There's often been this push and pull between the hustle culture, and those who believe that we create through our energy. And today on the podcast, I want to know, what side are you on? Are you Team hustle, or team manifestation. And I'm also going to share with you why I think it's important for us to have a healthy balance of both.

0:27
You're listening to The Couragecast a show to equip and empower you to live bravely. Each week, we'll share solo episodes and conversations with amazing people who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. With a blend of practical and spiritual advice. We'll help you take brave steps in your own life. Now, here's your host, mindset and confidence coach, author, and your secret weapon.

0:52
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea, I'm your host. And thank you for hanging out with me today. I hope I've got all sorts of people on listening to the podcast today that our team hustle and team manifestation because this conversation today hopefully is going to enlighten you to really just be aware of how you are showing up in your life and in your business and how important it is number one, to be in the right energy, and also to be taking action.

1:31
Now when I first became a coach, I was working hard. I was doing all the things. I mean, literally, I was doing all the things. And I really didn't have any kind of sense of manifestation in any way of any kind of energetic. You know how we did things? I mean, I would look at like time management and I would, you know, look at it in terms of energy management, and how much energy do I have to you know, to get things done. But I really didn't know that I was creating through my thoughts, I had no idea. I always thought that if I wanted to get something done, I had to use my abilities and my action. But if I'm really honest with you, like I've been a little bit at war in myself when it comes to this topic, trying to navigate my own propensity towards taking action. And also learning how to show up energetically in a way that really brings about results in my life.

2:49
And I've gone back and forth, vacillated between doing the hard work, and also creating space for things to manifest in my life. And if you've listened to other episodes, you will have heard me talk about how sometimes when we're focusing on the wrong thing that we manifest, you know, what we don't want, which is a lack of the result. And you might even go back into like episodes way, way, way before this in the courage cast. And here are we talking with people who know much more about this than I do, because I've had some brilliant people on here who've talked about manifestation like Jessica Jovanovich, or you know, human design, like Racheal Weaver or Emily Tucker, the Enneagram like Beth McCord, like there's so many people who talk about how we can show up when it comes to taking action with who we are and how we're designed and how we're created.

3:47
But friend, it is so important that no matter what you believe, or how you are wired, I guess is the right word, that you look at two different things, A, the you know what works best for you. And B, you give yourself permission to try and fail until you find your sweet spot. Okay? So if you come away with anything today with you're like, I'm totally team hustle. Let's get it done. Let's grind it out. Let's do all the work, which actually kind of triggers me sometimes I'm not gonna lie, I see people posting and I'm like, That exhausts me that thought exhausts me, or, you know, team out of stations, like I'm just gonna sit back and let everything happen. But I've also done that, and then not seeing the results right. So either of those two camps can be extremely frustrating and disappointing. So here is what I want to start with today.

4:50
When it comes to making a decision about how you want to approach, the hustle, and also the alignment it' so important that you have in your mind what you believe to be true, because whatever it is that you believe to be true will come to pass. So if you believe it requires hard work for you to be successful, then in order for you to be successful, guess what you're gonna have to do, you're gonna have to do hard work. However, conversely, if you believe that you can manifest results, and you believe that to your core, then guess what?

5:34
When you manifest, you will manifest results. When it comes to what I personally believe. I believe that I think things can have an ease and flow. I believe that I truly do believe that I don't know if I'm, you know, convincing you with that statement. But I really do, I believe that there can be an easy flow, okay, so maybe I really don't believe that maybe like, let's just let the cat out of the bag, I want to believe there can be ease and flow, I want to live out of ease and flow. But oftentimes, what I'm doing is the complete opposite. I'm working hard. And so I believe and want to believe that there can be one result. And yet, I'm putting in something completely different, which is going to be at odds with it. So as you can imagine if I'm hustling, hustling, working hard, trying to do all the things, but I think things can be easy, then the universe is like well, what do you really think What do you want, and you're confusing us. And so we're gonna deliver on the confusion. And you're gonna get more of that. So it's so important that you make a decision about how you believe things can happen, and then you act accordingly.

6:52
So for me, for example, as saying, I really believe that I can live out of ease and flow, then I need to take action out of ease and flow. That means I need to be aware of what action I do take and take it when it feels aligned, and don't push myself just to do things on account for doing, which is what I have been guilty of doing in the past. Okay, so it's so important that you are finding the sweet spot for you bet that you're in alignment with what you believe. So if you really believe in hustle culture, then that works for you. And that's what you want it to be, then go all in on that. If you're like I'm Team ease and flow manifestation, then it's really important that you fall into alignment with that, if you're a little bit like me, where you're like, No, I want to do a bit of both. I want to have ease and flow with aligned action that really allows me to do a lot of things, things that I really want to do, keeping my energy, being able to show up with ease, being able to show up in flow, then it is so important that you make that very, very clear to yourself and to the universe and operate out of that mindset. Even today, I'm recording five podcast episodes. And generally speaking, in a day, I would probably record one, maybe two, because I would only have the bandwidth for that many.

8:40
But I made a decision in alignment with what I truly felt like, oh, I have the time I have the motional and mental capacity to actually record multiple podcasts. So I wrote out five podcasts, and I'm recording all of them within an hour and a half period of time. But the reason why I'm able to do that is because I made the decision. I have the energetic alignment with it, and I am doing it. So I'm definitely taking action, but I'm also in a place of ease and flow. So if you find yourself, you know, feeling as though you are overwhelmed or exhausted, or you're burnt out when it comes to doing all the things that I want to encourage you to take a look at like Well, why do you feel that way? Where are you out of alignment when it comes to that kind of hustle culture or really, you know, wanting to manifest what it is that you desire into your life? Is there a middle ground that you can take that is going to help you and so for me, what I do is every morning I get up I have

10:00
Have a basic morning routine that works for me.There are mornings that I definitely substitute in and out. But there's part of my routine that has journaling, meditation, reading, movement, and coffee.

10:19
I mean, that's the important thing, right? Having a cup of coffee to wake up and do all of those things. And sometimes I do do them in different orders. Sometimes I you know, like today, just through my whole morning routine out, and I worked for the first couple of hours, but it felt aligned. So I did it. Knowing that probably I will go back at some point in the day, and I will pick up on those things that I did not get a chance to do this morning.

10:45
But it felt good. And so I did it that way. But you want to know what feels aligning for you. And then do it with that energy, because that is going to produce the results that you desire in your life. And if you believe that you're going to have those results, and you put that aligned action towards it, it's going to be magic. If you however, do not believe that you are going to have those results, and you're trying to put action towards something, then you're probably going to feel overwhelmed, burnt out, frustrated. And I know for myself, I have definitely definitely been in that camp. So whether or not you feel as though your team hustle, or your team manifestation, I want to encourage you that there can be a middle ground. And I would love of course, to hear what you have to say about that, where you are, how you have found yourself in being in alignment in your own life and in your business. And if you've never jumped in on our mindset, mentor circle, I would love to invite you every Wednesday we meet and it's a great supportive community where we are talking about the challenges. Some of the things that we go through when it comes to really stepping into that future version of ourselves when it comes to our mindset. And it is a free call. Now here's your host, mindset and competence coach, author and your secret weapon.

1:08
Hello friends. Welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp. I'm your host. I am a mindset and confidence coach. I am an author, a speaker, and I am the host of this amazing podcast which we are celebrating today, our fifth year anniversary, which is crazy. It is so crazy. I cannot even believe it. I was thinking about this when I was set to record this podcast episode. And almost like there's no way. There's simply no way. When I first started recording the podcast. Those of you who may have been with me during those days, I was recording in a condo, downtown Toronto, where there was always sirens in the background street noise street cars. There were people in the hallway there were renovations taking place in the next door condo unit for months. There were moments that literally, in order to get a podcast recorded, I had to take all of my gear down into the parking garage in the middle of the night when there would be very few people driving and record the podcast posit every time a car would drive by just to get a podcast episode recorded. It was crazy. And of course, there were times where I had, you know, interviews that didn't go right that I had to scrap or I had to rerecord whole sections of the podcast because the audio was not good. You name it. It has happened within this five years. But honestly, if I could tell you one thing, that is something that I have really grown and learned from this experience from from five years is that it gets sweeter with time. And oftentimes we want just like massive results when it comes to doing things in our lives. But really, the beauty of what we get to do in this space, especially when it comes to creating something is the growth and expansion that takes place in our own lives. And I can honestly say that is so true for my life, the growth and expansion that has taken place because I have continued to record podcasts weekly, and put them out. Honestly, I don't even know what my life would have been like had I not done this. And so I get to share with you bits and pieces of my journey every week. But today, I want to kind of turn the tables. And you know, you've tuned in maybe to one episode, maybe too many episodes. But friend, what is it in your life? That is your big dream? Like what is happening, that you're still sitting on? Maybe you've done a lot of things, but there's like one thing that you just wish would happen? Why are you hesitating on that? What are you waiting for? When I first started the podcast, it took me an entire year to get started and to convince myself because I was in my head overthinking the process. You know, obviously I didn't know what I was doing. But besides that, I was really hung up on this whole notion that no one would want to listen. And there are times you know five years later where all Could I download for an episode? And it's, you know, not very high? And I'm like, Oh, well, you know, not very many people listen to that episode. But at the end of the day, a lot of what I'm doing now, I am putting out because I am trusting that there is even one person who is going to be impacted by an episode.

