242 | How To Move Towards Your Goals Faster

WITH ANDREA CRISP

If you are focused on who you are right now (the identity of your old behaviours) then you will stay there.
— Andrea Crisp

Your desires and goals are important. So important (in fact) that once you have thought about them they are in the creation process. But that is where most people get stuck. We allow ourselves to dream but then place our attention back on what we lack when really we need to be focusing on what we desire. Today on the podcast I'm going to share with you how I have changed my perspective when it comes to manifestation and how I personally move towards my desires and goals.

Journal Prompts:

  1. Is this serving me (these thoughts)?

  2. What are you trying to get away from?

  3. Are you trying to justify your old circumstances?

  4. Do you believe that you deserve or are worthy of your goals /desires?

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

Your desires and goals are important. So important, in fact, that once you've thought about them, they are in the creation process. But that is where most people get stuck, allowing ourselves to dream, but then placing our attention back on what we lack, when really, we need to be focusing on what we desire. Today on the podcast, I'm going to share with you how I've changed my perspective, when it comes to manifestation, and how I personally move towards my desires and goals.

Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love? Welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, mindset coach, author, and a multi passionate entrepreneur. For years, I was afraid to allow myself to shine that was until I discovered that I could step into my own power, shift my mindset and take ownership of my own destiny. Now I coach women across the globe who are ready to own their life and make a massive impact. Each week, I'll share conversations with amazing humans who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hey, friend, welcome to the courage cast. This is Andrea, I am your host, and I'm excited to be with you today. Oh my gosh, we are nearing the holidays, we have just had American Thanksgiving, which you know, of course, I did not celebrate because I'm Canadian. But you know, the whole world basically stops for American Thanksgiving. And of course, all the Black Friday stuff. And this year as Christmas kind of edges closer and closer. There are a lot of things that are different for me. And I am feeling this sense of anticipation and excitement. But here's the thing. This is the very first year, like in my whole adult life, oh, probably also in my whole life in general, that I will be spending Christmas without my immediate family. I know crazy, right? So I am in love with Christmas, I love the holidays. So it does feel a bit strange that I will not be with my family. But I have decided that I am still going to be very intentional about keeping my focus on what I choose to create around the holidays, even though I will be on my own.

So that brings me to a question that I wanted to open today's podcast episode on. Are you someone who is moving towards your desires and goals? Or are you someone who is trying to move away from your current circumstances? Now, you may not think there's much of a difference between those two questions. But there really is and how you approach your own growth and expansion will determine the results that you get when you are creating a goal in your life or when you are being clear about your desires. And I spent the majority of my adulthood, moving away from my circumstances, trying to escape whatever it was that I wanted to move away from. And instead of looking at how I could move towards what I desired, I was always running from the lack in my life. And I thought that I was doing the right thing. It felt like what I was supposed to be doing. But it was really a futile attempt at trying to change my life. And even when I thought about the Christmas holidays and how you know, it's quickly approaching. At first I was like, Oh, well what if I'm really sad and feeling alone and you know, all of these things, right? And I was thinking, what if I feel bad. And that would be me trying to move away from circumstances.

And instead what I decided to do was to focus on creating intentionally what I desire in my life around the holidays. And that really boils down to peace and joy and contentment and fun. And I bring all of those things. So I can have all of that even if I'm not around my immediate family. This was a huge reality check for me, because I started to see that when I am trying to run on things, I'm actually staying in the vibration and the frequency of what I'm trying to run from, versus when I am moving towards what I desire, and allowing myself to already feel that way, then it's almost as though it has already happened. So I want to talk to you about what it looks like to move towards your goals, and how that works when it comes to manifestation. And, you know, maybe you're in a place where you're thinking, you know, I want to grow my business, or I want to earn more income, or I want to work with different kinds of clientele. Or maybe you want to get fit and healthy and lose weight. And all of those things have been different desires, and goals in my own life. And I have to honestly say that many times probably all of the times that I've tried to accomplish those goals, I maybe got to the goal, but then like, totally went backwards, and gained all the way back or found myself yo yoing in my finances, or found myself not really moving forward with my goals. And so I wanted to share with you what I have found that is working for me, so that you can apply this to your life as well. Here are a few examples. First of all, when I wanted to lose weight and get healthy, you would usually put my attention on how much weight I wanted to lose, right, because I was creating a goal.

And I would say if I wanted to lose this many pounds this many inches, and almost becomes you know, moving away from this weight, you're at the current weight, you're at the current state you're in to get to where you want to go. But I would find that I always hung on to those pounds, like they never left me, no matter what I did, I could be eating all the right foods I could be working out, I could be drinking water. And I never truly truly lost the weight. The only time that have ever been successful when it comes to weight management in any way, is when I wanted to train for a 10k. And I've talked about this before in another podcast, and really, you know, planning on actually achieving something and focusing on the achievement of that thing, which was running 10 kilometers, the byproduct of which was losing weight, because I had to train for it. And in training for it, I actually lost I think probably over 30 pounds at the time. Now here's the thing, I was focused on what I desired, not focused on the weight I was at, or the current situation I found myself in when it came to earning more money and my business, it was the same thing. My attention was on what I was currently doing how much money I was currently making, not on the amount of money I wanted to create not on moving towards that and what that would look like to move towards that amount.

And then thirdly, the the last example I'm gonna share with you, when it comes to this is building new connections and having deeper relationships. Now, this one has been a little easier for me. But in the past, when I would focus on, you know, what I didn't have, I didn't have friends, I didn't have people in my life, I didn't have, you know, the right kind of connections to you know, grow or to expand. Then I stayed exactly where I was. And I that was exactly what has happened to me over the past few years. I'm not gonna lie. Being in a small town, I had it in my mind that there was no way that I was going to build relationships. And I had to shift my perspective and think about what I do desire and start relating it to other times in my life where I have been able to make friends. And it's been so easy to make friends. Because I was focusing on what I desired.

So maybe you find yourself in a position in your life right now where you're like, Yeah, I do have desires. I have goals, like maybe you're trying to finish things off for the year, but maybe you're trying to think about what do you want to build next year and 2023 As I've said many many times before, where your attention goes is exactly where you will end up. So let me spell it out for you. Okay, where your attention is placed, is going to be what you attract into your life. So if you're looking to move away from something, and you're focused on moving away from it, versus on really attracting what you desire, you will attract more of the thing you don't want. And when I say the word attract what I actually mean is that you'll be so focused on What you don't want that it will consume your thoughts. I don't know if you've ever had this happen, where it's like, literally, your mind is being bombarded by thought after thought after thought. And you'll end up taking action from a place of lack versus taking action towards what you desire, which is from your desire, it's like taking action from it already being accomplished.

Like, if you knew already, how you were going to accomplish something, how you were going to achieve a certain goal, how you were going to get there, then you would know how to take action from that place. So I want to invite you to think about a current goal you have in your life right? Now, you may want to pause the podcast, take a moment to write it out. Really get specific about what you want the outcome to be. And when you're doing that, take a moment to write a how you're going to feel when you've accomplished this goal, or you've achieved this particular thing, or you've manifested something into your life. Visualize yourself having accomplished the goal, or receiving the desire, see yourself in that place, feel what you're gonna feel, hear what you might hear someone say to you, make it so real for you, as if it has all already happened.

