We've all heard the same by Tony Robbins, what you focus on grows? But did you know that what you focus on also becomes your reality? If you were to take inventory of your life, and your business in every area right now, would you say that it is what you truly desire? If it's not, then maybe you need to take a look at what you are focusing on.

Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast, my name is Andrea Crisp, and I am your host. And honestly, friend, I am so glad that you are joining me today you have so many different podcasts that could be in your ears that you could be listening to, that you could be filling your day with. And yet, here you are. And so I honestly just want to say, thank you, I appreciate that. And I just feel so honored that I could be on this journey with you. You know, as a mindset and confidence coach, you know, I'm constantly thinking about how I am creating my life, and what it is that I truly want. It's what I help my clients with it is what I focus on in my own life personally. And really, I think that when we have a gift that we want to share with the world, when we have a transformation that we truly want others to have in their own lives, then it's so important for us to be focused on what it is that we need to be focusing on. And so today I want to talk about what we focus on becoming our reality. Now, this became really apparent to me over the past couple of years, especially during the pandemic and then beyond. Because what I realized for myself was I was creating within my life, things I didn't even want, there were many times when I had really almost played a victim role. And, you know, made excuses for why I was in certain places why things hadn't happened, why I had, you know, toxic relationships, why my business wasn't growing? And what I started to realize that I actually had created that for myself. Absolutely, everything changed. And I became so aware that my thoughts are actually creating my reality. And I want to remind you today that the same goes for you, your thoughts, what you're thinking about, even right now is creating what you are experiencing. So how do we start to shift our focus? And what is it going to really produce in your life. And so I want to talk a little bit about five different areas where we can really focus and be more intentional about what we want to create, within our business, within our coaching practice, within our creativity on all of those things. Because I think it's so important that when you have intentionality around what it is that you truly, truly want to create, you will actually create that.

So first of all, I want to talk about how focus helps you to connect. Now, I am actually going to use an example from my own sales coach, which is Jillian Murphy. And she talks about this all the time, she talks about doing the one thing and for her, she has always talked about building her network and building her net worth through her network. And I have seen that so clearly within her business. I see how she builds community really strongly, how she is really intentional about her connections, how she is really actually building these relationships and cultivating them. Now, if we want to connect with people, if we want to attract the right people into our lives, the right relationships, friendships, clients, all those things, then we have to be really focused on what it is that you desire out of that connection, because you can make a connection, but it might not be worth anything. In fact, you might not even really want that particular connection. So just to say that you want to create connections is actually not going to really create exactly what you desire. So it's important for you to actually dial in what it is that you desire out of those specific connections. Do you want to make connections to grow your business? Do you want to make connections to grow yourself emotionally, spiritually, physically, what are the ways in which you desire to really have your, your reality manifest through those particular connections? When I think about cultivating connection within my own life, I know that I really want that authenticity, I have no time for people who are not going to connect on a deep level, who really are very surfacey are there for their own gain. And for me, it's become one of those things where I can recognize it right away, I can see it for what it is. And I just don't have any desire for that type of connection. So I'm really intentional about creating focused connections with people who I truly believe are going to be the right people. For me. Another way focus can help you is really focusing on collaboration. And what does that look like when you are collaborating? So maybe that's, you know, doing IG lives or podcast tour? Or maybe that looks a little bit like, you know, doing a business arrangement with somebody or, you know, building a program with someone else? What does that look like when you are collaborating? And what is the intention behind what you desire to create through that collaboration, there were times when I, you know, exchanged surfaces at the beginning of my coaching, because I knew that I couldn't do everything myself. And so I would coach people for free. And they would actually do things for me, like copy design, there are so many things that I exchanged services for. And I was very intentional about what it is that I needed, and why I needed it and created some pretty amazing things. Because I was intentional and focused on what it is that I desired through that collaboration. Another way you can focus is when it comes to your creativity. Now as online entrepreneurs, multi passionate people, you know, you were constantly creating multiple things, maybe you have multiple streams of income, maybe it's, you know, you're a an author, alongside a content marketer alongside a podcaster. Alongside a course creator, there are always things that you are disseminating information or you are actually putting your ideas out into the world. But when we are you know, just thinking, Okay, I want to sit down and I want to just, you know, write today? Well, I mean, what does that mean? Like? Are you going to just waste time writing for writing sake? I mean, is that the intention? What do you truly want to focus on? Is there something that you desire to see manifest through your creativity? Do you want to see people transformed through what you're writing through what you're putting out? Do you want to see people inspired, encouraged, uplifted? What is it that you desire to see, through your creation, through your creativity, when you become focused on the intention around creating, then you're actually allowing yourself to really flow in that creativity? Now, here's the thing. Many people would say, Well, you know, that's kind of putting a box myself in a box when it comes to creativity. No, it's just being very clear with God universe, as to what it is you desire to create, so that you can have that flow of creativity come to you in order to bring that into the world. The next thing is focusing on communication.

Now, as coaches, entrepreneurs, people in the online world, we are constantly communicating our messaging. We are constantly communicating through what we put out in, in our online profiles in our emails in our podcasts, and we are Communicating with our friends and family. So what is the intention around what you desire to communicate? Maybe you're feeling you know, like, as though you're not really getting the support you need from your friends or from your family. And you're thinking, you know, I would love to communicate that I need no more support when it comes to my time or my boundaries, or what ever it is that you really need. at that specific time in your life, when you are focused and intentional upon really stating what it is that you desire, putting it out there being very clear about what it is that you want, then you will also attract that back to you. Oftentimes, we don't even need to actually have the conversation. Because when we are clear about communicating our desires, even just to the universe, the universe delivers. And it's amazing what happens. When we are doing that I saw this, just actually the other day with one of my clients. She had something happen in her business where there was another coach that copied her material. And she sent me a message and said, Well, what is this? What should I do? What should I do with this? And I said, Well, what would it look like for you to communicate this particular frustration to this other person? Well, here's the thing. She never even had to do that, because that person then communicated to her and apologized. So that is how this works, right? We're very clear and focused on what it is that we desire through our communication. And sometimes we don't actually even have to use the words. And then the last one is really being focused and intentional about coaching, and about really staying in your own lane. Now, I know that as coaches, entrepreneurs, that you truly do want to help other people have a transformation. And oftentimes, we want to do everything, we want to be everything to everyone. But when you're focused, really truly on what it is that you have to offer, the transformation that you're helping others with, you will see that the universe delivers those people back to you, helps you to really call in the people who are ready for your coaching, ready for what you have and ready to move forward in their own lives. Versus really just like taking anyone at any time and hoping for the best. So it's so important that we focus intentionally on what it is that we desire. And if you're finding right now, as though you are not really creating what you desire in your life, maybe you don't have the connections you want. They don't seem to be very authentic, or you don't really have those kinds of collaborations or podcasts opportunities, or you're you're finding that you're consistently consistently blocked when it comes to creating content or creating things, or you lack the ability to communicate what it is you desire. Or you're not really even able to walk your clients through a process that feels really good. I want to encourage you to take a step back and actually see what are you focusing on. only choose one of these areas at a time to truly set intention around. Because when you focus on one thing, and you set intention for one aspect of what it is that you truly desire, you're actually going to create a domino effect for everything else. So you don't have to focus on everything. Focus on one thing, allow it to manifest in your life and watch it create more of what you desire. Okay, friend, I hope you found that helpful today, I'm so glad that you join me. If we haven't already connected, I would love to connect with you offline. Every Wednesday I host the mindset mentor circle, and it is a free group coaching. That is free. Yeah, absolutely. We have mindset support. And really, it's a great opportunity to drop in to check it out and to really see what is going on offline in my world. So I will leave the link in the show notes for you to connect with me. And you're free to come anytime. Until next time. Remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

0:54
Hey there, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea crisp, and I am your host. And I am so glad that you are joining me today. It was an amazing long weekend, I hope that you had such a great time celebrating whether you find yourself in Canada, celebrating Canada Day on July 1, or you're in the USA, and you are celebrating Independence Day on July 4. I just love this weekend, it's just a great time to you know, just set things aside and to really spend time with family. But it was also an opportunity for me to launch one of my signature programs, which I am so excited about the confidence accelerator is back and the doors are open. And we are actually going to be kicking off on July 14. And I have been waiting an entire year to bring this program back to you. And I am so excited to share a little bit today about the program but also to share with you about how you might be holding yourself back from showing up confidently in your life and in your business. Now the reason why I say in your life and in your business is because I believe that when you are showing up in your life one way, you are also going to show up in your business that way, and vice versa. So it is interconnected. Everything we do in life and business really impacts the other. And so if you are shrinking back when it comes to relationships in your life, then it's entirely possible that you're shrinking back from really calling in soul aligned clients in your business or people that you want to collaborate with, or just opportunities that feel really good for you. And there are a lot of reasons why we tend to hold ourselves back. And I want to talk about some of those reasons. And why it is so important that we begin to shift our subconscious beliefs around these things. Now, when I first started coaching, this was not the work I did, I actually started working with women on really discovering their purpose. And this was a great place for me to start because I was passionate about helping people really discover what they were lit up by, and helping them move towards it.