That even if I share this for one person's benefit, that it's worth it. So, friend, I want to just ask you that question. If you knew that even one person could be impacted by what it is that you have to put into the world, would that be enough for you to just get started? Because often we look at these, you know, incredible results that people are having, and all the money and success that maybe is coming into their life. But at the end of the day, it's really truly about the impact that we're making. And if there's nothing else that I have learned about this journey, podcasting, and showing up every single week, it is that no matter what happens, there will be one life touched or impacted. Because I decided to sit in front of a microphone and press record. So maybe you've been thinking about, you know, what that would look like for your life? Maybe it's to start your own podcast. And maybe you you know, are hesitating because you're like, Well, I'm not really sure what to do. I'll tell you what, friend, there's so many credible people out there that can help you get a podcast started. And it's a lot easier now than it has ever been. And people are still binging content. And if you're a female, and you're listening to the podcast, did you know that only 20% of podcasters are females. So there is so much room for you in this space. And so I want to encourage you to get out there and start your podcast. But maybe you're like, Well, no, maybe it's not a podcast, maybe it's like I want to write a book or become a speaker or I want to empower others through you know, becoming a coach or a therapist or doing something that really motivates other people or moves them to action. Well, I have to say this, in order to do that, you have to be moved to action first. It starts with a dream. But then you have to see that dream come to life by taking aligned action in your life. And yes, there are going to be ups and downs, there are going to be detours, there are going to be roadblocks, and oftentimes you probably might want to quit. But at the end of the day, when you know that this dream is going to have an impact in the lives of other people. It's worth it to keep going. So whatever it is that is on your heart to do, I just want to encourage you to take that step. Live bravely. Do the courageous thing. Because somebody needs what you have to offer. And here's the thing. You know, if you've done all those things, you're like Andrew, I wrote a book. Andrew, I'm a speaker, Andrew, I already have a podcast, I have a thriving business, all the things, there's still more for you. You don't get to just stop there. You're always moving

into that next level version of yourself in every level requires more courage. And every level requires you to do the work the inner healing to really move yourself into that future version of yourself. So whatever it is that still out there for you to do, because I know that there is something in you what you can't tell me otherwise, because I 100% even know for myself, there are still more things for me to do that require me to have that kind of courage to actually take those steps. Who do you need to become in order for that to take place? And just today as I was taking a walk and I was thinking about recording this episode, which is episode 224 It's the fifth year episode. I was thinking you know what Adria there's still so much more for you. There's more for you when it comes to your gifts, your talents, your abilities, your ability to cultivate community, your ability to come communicate with other people. And I was encouraging myself that what I'm doing is not enough, there's still more. So I want to encourage you today that there is still more for you. So in celebrating our fifth anniversary of the courage cast, I want to say thank you, number one for being here, for being on this journey with me for allowing me to be on this journey with you. And I want to encourage you that the best is 100% yet to be fulfilled in your life, but you have to have courage to get out there and make it happen. Now, of course, I would be remiss to not thank the people who have helped me along the way, my friends, my family, and of course, my good friend and partner, Steven Crilley, who has every week, every single week, mixed and mastered this podcast, put his own original music, and produced every episode. It's been an honor to do the journey with him. And it's been an honor to do the journey with you, friend, I love you. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

0:59
Hey there, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am your host, and I am so excited to share this week's episode with you, which is coincidentally, episode number 222. And today, we're talking all things Human Design. Back a few months ago, I had Rachel Weaver on the show. So I am so excited to share this episode with you with Emilee Tucker. Emilee, thank you so much for hanging out with me this morning. appreciate a good reading. Yes, thank you for having me. I'm excited to be here. Yeah, we'redoing double duty. Today we're doing both a recording for the podcast, which I'm super excited about. But we're also going live into the mindset mentor circle, which is my private Facebook group. And so I wanted to bring you into this space, because I just think that you're doing amazing things. And I think it'd be a great place for the people in the mindset mentor circle to really get an opportunity to get to know you. So welcome.

2:38
Thank you, I'm excited to be here to share my wisdom and to connect with your community.

2:42
Awesome. So you know, one of the things that I always ask people at the very beginning is I just say, tell us a little bit about yourself, and also who you serve. And just it's open to, to whatever you want to say, however you want to describe yourself.

2:59
Alright, so I see myself as a transformation coach, I use spirituality and leadership as part of my pillars. I come from a background in corporate health, health care, and really has have dug into personal leadership, I have earned my Master's in organizational organizational effectiveness, effectiveness and leadership. It's a very long title, right. And with that background and my spiritual journey, I've been able to blend this concept of that we're spiritual beings having a human experience. And that's the take that I take on my clients is we are this being that encompasses both those spheres. And I use primarily what is called Human Design. And we'll dig into that and what that means. And what brought me to it is I was constantly looking to fix and to understand myself and to learn more, and what can I do to become better and I was on this journey and human is out. Like I said, Human Design designed found me where it had this underlying piece that any other assessment personality tool, what have you, and it brought it back to the soul. And it's this awareness tool that I find that's unlike anything else. And it's one of those tools that you can have in your toolbox. And in that saying one is better than the other, right? They can all be complimentary. And so it's just this insight of who are you designed to be energetically so I serve professionals that are spiritually curious. They want to understand themselves they want to and they desire to have transformation and not just information that they go great. What do I do with this now so we can actually implement parts of who you are to this becoming?

4:42
I love that I was mentioning to you in a phone call that we had probably several weeks ago that I have just started to you know, do research around human design and my human design and, and how enlightening has really been for me like I've just really He started to see how open or closed I can be depending upon the circumstance and depending upon, you know what's going on in my world, but not everybody does things the certain a certain way. And it's like anything else, right? It's like, we automatically assume oftentimes, like, well, everybody should do it the way I do it. And everybody should process things the way I process things. And that's not always the case. So can you just for somebody maybe listening to this, and it's like, what is human design? And maybe they're like, I'm not really even into the Whoo. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so can you like, kind of, like, bring it home for us? Like, what is? What is human design? Exactly?

5:47
Yeah. So we're gonna demystify, yeah, get back to the human. So, you know, we think about Whoo, and there's so many different things that we like we want to lean in, and we're not really sure. And we're like, is this Whoo, is this not? Whoa. So I'm going to demystify that, if not entirely, whoo. It's definitely this modern and ancient science blend, it's a system that brings that in together. Quantum physics, biochemistry, astronomy, so you have all these different pieces, the puzzle is mathematically based, as well. So yeah, so there's four components to human design. And that's astrology, that is the I changed. When you think about giant genetics, you think about your purpose, you also have the Kabbalah tree of life. And that gives you these gates and channels, this energetic flow. And then you also have the Hindu Brahmin chakra system. So when we think about chakra system, we traditionally think of the seven energy centers, you know, the colors of the rainbow route all the way up to crown. And we've evolved. And from the Uranian age, we've evolved from a seven to a nine. And I'm just going to get a little technical for just a minute. So we have the solar plexus, but we also have the splenic. And those split into two. And because we've evolved to be emotional beings, we don't just need to run away from an animal, but we now are using and processing information. So that has split into have those two centers. And then the heart center has split into what's called the G center, and also our ego. So when you think about ego, we're not thinking of it in the context, you typically think of like the ego gets in the way, what have you ego is around your willpower and your material world when it comes to human design. So we are in this nine energy center being. So we have this energetic blueprint, so think of it have a map, okay, and we have these nine energy centers, they can be colored, or they can be non colored, and what that means there's definitions for their undefined. So do you have a stability in your chart of this energy center or not? And there's no right or wrong, there's no good or bad. It's simply how you're designed. And when you understand this energetic flow, and these components, you can show up authentically yourself, you give yourself permission to show up as you and like you said, Andrea, like, we're not meant to have this cookie cutter approach. You're supposed to have this system or this structure or process this way, or, or do this and do that. And you know, as entrepreneurs, we hear how many different systems and processes they're on. They're all wondering, are they are they right? For you? Yeah. Are they right for you, and it gives you this permission slip to be you authentically. So it's just really it's a wonderful gift to be able to do that for people.

8:32
One of the things that has been coming up with me, you know, a lot, I just was talking to someone on an Instagram live about this and about expansion and the expansiveness that we can experience and I would love to, like, ask you, when you understand or when you are starting to kind of dive into human design for yourself and the transformation. What, what is available for you in expansiveness when you start to go into that?

9:03
Yeah, so I think there's no limit. There's no limit because human design is this experience. It's this experiment, and it's this ongoing journey. There's never a destination is it's just onion, you're continually unfolding. more layers of it. And there's depth of human design, there's environment, there's health, there's relationship dynamics, family dynamics, like there is this depth of information of how you can interpret and play with them. Right. And one of the examples how it's showing up for me, is I'm a manifester. There's five different energy types, and one of them is manifest errs, and they're about 8% of the population. And they were typically the leader. So you think about they can just initiate and go and do so like think of the slogan just do it right. Not everyone's meant to just go do it. These are typically the manifest errs and because historically, manifest errs were the leaders that That's what we heard. That's what we were conditioned to think. And that's not everyone's energy type. Okay? Yeah. So for me understanding that I'm to be this this big energy, this impactful energy to go do and run and say, and also one of the strategy parts of strategies to foreign people, because you as me as a manifester, I can just go and do. Yeah. But you can lose the crowd that way, right? So you just gotta go, Hey, I'm going to New York City. Does anyone want to come with me? If you're like, let's go, if not, not a big deal. So understanding that I'm meant to blaze this trail and do unapologetically, it gives me permission to show up that way. And understand I'm not meant for everyone. So that's just one way of leaning into mind design is, am I creating impact? Am I initiating? Am I seeing an opportunity and leaning into it, versus there's other energy types there? That's not how they're meant to show up. So there's just this level of permission that you continue to give yourself with every day.

11:03
Okay, so with the theme of showing up, because I do love that? How are the other types showing up?

11:11
Yeah, so we can dig into that for just a minute. So there are five different energy types. Like I said, manifest errs, we also have projectors. So those are the people that can see through the trees, they are the guides, they are here to do things much more efficiently. And they see things and they can go gosh, like why are these other people not seeing it? Do they not understand what why it's right in front of them? Well, they're not seeing it the way that a projector seeing it. So they have this magical view that others may not, and they're about 20% of the population.

11:42
So they're even more so than the manifester.

11:45
Yeah, so the Okay, the smallest group are reflectors, and they're about 1%. And they are literally the mirror to communities to the world, they are completely open and undefined, which means they're going to take on other people's energy, and they're going to look back. So if you want to a health check, or a pulse on what's going on in the community, these reflectors literally give you back then information. So they're 1%. So they're very rare. And again, as we're evolving, that's where these, this reflector group has come in and evolve and has been created. So we have manufacturers, we have projectors, we have reflectors, and we also have generators, so they're about a third of the population, then they're here to generate energy. And they have what's called a defined sacral space. And that sacral Energy Center, they're here to be lit up by their work. And when they do that they're energetically aligned. They're bringing people into their space, they're bringing people in magnetically because they're doing what they love, and they're generating this energy. Their strategy is to respond. And that can mean different things. So one way I try to explain this, like you have an experience, and you go, do I want to do this again, do I now to do this again? And you lean back into your bond and go hmm, like, is this something that I want? And you say yes, of more of the things that you want, and you say no, of the things that aren't serving you.

13:10
And as you go on, you start to say yes, to the things that are right for you, you find more alignment, you find more joy, you find your purpose, and you lean into that, because you're responding to what's coming to you, rather than just going and creating it and you're going to find resistance as a generator. If you're trying to go do go do go do, you can certainly look to partner up with someone like a manifester to just go create, but you're having this response of is this something that I want? Now, let me ask you a question about the response. Because I'd maybe didn't understand that before. I think you're explaining it a little bit more in detail than what I had maybe heard. So when you say in response, it's more like in response to your own, like what's coming up within you or in response to somebody else.

14:00
So it can be both okay. And like I said, it's his experience, it's experiencing it experimenting and experiencing it, right? So you get to lean into what does a response meter look like for you? So for an example, you could see, there's a summit coming up, and you're like, ooh, do I want to experience this? And most often, there's a sacral connection and authority for generators and you're going to have this like yes or no response. Yes. And as you teach yourself to understand what does this yes or no mean, in my body? You can then say yes, if you're finding resistance, it's likely you know, default to a no and practice with it. So it could be you see an opportunity. It could be, Hey, do you want to be a podcast? Guest you know, there can be this different levels of what does the response meter look like? So it's not going to look the same every time. And you by practicing it will lead into what does the response mean to you? Go. Does that mean?