Okay. And as you're doing that, how do you feel thinking about that goal, like, if you're already there, and you've already achieved something doesn't feel amazing, because you're already there. Now, if you've never done this before, in full disclosure, it may seem a little strange, because you're like, Well, I've never done this, and I don't know how I'm going to feel. So I would say, start with something small. And start with something that you can actually have that feeling, you can understand how you're going to feel you know how you would feel, maybe you're going to even equate it to something else in your life that you have had a result in. So let's use this as an example. Maybe you want to make a certain amount of money in your business. But you have never done that before. So you're like, I have no idea how I'd feel if I did that. But you do know what it takes to run a 10k or half marathon or marathon even you understand that feeling will then replace that feeling with the one that you desire, so that you know how you would feel you'd be like, well, if I crossed the finish line, I would feel amazing will imagine yourself crossing the finish line. But being making the money you desire.

And allow yourself to truly feel that. In my own personal life. One of the goals that I've had over the past few months is to be more present in my real life and make more connections in real life. Okay, so I've already kind of mentioned this. But when I was first thinking about this school, I was focusing on the fact that I didn't know how I was going to make friends here in the small town that I live in. Because I've lived here for three years, I have not really made any friends. I mean, no, that sounds really sad and pathetic. But in my life, I have lived a lot of places and I have made friends super easy. But then the pandemic, all things right. So I was like, how am I going to do this. And when I was focusing on what I was not able to do on the fact that I've already been through here three years, on the fact that there was a pandemic, on the fact that people really don't kind of have the same kind of interests that I do. Then I was like, Oh, I'm gonna stay stuck in this rut. So I needed a new approach.

In the past, I might have approached things much differently, I might have approached it from the fact that I've been, you know, alone for so long. I'm in a small town, all the things, but I knew that was not working. So I had to focus on what I desired and moving towards the outcome and the result. You see how it works. Now, it was so interesting, because as I was writing this podcast today, I actually came across this quote, when you are enjoying your own desire, that means you're in the vibrational vicinity of it, you are cooperating with it. And that's an Abraham Hicks quote. I love that when you're enjoying your own desire you're in the vibrational vicinity of it means you're closer to so when you are thinking about what you desire. When you are in the energy of what you desire, you're closer to the desire. The more you are in the lack. The more you are focused on what you don't have, the more you're going to be out of vibrational frequency of what it is. means there's going to be more resistance, more blocks, more things that are going to keep you from what it is that you desire. And I cannot stress to you how as many places as has come up for me in my life, I wouldn't even have enough time to tell you on a podcast, how often this has manifested in my life, because I was always constantly, I was consistently focused on what I didn't have.

So, here's some fun things to think about. When you think about it, you have the fun, you get to enjoy witnessing your desires coming into reality. Like think about that, like it's a process, it's a journey, you actually get to be witness bear witness to the creation of your desires. And when you think about that, it's like, Oh, my goodness, this is gonna be so fun. Like, this is the thing I desire. And I wonder how it's gonna happen? How I don't know. But I'm excited. And I'm anticipating it happening, and knowing that you can turn your thoughts into things. So when you're thinking about your own circumstances, and your own desires, the things that you do want, here are some things that you can be taking a look at it, do you think to yourself, well, I need this because my circumstances aren't good. Because if you're using that, as you know, kind of like the plumb line for yourself, then you're probably going to be looking at the lack, right? I need this because my circumstances aren't good. Versus I desire this, because of how much it's going to benefit me or how it's going to make my life better. See the difference?

Because I know that part of you wants the goal. But the other part of you is really holding on to the lack. Because if you're gonna stay in a position where you're justifying defending your current circumstances, like, oh, it's never gonna happen. These are the reasons these are the circumstances, oh, poor, me, I'm the victim in this, you are going to stay in that vibration, you're going to stay contrary to what your desire truly is, which is the result, the goal that you want. And that's going to keep you in resistance, and keep you from moving towards what you desire and receiving what you desire. So here are four questions that you can actually journal on to really ask yourself whether or not you are moving towards what you desire. Or you're focusing on what you lack.

Number one, is this thought serving me? Wow, okay. Just even that right there? Is this thought serving me?

Number two, what am I trying to get away from? Am I trying to justify my old circumstances?

Am I trying to defend them?

And then the fourth question is, do I believe that I am worthy of deserving these goals and desires, these four questions are going to help you to know whether or not you're in the energy of lack, or you're the in the energy of receiving or of abundance. Because if you're focused on where you are right now, the identity of your old behaviors, the old limitations, the old ways of being, you're going to stay there, and you're going to keep attracting more of the same. But when you step into the identity of what you desire, that is when you are going to attract what you desire.

And then it's easy to take aligned action because you already know you're worthy of achieving that you're worthy of having that because you can already feel as though you have created it because it has come into being even though it has not come into reality. And then look for the evidence, look for things signs to show up to indicate to you that you're on the right path that you are moving towards it that you are getting there. Allow yourself to have more expectation of receiving it than doubt of not receiving it. Okay? Now, all of this is really to help you to move towards your goals in a way that just is an alignment with who you are right? And I titled it faster, but I mean, really, to move towards your goals is just generally what we desire, and what we want and moving towards becoming that version of ourselves that has those things.

Now, moving forward into the new year, I am going to be opening up spots for the VIP experience. And I've called it the limitless VIP experience for a reason. Because I truly believe that we are all meant to be limitless and that we can be in the energy of what we desire, whether it be in our personal lives or Whether that be in our business, and so often we get stuck in the old mindsets, the old behaviors, the old identities of who we believe ourselves to be. And we know we want to move forward, we know we want to get there.

But we're not really entirely sure how to do that, or how to move past it, or how to integrate these new thoughts. Like, you know, maybe you think you're never going to get there, you're never going to achieve the success you desire, you're never going to have the clients to have a sustainable business. The limitless VIP experience is all about you, stepping in, you taking that opportunity for you to move towards your future self. And really embodying that in a way that truly allows you to attract what you desire. So if you're interested in that, I invite you to check out the website, Andrew chris.ca, forward slash VIP and I will put that in a link here so that you can see it, and invite you to just think about whether or not this is something for you. 241 | Courage Comes Through Action

WITH ANDREA CRISP

Sometimes it’s not the big decisions that are the hardest to act upon, sometimes it is the small ones.
— Andrea Crisp

The reason you are in confusion has nothing to do with the lack of clarity you have in your life and business. It is simply a bi-product of doing nothing and yet hoping that things magically fall into place.

Your blocks (limiting beliefs) may be telling you that you need more clarity but that is really your old narrative trying to keep you from moving forward.

The truth is you need to take action. Your confidence and clarity will increase exponentially when you take one step. And then another, and then another. The key it to act!

In this episode I am letting you in on what I have learned through action and inaction.

Welcome to the courage cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, and empowerment coach, author, and a multi passionate entrepreneur. For years, I was afraid to allow myself to shine. That was until I discovered that I could step into my own power, shift my mindset and take ownership of my destiny. Now I coach women across the globe, who are ready to own their life and make a massive impact. With a blend of practical and spiritual advice. My hope is that the courage cast empowers you to take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hello, friend, welcome to the Courage Cast. I don't know about you. But this past week has felt a bit like a whirlwind. And we're just literally getting into the holiday season. Today is Black Friday. And honestly, it was intense. And looking back at the day, I almost wish that I would have just turned my phone completely off and went into isolation for a few days. So notice off, maybe that is exactly what I need to do next year. So when I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you for this week's podcast episode, something came up for me, and it feels a bit personal. So I hope that's okay, because we're just gonna get down and dirty today.