3:36
But as I started moving in that direction, and I saw more and more women discover their purpose, I was seeing that so many of them, were not taking action. And they were just kind of allowing their purpose to kind of shrivel up and die, so to speak. And it was really hard to watch. And I started to feel a bit frustrated about it and think, you know, why are so many of these women that I'm coaching, not actually doing the things that they desire. And yet on the flip side, there were so many of my clients who were so I started to take a look at, well, what is actually the difference between the people who do and the people who don't. And this is really where it comes down to confidence. And confidence can encompass many, many different things. But really, it's all about shifting those subconscious beliefs, stories, narratives, things that you have believed to be true about your life. Now I talk a lot about this because I think it is so important. It's the mindset work.

4:52
It's the inner work that will really take you to the next level and that is what we're doing in the competence accelerated are. So not only are we going to take action, and we're going to ignite the purpose and passion in your life, but we're also going to uncover what has been holding you back and shift that mindset. So we're going to first start off by talking about impostor syndrome. Right? Now, if you've been in this industry for any length of time, it is entirely possible that you have bumped up against feeling like a fraud, feeling like you do not belong here, right? Now, I remember when I first started speaking, and I was asked to speak at different events. There were times where I honestly would show up and I think, you know, what, I don't really belong here, like, do they really know who I am, and that I'm not qualified to do this. And there were so many times where I just disqualified myself from even taking the opportunity to speak in front of other people. Because I felt as though I was a fraud and imposter. And it wasn't until I really had this kind of like, come to Jesus moment, so to speak, where I really felt as though if I didn't start speaking on my own platforms and sharing what my message was, then how can I really expect to be asked to speak on other people's stages, podcasts events. So it was up to me to really set the stage for who I wanted to be. And to actually build the table and say, This is where I am. This is my platform, my stage, my table, and I want to invite you into this space. And once I did that, I realized that you know what, I belong here. And I have just as much right? To be here as anyone else.

6:57
So if you're feeling a lot like that, I want to invite you to think about well, where are you sharing your message right now? Is it through your copy? Is it through a podcast, writing a book, maybe it is speaking live on stages, or going to retreats and doing work through that maybe it's actually through some sort of creative process. Maybe it's through coaching, and doing programs, whatever it looks like for you. I want to encourage you to speak up and actually hold space for yourself. Another way that we can really step back when it comes to confidence is the fear of failure. You know, that inevitable thing of like, well, what if right?

7:44
We have so many of those scenarios that go over and over and our minds like, well, what if this happens, or what if that happens, and so often we're actually making all these assumptions in these things that are never actually going to happen. But when we focus on that, and we focus on the possibility of what could go wrong all the time, then we are actually inviting that into our lives. And so I want to encourage you to to kind of take a step back from that. And go ask yourself the question, what if I succeed? What if this becomes really something amazing that people want and love and want to jump into or what if people really want me to speak at their events, or be on their podcast or host an event, whatever it is, whatever it looks like for you start shifting the what ifs from failure to the possibilities. The third thing is the feeling of lack. And that feeling of lack. When we focus on what it is that we don't have? Well, we're going to attract more of that, we're going to attract more of what we don't have. So if we don't have clients, or we don't have money, or we don't have opportunity, and we focus on those things, well, it's probably going to be inevitable that you attract none of those things.

9:09
And so you're just going to find yourself in the same position over and over again. And this is something that I have really struggled with, and just only recently started to realize that I was focusing on the lack of things. And it was a monumental shift in my mindset to really start to focus on what it is that I desire, holding that emotion and really being in that space to hold for what it is that I truly want. Number four would be those feelings of not being enough. And that really stems from insecurity, right? It stems from possibly a subconscious belief somewhere along the way, maybe in childhood, maybe from your family of origin, perhaps even just something in yourself. That makes you

10:00
You really take a look inward and go, You know what, I'm just not good enough, what I do is not good enough, I'll never be important, or I'll never be enough of this. And when we are really, really focusing inward on self in this way, it actually keeps us from really making that transformation, and helping others in their lives. So I want to encourage you to shift that belief, that subconscious belief from feeling like you're not enough to really starting to say, How can I really be a catalyst of transformation in the lives of other people. Now, conversely, to not being enough or feeling like you're not enough, is the feeling of being too much.

10:48
Now, this subconscious belief can often stem from, you know, being told to shop or, you know, you're too much or you need to, you know, calm down or, and there's a lot of people who have big personalities, or they are bold, or they are, you know, always talking extroverted, maybe, you know, they were somebody in the class that was always speaking up for things, and people told them to be quiet. Maybe that's you, maybe you were in a position in your own life where people were like, trying to tell you to dial it down. And it created within you a subconscious belief that whenever you talk, whenever you share, whenever you offer something, people are gonna be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, that is too much. Right. And so every time you feel as though you're doing something, you feel as though you need to pull back. Well, that is a subconscious belief that you can shift and you can really find what it is that you truly can learn from that, and shift that belief in your life, because you're not too much.

11:54
The next one is comparison. Now, it does not matter how successful you get when it comes to comparison, because there's always people that are doing bigger, better, and more amazing things than you are. And that's okay, because it just gives us something to look at, to strive for, and to say, You know what, that's possible when someone else is doing it, that means that I can do it as well. But when you're focusing too much on what somebody else is doing, or whether or not you know, they like you, or whether or not, you know, they want to be part of your world, and you're comparing yourself to like another person in the industry and other speaker and other podcasts or another coach, then you're finding that you're always looking at what they're doing. You're trying to assess, you know, should I do things differently? What if I show up this way, will people like me more. And that really actually moves you out of a place of confidence and into a place really as though you were acting as someone else. And people see right through that, they don't want it. And so I just encourage you stay in your own lane. Don't worry about what other people are doing. And the last one I want, the last one that I want to talk to you today about is really about boundaries, setting these really good parameters for yourself.

13:12
This came up for me today, I was actually asked to host someone on Instagram Live. And I've actually, you know, worked with this individual before. But for some reason, I was feeling as though it wasn't really aligning anymore. And the more I kind of like, felt into that, the more I realized that this person was really crossing some of my boundaries. And I wasn't really being upfront about those boundaries. And I was continually saying yes, even though I was feeling that pressure, I was feeling that it was not congruent with me anymore. I was feeling like it was out of alignment. And it was really draining my energy. Now when we are in a place where we don't have those boundaries, and we can't say no, or we can't say yes to the things we want to do, because we feel as though we have to appease someone or get their approval or validation for some reason. It really just detracts from us showing up as the most confident version of ourselves. So here's what happened in this. In this scenario. I ended up telling the person because they kept changing the time. I said this is the time available, and when they didn't like that time and still wanted a different one even though they needed my help. I said no. And when I said no, there was pushback.

14:52
So I created a boundary and that person then pushed back on my boundary, which then caused me to have to then create or enforce a stronger boundary. And the more I had to enforce that boundary, the more confident I became. Because I started to realize that no is an acceptable answer. And if I say, No, I don't have to have a reason for now. And oftentimes we find ourselves trying to appease everybody else, trying to do the things that they want us to do, or we think they want us to do, because we just want to be seen as someone who has it all together, who is likable, you know, all the things, right.

