Hello friends. Welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp. I'm your host. I am a mindset and confidence coach. I am an author, a speaker, and I am the host of this amazing podcast which we are celebrating today, our fifth year anniversary, which is crazy. It is so crazy. I cannot even believe it. I was thinking about this when I was set to record this podcast episode. And almost like there's no way. There's simply no way. When I first started recording the podcast. Those of you who may have been with me during those days, I was recording in a condo, downtown Toronto, where there was always sirens in the background street noise street cars. There were people in the hallway there were renovations taking place in the next door condo unit for months. There were moments that literally, in order to get a podcast recorded, I had to take all of my gear down into the parking garage in the middle of the night when there would be very few people driving and record the podcast posit every time a car would drive by just to get a podcast episode recorded. It was crazy. And of course, there were times where I had, you know, interviews that didn't go right that I had to scrap or I had to rerecord whole sections of the podcast because the audio was not good. You name it. It has happened within this five years. But honestly, if I could tell you one thing, that is something that I have really grown and learned from this experience from from five years is that it gets sweeter with time. And oftentimes we want just like massive results when it comes to doing things in our lives. But really, the beauty of what we get to do in this space, especially when it comes to creating something is the growth and expansion that takes place in our own lives. And I can honestly say that is so true for my life, the growth and expansion that has taken place because I have continued to record podcasts weekly, and put them out. Honestly, I don't even know what my life would have been like had I not done this. And so I get to share with you bits and pieces of my journey every week. But today, I want to kind of turn the tables. And you know, you've tuned in maybe to one episode, maybe too many episodes. But friend, what is it in your life? That is your big dream? Like what is happening, that you're still sitting on? Maybe you've done a lot of things, but there's like one thing that you just wish would happen? Why are you hesitating on that? What are you waiting for? When I first started the podcast, it took me an entire year to get started and to convince myself because I was in my head overthinking the process. You know, obviously I didn't know what I was doing. But besides that, I was really hung up on this whole notion that no one would want to listen. And there are times you know five years later where all Could I download for an episode? And it's, you know, not very high? And I'm like, Oh, well, you know, not very many people listen to that episode. But at the end of the day, a lot of what I'm doing now, I am putting out because I am trusting that there is even one person who is going to be impacted by an episode.
That even if I share this for one person's benefit, that it's worth it. So, friend, I want to just ask you that question. If you knew that even one person could be impacted by what it is that you have to put into the world, would that be enough for you to just get started? Because often we look at these, you know, incredible results that people are having, and all the money and success that maybe is coming into their life. But at the end of the day, it's really truly about the impact that we're making. And if there's nothing else that I have learned about this journey, podcasting, and showing up every single week, it is that no matter what happens, there will be one life touched or impacted. Because I decided to sit in front of a microphone and press record. So maybe you've been thinking about, you know, what that would look like for your life? Maybe it's to start your own podcast. And maybe you you know, are hesitating because you're like, Well, I'm not really sure what to do. I'll tell you what, friend, there's so many credible people out there that can help you get a podcast started. And it's a lot easier now than it has ever been. And people are still binging content. And if you're a female, and you're listening to the podcast, did you know that only 20% of podcasters are females. So there is so much room for you in this space. And so I want to encourage you to get out there and start your podcast. But maybe you're like, Well, no, maybe it's not a podcast, maybe it's like I want to write a book or become a speaker or I want to empower others through you know, becoming a coach or a therapist or doing something that really motivates other people or moves them to action. Well, I have to say this, in order to do that, you have to be moved to action first. It starts with a dream. But then you have to see that dream come to life by taking aligned action in your life. And yes, there are going to be ups and downs, there are going to be detours, there are going to be roadblocks, and oftentimes you probably might want to quit. But at the end of the day, when you know that this dream is going to have an impact in the lives of other people. It's worth it to keep going. So whatever it is that is on your heart to do, I just want to encourage you to take that step. Live bravely. Do the courageous thing. Because somebody needs what you have to offer. And here's the thing. You know, if you've done all those things, you're like Andrew, I wrote a book. Andrew, I'm a speaker, Andrew, I already have a podcast, I have a thriving business, all the things, there's still more for you. You don't get to just stop there. You're always moving
into that next level version of yourself in every level requires more courage. And every level requires you to do the work the inner healing to really move yourself into that future version of yourself. So whatever it is that still out there for you to do, because I know that there is something in you what you can't tell me otherwise, because I 100% even know for myself, there are still more things for me to do that require me to have that kind of courage to actually take those steps. Who do you need to become in order for that to take place? And just today as I was taking a walk and I was thinking about recording this episode, which is episode 224 It's the fifth year episode. I was thinking you know what Adria there's still so much more for you. There's more for you when it comes to your gifts, your talents, your abilities, your ability to cultivate community, your ability to come communicate with other people. And I was encouraging myself that what I'm doing is not enough, there's still more. So I want to encourage you today that there is still more for you. So in celebrating our fifth anniversary of the courage cast, I want to say thank you, number one for being here, for being on this journey with me for allowing me to be on this journey with you. And I want to encourage you that the best is 100% yet to be fulfilled in your life, but you have to have courage to get out there and make it happen. Now, of course, I would be remiss to not thank the people who have helped me along the way, my friends, my family, and of course, my good friend and partner, Steven Crilley, who has every week, every single week, mixed and mastered this podcast, put his own original music, and produced every episode. It's been an honor to do the journey with him. And it's been an honor to do the journey with you, friend, I love you. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.