But I want to share with you what I have been learning about who I am, and what I'm capable of when it comes to taking courageous steps in my own life. So I titled this episode, Courage comes through action. And it's been literally about five plus years since I started the podcast. And when I decided to start it, I call it the courage cast. Because there was a need in my own life to be courageous, I needed to remind myself that it was okay to take baby steps. And that things did not have to be perfect for me to take action. And as a recovering perfectionist, that is a pretty big deal. So I knew that I wanted to live a bigger life.

And I knew that I was playing small, I was not taking action on things. I was not really living into my full potential. And I knew that there was more for me. So courage was something that I needed. It was something that was really important for me, in order for me to create that momentum in my life. And if I needed it, I know that there are other people who also need it as well. And maybe you are one of those people. And so here we are many years later, many episodes later. This is episode 241.

And I find that I am still learning this lesson, still trying to take brave steps in my life. And there have been many times when I have let the overwhelm keep me from moving forward. Keep me from doing what I truly believe is necessary for me and the growth of my business. So I want to start this episode by sharing a story with you. And for those of you who don't know, I am a huge ice skating fan, especially when it comes to ice dance. It probably in past episodes. You've heard me talk about my love for ice dance. The Olympics has virtue Scott Moyer. All the things. I'm literally obsessed. So I go to every single skating show possible. And I love going I get front row tickets. My mom and I by the backstage meet and greets. We go and meet all of the skaters.

It's like literally, like the best thing, and I love everything about it. And every day, my mom and I go to see the stars on a show in Toronto. It's basically our Mother's Day tradition. So when I found out that they were having a holiday show, I was so excited. The only problem was that I didn't have anyone to go with, my mom was already gonna be in Florida, she leaves very soon. And I don't really have any friends here that love ice skating, or interested in going to sea ice skating. So I was like, Okay, I guess I'm going to be on my own. And I thought, Oh, I don't know, do I really want to go on myself. But deep down, I really wanted to go. So I decided to take a look at the website and see how much the ticket prices were. And I know that they're pretty expensive.

And just as I expected they were and I kind of was like thinking okay, maybe I'll go maybe I won't, maybe I'll buy you know, maybe I'll get Senator ice tickets, maybe I'll find tickets are just a little less expensive. So I was in a bit of a quandary. And I was thinking about it, thinking about thinking about it to the point that I was driving myself crazy. So I decided I'm gonna just go ahead and buy myself a ticket, which is what I thought I did. However, as I was preparing this podcast, I was looking through some white emails, I was looking through the website to find the ticket that I bought. And I realized that I made a huge mistake. And I have thought that I bought the ticket to go see stars a nice holiday show. And upon investigation, I did not buy the ticket. So just trying to tell you, I'm actually feeling my blood pressure, just increase right now. I was so mad, like, I was like livid. And for several reasons.

Firstly, I thought that had bought and paid for this front row ticket that was very expensive. And I was excited to go. And it was only like a few short weeks away from the show. And now I don't have the ticket. And secondly, I have waited, I had waited so long to take action on buying the ticket going back and forth in my decision making that I ended up not even buying the ticket, which is crazy to me. So my indecision had cost me it was basically my lack of action, in full effect, which I have been finding lately, is the exact reason why I am not creating momentum in my life. And I'm not creating what it is that I truly desire. So when I titled this podcast episode, Courage comes through action, I'll tell you what comes through inaction. Indecision comes before inaction.

Okay, so here's the thing, I can still get the tickets, right, I can still go on the website. And there are still tickets available. And I can purchase one and especially because it's just me, there is a possibility of me being able to find a ticket and go. But the problem is, is that a I've got to come up with the money again. And I wasn't prepared to do it now. So not only is this showing up in my life, in this regard, but it's also showing up in other places as well. This is just one small example of how this has manifested in my life and will continue to manifest in my life. If I continue to stay in indecision. And, friend, if you are finding yourself in the same place, where you are being indecisive about things when you are not taking action, for whatever reason, that is, you will also stay exactly where you are. Let me ask you, where is inaction or indecision showing up in your life?

Are you sitting on something in your business right now? Maybe not taking action? Because you think Well, I just need a little bit more clarity. If I had more clarity on this, then I would know exactly what to do. And I would make the decision or are you finding yourself indecisive about joining a particular Coaching Program, or being in a mastermind. And every day that you sit on this particular decision, the price goes up, or the seats fill up, or all of a sudden, you won't be able to get in because it's not available anymore? Or are you going back and forth between which coach you want to work with, and you're just getting more and more confused? Because you keep thinking, Well, what if this one can offer this? Or that one can offer that? Or perhaps you're, you know, not only feeling this in your business, but you're also feeling it in your life? And it's showing up?

Like, when you think about, you know, what do I want to do for the holidays? Do I want to, you know, go see my family? Do I want to stay where I am? Do I want to be with friends? How much time do I really want to take off, and you're just all over the place. When you lack the courage to make decisions, you will stay stuck, you will stay in the exact same spot you are in, when I think about the fact that I was sitting on this decision to buy the tickets or not. And then here I am with no ticket. Even after months of thinking I had one. It is a reminder to me that when decisions present themselves, it is important to take action right away. And here's the thing, oftentimes, we're intuitively guided, and we know that we are but we still don't take action, which was exactly where I found myself. And when you lack the courage to take action, it actually keeps you in overwhelm. It keeps you in that confused state. And it keeps you like searching and searching and trying to find the next best thing.

Because you feel as though you're always missing out on something. And when this shows up in my life as a pattern, it becomes something that I know that I need to pay attention to. And that is exactly why it was like, it is so important for me to record this podcast episode, because it's something that I'm currently going through. And even like when I take a look at how this is, you know, reflecting in my business, I'm putting off decisions when it comes to my schedule, I'm putting off decisions when it comes to the direction of my business. And because of those indecisions. And because of those lack of action and intentional action, I have felt internally confused, there has been a lot of chaos. And even some days, I feel like I'm just so overwhelmed that I don't want to do anything at all. So I'm going back into the story. So as I sat there was looking for the tickets and of scouring these emails. I thought to myself, You know what, I need to learn how to make decisions, no matter how big or how small right away, no matter the consequences, it is time to show up courageously in every area of my life. And I challenge you to do the same.

I challenge you to start showing up courageously and take action, the moment the moment you feel like the decision has been made. So here are maybe some of the reasons why you are not taking action. The first one is no surprise, it is our need for approval. So whether that is showing up in your business or in your personal life, if you find that you are in constant need for someone else's approval, whether it be your partner, your family members, your coach, your mentor, or even your biz bestie if you are looking for someone's approval, you are either going to make a decision that does not feel aligned with you. Or you may sit on making a decision because you feel like you don't know what that person would really approve of. And would they approve of that decision? Would they approve of you taking that action?

And that will keep you from moving forward? Or maybe you're afraid of how things turn out or that they won't turn out the way you expect them to turn out. You know so often when we are are trying to make decisions, we are not in control of the outcome. So when we are making a decision, we're basically rolling the dice anyways, because we don't know we're not guaranteed any results. But the first step is always making the decision. And the second step is taking action. And the last part is releasing the outcome, which means that we don't really know what's going to happen. So there's a little bit of surrender involved. Okay, there's a lot of surrender involved. The next one is maybe you just have this fear of disappointing someone in your life, maybe you've, you know, really been trying for a long time to make someone happy. Maybe you're in a relationship where, you know, you've spent a lot of money and you're just trying to think, Oh, I just don't want to disappoint them.