15:48
But when you have those boundaries, and you set those boundaries for yourself, you are actually stepping into the most confident version of yourself. So maybe you're struggling with any of those things impostor syndrome, fear of failure, feelings of lack not being enough, being too much, maybe you're comparing yourself, or maybe you feel like you don't have any boundaries. I feel like you're saying yes to everything.

16:14
I want to encourage you, that whatever it is, you can identify where that belief originated. And there is something to be learned from that belief. And when you do that, it will shift your belief system around what is possible, and you will really be able to step confidently into who you are becoming in your business and who you're becoming in your life. And in the confidence accelerator, that is one of the first things that we do. So not only are we going to challenge you to take aligned steps of action, and really move forward, but we're going to take the time to really hone in on what is actually holding you back from taking the steps confidently in your life, and in your business. So if this is something that you want to hear more about, I would encourage you to go to the link in my bio, and you can click on the confidence accelerator, and you'll be able to pull up all of the information. We kick off July 14. And so there is still space available for you.

17:30
And I would love to have you be a part of it. And if this is something that you're like, you know, I don't know, maybe this is the right fit, maybe it's not, then I also encourage you to set up a time to chat with me and I would love to talk with you to see if this is the right fit for you. So make sure you go to the show notes. Or you can go to my website. And you can check out the competence accelerator and I would love to talk more about it with you. Friend, thank you so much for being here today. I am so just like so honored that you do the journey with me every single week. And until next time. Remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

Do you want to start showing up more confidently in your life and in your business? Today on the podcast, I'm going to talk about the five things that are going to help you shift your consciousness when it comes to your confidence, and the five things that you have to release. In order to truly become confident.

0:24
You're listening to the courage cast a show to equip and empower you to live bravely. Each week, we'll share solo episodes and conversations with amazing people who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose, with a blend of practical and spiritual advice will help you take brave steps in your own life. Now, here's your host, mindset and confidence coach, author, and your secret weapon.

0:49
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am so glad that you are joining me today. You know, it is one of the most exciting things I do in the world, I think, is recording these podcast episodes, I have been doing it almost five years, it'll be five years in August. And it is literally, you know, something I look forward to every single week. Because I find that when we are spending this time together, it is a way for me to be able to just share with you things that I'm learning in my life, things that come up in my client sessions with the clients I work with on mindset or confidence, and really helping you to move the needle forward in your own life and in your own business. And so today, I really wanted to focus on what does it look like to truly be confident. Now, you may know this already, but I run a program called the confidence accelerator. And the competence accelerator is really geared towards podcasters, coaches, authors, speakers, people who want to show up in their life in business in a whole new way, and bring an energy that is unique to them and completely authentic to them. And if there's anything that I have seen over the past few years, especially when it comes to so many people being online, is that there are so many people doing the same things over and over and over and over again. And although that does work, and people can show up that way, really, when you start to show up in an energy that feels unique to you and is really grounded in who you are. That is when you are going to attract the people into your life, the clients into your life that you truly desire to work with. And so I wanted to share with you, what I have been implementing, and some of the things that I've been talking to my clients about when it comes to upgrading your consciousness in order to upgrade your competence. So the very first thing is fun. Now, you know, when we think about business, we think about, you know, working online, or what maybe you're putting out into the world, it's like, yeah, it's fun. But are you really, truly enjoying what you're doing? Are you doing things to do them? Are you doing things because people told you to do them? Or does it truly, really energize you and feel fun to you?

I have been working with different mentors in my life and, you know, people who are getting me to step out of the box and encouraging me in new things. And oftentimes, I have to try to distinguish between does this make me feel uncomfortable? And eventually it'll be fun? Or is this just not fun at all. And only you really know what feels fun in your life. And so whether it's something that you're doing in your business, or it's something you're doing in your life, when you begin to bring more fun into your everyday life, you're going to start raising the vibration and the frequency to attract people, clients that you truly want to work with. And that is also going to reveal a level of confidence that people seeing you because there's something about you that just feels amazing. The second thing is belief. Now, we do a lot of things in our worlds in everyday life that we kind of buy into, but don't really buy into. So when you think about your level of belief around what is possible, and about really showing up with confidence. What is

Your level. So if you were to like rate it on a scale of zero to 10, zero being the lowest, what would you say? The number is? I mean, if I'm being honest, there are times when I feel like I'm showing up at a three, I don't feel confident at all, maybe I just, you know, feel terrible about something, maybe there's something on my mind. But in other circumstances, I show up. And I feel like, you know, I'm somewhere between like an eight and a 10. I just feel super, super confident. But it's really all stems from, who do we believe we are? And can we believe that we can be confident in who we are, and what we have to offer the world. The third thing that we can take a look at is the energy in which we are showing up every single day. I said this to a client actually just today, and I said, you know, less is more, if you are showing up less amount of times, but in an energy that is attractive to people, then you're going to attract the right people, versus trying to show up more, trying to do more, trying to you know, do all of the things show how amazing you are to the world. And yet, the energy just is not attractive. So you want to know, what is the energy that you want to be showing up in? And I've also had this conversation with my own coach. And we talked about, you know, people in the industry, who are showing up, you know, in, like, you know, they're showing up in their vacay pictures, or they're like, you know, here's my me and my bikini and, you know, here's how you be confident and blah, blah, blah. And it's like, I don't feel that that's not my energy. So it's really important to understand, what is your energy? What are you bringing, so perhaps it's not that you're showing up like a top model, or like you've got everything, picture perfect, because maybe things aren't picture perfect for you. And you don't want to attract people who want things to be picture perfect in their life. So it's really about what energy are you showing up in, and is that truly authentic. The fourth thing is all about self acceptance, or self love. Now, this is thrown around a lot. And I used to be like, Oh, whatever self, self love, whatever, blah, blah, blah.

But until you start to truly have compassion for yourself, and love who you are, and really allow yourself to be seen as you are in every way, whether it is perfect or not. And really allow yourself to extend love to yourself, that is not going to really attract the type of people you want into your life. And it shows a lack of confidence when you are not really loving who you are. So if that's something that you struggle with, I would say probably one of the first things that you want to do is you want to take a look at how much am I really showing myself self acceptance, and self love. And then the fifth thing would be freedom. So when you are experiencing a level of freedom, it attracts more freedom into your life. So creating space in your life for the things you love, allowing yourself, you know time and space to explore or do new things, or just really just try things that are different, try on things for size and see whether or not it is that you really liked them or not. And having a sense of freedom. Because if we're locked into something all the time, and we're trying to do it the same way over and over and over and over again. Well, that all that does is translates to, you know, it has to be a certain way, and that does not come across confident at all.

And really upgrading your consciousness to a level of confidence is going to be about what's under the surface right? So you haven't fun? Do you believe it's possible? What energy are you showing up in? Are you showing yourself self acceptance and self love? And are you giving yourself space and freedom to truly grow? Now, of course, I have to talk to you about five things that you can release as well, right? Because in order to make space for these things, it's entirely possible that you might have all of those places filled up already with things that need to go. So the first one and this is a hard one. It's a hard one for me. Maybe it's not hard for you but should

I have to need to all of the coulda, shoulda, woulda has or the ways in which we perceive things needed to be done or need to be done. So something that I used to say all the time I was super guilty of, I was around a lot of people who would say that you should do this, you should do that. And I kind of adopted that way of speaking, this is years and years ago, and I remember my mom calling me out on it and being like, Andrea, you've got to stop saying that, and it really was true. But when we're shutting ourselves, then it's really like keeping us in a place that what we're doing is not right, and what we're doing needs to be judged. So the second thing is really letting go of the opinions of others, whether they be your friends, your family members, your well meaning peers, coaches, even people you are working very close with, at the end of the day, you really want to be listening to your own intuition, and trusting your own instincts. And so releasing the opinions of others is going to help you to hear what is right for you. The fourth thing is judgment of your self. Now, we often find that in this space, we can find ourselves judging what other people are doing. And usually that is a judgment of ourselves, and what maybe we're lacking or what we don't like about ourselves. But when we let go of that judgment of ourselves, you'll see that you stop judging other people as well.