15:02
Yeah, that makes sense? Yeah. Okay. So you're responding to kind of like almost like a stimulus, like in the sense of like, what's happening, and I'm responding to that. So whether it's in me in, you know, inviting me some, Okay, interesting. I'm a generator. So that that does make lessons I thought it sometimes I was like in response to what could be people experiences, opportunities, and you'll start to lean into what feels right and what does not feel right. Like an example, someone, I just use this PTA example, because I feel like the PTA PTO, people can understand that, you know, there could be this opportunity to help and you're like, I don't really want to help this way. However, I can help by baking or I can help them next time. And you're leaning into what's this response for you. Does that? Does that make sense? Yeah. So and you can also change the game up, you're allowed to say no, and give you a different terms. And that I think, you know, that comes to learning to use your voice and what feels right and going with your instinct and different parts of who we are. To be able to have these opportunities that feel right for us. Yeah. Because as a generator, not self theme as frustration. And here's where the cycle comes into play. So let's say you say yes to this opportunity, this person, this experiment, whatever, what have you, right? And it comes at time, you're like, I don't have time, I don't have energy, I don't want to do this, there comes a frustration. And there's a cycle, because you've now committed and said something that you now don't want to do. And you're now wasting your energy on something that's not right for you. And it's just not in alignment. So you're gonna feel this level of frustration, and that's natural. And that's a guy posing, let's look at this. Was this, was this right? For me? Why or why not? You know, did I feel not? Like I had enough time or enough or enough resources, or I wanted to spend my energy on something else. So it gives you this feedback? Yeah, naturally, through your body and through your emotions,

I find that so fascinating. Because I think growing up, you know, I always just defaulted to you do certain things because you commit to them, or it's expected. And so in order, you know, and even in business, even as an entrepreneur, or as a coach, when I first got into this space to is the same type of thing. It's like, well, if something you know, is presented to you, you do it, because it's just kind of an expectation. And that was, of course, because of my own what was my own upbringing and my own, you know, environment, right. But then when I started to understand human design, and I'm like, Oh, I get an opportunity to say no, and there, and I really woke up to this understanding that when I'm frustrated, or I'm feeling like this is not working, there's a reason for that. And it's something that I need to take a deeper look at, what did I say yes, to or no to that is not aligning for me, and if not, you know, really putting me in in a space to be able to make more impact. Now, in the mindset, mentor collective, which is a Facebook group that I host for entrepreneurs, and coaches, and if you're listening to the podcast, and you're not part of that yet, jump in, and definitely become part of that community. But it is, especially for entrepreneurs and coaches. And so I kind of want to just dial in for them, because I think this is a really important thing. So what about human design when it comes to understanding your human design? And being a coach? Maybe they're not a human design coach, but how will that impact their coaching, business or entrepreneurial life?

19:06
So I think first and foremost, when you show up as your most authentic self, that's when you're the most magnetic. Okay, so understanding your design allows you to show up as the same person in your business and lean into what makes sense. So understanding how you make decisions in your human design is going to be the same way you use them in your business. So someone who let's say, has a splenic authority, spleen authority they're meant to make in the moment quick decisions, and if that's who and how you're designed to operate lean into doing more of that new business, does this launch feel right? Yes or no? Does this launch feel right? Right now? Yes or no? Does this does this make sense to add a team member does it make sense to you start to ask these questions, to practice leaning into what feels right in your decision making so decision making thinking about your launch thinking about what pride Check. So you saying yes to. And I just want to jump back real quick. So manifest manifesting generators are hybrid, they'll go last energy type. They're multi passionate. So if you're someone who's a manifesting generator, you're meant to have different things going on. And again, you have these components of a generator. So what are you saying yes to? Are you putting 10 different projects on your plate? Or should you really be putting four? Does this feel right, right now? Does this feel right? Later? You know, this, if you're thinking about let me think about launching a podcast. Okay, is this the right time yes or no. And it always comes back to bringing it back to the body. And I want to connect it to mindset too. So mindsets, incredibly important. But we also have the subconscious mind is 95% of what's in control, it's our body. So we think about we get back into our body, when we use our human design that leads us naturally, and we can get into our heads, we create these stories, and forget to lean into our bodies. And that's where the answers really lie. I love Oh, as an entrepreneur, give yourself this guidance through your intuition through your body to be able to serve your clients and your customers better. Because again, when you're energetically aligned, we're in, you're in an energetic, good space, people are going to naturally come to you, and you're not in resistance, you're actually in flow, and who doesn't want more flow. And their life is slow in their business. And you start to create, and I know you talk a little bit about manifesting, you start to manifest and create this life in this business that you love. And you enjoy. Yes, because you are authentically aligned.

21:41
I love that that is so good. I was even talking to a client yesterday, who was making a decision and was having a hard time making a decision. And as soon as you were you're talking about that, I was immediately thought oh, I think maybe she needs to, to investigate human design. Because it could be that, like, you know, she's having a hard time making the decision, because she's not tuning in to her body and understanding her full design. And, and I think that yeah, we do get in our heads when it's like, oh, I should be doing this, like, kind of the, the topic was coming in that I'm sure so many people can relate to this, but it's like, I've spent so much money. And I would hate to not see anything come of it. So I don't want to just bail on this, you know, and you know, after spending all this money, and I was saying to her, I'm like, you know, this is a foundational piece to what you're doing. And look at this as an investment in you not an investment just in you know, the programs or the coaching or whatever that you've been in. But I'm kind of almost like hearing you say that when you're really in touch with an understanding how you are created, like from a from a human design standpoint. It's like you're able to go okay, yeah, listen, now I know, you know, when is it a right decision to move forward on a new program? Or should I sit back and take a little time, and you have this almost like a sense or awareness or keen awareness to like, I'm, that's okay. Yes, I can, and the worlds are gonna fall apart. Is that Is that right? Is that like, when you have an understanding of human design?

23:25
Yeah. So I just had this aha that I want to share. So you know, you talked about being a generator, and this response, right? So if you're having messages coming through, hey, can you help me with this? Hey, can you help me with that, that is you then responding to people's needs. So if you're finding a theme with your clients and your customers, great, create a program, that's your response mechanism, I'm seeing this opportunity and responding to it. So again, when you know what, specifically right for you, you're going to show up energetically, right? So making decisions, how you communicate how you process information is going to be specific to you. So one way that I use it in my coaching, I love decision making cars. We spent how much time yeah, we make 35,000 decisions a day. So think about the rewiring of the subconscious, right? So when we know how to intuitively make decisions that are right for we're, we're breaking down the curve, we're doing what's right for us, and there's this conditioning process. So an example for me, I have an emotional authority, I'm not meant to make decisions that are quick, they're meant to have the dust settle. So not in a high not on the low and that also can be more time or space than other people are willing to. To be okay with. And part of my deconditioning process is setting those boundaries in a loving way of I need more time for this decision and you just know when there's clarity, you know, like He said like this, like, they're gonna be quick, emotional is not and it's leveraging those two. So especially, you know, as an entrepreneur when you're working with clients holding space for people that are different energetic blueprints to so.

25:12
So can I ask you a little bit about that like, so when you're for you like, it could be like a decision like, Okay, I invite you to be a guest on the podcast and you're like, Okay, I need to make, I need to, like sit on that decision, is this right for me? So it would take you a little bit of time? To know that answer, like that's,

25:31
so it can ebb and flow. So you know, when you think about a bigger decision, like buying a car, buying a house, and during a relationship, you want to be able to have that clarity before you just jump onto it. Because we all as humans, we get excited. We're like, Oh, this is shiny, this is great, this is fine. And then the dust settles, and then you're like, ooh, that's not really what I want. And if you've had a bath, yeah, though, you know, whether it's a large investments, like I actually had this with one of my, my clients, it was a large investment, she was super excited. She wanted to see this particular speaker, and she signed up. And then guess what one of the speakers, the one that she was looking to see, wasn't able to be be there anymore. So then it was like, gosh, like, how do I sit with this? Do I go do I not go and we went right back into how is the right way for her to make a decision. And it was to back out, the energetically did feel aligned anymore. So we didn't waste days or weeks sitting with it, we were able to sit down, reflect on it and take action. And everyone, again, they have different authorities, it's honoring what makes sense for you, and then also communicating that with the people that are in your life.

26:43
So it can be as far as much as like, you know, learning how to make decisions intuitively or a really like, you know, I love how you brought up the program thing. It was so funny that you did that. I was like that was really actually meant for me, thank you very much I will take you. And you didn't even know. But it was so funny that you said that. Because there there are so many times where you hear people talk about like, you should start a program like this. And you know, and for me, I find you know, as coaches, you know, you can pull the audience, you know, and I'm like, nobody responds to those polls very often. And I'm not getting any real.

27:21
Can I can I give you a little insight generators are going to be the most have to respond to those. Really? Yeah. And they're typically responding to like, yes, no answers, especially if they're saikal. So you understand your design, you can understand how to pull your audience and what kind of questions so someone who's emotional story, they're going to be leaning into more of that feel? Versus like, Yeah, so like, when you think about polling, you're only going to get an X amount of people because people if they're not generators, they may not lean into that respond. Does that make sense? Like totally

27:54
makes sense. Because I and as a generator, I sometimes don't even want to put I don't even want to put that out. Like to be honest with you, if you're feeling resistance, lean

28:03
into why are you really being resistant? Are you? And then again, like these stories? Are we saying nobody wants to respond to the is it? How are we presenting it is how we're sharing it? You know, we can then do an internal reflection of how are we showing up energetically? You know, when you think about, oh, gosh, no one's gonna listen to this, no one's gonna respond to this. That's the energy you're actually putting into that and think about people are not going to respond, because you've also created that story that is now being manifested. So they just told me, there's few different parts of that. Right.

28:39
I know, you're so right, because one of the the the new program that I'm launching, which is actually a revamped version of something I did last summer, and it was, again, in response to what my clients were saying that they needed. And there was a part of me that was like, Okay, well, I would never have probably done this particular program. It's, you know, but it is in response to, and I'm finding, even as I do through launch processes, and doing all of those things that some days, like lot yesterday was in the middle of launching for a workshop and massive resistance, again, like massive resistance. And I had to sit back and go, I close my laptop and was like, alright, you just need to go take a walk. You know, Where's this coming from? You know, what's going on? Are you still supposed to do this? And I was like, Yes, I really feel like this is what I'm supposed to do. But I was in my head, trying to think I needed to come up with all of the plan, which did not feel aligning to me. And you know, and so, you know, I was like I had to like let that go. But the part of me that used to show up as a coach this way, was always frustrated, because I'm being asked or told to do certain things. And then it wasn't working. And I'm like, I'm doing everything you tell me, I'm a very good student, I would do it to a tee. It is not generating the results that you're telling me it's going to generate an understanding a little bit more of my human side. And like I've mentioned, I'm only just like, you know, in the water, like barely, you know, walking in the water here. I'm already starting to understand more about okay, but I want to go, can we go deeper? Yeah. Can we go do Yeah, oh, bring it up. Because here's something. I'm sure people who are listening to this are going to be like, Oh, my gosh, there's so much to this. And this is why I definitely want you to actually to connect with Emily. Because I really do honestly believe that when you start down this road for yourself, it's going to open things up for you. So that's why I want to say that. Okay, Gates. And there's another word that you use before, and I can't remember what it was gates and channels. Don't understand that.