Again, I don't want to fail again. And so you have this pressure on yourself to perform a certain way to act a certain way. Because you are in fear of disappointing someone that you care about. Or the fact that maybe it's all going to go wrong, and then what, maybe you're going to have to start over again, maybe you'll have to, you know, do 10 more steps to get back on track. I mean, there is really no guarantee to anything in life. But you're not going to find out what's on the other side of your decision, until you make that decision. And until you take action. And the last one, which is really scary for a lot of people, myself included, is what if I lose out on money? What if I lose out on the time? What if I lose out in relationships? Because I've made this decision? There are so many times where I've hesitated to do things, for fear that I wouldn't have the money, that I wouldn't make the money that I would lose a bunch of time or that I would lose time freedom in my life? Or what if I, you know, don't have that friend anymore? What if that person doesn't like me? What if they reject me, all of these things play into our fears and our hesitations around making decisions and around taking action.

And I know that you have probably bumped up against all of those things, probably multiple times in your life. So I propose that we learn to start taking decisions in a way that really allows us to create momentum, to create freedom, and to create exactly what we desire in our lives. So instead of focusing on what we might miss out on, I want us to take a look at the possibilities of what could happen when things go right. Like perhaps we just learned to discern our own internal guidance. And we know that no matter what, when we're following our intuition, we're always being led in the right direction. So whether or not things turn out or not, we know that we took the step we needed to take, and whatever we're going to learn from the outcome was meant for us. And, hey, no matter what happens, it is for our good versus looking for the approval of someone else. And we really don't know if whether or not we were supposed to gone down that road or not. But we did because we were looking for the approval of someone else. And we had to take three steps back and completely go around the mountain to get right back to where we started. The next one is realize that sometimes things go sideways, no matter how hard we try, and that's just life. And that's okay. Like I said before, there is no guarantee. But when you start to live, like there is no guarantee, then it becomes okay, like, oh, well, this might fail. And then I get up and try again. And then I pivot and then I grow and expand and learn something about myself.

The next one is letting go of other people's expectations for us or of us. We're never going to be able to really live up to them anyways. So what's the point of trying to live up to someone's expectations of us us or for us, then we just need to surrender to the outcome. It's okay. Whatever happens, happens, whatever happens was meant to happen is for our good is for our growth and expansion is going to lead to the next thing that we need. Almost like saying, this is actually how we're meant to live life is by trying, finding out something didn't work exactly as intended. And moving forward anyways. I mean, I don't know about you. But yeah, that sounds like someone who has success in their life. And then the last one is nothing lost, nothing gained.

If we're not willing to try, we will never know the possibilities we will never receive what could be on the other side of our actions. On the other side of just being brave, and taking those courageous steps. And this was a big lesson that I needed to learn when it came to finances. So a few months ago, I was trying to decide whether or not I should invest in a program that would help me with my business finances, even though I knew that it would be beneficial. There was a part of me that was in fear. A part of me, wasn't really sure if I was ready, there was a part of me that wanted to say yes, but I literally hesitated for over a month before I took that step.

And it wasn't because I didn't know what I wanted. Because I actually didn't know what I wanted. It was because I was acting out of an old paradigm, or an old identity, the identity of someone who lacks the confidence to make decisions. So this past week, we were on a call. And spoiler alert, I did sign up. And my money mentor, Vanessa calls us out on her hesitations. And she says, the reason why you're not taking action is not because you don't have clarity. It's because you're operating out of a version of yourself. That as a lack mindset, and that lives in scarcity. And honestly, I just sat there in complete shock, because I was like, You're right. I had to really take that in, in that ask myself, what am I really afraid of? What is the limiting belief that is keeping me from taking action, and even when I know what action I should be taking. And it can come down to all sorts of reasons, all of the forementioned reasons.

And for you, you might be hesitating on doing something taking action, because you're living out of an old identity. You're living out of scarcity out of fear. And for me, it was just needing the approval of the people in my life to take those steps. Even when I know that there is something for me, I have found myself hesitating. And so I was asked myself, well, why? Well, because deep down subconsciously, I have a fear that my decision, the one I'm making is going to be the wrong one. And that is an old paradigm, an old narrative that shows up in my life over and over and over. And it is revealing itself to me so that I can do the work to change it. Now for you, it may look different, it doesn't necessarily have to be approval, it doesn't have to be, you know that you're in fear of scarcity, it could be many different things.

But what I do know is that if you don't identify where that limiting belief is coming from, and then shift the belief, you will continue to operate out of it. You will make decisions out of that belief. And then you will take actions that are in alignment with that belief, or in my case, not take any action at all, which can be the same result. So sometimes it's not just the big decisions that are the hardest Act One. Sometimes it's the small ones, like the example I gave you of buying the ticket or enrolling in a program. It doesn't matter how big or how small the decision is that you make.

It's about being courageous and taking those brave steps and being in intentional about the action you take. So I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you for the next seven days to take action on all the small things in your life. Every little decision that comes your way to make an immediate decision and take action right away and I want to do the same thing. We're going to be courageous decision makers. Are you ready to take that next step in your life towards success? Today on the Courage Cast, I'm going to share with you three tips to really not only be successful, but how to embody that next level version of yourself. Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life in business you love.

Hey there, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I'm so glad that you are joining me today, you are in for a treat, because we're going to be talking about success and what it really takes to be successful in your life. And if this is something that you have felt as though it has been eluding you, then I want to encourage you to press pause on the episode right now, go grab a pen and paper or open up your notes app on your phone and take some notes. Because honestly, I truly, truly believe that if you can start out working these three principles, these three keys in your life, everything in your life will change. And you will start being successful at a whole new level.

There was a time in my life that I absolutely hated, running. Like when I mean hated. I really like had this loathing feeling to running. It felt a bit like the bane of my existence. And it all stems back to when I was in college. I was basically I think, forced into taking a mandatory reading class. And it was something that we all had to take in my college, it was a Christian liberal arts college. And I don't know it sounds super archaic now to think about the fact that we had to take a running class. But we did. And I waited and waited and waited to finally sign up for this class. And it was literally the last thing I wanted to do. Now, I'm not sure if I made it up. I mean, there's been so many years that have passed since then. But I really, this is the excuse I used, I would tell the coach every single day that I'd go into the class that I had shin splints, and this actually got me out of running. So either was the smartest person in the world, or the stupidest depending on how you look at it. Because when the last day of our running class came in the spring of that year, our coach called on everyone to go outside and we were going to run the track. And I remember thinking to myself, like well, I probably shouldn't be running the track, considering you've had me on the stationary bike this entire time, because I had shin splints.

But I ended up having to run alongside every other person in the class, who had been preparing for an entire semester for this running test. Now I've blocked out a lot of it, I have no idea how many kilometers or miles we even ran. But honestly, it was the worst experience. So here we were standing at the track, we were put into pairs I was paired up, surprisingly, one of the fastest and best male runners in the class. So we were going to be tallying everyone's laps as they ran. So I had him and I would count how many laps he had. And basically what we were doing is you know, we were cheering that person on. So of course he ran his, you know, time it was so fantastic. Everybody was cheering him on at the end. And then it came time for the girls to start at the starting line. And the first little bit seemed fine. It's like anything right? You start running and you're like yeah, okay, I can do this. But then as I got through like basically to the end of like lap one. I was dying like my legs were cramping. My heart and my chest like they felt like they were going to like, just completely burn up and explode. And I was so dry, like, my mouth was so dry, I could barely even swallow.