The fourth thing is being on all the time, it's almost like you know, you have to be present to be available, be you know, the go to person, someone who is constantly on, not ever giving yourself permission to shut down to get fueled up to really have that time and space for yourself. So we you definitely want to release the need to be on. And then the fifth thing is releasing what that barrier of entry looks like, into your world. I think sometimes we're overthinking everything, making it way too complex and way too difficult for people to actually get into our world. And when we just show up as ourselves, and we give other people room to show up as themselves, we will have that synergy. And be able to attract who it is that we want into our lives, who it is we want into our business. And all of a sudden people are gonna be like you are just seems so much more confident. You're sharing so much more confidently in your stories and in your podcast, and your writing has shifted and changed. And it all stems from really being in a place where you are allowing FUN into your life, where you're raising your level of belief, where you're showing up in the right energy, where you're extending self love and acceptance. And you're allowing yourself the space to truly grow and expand and be who you are created to be. I hope that helps you today. And that you can really step and upgrade your consciousness to a level of confidence that really attracts who you desire into your life. Now, if we haven't already connected, I would love to invite you to our weekly zoom, call the mindset mentor circle.

0:53
Hey, friends, welcome to The Couragecast. I am so glad that you are joining me today. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I am also a mindset coach and the author of design with purpose, which is something I don't really talk about very often, I wrote a book back in the day.

You know, sometimes I'm thinking about whether or not I should be writing a new book, you know, so often, we are put in a position where we have to make a decision about something. Now it can be a decision on something, you know, regular in our lives, you know, should I go for lunch? Should I meet that person? Should I schedule that meeting for today or tomorrow? But oftentimes, it's a bigger decision, like, should I invest in, you know, something big in my life? Should I, you know, decide to join a mastermind or invest in a new coach, or should I take that trip, even though things have not really been going the way I want them to now, so often, we defer those decisions, we put them off and we say, Oh, I'll make them later. As an example, I have been doing that over the past two weeks, there's something that has come up for me. And it was so interesting, because it was a really, really great opportunity. It seemed so clear cut. And yet every time I went to make a decision about it, I would say oh, I'll make it tomorrow. And I'll make it the next day. So I got an email yesterday. And I actually responded with the fact that I am going to make a decision by noon today. And it is something that I'm committed to, it is something that I want to do. And I'm ready to do. On the other hand, there was opportunity that was presented to me that I went ahead, and I fill out the form, I met with a prospective coach. And within a few minutes, I had secured not only one, but for coaching sessions with an amazing coach and get this for free. Is that not crazy? Here's the thing, friends. So often, we are deferring decisions. I'll fill that form out later, I will decide on that later. And those two instances in my life really showed me something that oftentimes we are waiting for something to happen in order to make the decision. And then we never have the benefit of having made that decision, or the opportunity that's going to unfold because of it. Whereas other times, when we make a quick decision right away, often, we know immediately whether or not that's an opportunity that we should take. So I wanted to talk to you today about what it looks like in our lives, when we're making a committed decision in our lives, in our relationships, in in our business. Because if we are deferring decisions, if we're waiting to make a decision for another day, oh, I've got to think about it. Or I need to see if I have enough money, or I have to see if I have enough time in my schedule to do this. We're never actually going to achieve the success that we desire. So here's the thing.

First of all, we have to get really, really, really clear on what it is that we desire in our lives. What do you desire happening right now in your life? Do you want to have a relationship? Do you want to build more connections within your business? Do you want more Clients, are you looking to collaborate or grow something within your business, get super clear on what it is that you desire to happen. Because the moment you make that decision, and you hold that decision, and you really put a motion towards it, it becomes a desire. And that desire is going to lead you to the outcome, it's going to help you to take that aligned action, it's gonna help you to recognize those opportunities, whether they're a good opportunity or a bad opportunity, or whether or not you should not do something. And over the course of the past couple of weeks, as I've been kind of processing through this for myself, and I've been looking at how I'm making decisions, I'm realizing that the faster I make a decision on something, the better it turns out. And the more I receive from that opportunity, because it was presented to me, and I had an opportunity to take that person up on what they were offering, or what was happening. And immediately, something shifted. And this is what happens in your life, when you make a committed decision to have success in your life and success in your business. The universe conspires to deliver on those decisions. I mean, think about it, do you actually think that you're going to have to do this all by yourself. Like, you're gonna have to figure out the how and the when, and the resources to come up with whatever it is that you need, once a decision is made. It really just takes that committed decision, that desire burning within you to signal the universe to signal, I'm ready for the next thing. And then watch as the universe, God source delivers to you probably even more than what you expect, probably even a better version of the thing that you think you're going to get. Now, I've seen this manifest in my life over the past couple of months, in so many ways. And, you know, as I mentioned, I got four free coaching sessions, but that is not all. Okay, that's from one person. And we're focusing on relationships. But get this not only did I receive from the universe for free coaching sessions, but I also received two free coaching sessions, from an additional coach helping me grow in my sales. Not only did I receive that, but I also was given an opportunity for an entire VIP day to really go through everything I'm offering within my business to uplevel and upgrade what I'm doing. Is that not amazing, right? And that all stemmed from me responding immediately, to an opportunity. But the moment I hesitate, the moment I defer the moment I've been all think about it, those opportunities to just kind of dwindle away, they never really happen. So I want to pose a challenge to you today. Whatever that decision is in your life that you are making right now. It could be a small decision. It could be a medium sized decision, it could be a huge decision. It could be something that you're thinking about that would cost you and would be a huge investment for you. I encourage you to set time aside today. And first of all, make the decision that you're going to make the decision that's number one.

Because when you decide I'm going to make a decision today, then you know it's happening. Then number two, get still get grounded. And listen for that still small voice your intuition that God voice within you to do racked the decision, whether it's a yes or no. And remember, oftentimes, if it's a no, it could be that it's a not now. But still, you know, to tell them, it's a no. And then make that decision. Because when you make that decision, you're committing to yourself, that you are truly in. When it comes to achieving your goals, you are truly in when it comes to growing your business, you are truly in when it comes to cultivating relationships, shifts in your life, you have decided to go all in on you. And it all starts by making a decision. I hope that helps you today friend, you know, it's really helped me. And if you're making a decision, or you're facing a huge decision in your life, I just encourage you take that time today to do that. And I'd also love to just let you know that we are still doing our weekly zoom get togethers called the mindset mentor circle. This is a great opportunity to receive support, and really uplevel and upgrade your mindset when it comes to your life and your business. You are surrounded by incredible entrepreneurs, and coaches that are really taking those steps as well in their lives. And it's an opportunity for you to network to connect, but also to receive that support in a really safe environment. And it's free, so you can join us. And you can come in as you need to. And you can feel free to leave when you need to as well. So those are on Wednesdays at 12pm Eastern Standard Time. So I will go ahead and put the link in the show notes so that you can sign up for those weekly zoom calls. I love to see you there. This is a great way for us to connect and to meet and to really build relationships with one another. So friend, I'm so glad that you join me today. Now, here's your host, mindset and competence coach, author, and your secret weapon.