What is that all about? Yeah, okay. Yeah. So we have 64. We have 64 channels, 64 gates, rather? Sorry, 64 channels, 32 gates. So two channels make a gate? And when you have two channels, okay.

Okay, it's like two pathways making a gate.Yeah. So you have, I'm just, I use my head. So. So let's think about your sacral space, right. So let's say you have a gate that comes out of that. And let's say we have your solar plexus, there's a gate that comes out of that, if they're in the same line, the same space, they're now creating a channel, okay, and each gate has a specific characteristic message. And then also, when they're combined, there's this bigger message, this bigger characteristic that comes to it. And when you have this whole channel that's connected, that's when you have a definition and energy center. Okay. So if you have, let's say, your sacral, to your solar plexus, those now become both defined, and you have this energetic flow that is yours. Does that make sense?

Yeah, and I have seen the chart, and I've seen where mine does connect and where it does not connect. So I do understand that. So like, if you pull up your chart, you would be able to see like, where they actually do connect?

32:21
Yeah, so for me, I'm gonna give an example in some contexts, I have just a few different channels that connect for me, and one of them is the gate of correction. And this is where that when we get into the deeper parts of human design, gated correction, there are so many different ways that you can use it there is the shadow frequency. And there's higher frequencies of how to use these gates to so we can dig into those, and coaching. And so a shadow part of the gate of corrections that you see something that can be fixed that become better. And that's also why I think I've been on this journey of like, how do I fix How do I do this? How do I do that. But if you're using that energy in the wrong way, the shadow self can come out. And I can see that there's things wrong with other people, again, that's also a reflection of myself. So when I'm looking at this gate of correction, if I'm not using energetically in the right way, I'm like nitpicking it, people are seeing things and the shadows are coming through, rather than if you're using in your purpose, you're using energetically correctly, you are saying, okay, like, How can I fix and solve some of these things. And like the gate of correction can be a gift, it can be this beautiful thing, if you're using it in energetically right way. So like, for me, I see problems, I want to fix them, let's see how we can fix it like I am this resourceful. Let's look at the different angles. Let's do this. Let's do that, you know, as part of my coaching approaches, I can see this game of correction. And I can use that in a loving heart centered way of, you know, I'm seeing this as an opportunity or something that you want to work on, let's move you into the space that it's energetically you're using in the right way. So not more or less fixing someone, but you're finding more of a solution. So we each have these different characteristics and components of how we're to energize us ourselves. So for me, I'm here to help with that data correction. I'm also I have this gate of crisis. Okay, lightning of the dark, like I can be there for people in these moments. And it's also part of my design. And then you also will go a little deeper based on how these channels show up for you. There's what's called an incarnation cross, and there are four quarters and there's different expressions of them as well. So mine is the service is the incarnation of service. So I'm here to be of service to people, right? We're all here to serve others. However, how are we using that with other people? How are we stepping into our purpose and what feels right when I'm helping people i i I am excited Only with like, yeah. So knowing just some of your gates, some of your channels, knowing your purpose, it leads you into how are my power using this? And it's not, you know, not everyone's meant to be a coach. But that could be a really great way. But when you're looking at your incarnation cross, how am I using this as part of my coaching? How am I using this as an entrepreneur, so you can connect those two as well. So there's, again, there's this depth, and because it's very personalized, I want to you know, I want to be able to dig in and help you have this awareness of where am I using my gifts? And when you think about the gates and channels, there's different types of circuitry to so there's what's called collective so there's also tribal, you know, is your energy really connected on how you serve portal pro your community in your tribe, and there's give and take? So there's this energetic connections with each of these gates and channels, there's a signature, will you? Okay, so understanding that part as well, can be a really great thing, and how you show up for your community, how you show up for your clients? Because understanding that type of energetic circuit, you're able to lean into that more, does that make sense? Like, through a lot of information?

36:14
So good, so good. Yeah. It makes it makes a lot of sense. And I think that as coaches, entrepreneurs, you know, when we're working with clients, or we're doing certain things, and, you know, we're not only making an impact, but we're also kind of, you know, working out things in our own lives as we go and wanting to show up in a way that is truly authentic. And if you're not showing up in that way it can it can feel off putting or frustrating or like you want to quit, or, you know, I'm done with this. And maybe it's it's not that you need to be done as much as take a deeper look at maybe there's something you're missing, or you should be like pivoting in some way to do you know, more of what light does light you up, which, which I think is amazing. This okay, this is so okay. I love this.

37:08
I am loving, I am loving this conversation. And I hope you know if there are any questions, please reach out. Yeah, we dig, we dug into so much. So, you know, I just want to let them all know, certainly reach out with any questions, because I'm sure many have gone.

37:23
Well, and this is the thing, like I think it's so you know, like oftentimes, you know, we're going well, how do we, we continue to expand and grow ourselves and elevate. I noticed for myself, when I this year was probably Yeah, 2022 was when I was introduced to human design. And it was kind of like a slow, like a slow introduction for me into it. But I've had some really amazing conversations around it as the years gone on. And it continues to, you know, be a thread through my year so far. So that's been pretty cool. But I've also seen that, when I have an understanding of my human design and my purpose, you know, in a real sense of who I am, you know, personally, it has really helped me. And really, I've allowed myself and given myself permission to do things that I maybe wasn't doing before because I wasn't looking there, or I wasn't investigating that. And this gave me permission. I would love to know, when people do work with you. And they do have, you know, a better understanding of human design. What does that look like to actually work with you?

Yeah, so we I do one on one sessions, and we get to discover we unlock, we bring awareness and we shift. So I find it in a space that I default to where you're needing assistance, are you looking to grow? So, you know, is it the resistance in your business? Is it communicating in your relationships? Is it you know, going back to decision making, is it how are you leading into decision making, so I default to what feels right for, for you as a client, and almost no way focus on like that one thing approach, because if you do too many things at once, you're not going to be able to say sustain that lifestyle that shift that change. So a very layered approach of how we do that. So very much this uncovering, let's discover, let's create awareness, because you can't do any anything unless you have this level of awareness. So example tone when you think about communication, if you're not aware of your tone, you can't change it. Yeah. So something as simple as that is, I lean into what you're finding is an opportunity for you and we deconstruct that and we rewire we relearn we decondition When we give you permission to really step in that space and to love yourself a little bit more, and usually, with that, you release this guilt and this shame and this conditioning that you've had. And it may be, you know, 30 plus years, 20 plus years, 40 plus years, you know, it could be a limiting story that you've had from your family, it could be generational trauma that you're trying to break and tribal energy, and especially doesn't circuitry to, if you're stuck to this tribal energy, it's really challenging to break through because you're looking at your identity, you're looking at who you are, who you're becoming, and you separating from that. And that can be very difficult in the sense that you feel lonely, you're, you know, when you think about, and here's just an example. If you're someone that is being an entrepreneur for the first time, and you are not like the rest of your family, no one in your family understands entrepreneurship, what it means what it looks like, doesn't feel safe, no tribal energy safety and security, right. So that route safety and security. So if you're looking to break yourself through as an entrepreneur, and you're still stuck on this tribal energy in the identity of this tribe that you have with your family, you're actually you're getting stuck in this pattern to not be able to move yourself and propel yourself forward. So you're holding yourself back from success, if you're still stuck in this tribal energy of your family, if they don't understand what that means, or what that looks like. Does that make Yeah, as a question like, you know, when they are second tribal energy, or when they when they do identify that then what happens next?

41:45
It's let's deconstruct that story. Okay, is this a story that's still serving you? One of my my greatest connections and friends, Kelly Brock, she talks about this principle a lot is this table is let's knock the table down, let's not build legs of the table down. And we get to deconstruct the story and really say, Is this really serving us? Is this something that is still true? You know, when you think about money, stories, money doesn't grow on trees, money, doesn't miss money doesn't matter, right? And we're able to say, right, like, is this does this make sense anymore? Is this really what we want to create? And have this becoming of who you want to be?

42:29
Yeah, that's amazing. Okay. So there's so much that that you can do like, you can look at it from a business perspective, personal decision making, relational, all sorts of different ways, which, if you're kind of feeling, you know, you like, as you said, you know, your transformational coach catalyst, you know, and really understanding how you can transform in, in the different areas through human design. That's, it's it is

42:57
it's limitless. There's so many different ways that you can use and experiment with it.

43:02
Awesome. That's amazing. Well, I really appreciate you joining me today. If so, Emily, thank you so much for being a guest on the courage cast today. I so appreciate you. Where can people connect with you, and learn more about what you do?

43:17
Yeah, so you can find me on pretty much every platform. So I'm on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, so any of those platforms. And one of the things to do to get started on your journey is to pull up your human design chart. So just a few things that you need is your your time of birth, your date of birth and your location of birth. And just because you don't have that information, doesn't mean you can't work with me, I certainly can help transform how with other tools and modalities, so you can find me, like I said on Instagram, LinkedIn, and

43:46
Facebook. Awesome. Thank you, Emily, for being with me. Thank you so much for having me.

Okay, wow, I am walking away with so much more insight into myself, but also into human design. And, quite frankly, quite excited to dive even deeper. You know, one takeaway that I'm going to really be applying in my own life is that there's no right or wrong when it comes to our human design type, that we just have to give ourselves permission to show up as ourselves. And for a long time, I think that I was looking for a prescribed way of doing things. And so this is just really shown me that there's no right or wrong way to do things that we just really have to know how we can show up when it comes to our own lives, and our businesses, our relationships and in every other way. I want to encourage you to connect with Emilee. I will put all of her links in the show notes. And I'm sure that she can help you when it comes to getting your human design chart as well as really having a transformation in your own life and in your business. Friend, thank you for hanging out with us today and, and if we're not already connected on Instagram you can find me at at Andrea crisp coach. Until next time remember you have everything you need to live briefly.

Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am so glad that you have joined me today we are talking about showing up as the expert and the authority. This is something that I truly believe each and every one of us has the capacity to do.

But so often, we find ourselves sitting back, and really allowing other people to take the lead. And I would bet that there is something that you are really, really passionate about in your life, in your business in your world that you're like I could talk about that for hours. And I know so much about that, or I'm just so fired up about that particular topic.