And so what we were doing is as we would lap through, we would give popsicle sticks to our partner. And that was the way to count how many laps that person had left, which I mean is crazy, because they didn't want anyone to cheat. So they use popsicle sticks. And as I started, you know, basically to get worse and worse with the running. My partner would run alongside of me when I would go by him on the side of the track. And he would encourage me, he helped me keep going. And then as we got closer to the end of my time, he was literally running the entire way around with me, just to keep me motivated. And just to keep me going. And when I finally crossed the finish line, I literally collapsed to the ground. And I remember laying there like I thought I was literally going to die like the coach was telling me to get up and walk around and I was like, get up, walk around. What do you what are you kidding me like I can barely I'm like, I'm barely breathing, let alone walk around. And as I lay there on the ground in the grass, I made up my mind, I would never, I mean, I would never run again. I was not a runner. I had never been meant to be a runner. And I would never, in my lifetime ever run again. And the reason why I tell you this story is because literally almost two decades later, I found myself living by that narrative that I was not a runner. It was part of who I was, I had taken on the identity of someone who really never ran.

And I would joke about I only run unless I'm chased. And honestly, it was something in my life that I lived and breathed by. And I would brag even that I wasn't a runner, I created an entire narrative and entire identity around how bad of a runner I was. And that kind of stayed with me up until I was probably about 38 years old. I'm thinking it was 38. Now when I look back, but when I was 38, I was working at a church. And I was working with some of the younger staff and we were talking one day. And they were talking about training for a particular race. And one of the girls had been running for some time. And she had just completed a race in Toronto, and she was going to prepare for another one. And she said to me, why don't you train with me? And I was like, you've got to be kidding me. You must not know. I am not a runner. So I went into the whole spiel of what this all entailed. And for some reason, Michelle convinced me to try. So I don't know what she did. That made me even think it was possible. But I actually decided that I would start training for a race.

And I was thinking probably I should do a 5k first that was like my my first gut instinct, because obviously that's what people do is a 5k. And she encouraged me she's like, You know what, I would go bigger than that I would go right to a 10k. So, before I knew it, I was signed up for a 10k it was the zoo run in Toronto, and I basically needed to start training right away. So this podcast title today is basically titled How you think, feel and act will determine how successful you become. And the reason why I'm relating this story about running to this particular topic is because this is something in my own life, an example a real example in my own life, where I saw this completely change in my life and I'm going to share with you how that change and what manifested within my life.

But it all started when I started to realize that my thoughts have power and everything that I really had believed about myself whether that was relationally physically, business Spiritual, financial, anything, anything and everything all stemmed from what I thought. So I started to recognize where my thoughts were coming into play here, I started to really become more aware of what I was thinking all the time, this is something that I'm doing on a regular basis, this is something that I even work with my clients with, is becoming aware of what are we thinking, because our thoughts are really so powerful, that we can think ourselves into an entire story, or perception about something in our lives. And everything that has manifested within your life up until this point, has stemmed from what you think and feel, and the action you take to manifest it, whether it be good or bad. So for me, it was thoughts like I'm not smart. And that one came from a narrative in high school where I just consistently failed grade 10 math over and over and over again, then, of course, I will be the last of my friends to get married.

This is also something that manifested in high school because I remember thinking to myself, all my friends always have boyfriends, and they always easily get dates. And I had this whole story wrapped around how I had a hard time dating, and I would be the last person to get married. And sure enough, here I am. 48 years old, never been married. Okay. So if you don't think there are power in your thoughts, let me tell you right here and right now, there are significant power in your thoughts. So you may think to yourself, well, Andrea, like, if there's so much power in your thoughts, and why haven't you changed your thought patterns around getting married, I have to honestly say to you, this is something that I'm actively working on. And I know that has taken me a long time to get to where I am today. And I have to undo and reframe, though thought those thoughts in my own life.

Another one was, you know, when I became an entrepreneur was I will never have a successful online business. And that was a story that I told myself, when I started seeing everyone around me that was starting their businesses start to succeed, and I wasn't succeeding as fast. So I developed a whole narrative, a whole story around that, and what that looked like for me, and all of these thoughts, every one of those thoughts, and many more that I've had to work with, I've had to deal with, I've had to uproot in my life, I've had to reframe, were really about me not being smart enough, not being able to be in relationships, not being able to be successful, not being able to be financially stable. And those thoughts, those thoughts, all culminating together, became my identity, who I was identifying as, and I literally had taken on the identity of someone who was not smart, was not marriage material was never going to be fine, financially successful, just like I had taken on the identity of not being a runner. And so wasn't until I really started doing this in depth, the work, the mindset work, to learn that we have the power to shift and change how we think, how we feel, and how we act.

And when I started to understand this principle, when I started to live this principle out in my life, and started to see that things were shifting in my life, I was shifting beliefs. And I was shifting the identity of who I had made myself be. And no, I read the book, I think it's called unbecoming it's Glennon Doyle. And this was years ago. And I remember thinking like, wow, like, Isn't this so much the truth because, you know, we spend a majority of our lives trying to become something. And then we have this like epiphany, and something happened in our lives, where we're like, we're gonna burn it all down. And Glen and Doyle talks about, unbecoming who we thought we needed to be. And for me, and becoming, was really about unraveling these beliefs, unraveling this identity and letting go of what I thought I was, and who I thought I was.

So just the other day, I was chatting on Voxer in Voxer, for those of you who don't know, is a text app and this is something that I use with my coaching clients, and we text and audio back and forth throughout the month and they can ask questions, we can talk about some of the limiting beliefs in their lives, I can give them real time answers and ask questions to help keep them moving forward. This is like a very, very powerful way to integrate these new thoughts in our lives. So on Voxer, I was chatting with one of my clients, and one of one of these things came up for her specifically. And I started to share with her how you think you feel an act are all going to be how you are going to shift your identity. But when you become aware of what those thoughts are, or when you become aware of the prevailing feelings or emotions that are present in your life, or the actions you're taking, that are in like hustle, or they're in inaction, you know, either one, that is really going to be telling of where you are now, and really how you can shift it to move forward.

And so as we were talking through Voxer, I was encouraging her to really start to shift her identity around who she is becoming. And we had already done the process of the unbecoming, which is identifying the limiting beliefs, which is really getting clear on where did that root in her life? And how do we start moving that forward? Now, I want to go back to this example of running, okay, so, as I mentioned, like, you already you already know, you already know, I, I had this belief, I had this identity, I was living out of the identity that I was not a good runner. And I basically had proof that I wasn't because obviously, I had failed or an in class lay laying on the grass, you know, thinking I was going to die. And identifying where that belief originated for me was step number one. So here it was 38 years old, and fast forwarding to when Michelle has asked me to sign up for this race. So we've signed up for the zoo run. And I'm going to start running and training for a 10 gay. And here I am, I'm going to go to the gym. And I'm going to start on the treadmill, because that's basically all I really knew. And it was still spring and so still pretty wet and cold outside. But if I had allowed for that old story in that old narrative to keep me where I was, in the past, I would never have even allowed myself to start.

But I was starting to uproot this belief and this story, this narrative around who I was as a runner, and I had to start applying these principles to my life, I had to think as a runner. So before I even lace up my shoes and went to the gym, I literally had to believe that I am a runner. Now this didn't start right away. Like this is something I had to kind of ease into. Thankfully, I had friends who were training with me, and we were checking in with each other, and we're watching each other's progress. And I didn't feel judged, I didn't feel shamed. I just kind of felt like you know what I I'll do what I need to do. And I literally remember running for my first consecutive five minutes on the treadmill. And it wasn't very fast.