Well, hello, my friend, welcome to The Couragecast. I am so glad that you are joining me today. You know, it is kind of a cool day here. It's a little bit overcast. And I have been feeling in my feels today, which is not really normal for me these days. You know, I've talked a lot about my struggle with anxiety and depression over the years, and how I have worked through a lot of that. And there are just maybe few moments when my anxiety flares up. Sometimes it's in a stressful situation, or, you know, when things seem a little bit more difficult than normal. But for the most part, I really have made huge, huge strides when it comes to just really being able to manage my emotions, my feelings. And for years, I found myself in this place where I was pretty emotional. I remember crying in, you know, meetings at work, thinking to myself, I wish I could hold it together, I wish I wasn't always, you know, wearing my heart on my sleeve. And I think I tried to, you know, get this tough exterior, and to put this hard shell on in order to protect myself in order to keep myself safe. And then over the years as I would go through things, I would bury those emotions, I would suppress them or push them down. And maybe you can relate to that maybe you've been in a place in your life where you have this really tough exterior, and you're always just wanting to, you know, show a brave face and emotions feel hard for you. And you push them down or you suppress them. But what happens when we do that is that we actually fall into a pattern of self abandonment. And we are not allowing ourselves to fully feel everything that is happening. Everything that is going on, truly allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to ourselves to the Divine to others. And we miss out on some pretty amazing things, including missing out on growth, missing out on opportunity, missing out on intimacy. So over this past week, I've been really processing some things in my own life and going through a releasing process of sorts. And looking back at some of the things that have been taking place over the past year, super grateful for what has taken place, but also knowing that in order for me to move forward, I have to make room for the new things, which means there has to be some releasing in the process. And a lot of that, you know can be tangible things actual, you know, material things in life. It could be ways I'm doing things. It could be how I'm showing up, but it also can be ways that I have been processing ways that I have been abandoning myself in order to make room for a more fulfilling place in my own life. Now there were So I really want to talk to you about this is because I think it's so important, when we are looking to make an impact in the world when we're influencing others when we are on mission, when we are driven to really be the best we can be, be successful in our own right. And I know that a lot of people that listen to this podcast are entrepreneurs, our coaches are creatives, people who are daily taking those brave steps in your life to move forward. And a lot of that probably looks like you know, taking risks and doing bigger things and putting yourself out there. But how often do we self abandon in hopes that we will get what it is that we truly desire?

Now, I want to talk a little bit about that today, because I think it's so important, what does that really even look like? So I actually wrote down in my journal, and I'm just going to read to you some of the things that came to me, as I was journaling through this just this morning. And I want to reference a song that I was listening to actually, and it's called, while we wait by Amanda Cook. And, oh, man, it's just so amazing. I definitely encourage you to go listen to it. So she talks about in the beginning of the song I was holding on with all my might, just praying for a ray of light, someone to hold me through the night, when I thought that I had lost my mind, when I was all alone and it got too quiet. You never let me go never left my side. Because you're with us while we wait. I encourage you to go and listen to this song, it is actually going to be like a healing balm to your soul.

And as I was listening to the song, and as I was processing through this, I just was so compelled to write down all of these things that were just like coming up with me. And it's been a long time since I've done that. As you may know, I used to be in full time church ministry. And a lot of what I did back then was writing and was speaking from the heart and was really sharing from a vulnerable place. Well, over the years, as I transitioned out of full time ministry, and I moved into coaching, you know, that had to shift a bit. But I feel like there is this opportunity for me to return to some of that today. Maybe I'll return to it more, I'm not sure. But I feel like there's an opportunity for me to return to it today. And just really allow myself to share from the heart and share some of the things that are coming up for me in hopes that it will help you and encourage you today. If you find yourself in a place where you are doubting that what you desire is going to take place is going to manifest. Now, when I first started out in my career, I really had a very, very strong faith. And my faith led me to believe that there was a lot of things that I was going to trust God in. But I didn't really have to do anything. And I've learned over the years that that's not exactly how it works. Or it doesn't work that way. For me, let's put it that way. There is a waiting when it comes to a dream fulfilled a promise fulfilled, and opportunity fulfilled. But it also requires depth. And it also requires healing. And it also requires taking action and moving through moving forward. And that can often look like different things in our lives. And that means that we have a part to play in that so when there is a dream or desire that we want to see manifested within our lives, see, see come to fruition. We have an opportunity to really move in that direction, allowing ourselves to move through that process. And when we're in business, often we talk about you know, like using this you know, boss exterior, this CEO being the the leader of our business, but you know what, we're human, we are all you know, made up of feelings of experiences of memories, emotions, things that have happened. And when we are moving through those things and processing through them, it is going to impact our business. It is is going to impact our clients, it is going to impact the people that we are working with constantly. Which is why it's so important that we do this work, that we pay attention, that we make sure that we own our power, and that we're not self abandoning when it comes to truly standing in our power in that divine light in that source. So one of the ways that often we do this is when we're self abandoning is we are allowing fear, and doubt and insecurity to be louder than any other voice. And that can come from, you know, failures in the past or rejection or hurt anything really, it can come from words that we heard spoken to us, it can come from, you know, missed opportunities that can come from, you know, just even our own deep insecurity of who we really are.

And when we allow those voices, those insecurities, those doubts, to become louder than anything else, we abandon ourselves, we abandon the dream, we abandon the promise fulfilled in our lives. And it's always been well, and put it this way, your ability, your capacity, your giftings, they've always been there, right? You're growing in them, you're maturing them, you're working through them, you are developing them, you are growing them right now. But when we allow those insecurities to like smother them, and like muffle them, and make them quiet, you know, we keep them from really being seen by the world and heard by the world, because we're letting our own doubt and insecurity be louder than the guests than the abilities than the capacity for what we have to give, when it comes to really making an impact in the lives of others. And I have found for myself, that, you know, there's often been these times where I want to project a certain image, I want people to see me as a certain person a certain way. And, for me, that looks a lot like trying to be perfect, and that, you know, stemmed back from my childhood, you know, being firstborn, doing things, right, always getting that, that praise and approval in my life and, and realizing, you know, even today I wrote down, it's okay, if you are not perfect, or there yet. And I think that is so important for us to really grab hold of because, you know, we really feel as though in order to show up and to make a difference and to make an impact and to have people hire us that we have to be perfect or something has to be just so in order for us to really call in those clients to call in those opportunities. But at the end of the day, it's going to be this quiet vulnerability to being ourselves. That is really going to be the measure of how we are calling in others, and how we are attracting other people. And here's another thing, your worth is not dependent on your success, or your outside circumstances. And often that's what we're you know, taught to to believe that you know, you're going to be successful when you're going to be worthy. When I was watching this Mel Robbins video today, actually about, you know, this girl said I'm fortunate enough to have two salons and Mel stopped her rate in mid sentence and said, it's really not about being fortunate. It's about knowing that when you say it's an external reason why I'm successful, then you're giving your power away. And here's the thing we have it within us already. So, your worthiness is not dependent upon what you do not dependent upon how successful you are, how much money you make, it really is already innately within you. And and that is when when we are truly connecting with our worthiness and truly connecting with our value and who we are and our identity and what we have to give and, and how we are allowing that to just come out of us. That is when we are in that full expression of love, not only for ourselves, but the divine for others. And when we're doing anything else spot that we're abandoning ourselves.

So, you're thinking, Okay, well, what does this mean? Like? How do I not self abandoned? How do I, you know, take ownership? How do I lean into this, so I have a few things that I want to share with you. First of all, allow yourself to feel and release. You know, we talk a lot about emotions. And I mentioned how, for years, I suppress my emotions, and I pushed them down, especially when it came to like anger, like, I just felt like, I could never be angry, and I could never really tell people how I felt, and that, you know, just shoved the emotion down, down, down, down, down. And I would never have a release for them. So they were like, underneath the surface, always, they're always kind of like, frustrating me and keeping me in this space where I was not able to move forward. So it wasn't until I acknowledged what I was actually feeling, and gave room and space for them to just be there. It's okay, like, it's alright, if you're sad, it's okay. If you, you know, feel down, it's okay that you know, you're frustrated or you're angry. And when you're allowing yourself to really feel that, and your body can feel that it processes it through, and it releases that emotion, and you're able to move through it. And it is really a beautiful experience. Another thing is make space for the tension. If there's this tension in you right now, know that the tension is there to grow you because where you are right now is not where you're going to be. And so you're maybe in this place where you're moving from something to something else. And there's this tension of feeling like I'm in this middle space, I'm in the in between. And like, as a song I mentioned with us while we wait, sometimes in the waiting in the tension, there's so much growth to be found, maturing, developing insights, so many really, really good things that are not only going to impact you better and impact other people in your life, your clients, your family, people you love. Another thing is lean deeper into the fulfillment of your desire. So how do we do that? How do we actually lean into it? Well, I talked about, you know, stepping into that next level, that new version of yourself, that version of you that you know, you are always meant to be. And here's the thing, you are already that person now. But maybe you haven't just seen the fulfillment of it. So lean in press into the fulfillment of who you are becoming of who that version of you is, that is really making an impact that is really being the fulfillment of the dream of the desire that you have for your life. The more you lean into it, the more you're going to see it come forth, the more you're going to, you know, embody it. And just allow yourself to lean more to that than into that old version or that insecurity or that self sabotage or any of those other things. Another thing is trust yourself. This, you know, like seems like pretty okay, trust myself, like what does that mean? When you're trusting yourself, lean into your own intuition. You're being guided every day there is source divine universe, God speaking into you speaking through you, you're a channel for so many beautiful things to come forth. And when you're trusting that you can hear that when you're trusting that you're being divinely inspired or led to move in a certain direction, then trust that that is for you. And so often what we're doing is we want to look for external validation, we want to look for those external voices or opinions or things which keep us you know, holding ourselves back. But when you just listen to that divine voice, your intuition, you are always going to be able to move forward. Be vulnerable, and open. And in this vulnerability, it doesn't mean you have to share like absolutely everything with the world. Like you've got to tell all of the all the nitty gritty of every part of your story. Not every part of your story needs to be shared. Sometimes it's the vulnerability of being in the story and allowing people to be a part of the story that really resonates with other people.