And yet, you're not talking about it, you don't tell anybody that you know anything about it, you are just in a constant state of learning, because you think that you need to know more and more and more and more and more. So here's the thing, when you are not acting as the authority and expert, you are actually missing out on opportunities, you're missing out on income, you're missing out on clients, and you're missing out on helping others get a transformation in their lives, which is why we are in this industry is to really help others shift their lives and get a transformation.

And really what it boils down to is a lack of courage, you are not stepping up to the plate, and you're not living bravely. And you are not acting and showing up as the expert and the authority in your particular field. Now, there's a lot of reasons why this may be the case, right? We're going to talk about a few of those. And just in case you're wondering, of course, I have done this myself.

There have been many, many times where I have sat back, and I have really differed to other people. I'm like, well, they're a better communicator, or they seem to know more, or people seem to listen to them, or they're the loudest in the room. I mean, whatever the circumstance is, really a boils down to what do you believe to be true?

Do you believe that you have the capacity to be the authority and expert in that particular subject topic? And can you share about that thing? Or do you find yourself deferring to others, letting other people take the lead? Now, I'm in a mastermind, currently, and I was talking to one of the people within the group. And I had this great conversation with this individual. And it was amazing. One of the things that she brought up was that, you know, she was always quiet, there were maybe a handful of people within the group that are consistently talking and sharing.

And I can guarantee you that those people truly have stepped into the belief that they are the authority, and that they are the expert in their field and they are willing to share. The people who are not sharing are the people who feel as though they are not. And there is a really marked difference between people who do show up in that way and people who don't. Now here is where it gets really interesting.

Just because somebody is showing up as the expert authority doesn't make them more knowledgeable, desperate and make them actually more of an expert. It makes them have they have more belief they have they have stepped into the identity of the authority and the expert, the other person has not. I mean, it's just that simple.

So if you find yourself deferring to others when you're in communities, masterminds group coaching programs, take a look at why you're not stepping up and sharing Because I would venture to say it's probably not because you're not the expert, it's probably because you don't have the identity of the authority an expert. Now, other ways that we, you know, just shrink back is thinking you need more qualifications. You know, maybe I need to have been in this industry longer, maybe I need more certifications. This was me prior to really doing NLP. And even though NLP has served me so well, as a coach, that's Neuro Linguistic Programming, with hypnosis, time techniques, all of those things, and I love it, and I use it in my business. However, the coach I was before that really is still existent. Now. I'm the same coach, and the transformation I was having with clients before, I'm still having now.

But for some reason, I felt as though I needed to have this certain certification to validate who I was what I had to offer. And really, at the end of the day, I didn't the reason I needed NLP was so that I could shift and have the subconscious transformations in my own life. And it gave me another tool to help my clients. But it definitely does not make me an expert. It's just something that I can use within my own business. Another way that you may not be showing up as the expert is, you're listening to the fears of other people, their lack, their negativity, their fear that things aren't going to happen for them. And they're never going to be able to grow their business and things are falling apart at the seams.

And why are they getting clients and all of a sudden, you feel as though it's the same for you and you take on that energy. And you shrink back and slowly slowly fade back into the woodwork. Instead of you know, kind of standing up and being like, you know what, I'm sorry, that that's how you feel is there any way that I can support you, I really want to help you. But I need you to know that I'm moving forward. And that I do feel as though I can help others. And I am going to take the positive approach. And I am going to believe that things are happening for me and not to me. And really moving past the fears that other people may be projecting another way, you might be finding yourself in that space where you're not really stepping up as an authority is your focus, you're not focusing on what you do best. So maybe you're like, really paying attention to all of the peripheral things that you do. But the thing you do best you're not highlighting, it's kind of like burying the lead, burying the lead, whatever, however you say it bury the lead.

I digress. Okay, back to my original thought. So if you're bearing the lead, you are actually not showcasing the very very thing that people come to you most, it's your superpower. It's like the thing that people love about you, it's the thing that you are gifted at doing. And for me in my life there, there are things I feel like I'm gifted at doing.

Number one, I'm a great singer. But apart from being a great singer, I'm also really, really good at helping other people have that ability as well. So I am a great voice coach. And I can help people really step into a whole new level when it comes to their voice. But if I don't talk about that, and I don't showcase that, then people think oh, well, she doesn't really know what she's talking about. Same comes to being coaching, when I can really, really see the potential and other people and I can see their blind spots very, very clearly, where maybe a lot of people can't, and I have like a maybe like a super intuition, where I'm able to see that and understand that and really be able to help somebody get to that place and shift it.

And that is not something that everybody can do. But it's something that I do really, really well. So it would behoove you to find the thing that you do really, really well. And focus on what you do best so that you can become the authority and the expert in that. Another way that you might not be showing up is you're doing too many things. Right? I am so guilty of this. I am talking to myself when I say this, I do all these things well, so I don't get help and support. And really, I'm actually dimming down the authority that I have in other ways because I'm just trying to do too many things at once and I'm gonna leave it at that because you Now I feel like I'm just talking to myself. But if that resonated with you, and you know that there's something that you do really well, and you're focusing on all the other things, because you do them kind of well, then you're not really showing up as the authority and the expert. Or, lastly, you may be feeling as though if you do, people are gonna look at you like, Who are you like, what do you have to offer? And who says you can do that?

Especially if you've had a transformation in your life, and you have friends and family who don't see you as that, and you haven't really started showing up in your life that way. And then all of a sudden, people are like, What the heck, like, that's not you. But here's the thing that really is our own subconscious perception of what we think other people are going to believe about us. And that's the work we need to do. It's not the responsibility of other people to like, say, oh, yeah, you're so great. Look at your transformation, you got this, go ahead. It's really about us. It's really about taking the ownership of your own transformation and saying, you know, what, yeah, I have this transformation. And it doesn't matter how other people perceive me, I am going to show up, I'm going to help people, I'm going to empower them. I'm going to be the expert and the authority in this particular industry that I'm in. And when you do that, when you step into that space, you're gonna find that things just like, automatically, doors open for you. People are like, Oh, my gosh, you're the expert in that. Awesome. I need you to talk to me about that. I remember when I started doing that, around podcasting, and I was like, forever. I was like, I had no idea what I'm doing on podcasting. But all of a sudden, I had been doing for a couple years, I had a top rated show. I had amazing guests, and people are like, you're like the go to person for podcasting. And I was like, What? No, not. But at the end of the day, I had to come to realize that well, yeah, I kind of am. And I do know what I'm talking about, because I've been doing this for a long time. And I feel very confident in what I do and what I'm producing when it comes to my podcast.

So I realized I am an expert and authority when it comes to podcasting. So there is something maybe many things that you can really start showcasing within your own life to really step into being the authority, and the expert in that particular industry. Now, we are really diving into this within the confidence accelerators an eight week. It's an eight week coaching program, where I work primarily with entrepreneurs, coaches, podcasters authors, speakers about really, truly identifying what is holding them back so that they can shift those subconscious beliefs and become the authority and take aligned action in their lives, and really share their message so that you can transform the lives of other people. And this eight week container starts July 14.

So there's still time if you're listening to this for July 14 to jump into the eight week program. If not, then make sure you join the waitlist for when it reopens. This program is so phenomenal. And honestly I can say the transformations that have happened within the group have just blown me away. So if this sounds like you, then I want to encourage you to jump in. And there still is time so make sure you go to the show notes and you can check out all the information about how you can sign up for this eight week program. Alright friend, I want to encourage you take a step today towards really showing up in your authority and acting as though you are the expert in your industry. Okay, friend. Love you. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

1:13
Hello, friend, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host. And we are in your five, like, whoa, what in the world? I am almost I actually had to like, look back and see when I actually started the podcast. And we just released our fifth year episode, which was last week, August 3, because we launched on August 3 2017, which absolutely blows my mind when I think about what it took for me to get started on this podcast. And if you told me that I would still be doing it today, five years later, or into the fifth year, I would have like not never believed it. So it's just I mean, I'd set the testimony number one, to just, you know, continuing to go on to go forward when sometimes there's a law or you don't feel creative, or, you know, you don't feel like showing up, it's a testimony to the many people who have worked behind the scenes over the years. I'm so grateful and thankful for the team that I've had with me, I would never have been able to do this. And just to think of like, the fact that we have come this far is just like absolutely blows my mind. But today on the podcast, we're going to talk about integrity. And the reason why I think this is such an important topic to cover is because there are so many people that are not operating out of integrity, when it comes to their leadership when it comes to their business, and even their livelihoods. And why is it so important that we operate out of integrity? Like what does that look like in your business? And what does that look like to grow your business? So not that long ago, I was talking with a friend and up here about like, basically the state of the online industry, how frustrating it can be to see other entrepreneurs are coaches that are kind of while for lack of a better word, creating a toxic culture or environment. And I see this all the time, that there are coaches, you know, telling people that they're making million dollar months, they're making, you know, gross amounts of money, and I have no problem at all, with people making money. In fact, I think it's amazing that people are making money. However, when it's done out of integrity, it can really feel like a toxic culture or environment. And this is something that I have firsthand knowledge of when it comes to being in cultures and environments where not everything is as it appears. So I have been in various situations within my life within my career, where I have been in toxic environments I've been, you know, in places where there is a huge lack of integrity. So when that happens, it is really easy for me to notice and for the red flags to go up. And so when I see other people operating out of a place that is not really out of integrity, it's kind of like I can see it from a mile away. And when I was thinking about what I wanted to share With you, when it comes to integrity, I really felt in my heart that I wanted to share from a place where it is safe. And you feel as though you are able to process through maybe how you have felt within the industry and how you are offering your own services, online or to others. And I think it's really, really important because if you've ever dealt with coaches, entrepreneurs, or people, leaders really that are out of integrity, it can feel really slimy. And you might want to stay clear from it. And I mean, I've listened to podcasts where they talk about, you know, different coaching styles, you know, being manipulative, and really what it boils down to, is, the people are out of integrity. So, for us, for the purposes of the podcast today, for our conversation, I want to talk about it from a vantage point where we are making that decision to operate out of a place of integrity.