But I made it through five minutes. And I was looking at the clock on the treadmill. And I remember going back to my condo and talking to my brother and telling him that I'd run for five minutes and how excited I was. And here's the kicker, my brother in high school, long distance runner, I kid you not. So I mean, is that not irony or what? So he was so proud of me. And he's like, good job, Andrew. And so he funny for him, because he's always had the identity of being a runner, even since he was a kid, and I did not have the identity of something else. Now, as I was like learning to think like a runner, then the next stage of it was starting to feel starting to embody what it would be to be a runner. And for me, this was all about having some sort of an emotional connection around the belief that I could be a runner. And as I continued my training, I would go through these highs and lows of being a runner. And you know, some days I was really sore. And some days I felt really good. And some days I didn't. But I was deeply, deeply connected with this vision and belief of myself running. And before I was ever running the 10k which I honestly never did until the day, I think two days before I was going to run.

I never had actually run 10 kilometers, but I had to envision myself doing it and see myself at the finish line like I had to endure Vision, I had to feel it in my body, I had to emotionally connect with it. And even when I talk about that with my clients now about how that that plays out in their lives, how are they feeling, and connecting with the vision for their lives and the vision for what they desire in their lives, it really is about deeply being connected to the outcome in a way that they can actually envision it happening. And so it's holding the belief as though it is already done. And then the third stage of this principle is really taking action. And so this is not necessarily just going into like hustle culture and hustle, you know, for your worth, or hustle and get all the things done. It's about being super, super intentional with your action. And when I was in the process of training, I remember one particular day I was running outside and I was coming to the end of my run.

And I must have been going like, I must have looked like I was dying because honestly the guy that was coming towards me, he he was like, you know, running full speed. And he literally put his hand out to High five me when he ran by. And as we like connected our palms to one another. I was like, literally infused with something that was like felt like otherworldly to me, I felt like it could do absolutely anything. Because I had embodied this version of myself, that was a runner. And it was almost as though he was allowing me to be part of this, this group of runners like he was say you're a runner. And, and I think that was the thing, like, as I've learned more and more about running culture, and as I learned about, you know what that feels like, it's like, you're a runner, even if you don't run, like you're a runner, if you've run five minutes, 10 minutes, five hours, I don't want to definitely do that. But, I mean, who knows, maybe someday. But here's the thing. As I was doing that, as I was thinking and feeling and acting like a runner, I literally had this moment where I was like, You know what I need to go out and I need to just buy myself some new gear. So when bought some new running shoes, I went and got some, you know, new Lululemon pants and like, just this whole outfit. And first it was like something that I was going to do as a reward to reaching a certain milestone.

But I honestly started to realize that this is not just a reward, like getting something new is not a reward. It's actually embodying and so often people talk about, like, get yourself something as a reward, and you're gonna look forward to it. And I say, you know, what, what about if you get it at the beginning, and start embodying that version of yourself now, like be her right now. So not only was I starting to dress like a runner, but I warmed up and I cooled down like a runner, and I had a playlist on my phone, I was literally a runner, even if I had the probably the slowest time on Face the earth. And it was a far cry from being in college like I kid you not. But when we learn to think, as what we desire, we take on the identity of what we desire. So whether that be success in our business, whether that be attracting a relationship clients, with that just is really about being confident in who you are. When you think as though you are that is actually coming to you. And the next step is feeling is really connecting emotionally to that outcome, connecting emotionally to who you are becoming in that, and allowing ourselves to envision ourselves in the outcome and being fully immersed in the emotions in the process. And then of course, acting as though we are in alignment with the outcome that we desire. It's taking that aligned action, it's about really discerning and being quick to decide on things that are full body Yes.

And like yes, I'm going to do that and I'm going to totally step out of my comfort zone and make that happen. So wherever you find yourself on this journey, when it comes to your mindset when it comes to really stepping into that next level version of yourself is always going to be necessary for you to think and feel and act as though it has all ready happened. So I was 38 when I ran my first 10k and since then I have run several races since and I even ran 10k on my 45th birthday, which was about three years ago. And honestly, I think back to my very first zoo run re so I was If Michelle and Peter and we had some other friends there, and my parents showed up, my dad, who was 65, at the time, even signed up for a 5k race, and he ran the 5k, while I ran the 10k. And while Michelle and Peter ran the 10k, and honestly, it was like one of the most monumental days of my life, it was a pivotal day, in who I am. And just last week, I was thinking about where I'm at with my body. And you know, just things that I've been going through physically and in through this year. And just like feeling like everything in my body is changing and shifting, and I feel I feel out of control of sometimes I really just do. And so I made this decision, that I am in a place in my life right now, where I, I really, truly want to embody the next version of myself when it comes to my health.

And when it comes to my fitness. And so I don't want to be a woman in her 40s, late 40s at that who's overweight, tired, moderately active, like that is not who I want to be. So I made a decision, then to start running again. I made the decision to embody this next version of myself in my fitness and in my health. And as I started doing that, I started going back to these principles, how do I want to think about me as a runner? How do I want to feel? And how do I want to act? And it's so surprising to me, because already it's almost like as though I'm infused with this running vibe, like your runner, Andrea. And the day I decided, I went to the gym, I got on the treadmill, and I ran my first five minutes. And you may say, well, it's only five minutes. And I'm like, No, I remember the first time I ran five minutes and how proud of myself I was. Because I had started, I had begun the process. And so even if it was painful, and it was, you know, like, I felt like my legs were burning. And they were, I ran my first five minutes. And I am embodying this next level version of myself by thinking feeling and acting as though I am her now. So my friend, I encourage you whatever goal you have, whether it's a goal that is going to complete out the year, or it's to start thinking about what's coming. If you truly want to be successful in any area of your life, any doesn't matter if it's relationships, business, health, fitness, whatever it is. It really is all about how you think, how you feel, and how you act and really stepping into the identity of the person who has already manifested that reality. And if you're thinking to yourself, Andrea, I want to do that that's exactly what I want to do. I want to shift something in my life and I am ready to take that step. I encourage you to jump on a free discovery call with me and let's talk about how you can start making that a reality for your life. Go to the link in the show notes. Are you struggling with the need to control everything in your life and feel as though if you let go, everything is going to fall apart at the seams. It could be that your need to control the outcome is actually causing more of what you really don't want in your life. Today on the courage cast, I'm sharing three ways for you to start creating more room for abundance in your life and business.

Each week I'll share conversations with amazing humans who've been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hey there, welcome to the Courage Cast, I am so glad that you are joining me today. My name is Andrea, I am your host. And today we're going to talk about something and honestly, I hope that this challenges you to step out of the way you are normally doing things and embrace something brand new. And so today I want to talk to you about creating more space in your life for abundance. And when we're talking about abundance, that can mean anything, it can mean better health, more income, wealth, better relationships, healthier relationships, however you define abundance. That is what I would love you to listen to this podcast through that lens. How do you create more space in your life for abundance? Now this has been coming up over and over and over again, in my life. And of course, you know, I always talk about things that are happening currently, things that I'm going through.

And usually it's not that far beyond when I'm actually recording the podcast. But this has been coming up with a client and we've been talking about it. And so it's something top of mind for me, because, you know, I struggle with wanting to control things, I struggle with wanting to have things a certain way to have an outcome that is what I anticipate that it should be. And just like everyone else, I'm in the process of also creating more space in my life. So if you are someone who struggles with control, or wants things to be a certain way, then this is an episode that I really encourage you to listen to with an open mind. Now, I want to ask you a question, because we always start with some questions. Are you currently in a place in your life where you feel like you're holding really, really, really tightly to the need of something happening by certain date? Like you have a timeframe or a time limit on something?