And when I was thinking about, you know, recording this today and actually putting this out, I felt like, you know, is this too vulnerable? Like, is this something I should be sharing? And the reality is, is, uh, yeah, I definitely think because it's, I think it's part of my story, it's part of your story, it's part of our collective story of really allowing ourselves to truly open up and be vulnerable with the people we're doing life with, and allow them to see in to who we are. So that we're moving towards the fulfillment of that dream of that promise of that desire. The next thing is Hold on, it's not always going to be smooth sailing, it's not always going to be you know, clear cut, you're not always going to have to, you know, know the right way to go. You might have twists and turns and ups and downs, but hold on, hold on to yourself, hold on to people you love, hold on to the promise, hold on, keep moving forward. And that's the last thing is keep going. You may be in a place right now, where you have really considered giving up on the dream. And let me tell you, when you give up on the dream you give up on you. Because it's not about one particular thing. It's not about like the dream being exactly the way you envisioned it. The dream, the desire is really about allowing yourself to fully engage in the purpose of why you're on the earth. And that can look like so many different iterations in your life. And in different seasons, it's going to look one way and another season, it's going to look another way, because you're becoming more and more and more of who you were created to be who you were put on the earth to be. And allowing yourself to keep moving through the process, moving through the emotions moving through, you know, the difficulties, the challenges, and allowing yourself to truly be present and in this moment, is going to help you to truly see that desire fulfilled in your life. And you can trust that in a waiting in the middle, in the parts that don't seem as shiny and spectacular. That that is really where all of us are. We only see these glimpses these moments, these snapshots of like, wow, I got to the end of the finish line. That's just like a little like moment, that's just a little snapshot of what we get. It's really always in the waiting in the middle in the tension in the growth, that you are going to allow that purpose to be truly manifested in your life. And see that desire fulfilled in your life. Friend, I just want to say thanks for hanging out with me. I hope this was helpful for you today.

Now, here's your host, mindset and confidence coach, author and your secret weapon.

Andrea Crisp 0:59
Hey, friend, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea, I am so glad that you are here today. You know, I have been thinking a lot about what it's like when we are living in a mindset of scarcity. And so often we think about that in terms of money. You know, when we talk about abundance, we think about living abundantly We think immediately of our finances. And although I do talk a lot about finances here on the show, I also feel like there is so much more to living in an abundant mindset when it comes to our lives personally when it comes to our lives, professionally, in basically all the ways.

And so today, I want to talk about something that I feel like we don't talk about enough. And that is that you already have everything you need right now. Which means basically, you could turn off the podcast, because you already have everything you need. But unfortunately, what happens to most of us is that we're not accessing that part of ourselves. Instead, we're living in these old programs. And we are rehearsing these old narratives, these old stories, things from our past, maybe from childhood, maybe something that someone has said to us over the course of our lives.

And we're living out of those old stories. And it really stops us from living out of a place of abundance, out of a place where we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have everything we need right now. And that you have everything you need right now.

Well, this became really clear to me when I started coaching, and I don't know that I recognize this prior to that, because I think I was just living more out of effect in my life. At that point, I was kind of living in a place where I thought things were happening to me. And you know, I was not in control of my life. I was not in control of my destiny. And even though I felt very purposeful in things that I did, I really felt as though I was kind of a victim to my life. While that has changed. I don't live like that anymore.

But it really took me being in this industry in the coaching space to recognize so much more about how I was living at a place where I was not accessing the best parts of myself, the most authentic parts of myself, the parts of me that were secure and safe and able to empower others. And I think that oftentimes when we start businesses, and when we get into this online industry, we think oh, yeah, like, you know what, it's going to be really easy. I'm going to just be able to make money really quickly. And things are just going to, you know, fly off the charts.

Because a lot of people on social media are actually talking about their lifestyle and how Of course, you know how easy it was for them. Which in reality, it's not, it's really not as easy as people make it seem that's just more of you know, smoke and mirrors for you to buy into the things that they're selling. But when I first started in the coaching space, I thought things were going to be easy. Like I had like rose colored glasses on I was thinking oh my gosh, this is going to be amazing. I've always wanted to be a coach and I got my certification. And I remember planning out how many clients I would see week like this is no joke. I literally wrote it down on a piece of paper.

And I was like if I had this many clients a day and then I'd have this many per week and if I charged some amount, I literally calculated hourly how much I would make. And I thought to myself, Wow, this is going to be amazing because I'm going to make more money doing this than I would at my full time job.

And so when I started coaching, and I just immediately thought, that's how it works like, right, you become a coach, or you get into this online space, and then right things just happen. And that's not what happened at all. So here, I was waiting for all the inquiries, just to like start rolling in emails to start popping into my inbox.

Nothing happened, nada. And here, I was thinking to myself, Oh, like, what have I gotten myself into. And that's kind of what I started this down hill spiral. And I was frustrated, I was frustrated and myself, I was, you know, giving into insecurity and getting into frustration. And there was this like, low level anger that I didn't even acknowledge that just kind of was there all of the time.

Because I thought things were going to be so much different. And I was looking for all of this external validation, I was looking for this external help and support in the process. And really, I didn't realize that everything that I needed, I already had. And I doubted myself. And I see so many coaches in this space, who are super qualified, who have, you know, amazing intentions, and really desire to help other people not really thriving, because they are in this place of insecurity, and doubt, maybe because of things that they've seen on social media, maybe because things didn't pan out the way they had originally anticipated. I mean, there's all sorts of reasons. But you might be in a place right now, in your own life. And in your own business, where you're like, I really was hopeful at the beginning. And I thought that I was ready.

And I thought things were going to happen so much differently. And now here I am, doubting myself very frustrated, feeling really insecure about myself. And, you know, when I was starting out, I didn't feel insecure at all at first, until things weren't going well. And then all of a sudden, I was like, Well, this must be me. And I'm, you know, doing things wrong.

And I started to play that game. And I started to, you know, let my inner critic rule my life and be basically, it really exacerbated what was already happening in my world, it just shone a light on it. And it was not something that you know, was created when I became a coach, it was just something that was magnified when I became a coach. And I think that's not often what we are looking at in our lives. But when you're in this space, in this online space, as a coach, as a mentor, in whatever capacity you are functioning as, really everything that you believe to be true about yourself is being magnified. And it comes to light, and it comes out to play. And if it's not really dealt with, then you're going to be struggling to try and figure out what you're going to be doing. Maybe hiring coaches, buying into programs, doing all sorts of things, to help you figure out how to sell more or be more all the things when really, it's an internal problem. It's an internal thing that needs to be worked out and solved.

So when I was in that place, I hired a lot of coaches, I hired a lot of programs, I didn't hire them, I just I bought into them. I mean, I have a list of a litany of things. I bought into things to help me build an email list to create a funnel to name my niche to create memberships to get better at social media, like you name it, I was buying into it. And I have to say like here, there are so many really, really good programs out there. There are so many fabulous coaches that are doing really good work. But if you're not in the right headspace to actually do the work and to hold space for what they're asking you to do, then it's almost like a futile attempt. And if you've ever done that, and you know what I mean? Then you're like, Yep, I totally get it.