Because if we're really being honest, the only people that can be responsible for our lives are ourselves, right. So when it comes to being in integrity, you have to lead from a place that you know exactly what it is that you truly value, and how you want to operate. And when it comes to taking those big steps in your life and in your business, it's really all about courage, it's all about just really being brave enough to take thee. It's really about being brave enough to do the right thing. When it comes to creating a business, a podcast, writing a book, whatever it is that you're doing, out of a place of integrity. So today, I'm going to leave you with a series of questions that you can work through. And don't worry, if you don't have place to write them down right now, or you're not in a position to do that. Maybe you're on the treadmill, or you're walking the dog, or you're driving the kids somewhere. And you're like, I don't have a pen and paper, you may just want to listen through, and then go back later and grab the questions. And I will actually put them in the show notes on the website. And in order to find them. Just go to the courage cast.com. Okay, so it doesn't really matter. If you are a seasoned coach, like if you've been doing this for a number of years, or you're a brand new entrepreneur, or an artist or a leader in corporate does not matter. These questions will work for you in every phase of your journey. Okay, so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to talk about creating something that lasts and what does that look like internally? Okay, how are you approaching what you're doing, whether it's creating a podcast, or a business or your leadership skills? So the first question is, how will you leave this space better than you found it? So what is it that you possibly could bring to the table that is actually going to add value or help others and make it better? So for an example, for me, when I think about even recording this podcast today, you know, me leaving the coaching space better than I found it is, you know, looking at people who are just, you know, out there just to solely make money, and really aren't providing the transformation. I want to be someone who is capable of making that money, and does have a thriving business and delivers on the transformation. Okay, so what does that look like for you? The second question would be, how are you growing and learning? Because if you are in this space, and you are actually adding value to other people, you're helping with their transformation, you're empowering them, then it's so important that you are taking that time for yourself to grow and learn. Maybe it's a new skill, maybe it's just really helping yourself to get better at communication, whatever it would be, what are you doing to grow and to learn? Number three, how are you showing up in integrity? So that means like something front facing, how are you talking about what you do, and how are you explaining to others? Are you showing them the power parts of your business that you want them to see, or you showing them everything. Oftentimes, we want to, we just want to show like, you know, the shiny bits, right? And we neglect to actually show everything. Now, I'm not saying that you have to show like all of your dirty laundry. However, when people are looking at, you know, hiring you when they want to be in business with you, they do want to know that you're real, honest and transparent. So if you're only showing up one way, and you never let other people see the other side of what you do, or how you are, then it's really not showing up in integrity at all. Number four, how are you adding value? So are you actually adding any kind of value to people? Or are you just trying to get them enrolled in something because you want to have a monetary gain? I'm going to, I'm going to bet that anybody listening to this podcast is not doing that. So? I don't think you are, but I'm just gonna put it in there anyways. Number five, how are you? How are you valuing? Number five? How are you valuing yourself? And how are you valuing others, because how you do that with yourself is really going to be how you do with others, and vice versa. So if you're like, never really valuing yourself, then it's probably, you know, then you're probably not going to value others, either. It's important that you take care of yourself, and then also take care of your clients and the people you work with. And then the last one is, how are you valuing your clients and collaborators? So that kind of goes hand in hand with the question before that? And how are you valuing yourself and others, it's really important that when you're building a business, and you're operating out of integrity, that you're asking yourself these, these really pivotal questions, so that you can really know that what you're offering is out of a place of integrity. So let me give you an example. Not that long ago, I was working with a coach who had had their copy, copied and reposted by a another coach. And this individual contacted me and was asking me like, What do you think about that? And what should I do? And so we had this conversation, but at the end of the day, what ended up happening was, it actually wasn't even the coach who did it, it was someone who worked for them, that did it. And then that coach ended up having to let that person go off their team. So it doesn't matter if you're a coach, your support team, you are in leadership, when you're when you are running a business, and when you are part of a team. Being in integrity is so important, because you never know who's watching. And you always want to add value in the best way possible. And that means that the value should come from you. Okay, so what safeguards do you have in place to ensure that your team is operating out of integrity? Okay, that's number one. And to go alongside of that, when it comes to safeguards, what are the safeguards you have in place to keep you in integrity when it comes to your finances? You don't have to share your finances with the world. In fact, it's nobody's business. But if you're talking about your finances online, is that really accurate? Or are you embellishing it, because if you're even embellishing it a bit, it really energetically comes across as really sleazy.

And so people will back away from that. So it's so important that when you are talking about money, or when you are that you're honest about that. And here's the thing, friend, you may have a hugely successful business, and you're like, I want to talk about all the money I'm making. And conversely, you might have a business where you've not made a cent. And, you know, it's like, oh, well, do I want to, you know, tell people that I'm making like 5k A month or no, just you don't have to be honest and say, I haven't made one penny out of this business, but don't project that you're something you're not. Okay. So it's it can be a fine line of like what to reveal when it comes to finances, but in the same way, make sure that you are not out of integrity when you're talking about that. Another question to ask yourself when things are not going so well is are you making excuses for yourself? Are you finding ways to Do not take ownership or responsibility for your actions or lack thereof. Are you keeping your word? Did you say you would do something and then you don't do it? Oftentimes, we want to, you know, say yes to everything. And then we ended up finding out that really, we can't do it. I mean, there have been oftentimes in my own business where I've had to go back on on something and say, you know, that's not going to work for me, and I'm sorry. And, and oftentimes, the reason why it's not working for me it was because I said yes, to something that really wasn't in alignment with me. And so when it came time to do it, it didn't feel good, I just couldn't follow through, and I ended up having to cancel on that person. And I'm really usually pretty good about following through with my commitments, even if I'm tired, or, you know, not feeling great or whatever. But when it comes to being in alignment, and when it comes to something that just doesn't feel energetically aligned, you really have to listen to your intuition on that, and be in integrity about it. The next one is how are you responding to haters? How are you responding to criticism? are you operating out of a place of integrity? You know, everyone approaches this a little bit differently, because you may have a personality that is a little bit more challenging, and you're willing to come back with a, you know, certain response style. For me, that's not necessarily me.

So I always have to be mindful of like, how am I approaching what someone's saying? Am I like, immediately coming back with like, a sassy response? Or am I communicating to them in a way that is in integrity with who I am? The next question is, are you dependable? So? Are you someone who follows through? Are you someone who people can count on? You know, often we work with peers and people, and they ask us to do something, and then, you know, we don't follow through, maybe we don't post something, maybe we, you know, forget, and we just are kind of like, you know, just focus on our own thing? Are you dependable? Do you have integrity, when it comes to following through? Are you able to take responsibility for your actions, or lack thereof? So if you're feeling as though you're not having results in your business, or something's going on? Are you in a place where you can take responsibility for that? Not blame it on someone else? Blame it on a circumstance blame it on a team member? But are you taking responsibility for what is going on in your business? And then the last one is, are you over exaggerating the positive? Or are you minimizing the negative? So you know, maybe you're like, Oh, we had so much success, and then you like, pump up the results. Or on the other side of it, you're like, never really sharing any of the results. Or on the other side of it, you're minimizing what is really negative, you know, within your business, okay? So just so that people don't see it. And it's like, it's never there. Being an integrity really means showing up as the most authentic version of yourself. So when it comes to these questions, you really want to take them from looking at, well, how do I want to operate within my business? And then the second half of the questions are really about what happens when the shit hits the fan, you know, what I'm saying? And how am I going to operate? And what am I going to do, because inevitably, things are going to go wrong in business, they're gonna go wrong in your, you know, in with whatever you're doing in a relationship when it comes to your peers, your clients, all that kind of stuff. So it's so important to know what you want to be doing and how you want to respond when it comes to running your business in a place of integrity. All right, friends. So I hope those questions were helpful for you today. You know, really operating out of integrity is all about having a mindset that we want to add value and to serve other people. And I think that's so important. And I know that's probably why you tuned into the courage cast, because you know that this is a place where we kind of tell it like it is we're honest, we're transparent. And, and so I'm just so grateful that you are here and that you're part of this community. And I would love to invite you if you've not already taken part in the mindset mentor circle, which is our free weekly call. Every Wednesday we meet at 12pm Eastern Standard Time. And it's a great supportive community where we talk about what our challenges and struggles are when it comes to mindset in our business. And oftentimes, you know, we don't really share, you know what's going on or any challenges that we might be having you're facing. So I want to encourage you to jump in on one of these calls. It's a great way number one to get support, but number two, to build a network and community. So I will leave the link in the show notes for you and I would love to have you anytime. Alright, friend. Thanks for hanging out with me today. And I can't wait until we meet again. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

We've all heard the same by Tony Robbins, what you focus on grows? But did you know that what you focus on also becomes your reality? If you were to take inventory of your life, and your business in every area right now, would you say that it is what you truly desire? If it's not, then maybe you need to take a look at what you are focusing on.

0:59
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast, my name is Andrea Crisp, and I am your host. And honestly, friend, I am so glad that you are joining me today you have so many different podcasts that could be in your ears that you could be listening to, that you could be filling your day with. And yet, here you are. And so I honestly just want to say, thank you, I appreciate that. And I just feel so honored that I could be on this journey with you. You know, as a mindset and confidence coach, you know, I'm constantly thinking about how I am creating my life, and what it is that I truly want. It's what I help my clients with it is what I focus on in my own life personally. And really, I think that when we have a gift that we want to share with the world, when we have a transformation that we truly want others to have in their own lives, then it's so important for us to be focused on what it is that we need to be focusing on. And so today I want to talk about what we focus on becoming our reality. Now, this became really apparent to me over the past couple of years, especially during the pandemic and then beyond. Because what I realized for myself was I was creating within my life, things I didn't even want, there were many times when I had really almost played a victim role. And, you know, made excuses for why I was in certain places why things hadn't happened, why I had, you know, toxic relationships, why my business wasn't growing? And what I started to realize that I actually had created that for myself. Absolutely, everything changed. And I became so aware that my thoughts are actually creating my reality. And I want to remind you today that the same goes for you, your thoughts, what you're thinking about, even right now is creating what you are experiencing. So how do we start to shift our focus? And what is it going to really produce in your life. And so I want to talk a little bit about five different areas where we can really focus and be more intentional about what we want to create, within our business, within our coaching practice, within our creativity on all of those things. Because I think it's so important that when you have intentionality around what it is that you truly, truly want to create, you will actually create that.

So first of all, I want to talk about how focus helps you to connect. Now, I am actually going to use an example from my own sales coach, which is Jillian Murphy. And she talks about this all the time, she talks about doing the one thing and for her, she has always talked about building her network and building her net worth through her network. And I have seen that so clearly within her business. I see how she builds community really strongly, how she is really intentional about her connections, how she is really actually building these relationships and cultivating them. Now, if we want to connect with people, if we want to attract the right people into our lives, the right relationships, friendships, clients, all those things, then we have to be really focused on what it is that you desire out of that connection, because you can make a connection, but it might not be worth anything. In fact, you might not even really want that particular connection. So just to say that you want to create connections is actually not going to really create exactly what you desire. So it's important for you to actually dial in what it is that you desire out of those specific connections. Do you want to make connections to grow your business? Do you want to make connections to grow yourself emotionally, spiritually, physically, what are the ways in which you desire to really have your, your reality manifest through those particular connections? When I think about cultivating connection within my own life, I know that I really want that authenticity, I have no time for people who are not going to connect on a deep level, who really are very surfacey are there for their own gain. And for me, it's become one of those things where I can recognize it right away, I can see it for what it is. And I just don't have any desire for that type of connection. So I'm really intentional about creating focused connections with people who I truly believe are going to be the right people. For me. Another way focus can help you is really focusing on collaboration. And what does that look like when you are collaborating? So maybe that's, you know, doing IG lives or podcast tour? Or maybe that looks a little bit like, you know, doing a business arrangement with somebody or, you know, building a program with someone else? What does that look like when you are collaborating? And what is the intention behind what you desire to create through that collaboration, there were times when I, you know, exchanged surfaces at the beginning of my coaching, because I knew that I couldn't do everything myself. And so I would coach people for free. And they would actually do things for me, like copy design, there are so many things that I exchanged services for. And I was very intentional about what it is that I needed, and why I needed it and created some pretty amazing things. Because I was intentional and focused on what it is that I desired through that collaboration. Another way you can focus is when it comes to your creativity. Now as online entrepreneurs, multi passionate people, you know, you were constantly creating multiple things, maybe you have multiple streams of income, maybe it's, you know, you're a an author, alongside a content marketer alongside a podcaster. Alongside a course creator, there are always things that you are disseminating information or you are actually putting your ideas out into the world. But when we are you know, just thinking, Okay, I want to sit down and I want to just, you know, write today? Well, I mean, what does that mean? Like? Are you going to just waste time writing for writing sake? I mean, is that the intention? What do you truly want to focus on? Is there something that you desire to see manifest through your creativity? Do you want to see people transformed through what you're writing through what you're putting out? Do you want to see people inspired, encouraged, uplifted? What is it that you desire to see, through your creation, through your creativity, when you become focused on the intention around creating, then you're actually allowing yourself to really flow in that creativity? Now, here's the thing. Many people would say, Well, you know, that's kind of putting a box myself in a box when it comes to creativity. No, it's just being very clear with God universe, as to what it is you desire to create, so that you can have that flow of creativity come to you in order to bring that into the world. The next thing is focusing on communication.