Maybe you've set goals in your business? Maybe it's something that you really want to achieve? Or you have a certain timeframe that you want something to manifest within? Are you currently holding on to the need for something to happen by certain time? Or are you finding yourself wanting to make an exact dollar amount, like you have it down to the dollars and cents, you know exactly when it's supposed to happen. And you have like that number on lock. Or maybe you find yourself in a relationship quandary. Maybe you are calling in a partner you're calling in someone to share your life with but you have these really, really strict qualifications or standards this person needs to meet or requirements. And you are just like, you've got it all written down. You know exactly what you want. You're like, Okay, I'm going to manifest this, I'm going to tell the universe exactly what I want. And this is what I want. No more, no less.

Now, if that is you if you find yourself in one of those three positions, and trust me when I say there are many, many, many more. You might actually be keeping yourself from calling in abundance in that area. Mm hmm. Right now but when I first started learning about manifestation, and I was doing mindset work myself, I was learning all sorts of things about like, what is manifestation? And how does it work in my life. And you know that I have had many different podcast episodes on manifestation here on the courage cast. But, you know, as I have moved, I've been moving through it in my own life, one of the things that I have been recognizing, when it comes to creating a life that I truly desire, and that I want to live, is that the more specific I am, and the more control I am trying to have over the outcome of something, the more I call in what I don't want, the very thing that I don't want, I'm actually calling in, or I'm repelling what it is that I truly do desire.

And this has happened to me in so many areas of my life, I can honestly like, I can pretty much say probably every area, it's happened to me when it comes to my financial life, my relationships, my business, you name it, because I've always been somebody who has been pretty specific in what I want, like, I know what I want, and I want what I want, if you're like that type of person, but like, ever since I was even a kid, like for my birthday, I know exactly the gift that I want. And if somebody's gonna give me something that's not going to be what it is, and I'm kind of like, wow, you know, thanks. but no thanks. I just know exactly what I want.

Like, if I want to buy a certain kind of makeup, I want that kind of makeup or face creams, I want that thing. If it's like a color or have something of clothing that I want or a pair of shoes, I only want the certain thing that I know that I want. And I feel like it's a trait in me that is very decisive. And I know exactly what it is that I like and what it is that I don't like. But in some instances, that actually is working against me. And the reason why is because we all have a limited, limited scope of what we think is possible. Even if we feel like oh, anything's possible for our lives. And, you know, I'm so open minded. And I truly, truly believe anything's possible, really, you probably don't, you probably have a cap somewhere on what you feel like is possible for you, and what is possible for your life because we all have what is called an upper limit. And so when you hit that upper limit, you think that is as far as I can go. And that is as far as I can see. And everything else has to happen, you know, within that, basically within that confines. So in order for you to truly move and transcend through that upper limit, and start calling in what it is that you truly desire, you're going to have to let go of a little bit of what you think is required for you to get there, or required for the universe to deliver, or the exact timing on things on how things are going to transpire in your life.

And I wanted to share with you three reasons why you actually may be creating more lack in your life right now. So when I say lack, again, this can be when you think about abundance, it can be it's the thing you don't want when it comes to like your health, your relationships, your finances, your business, all of those things, right? So here's top three reasons why you actually may be creating more lack in your life. Number one, your fixation is actually telling the universe that you want more of the same. So when you're fixated on something, you are fixated, generally speaking on what it is that you want. But when it's not happening, then our attention goes to what it is that we are not getting, right, the lack of it. And you end up fixating on the fact that you haven't gotten it. And the more you fixate on it. The more you think about it, the more you put your attention on it, the more you call in the lack of it. So you might be thinking, oh my gosh, like I'm totally thinking that I'm fixating on what it is that I want. But if you're really honest with yourself, think about really what you're thinking about. Are you thinking about the design and how you gonna feel when you have it? Or are you thinking about, Oh, I haven't had it yet. I wonder when it's going to come? Oh, no, like, it just hasn't happened yet it hasn't manifested. And yet the feeling is a very, very different, right between that, and the feeling of like, oh, this is gonna be amazing.

And I feel so good. It's almost like a habit already. And it's so exciting to very different places, very different emotions. And when you are in the lack of something, you are creating a frequency of vibration, which is calling in more of the same more lack. However, when you're in the frequency of abundance, and feeling what it's going to feel like when you have it, you're actually position yourself to receive it.

The second reason, your attachment to the outcome is actually not allowing for things to unfold organically, or in a way that the universe God source can surprise and delight you. So, this, my friend, is me to a tee when it comes to gifts. Okay, so I told you, I want what I want, right? And so if I don't get what I want, it's like, it's almost like I just don't enjoy it. Like it's like, Oh, right. And I've actually been thinking about this quite a bit in my own life, about how, when I am too attached to what I think the outcome should be, I'm actually not creating space for miracles, I'm not creating space for magic, I'm not creating space for these really incredible spontaneous events to happen, because I'm so attached to how things should go, that I'm not making room, I'm not creating room for there to be something that would come in and be like, Wow, this is even better than what I thought.

Because, again, back to our limited scope. When you have only your own purview, you're only seeing what you can see, you can't see beyond what you know. And so if the universe gods or desires to give you something greater, even more expansive, and you're like, oh, I can only see within this like scope, then you're actually limiting yourself to what is possible in your own mind, not what is possible when it comes to the universe. And so your attachment to that is keeping you from being open to the possibility of what God universe source desires to delight you with. And the third thing is your need for control is actually pushing away what you desire. For years, I've been a complete control freak. I like to control how things happen when things happen, or how things look in my business.

Like down to the typography down to the fonts, like little little crazy details, almost of the probably to the fact that it's like, oh my gosh, this is like being neurotic. And when I think about how many things I've probably not been able to receive into my life, because of my need to control something, it actually blows my mind. And the more I relinquish the control, the more I let go of my need to have everything a certain way all the time, I am finding that there is more beauty, there is more ebb and flow there is, you know, definitely a higher awareness to what is possible in the world, and how I can step into that. But my own need to control how things are happening is an indication that, you know, I don't trust that God, the universe, desire to give me anything good.

And so it's really been something that I've had to work on for myself to let go of my own need to control like, I'm the only one who can dictate how this is going to happen, when it's going to happen. And all of those things. And let me tell you, it's one of those things that when you start doing it is not easy. It's it's actually a little bit sobering when you think about how you have to let go of your own need to control absolutely everything in your own life. And so instead of like being fixated on, you know what you want or being attached to the outcome or really trying to control all of it. I want to encourage you to start focusing on creating more room more space, okay in your life. So that can look like creating a more time for things you enjoy. Like it could be taking walks in nature could be taking up a hobby, going to show like some something you really enjoy traveling more, creating more room for time with your family. However that looks for you people that you love, like just inviting them into that space, creating more space, more quiet, more stillness, whatever that looks like for you start focusing on creating more of that.

And the reason why that is so important is because the more space you create, it's almost like you're saying to the universe, alright, I'm open. I'm open to receiving through any way. I'm open to receiving. When I'm in, in a conversation with someone I love, I'm open to receiving when I'm out in nature, I'm open to receiving. When I'm, you know, driving somewhere, or taking a road trip, you create this expansiveness within your life, because you are focusing on creating more room to receive what it is that you want, versus being like so fixated on getting things done, and making things making shit happen. I think that's really what I wanted to say making should happen. So really, it's like this huge shift, huge paradigm shift. Now, I'm not saying that you don't work. And I'm not saying that you don't do things. And I'm not saying that you don't have goals.

I mean, all those things are awesome and are going to help you move your business forward. But to the extent where you are not allowing for things to manifest and happen in your life, it really has to have some sort of a balance. So creating room allows for you to be able to then get like the flow, and have ideas and downloads, so that you can take action that is aligned to where you really want to go and expedite those things, versus hustling it out, grinding it out, making it happen. The next thing is start envisioning yourself with your desires, and be in the emotion be in the feeling of it as though they are currently happening. This is something that I've been doing a lot when I go skating.