Your mindset has to match up with where you're going. And if you don't hold space for that next version, that next level of yourself and of what you're capable of, then you're not going to be able to build a solid foundation for your business, for your coaching for your clients, in any way at all.

Sowhen I was in this place in my life, that's when I kind of, you know, started to see that debt was mounting, I was losing sight of what I truly wanted out of my business, I started doubting my abilities, my ability to coach even because I thought, well, if I'm failing at business, obviously, I'm a terrible coach, which was not true at all. The problem was, is that I had a lot of old negative programming that was just running in the background. And I did not know that I needed to address those mindsets that I that I needed to address those wounds. And I needed to reframe how I was seeing myself seeing others, seeing the potential in my business, seeing who I could be, and realizing that everything that I needed, I already had inside of me, I was just seeing it in a way that was not being helpful in any way, shape, or form.

So I wanted to share with you a few things, three things that I really believe are going to help you when it comes to just really building your mindset in a way that helps you navigate this industry that helps you move forward, that helps you be more confident in your coaching in your business. Because here's what they're not telling you, you are actually your biggest asset. Like you have everything in you right now you can build any kind of business you want. So doesn't really matter what they're telling you out there.

You can build whatever it is that you desire, you can move through fear while you're building a business. So it's not like you have to just stop and just work through mindset, you can actually do it in tandem, you can work in ease and flow and you don't have to hustle for your worth. And you don't have to hustle for clients. And it's not all about like work, work, work, work work, it's really about truly understanding yourself and understanding that you can call in the right clients, and then you can take aligned action to be able to call them in, and you already have everything you need. Right now. It's just a matter of activating it. So this all starts with your mindset.

So let's let's look at it in terms of like building something. So when you're building like a house or any kind of structure, if you're building it on shaky ground, then it's likely that it's not going to hold up, right, it might implode if there's you know, winds, high winds, it's going to be knocked over if you know there's a earthquake, it's going to crumble, if there is a storm, it's going to be washed away. Like I mean, think of all of the you know how we build structures, we have to build them on something that is concrete on some sort of real concrete foundation. And for you in your business, that means that your foundation is going to be built on you. And that all starts with trusting yourself. Trusting that you know that you can do it that you trust that you are capable, that you trust that you are committed to the process.

And that you know that no matter what you're going to figure out what needs to take place. And a lot of coaches lack that like that trust, they think, you know, I just need to do this or I need to hire this out or you know, maybe this person can help me figure this out because they don't really trust their own intuition, or their own decision making, or their own abilities to actually come through for themselves and for their clients. And so that that piece of trust is so so so, so important. Now, the second thing is that if you're building and you're focused on doing too many things at once, like I don't know if you've ever been on a on a job site where there's like, all these contractors are coming in on the same day. They're trying to do too many things at once.

Well, it creates a lot of chaos, and then things don't get done or they have you know, they get done with you know, shoddy you know, basically like shoddy I can't think of the word it's it's escapes me. workmanship, shoddy workmanship.

And all of a sudden, you know, it's just like chaotic. And when you think about your business in and when you're trying to do too many things at once. Like maybe you're launching a podcast while you're building a Facebook out group while you're starting an Instagram while you're trying to get clients, while you're, you know, doing all of these things, you're focused on too many things at one time, and it becomes overwhelming, it becomes chaotic, and you're not really able to pour or invest into something that is going to be lasting. So it's really, really important that, that you are staying committed and focused on building the right foundation, and building things as you go. And as you go, you can increase on those things you can add to, you can you know, start implementing more? I too, you know, I've been doing this podcast for almost five years. But I don't know that launching a podcast, at the time I did in my business was really the wisest decision.

Because I pivoted in my podcast many times, because I was pivoting in my business. So you know, when I think about, you know, when people ask me, like, should I start a podcast? I'm like, Well, do you really know who it is that you are speaking to, because if you're gonna continue to shift who you're speaking to, then what's the point of actually starting a podcast, you know, it's maybe like five steps ahead of where you want to be. So it's really important that you're focusing on what it is that you need right now. And again, that starts with your mindset. So staying committed to what it is that you are building in your business, trust, right, trusting yourself.

The third thing is, when you are on a job site, and you're seeing a building being built, you want to know that the contractors that are working on the project, that they've done this before, they're not like somebody who's literally just, you know, picked up a hammer and started to try and put something together. And so many people in this industry, tout that they are the experts in certain things. And, you know, that may just be good marketing, they might be making money, and they might even have some sort of lavish luxury, luxury lifestyle that seems like it's really bright and shiny. But at the end of the day, where is, you know, where are their results? Where's the value? What are they truly offering you and are they in integrity in their business. And so it's so important that you're getting support from coaches, from mentors, from industry leaders that really are walking in integrity. And there are a lot of them that are many, many, many I have worked with many of them, I see many of them. But it's so important that you are getting the support you need from those who are in integrity in their business.

So just kind of looking back, it's important that you lay the right foundation, that you stay committed to doing that one thing that's gonna move you forward, and that you get the support you need. And here's the thing, friend, like all kind of going back to mindset. This is so important. Because when you are building your business, when you're building your coaching practice, you really have to have the mindset that you already have everything inside of you that you need, you're going to learn and grow as you go, you're going to build the foundation, you're going to stay committed to the process, and you're going to learn and you're going to keep moving forward, and keep elevating to that next level and that next version of yourself, and you're going to do it with people who are supporting you, and really see how you can move forward and help you do that. So I hope that this has really helped you today. I think that you know, so often we're looking for that external validation from others, you know, pointing us in the right direction.

But what we truly need to remember, in this business is that, really, we have to trust ourselves. You already have everything you need right now. You can listen to your intuition and be guided by that. And trust that you know, exactly what is the next step for you? Well, friend, thanks for hanging out with me today. If we've not connected, I would love to connect with you. I'm hosting a free weekly zoom call for coaches and online entrepreneurs. And this is just a real great place to receive support, to network to build community with one another. And there are so many places where we're, you know, not really free to show up as ourselves and be authentic and kind of share what's truly going on. And this is a space for you to do that to do so it's called the mind. It's kind of easy for me to say it's called the mindset mentor circle. And there's a link in the show notes. I'd love to have you it's Wednesdays at 12pm Eastern Standard Time.

All right friends. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Until next time, remember you have everything you need to live bravely.

Andrea 0:48
Hey, friend, welcome to The Corage cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I'm also a mindset and confidence coach. And I'm really excited to chat with you today about this topic, because it is something that I have been thinking about. Of course, in my own life, I've been stepping into, I've been working through and as you know, I love to share the things that I have been out working with in my own life. And today talking about embodying the next level. Now, just the other day, I was sitting working, and I got a notification that my Mac air needed to have an upgrade. But here's the thing, it's an older Mac air, it's doesn't have a lot of memory on it. It's full to the brim with stuff. And I can't do any more upgrades, because of the amount of programs that are on my computer. And I can't afford to delete those programs off my computer. But I also can't upgrade those programs either. And I can't upgrade my actual software system, because of the fact that I have too many things running on my computer. And it has been something that I've been thinking about for a while I am constantly like shuffling things around. I'm trying to move things from here to there to hard drives. I just really know that when I'm done with something, I've got to delete it off the computer in order to have more space for something else.

Andrea 2:25
But what it does is it limits me, it limits me from actually producing better content, producing better quality things because I don't have the upgraded software. And I've been thinking about that for some time. What would it look like for me to upgrade and uplevel. And I don't want to just go to like the next version of the Mac air. I'm thinking about going back to a MacBook Pro, and really having the storage and the space and the solutions that I need, which is what I had prior to this computer.

Andrea 3:03
Now the reason why I share this with you is because so often that is where we are living, when it comes to our life and our business, we are running with old programs, we are running without an upgrade, we are running with little space, little capacity for growth. And there is no way to move forward to make traction and create momentum in our lives and in our business because we're running on these old operating systems without the ability to upgrade. Now, there may be an area of your life right now that you can think about that you know, needs an upgrade.