Now, as coaches, entrepreneurs, people in the online world, we are constantly communicating our messaging. We are constantly communicating through what we put out in, in our online profiles in our emails in our podcasts, and we are Communicating with our friends and family. So what is the intention around what you desire to communicate? Maybe you're feeling you know, like, as though you're not really getting the support you need from your friends or from your family. And you're thinking, you know, I would love to communicate that I need no more support when it comes to my time or my boundaries, or what ever it is that you really need. at that specific time in your life, when you are focused and intentional upon really stating what it is that you desire, putting it out there being very clear about what it is that you want, then you will also attract that back to you. Oftentimes, we don't even need to actually have the conversation. Because when we are clear about communicating our desires, even just to the universe, the universe delivers. And it's amazing what happens. When we are doing that I saw this, just actually the other day with one of my clients. She had something happen in her business where there was another coach that copied her material. And she sent me a message and said, Well, what is this? What should I do? What should I do with this? And I said, Well, what would it look like for you to communicate this particular frustration to this other person? Well, here's the thing. She never even had to do that, because that person then communicated to her and apologized. So that is how this works, right? We're very clear and focused on what it is that we desire through our communication. And sometimes we don't actually even have to use the words. And then the last one is really being focused and intentional about coaching, and about really staying in your own lane. Now, I know that as coaches, entrepreneurs, that you truly do want to help other people have a transformation. And oftentimes, we want to do everything, we want to be everything to everyone. But when you're focused, really truly on what it is that you have to offer, the transformation that you're helping others with, you will see that the universe delivers those people back to you, helps you to really call in the people who are ready for your coaching, ready for what you have and ready to move forward in their own lives. Versus really just like taking anyone at any time and hoping for the best. So it's so important that we focus intentionally on what it is that we desire. And if you're finding right now, as though you are not really creating what you desire in your life, maybe you don't have the connections you want. They don't seem to be very authentic, or you don't really have those kinds of collaborations or podcasts opportunities, or you're you're finding that you're consistently consistently blocked when it comes to creating content or creating things, or you lack the ability to communicate what it is you desire. Or you're not really even able to walk your clients through a process that feels really good. I want to encourage you to take a step back and actually see what are you focusing on. only choose one of these areas at a time to truly set intention around. Because when you focus on one thing, and you set intention for one aspect of what it is that you truly desire, you're actually going to create a domino effect for everything else. So you don't have to focus on everything. Focus on one thing, allow it to manifest in your life and watch it create more of what you desire. Okay, friend, I hope you found that helpful today, I'm so glad that you join me. If we haven't already connected, I would love to connect with you offline. Every Wednesday I host the mindset mentor circle, and it is a free group coaching. That is free. Yeah, absolutely. We have mindset support. And really, it's a great opportunity to drop in to check it out and to really see what is going on offline in my world. So I will leave the link in the show notes for you to connect with me. And you're free to come anytime. Until next time. Remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

Now, here's your host, mindset and confidence coach, author, and your secret weapon.

0:54
Hey there, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea crisp, and I am your host. And I am so glad that you are joining me today. It was an amazing long weekend, I hope that you had such a great time celebrating whether you find yourself in Canada, celebrating Canada Day on July 1, or you're in the USA, and you are celebrating Independence Day on July 4. I just love this weekend, it's just a great time to you know, just set things aside and to really spend time with family. But it was also an opportunity for me to launch one of my signature programs, which I am so excited about the confidence accelerator is back and the doors are open. And we are actually going to be kicking off on July 14. And I have been waiting an entire year to bring this program back to you. And I am so excited to share a little bit today about the program but also to share with you about how you might be holding yourself back from showing up confidently in your life and in your business. Now the reason why I say in your life and in your business is because I believe that when you are showing up in your life one way, you are also going to show up in your business that way, and vice versa. So it is interconnected. Everything we do in life and business really impacts the other. And so if you are shrinking back when it comes to relationships in your life, then it's entirely possible that you're shrinking back from really calling in soul aligned clients in your business or people that you want to collaborate with, or just opportunities that feel really good for you. And there are a lot of reasons why we tend to hold ourselves back. And I want to talk about some of those reasons. And why it is so important that we begin to shift our subconscious beliefs around these things. Now, when I first started coaching, this was not the work I did, I actually started working with women on really discovering their purpose. And this was a great place for me to start because I was passionate about helping people really discover what they were lit up by, and helping them move towards it.

3:36
But as I started moving in that direction, and I saw more and more women discover their purpose, I was seeing that so many of them, were not taking action. And they were just kind of allowing their purpose to kind of shrivel up and die, so to speak. And it was really hard to watch. And I started to feel a bit frustrated about it and think, you know, why are so many of these women that I'm coaching, not actually doing the things that they desire. And yet on the flip side, there were so many of my clients who were so I started to take a look at, well, what is actually the difference between the people who do and the people who don't. And this is really where it comes down to confidence. And confidence can encompass many, many different things. But really, it's all about shifting those subconscious beliefs, stories, narratives, things that you have believed to be true about your life. Now I talk a lot about this because I think it is so important. It's the mindset work.

4:52
It's the inner work that will really take you to the next level and that is what we're doing in the competence accelerated are. So not only are we going to take action, and we're going to ignite the purpose and passion in your life, but we're also going to uncover what has been holding you back and shift that mindset. So we're going to first start off by talking about impostor syndrome. Right? Now, if you've been in this industry for any length of time, it is entirely possible that you have bumped up against feeling like a fraud, feeling like you do not belong here, right? Now, I remember when I first started speaking, and I was asked to speak at different events. There were times where I honestly would show up and I think, you know, what, I don't really belong here, like, do they really know who I am, and that I'm not qualified to do this. And there were so many times where I just disqualified myself from even taking the opportunity to speak in front of other people. Because I felt as though I was a fraud and imposter. And it wasn't until I really had this kind of like, come to Jesus moment, so to speak, where I really felt as though if I didn't start speaking on my own platforms and sharing what my message was, then how can I really expect to be asked to speak on other people's stages, podcasts events. So it was up to me to really set the stage for who I wanted to be. And to actually build the table and say, This is where I am. This is my platform, my stage, my table, and I want to invite you into this space. And once I did that, I realized that you know what, I belong here. And I have just as much right? To be here as anyone else.

6:57
So if you're feeling a lot like that, I want to invite you to think about well, where are you sharing your message right now? Is it through your copy? Is it through a podcast, writing a book, maybe it is speaking live on stages, or going to retreats and doing work through that maybe it's actually through some sort of creative process. Maybe it's through coaching, and doing programs, whatever it looks like for you. I want to encourage you to speak up and actually hold space for yourself. Another way that we can really step back when it comes to confidence is the fear of failure. You know, that inevitable thing of like, well, what if right?

7:44
We have so many of those scenarios that go over and over and our minds like, well, what if this happens, or what if that happens, and so often we're actually making all these assumptions in these things that are never actually going to happen. But when we focus on that, and we focus on the possibility of what could go wrong all the time, then we are actually inviting that into our lives. And so I want to encourage you to to kind of take a step back from that. And go ask yourself the question, what if I succeed? What if this becomes really something amazing that people want and love and want to jump into or what if people really want me to speak at their events, or be on their podcast or host an event, whatever it is, whatever it looks like for you start shifting the what ifs from failure to the possibilities. The third thing is the feeling of lack. And that feeling of lack. When we focus on what it is that we don't have? Well, we're going to attract more of that, we're going to attract more of what we don't have. So if we don't have clients, or we don't have money, or we don't have opportunity, and we focus on those things, well, it's probably going to be inevitable that you attract none of those things.

9:09
And so you're just going to find yourself in the same position over and over again. And this is something that I have really struggled with, and just only recently started to realize that I was focusing on the lack of things. And it was a monumental shift in my mindset to really start to focus on what it is that I desire, holding that emotion and really being in that space to hold for what it is that I truly want. Number four would be those feelings of not being enough. And that really stems from insecurity, right? It stems from possibly a subconscious belief somewhere along the way, maybe in childhood, maybe from your family of origin, perhaps even just something in yourself. That makes you

10:00
You really take a look inward and go, You know what, I'm just not good enough, what I do is not good enough, I'll never be important, or I'll never be enough of this. And when we are really, really focusing inward on self in this way, it actually keeps us from really making that transformation, and helping others in their lives. So I want to encourage you to shift that belief, that subconscious belief from feeling like you're not enough to really starting to say, How can I really be a catalyst of transformation in the lives of other people. Now, conversely, to not being enough or feeling like you're not enough, is the feeling of being too much.

10:48
Now, this subconscious belief can often stem from, you know, being told to shop or, you know, you're too much or you need to, you know, calm down or, and there's a lot of people who have big personalities, or they are bold, or they are, you know, always talking extroverted, maybe, you know, they were somebody in the class that was always speaking up for things, and people told them to be quiet. Maybe that's you, maybe you were in a position in your own life where people were like, trying to tell you to dial it down. And it created within you a subconscious belief that whenever you talk, whenever you share, whenever you offer something, people are gonna be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, that is too much. Right. And so every time you feel as though you're doing something, you feel as though you need to pull back. Well, that is a subconscious belief that you can shift and you can really find what it is that you truly can learn from that, and shift that belief in your life, because you're not too much.