Andrea 3:45
Maybe it's your physical fitness, maybe it is something that comeswith business. It may be it is your relationships, maybe it's community building, perhaps it is creating more wealth, whatever it is, there's probably an area of your life where you're thinking, Oh yeah, that is like the upgrade I need. Well, here's the thing.

Andrea 4:09
We can't upgrade one area without upgrading all of the areas. So think about it. In terms of software. When I lack the ability to upgrade my computer, all of the software on my computer stays the same. Because in order for me to upgrade any one system I have to upgrade the entire system.

Andrea 4:38
And so for you if you want more abundance, or creativity, you want to be able to express yourself your message more confidently. You want to be more impactful or more influential. Be a thought leader. Not only do you have to up grade that area, but you have to to up grade, everything, your entire system has to go to the next level.

Andrea 5:08
Think about that for a moment.

Andrea 5:11
And that may be the reason why you're not taking that step, that you're not actually making the forward movement. Because the price is too high. So I want you to think about that. What would it look like for you to go to the next level, in order for you to take that step,

Andrea 5:36
you have to take a look at where you are right now.

Andrea 5:39
And when I thought about that, for my life, I was taking a look at some of the things in my life, I had, you know, recently felt more overwhelmed with how many things I was doing. And I felt out of alignment in certain areas of my business, I felt like I was, you know, not really fully taking care of my body, I wasn't really getting the sleep I needed, my eating patterns were off. I wasn't building community quite like I wanted to. And so when I started to take a look at everything in my life, I started to realize, Wow, no wonder I'm running at such a low capacity. All of these areas are really suffering. And in order for me to expand, and for me to embody that next version of myself, I really have to become aware of what I want in all those areas of my life. And for me, this expansion really started about a year ago when I joined fast foundations mastermind and I talked a lot about that on the podcast over the past year. Well, I've been out of the mastermind now for a couple of months. And of course, I noticed a huge difference right away as soon as I was done. I mean, I did need a bit of a break. It had been a lot. It was amazing. But I also felt like I kind of, you know, took a little bit of a downward turn when I left fast foundations because I did not have that support system to really up level me the way it had for almost a year.

Andrea 7:08
And so it was time for me to really consider Well, what does that take for me to now shift to that new level that I need in my life and in my business. And one of my friends, and I were talking about doing 75 heart. And if you've not heard of 75 heart, it is a fitness program that is based around doing two workouts a day, which are 45 minutes. Being on a strict eating plan, you have to drink a gallon of water, have no alcohol, read 10 pages of a book. And at the end of it all. You're doing it for 75 days. So I was like okay, yeah, this is something that I can totally commit to. But as I started doing the program, I started realizing that this upgrade that this upper level in my life was not only up leveling, my physical fitness, but it was also my eating, I was getting mental clarity. I was you know, getting more sleep, obviously, because I was more tired from all of the workouts I was doing. And all of a sudden, I started noticing that it was having an impact in all areas of my life, my business, my capacity for, you know, building more community for wanting to build more community. And I started to see that in order for me to really embody that next version of myself that I have to be very aware of where I am now.

Andrea 8:40
So I'm going to ask you a question. Where are you right now when it comes to your life and in your business? Have you been able to identify what comes next for you? Like, do you even know what that gap would be? To go from where you are now to where you want to be? I mean, that's the first step right is to identify what it is that you desire. So when I was first starting 75 hard, I knew that I had an ultimate goal of the amount of weight I wanted to lose. But within the first 75 days, my goal was 20 pounds. And I chose 20 because I felt like that was a safe, healthy amount to lose. But I also felt as though it was a challenge for me to do so. And I had to start to see myself as that person who was 20 pounds less. And what would it take for me to close that gap between where I am now and where I desire to be.

Andrea 9:43
So once you have identified where you're at, then you start to see okay, well what comes next? Where do I want to go? And how am I going to take a step into that next version of myself and then how can I embody that version of myself. And this is where the mindset work came in for me when it came to 75 hard because at first I was doing all the workouts, I was drinking all the water I was eating, you know what I was supposed to be eating, everything was going great. But then I started to plateau. And the reason why I plateaued was because I had not been doing the mindset work required to release the old version of myself, and to really step into that new version of me.

Andrea 10:35
And so I had to start to, you know, see myself as who I was, but also start seeing myself and embodying the version of the woman that I am going to be 20 pounds less, what is she doing? How does she feel about herself? Where is she going, What Is she capable of, at 20 pounds less. And it's not just the the 20 pounds, it's really having achieved the goal, it's having, you know, gotten to that place where she feels more confident, more self assured, and, you know, is excited about buying summer clothes, I mean, all the things, right.

Andrea 11:11
And I think it's really important that we're able to see where we want to go. So let's bring it back to you know, business. Because when I started to shift my business and start to coach coaches, it wasn't a natural transition. At first, I knew that that was something I wanted to do. But I had been coaching women in their purpose, and women who wanted to leave their nine to fives and kind of come into more purposeful career for themselves. But now I was stepping from that into coaching coaches, and I knew that that was where I was supposed to be. But in order for me to actually attract those coaches into my business and into my world, I had to embody that next level version of myself, or else, I would just continue to attract the clients that I had been working with up into that point.

Andrea 12:09
So I had to, first of all, start seeing myself coaching influential coaches, and I had to envision myself, you know, working with them and envision who they were, what kind of characteristics they had I had to start working on myself and up leveling my knowledge base. So for me, that was learning NLP. And it was, you know, really getting a handle on some new coaching certifications, so that I had more tools to be able to help coaches in a better way.

Andrea 12:46
I had to take a look at what I was offering, you know, was that something that they were going to want? Would it resonate with them? Would they want to actually be in those programs, and then I had to start showing up as that influential coach myself. And that is where the mindset piece really, really kicked in for me. So you see that all of this relates to one another, whether it's your physical fitness, whether it is your business, whether it is abundance, wealth, mindset, relationships, that doesn't really matter. But we're always moving forward. And all areas of our lives will move forward as we start to tackle even one. So I have some questions that I want to leave with you today. And I want you to think about Degas, if you're going to step into that next level version of yourself and really, truly embody that version, you have to number one, release, what is holding you back, kind of like the upgrade system, right?

Andrea 13:50
So for me, you know, going through my computer system, like deleting files, deleting pictures, and all sorts of things leaving music, well for you, it's more about, you know, really letting go releasing old thoughts, old ways of being old habits, things that you have been doing, because what you are doing now is not going to get you where you want to go.

Andrea 14:15
And that really requires you to take a look at what is holding you back right now. Are there mindsets holding you back? Are there environmental influences holding you back? What's holding you back, currently keeping you from embodying that next version? Number two, get really, really clear on who you want to become and how you want to make an impact.

Andrea 14:43
Take a look at how would you be thinking, what were you what would you be doing? Who would you be hanging out with? How would you feel about yourself in this new version? Because I would bet money that this new version of or self is more confident and self assured, then the the version of you now, how is the new version of you impacting others in the same way you are now? Or is it at the next level, right. And if we're really clear on what that is, then it's easier for us to get there, then be like, Well, I don't really know, maybe I'll be doing this, maybe I'd be doing that just get super, super clear on what that is. And then of course, number three, take action, you've got to actually do, you've got to do the work, you've got to put action in the embodiment piece. You can't just manifest it into being or think it into being or prayer or hope it or wish it into being. It's so so important that as you get clear on what it is you desire. And as you release those old limiting beliefs and those old patterns that are holding you back, that you start taking action, moving towards where you want to go, and how you can start embodying that next level version.

Unknown Speaker 16:05
Because as you take one step and embody that step, and that version, it just increases and increases and increases, you don't have to jump right straight from where you are now to where you're going. There's going to be incremental shifts along the way, and you're going to be able to move forward as you go. But it is so important that if you really truly want to make an impact, and if you want to start moving forward, as a coach, as an entrepreneur, in your business and in your life, because they both go hand in hand, you're going to have to start embodying that next level version of yourself now.