11:54
The next one is comparison. Now, it does not matter how successful you get when it comes to comparison, because there's always people that are doing bigger, better, and more amazing things than you are. And that's okay, because it just gives us something to look at, to strive for, and to say, You know what, that's possible when someone else is doing it, that means that I can do it as well. But when you're focusing too much on what somebody else is doing, or whether or not you know, they like you, or whether or not, you know, they want to be part of your world, and you're comparing yourself to like another person in the industry and other speaker and other podcasts or another coach, then you're finding that you're always looking at what they're doing. You're trying to assess, you know, should I do things differently? What if I show up this way, will people like me more. And that really actually moves you out of a place of confidence and into a place really as though you were acting as someone else. And people see right through that, they don't want it. And so I just encourage you stay in your own lane. Don't worry about what other people are doing. And the last one I want, the last one that I want to talk to you today about is really about boundaries, setting these really good parameters for yourself.

13:12
This came up for me today, I was actually asked to host someone on Instagram Live. And I've actually, you know, worked with this individual before. But for some reason, I was feeling as though it wasn't really aligning anymore. And the more I kind of like, felt into that, the more I realized that this person was really crossing some of my boundaries. And I wasn't really being upfront about those boundaries. And I was continually saying yes, even though I was feeling that pressure, I was feeling that it was not congruent with me anymore. I was feeling like it was out of alignment. And it was really draining my energy. Now when we are in a place where we don't have those boundaries, and we can't say no, or we can't say yes to the things we want to do, because we feel as though we have to appease someone or get their approval or validation for some reason. It really just detracts from us showing up as the most confident version of ourselves. So here's what happened in this. In this scenario. I ended up telling the person because they kept changing the time. I said this is the time available, and when they didn't like that time and still wanted a different one even though they needed my help. I said no. And when I said no, there was pushback.

14:52
So I created a boundary and that person then pushed back on my boundary, which then caused me to have to then create or enforce a stronger boundary. And the more I had to enforce that boundary, the more confident I became. Because I started to realize that no is an acceptable answer. And if I say, No, I don't have to have a reason for now. And oftentimes we find ourselves trying to appease everybody else, trying to do the things that they want us to do, or we think they want us to do, because we just want to be seen as someone who has it all together, who is likable, you know, all the things, right.

15:48
But when you have those boundaries, and you set those boundaries for yourself, you are actually stepping into the most confident version of yourself. So maybe you're struggling with any of those things impostor syndrome, fear of failure, feelings of lack not being enough, being too much, maybe you're comparing yourself, or maybe you feel like you don't have any boundaries. I feel like you're saying yes to everything.

16:14
I want to encourage you, that whatever it is, you can identify where that belief originated. And there is something to be learned from that belief. And when you do that, it will shift your belief system around what is possible, and you will really be able to step confidently into who you are becoming in your business and who you're becoming in your life. And in the confidence accelerator, that is one of the first things that we do. So not only are we going to challenge you to take aligned steps of action, and really move forward, but we're going to take the time to really hone in on what is actually holding you back from taking the steps confidently in your life, and in your business. So if this is something that you want to hear more about, I would encourage you to go to the link in my bio, and you can click on the confidence accelerator, and you'll be able to pull up all of the information. We kick off July 14. And so there is still space available for you.

17:30
And I would love to have you be a part of it. And if this is something that you're like, you know, I don't know, maybe this is the right fit, maybe it's not, then I also encourage you to set up a time to chat with me and I would love to talk with you to see if this is the right fit for you. So make sure you go to the show notes. Or you can go to my website. And you can check out the competence accelerator and I would love to talk more about it with you. Friend, thank you so much for being here today. I am so just like so honored that you do the journey with me every single week. And until next time. Remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

You're listening to the courage cast a show to equip and empower you to live bravely. Each week, we'll share solo episodes and conversations with amazing people who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose, with a blend of practical and spiritual advice will help you take brave steps in your own life. Now, here's your host, mindset and confidence coach, author, and your secret weapon.

0:49
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am so glad that you are joining me today. You know, it is one of the most exciting things I do in the world, I think, is recording these podcast episodes, I have been doing it almost five years, it'll be five years in August. And it is literally, you know, something I look forward to every single week. Because I find that when we are spending this time together, it is a way for me to be able to just share with you things that I'm learning in my life, things that come up in my client sessions with the clients I work with on mindset or confidence, and really helping you to move the needle forward in your own life and in your own business. And so today, I really wanted to focus on what does it look like to truly be confident. Now, you may know this already, but I run a program called the confidence accelerator. And the competence accelerator is really geared towards podcasters, coaches, authors, speakers, people who want to show up in their life in business in a whole new way, and bring an energy that is unique to them and completely authentic to them. And if there's anything that I have seen over the past few years, especially when it comes to so many people being online, is that there are so many people doing the same things over and over and over and over again. And although that does work, and people can show up that way, really, when you start to show up in an energy that feels unique to you and is really grounded in who you are. That is when you are going to attract the people into your life, the clients into your life that you truly desire to work with. And so I wanted to share with you, what I have been implementing, and some of the things that I've been talking to my clients about when it comes to upgrading your consciousness in order to upgrade your competence. So the very first thing is fun. Now, you know, when we think about business, we think about, you know, working online, or what maybe you're putting out into the world, it's like, yeah, it's fun. But are you really, truly enjoying what you're doing? Are you doing things to do them? Are you doing things because people told you to do them? Or does it truly, really energize you and feel fun to you?

I have been working with different mentors in my life and, you know, people who are getting me to step out of the box and encouraging me in new things. And oftentimes, I have to try to distinguish between does this make me feel uncomfortable? And eventually it'll be fun? Or is this just not fun at all. And only you really know what feels fun in your life. And so whether it's something that you're doing in your business, or it's something you're doing in your life, when you begin to bring more fun into your everyday life, you're going to start raising the vibration and the frequency to attract people, clients that you truly want to work with. And that is also going to reveal a level of confidence that people seeing you because there's something about you that just feels amazing. The second thing is belief. Now, we do a lot of things in our worlds in everyday life that we kind of buy into, but don't really buy into. So when you think about your level of belief around what is possible, and about really showing up with confidence. What is

Your level. So if you were to like rate it on a scale of zero to 10, zero being the lowest, what would you say? The number is? I mean, if I'm being honest, there are times when I feel like I'm showing up at a three, I don't feel confident at all, maybe I just, you know, feel terrible about something, maybe there's something on my mind. But in other circumstances, I show up. And I feel like, you know, I'm somewhere between like an eight and a 10. I just feel super, super confident. But it's really all stems from, who do we believe we are? And can we believe that we can be confident in who we are, and what we have to offer the world. The third thing that we can take a look at is the energy in which we are showing up every single day. I said this to a client actually just today, and I said, you know, less is more, if you are showing up less amount of times, but in an energy that is attractive to people, then you're going to attract the right people, versus trying to show up more, trying to do more, trying to you know, do all of the things show how amazing you are to the world. And yet, the energy just is not attractive. So you want to know, what is the energy that you want to be showing up in? And I've also had this conversation with my own coach. And we talked about, you know, people in the industry, who are showing up, you know, in, like, you know, they're showing up in their vacay pictures, or they're like, you know, here's my me and my bikini and, you know, here's how you be confident and blah, blah, blah. And it's like, I don't feel that that's not my energy. So it's really important to understand, what is your energy? What are you bringing, so perhaps it's not that you're showing up like a top model, or like you've got everything, picture perfect, because maybe things aren't picture perfect for you. And you don't want to attract people who want things to be picture perfect in their life. So it's really about what energy are you showing up in, and is that truly authentic. The fourth thing is all about self acceptance, or self love. Now, this is thrown around a lot. And I used to be like, Oh, whatever self, self love, whatever, blah, blah, blah.

But until you start to truly have compassion for yourself, and love who you are, and really allow yourself to be seen as you are in every way, whether it is perfect or not. And really allow yourself to extend love to yourself, that is not going to really attract the type of people you want into your life. And it shows a lack of confidence when you are not really loving who you are. So if that's something that you struggle with, I would say probably one of the first things that you want to do is you want to take a look at how much am I really showing myself self acceptance, and self love. And then the fifth thing would be freedom. So when you are experiencing a level of freedom, it attracts more freedom into your life. So creating space in your life for the things you love, allowing yourself, you know time and space to explore or do new things, or just really just try things that are different, try on things for size and see whether or not it is that you really liked them or not. And having a sense of freedom. Because if we're locked into something all the time, and we're trying to do it the same way over and over and over and over again. Well, that all that does is translates to, you know, it has to be a certain way, and that does not come across confident at all.

And really upgrading your consciousness to a level of confidence is going to be about what's under the surface right? So you haven't fun? Do you believe it's possible? What energy are you showing up in? Are you showing yourself self acceptance and self love? And are you giving yourself space and freedom to truly grow? Now, of course, I have to talk to you about five things that you can release as well, right? Because in order to make space for these things, it's entirely possible that you might have all of those places filled up already with things that need to go. So the first one and this is a hard one. It's a hard one for me. Maybe it's not hard for you but should

I have to need to all of the coulda, shoulda, woulda has or the ways in which we perceive things needed to be done or need to be done. So something that I used to say all the time I was super guilty of, I was around a lot of people who would say that you should do this, you should do that. And I kind of adopted that way of speaking, this is years and years ago, and I remember my mom calling me out on it and being like, Andrea, you've got to stop saying that, and it really was true. But when we're shutting ourselves, then it's really like keeping us in a place that what we're doing is not right, and what we're doing needs to be judged. So the second thing is really letting go of the opinions of others, whether they be your friends, your family members, your well meaning peers, coaches, even people you are working very close with, at the end of the day, you really want to be listening to your own intuition, and trusting your own instincts. And so releasing the opinions of others is going to help you to hear what is right for you. The fourth thing is judgment of your self. Now, we often find that in this space, we can find ourselves judging what other people are doing. And usually that is a judgment of ourselves, and what maybe we're lacking or what we don't like about ourselves. But when we let go of that judgment of ourselves, you'll see that you stop judging other people as well.

The fourth thing is being on all the time, it's almost like you know, you have to be present to be available, be you know, the go to person, someone who is constantly on, not ever giving yourself permission to shut down to get fueled up to really have that time and space for yourself. So we you definitely want to release the need to be on. And then the fifth thing is releasing what that barrier of entry looks like, into your world. I think sometimes we're overthinking everything, making it way too complex and way too difficult for people to actually get into our world. And when we just show up as ourselves, and we give other people room to show up as themselves, we will have that synergy. And be able to attract who it is that we want into our lives, who it is we want into our business. And all of a sudden people are gonna be like you are just seems so much more confident. You're sharing so much more confidently in your stories and in your podcast, and your writing has shifted and changed. And it all stems from really being in a place where you are allowing FUN into your life, where you're raising your level of belief, where you're showing up in the right energy, where you're extending self love and acceptance. And you're allowing yourself the space to truly grow and expand and be who you are created to be. I hope that helps you today. And that you can really step and upgrade your consciousness to a level of confidence that really attracts who you desire into your life.