I love skating, I go to the rain on Fridays, and I put my music on. And because of like just be gliding around the eyes, it just feels so freeing, and there's just such such a joy that happens. So that's a really great time for me to be visioning things that I really desire in my life because I'm in the energy of what I love. I'm doing something I already love. And I'm already good at and and I'm already having this joy. And so when I am also visioning for things in my life, I'm in that energy already. And now I'm thinking about the thing that I desire, versus being in the lack energy, where it's like, oh, that hasn't happened, and why isn't it happened and I'm so discouraged and frustrated. And then you're in this like energy that goes down, down, down, down, down until finally, you're like, I'm never gonna call this in. I was will just give it up. You know, and you just get so discouraged that you completely give up anyways. And of course, what happens is you call in more of that, right? And the third thing is be okay with things transpiring out side of your comfort zone.

We all have a comfort zone, an area in which we're like, yep, things can happen in and around this. Yeah, I'm good with that. I'm okay, up until this point, and everything that's within that comfort zone that range that area, you're like, I welcome that. I love that. But anything outside of it, you're like, Nope, don't want anything to do with it.

Because when things are outside of our comfort zone, we can control everything, every single detail, we are not the person who is in charge, we are not totally aware of what can happen next, right. So in order to create that room to call in more abundance within your life, you are going to have to be okay with things happening outside of your comfort zone. So, if you find yourself currently right now within your life and your business, feeling like you're stuck and stagnant in some area and you know exactly what you want, you could tell me, like, this is exactly what I'm calling in, this is exactly what I need, this is exactly what I want, I'm super, super clear on that, I want to, I want to encourage you, that you might be holding on too tightly. And that you might want to revisit the timing, you might want to revisit the number you want, you might want to revisit the requirements, and start creating more room, more space, more breath, for God universe to co create with you something that is so magnificent, that is so wonderful, that is actually going to be even better than what you could have imagined what you could have jumped up, and so far beyond maybe even what you feel like you're capable of currently, right.

And I want to encourage you to do that this is something that I am putting in place in my own life, I am encouraging my clients to do the same thing. And I encourage you to do that. So maybe there's one area right now that you're like, okay, yeah, that's where I want to, I want to start looking at creating more room when it comes to like time or money or requirements, and really just creating that space in your life. Friend, if you are struggling with this, and you're like oh my gosh, Andrea, you are talking to me when it comes to being fixated. And you know that you really do have some subconscious beliefs that are holding you back, it could be that all you need is one shift, something that is really going to take you from where you are right now fixated on something specific on an outcome in order to release that, and start to live out of a whole new mindset, a whole new paradigm.

And I'm offering power hours, it's a one hour session, it's actually just a little bit over an hour, 75 minutes, in which we will work on identifying what is the limiting belief that you have, where is rooted, and actually release that belief, so that you can start living out of a new mindset. And then if you are really, really wanting to take it to the next level, I'll invite you to join me for a 30 day Voxer support. And we'll integrate that new belief together. This is literally transforming my clients lives. Right now. This is something new that I've started to offer. And honestly, it is a huge game changer because I'll walk you through the process. And we will see the shifts happen within 30 days in your life.

So this sounds like something you're interested in. I encourage you to go to my website, Andrea crisp.ca forward slash schedule, and the link will be in the show notes. And you can jump on a call with me ask me questions, or you can just book your session right away either one. But let's create room. Let's create space for magnificence for something so incredibly powerful and special to happen in your life. Or a friend. Thanks for hanging out with me. Love you so much. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love? Welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm Andrea Chris, mindset coach, author, and a multi passionate entrepreneur. Hey there, welcome to the Courage Cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I am thrilled that you are joining me today. Wow, I cannot believe it is literally the middle of October when I am recording this episode. It's just so funny to me how fast the year goes, I have been really been engaged in really finishing the last 90 days of this 2022 year strong. And I've been having so many lessons along the way, it's actually been sometimes a bit overwhelming, I'm not gonna lie. And and just even the thoughts of how I'm approaching my life, my health, my business, and wanting to do it in a way that just feels really, really good mind, body, and spirit. And if you haven't already joined me, for this 90 Day Quantum Leap, it is not anything you have to do other than just jump on the email list. And I will email you once a week with some encouragement and also some questions, some journal prompts for you along the way. And I'm going to leave the link in the show notes for you. If this is something that you really want help with, you really want encouragement to finish the year strong. You know, I've been thinking about what that is going to look like when we get to the last day of 2022. And we're thinking wow, like, look at all that I've accomplished.

And so often, it feels as though it has to be measured in certain outcomes. And often it's just a way of being, we don't necessarily have to do all sorts of things. It's about belief that we are becoming who we need to become. So having said that, today on the podcast, I want to talk to you about your voice. And I want to start by asking you a question. Are you connected to your voice? You may think now you may be thinking okay, Andrea, while I'm speaking. So, yes, I am connected to my voice. But are you really connected to your voice? When you are talking to people? Or when you're sharing your story? Or when you're going live on line? Or you're talking to clients? Are you second guessing yourself all the time? Are you in some sort of unbelief? Are you feeling that what you're saying is not really what you want to be saying? Are you feeling as though you're not showing up in a way that is really authentic to who you are.

If you can say, you know, you kind of hit the nail on the head on the head with that, then it's likely that you are disconnected to your voice. And if you're disconnected to your voice, then you are also disconnected to your power. And we're going to talk about that. But before we do that, I want to share a little bit of a story. So when I was two years old, was probably the first time that I ever sang publicly. And I have loved to sing as long as I can remember, but we were at a family reunion. And my mom put me on stage to perform and I think I was singing You Are My Sunshine. I think that's a song that she told me I was singing. And I got to the end of the song. And I couldn't finish the song. So I just kept singing it and Z and Z and finally she had to come up onto the stage and finish the song with me and everybody clapped and you know I just loved it and but I've been performing I've been singing for as long as I can remember.

And it's something that I loved so much and I feel felt so connected as a child. Singing for me was an outlet. It was a way of expressing myself. It was a way of creating, and I never second guessed anything about singing, and about music wasn't until I was much older, that I got in my head around, you know, am I good enough? You know, Will I win this competition? You know, as we get older, and we start to do things for other people, all of the sudden, the joy we have in what we're doing seems to dissipate slightly. And I really pursued music. For years, I became a high school music teacher, I really had a dream of becoming a professional singer songwriter, I didn't end up doing that. But I did music as a career for 20 years prior to becoming a coach. And still to this day, I am teaching private voice lessons. And I actually am doing this really cool combination now of doing voice coaching, and mindset coaching, all in one package, which is actually quite cool. But I digress. I love music. I've always loved to sing. But one of the things that has come up for me in the past few years is this disconnect that I have now with my own voice. And I'm going to share a little bit about that at the end of the podcast. But something happened to me about four years ago, that was so hurtful, that I actually stopped singing. And I lost my power.

So we're gonna get to that in just a moment. But you may be thinking to yourself, Okay, well is this episode really, for me? If I'm a coach, or if I'm an entrepreneur, and I don't sing, if it's not something that I do, I'm not a communicator, I don't have a podcast. This is absolutely for you. Because we all are using our voices every single day to communicate with our loved ones with our clients. Whether we're going live on Facebook, or Instagram, or Tiktok, or whether or not we are recording a podcast episode, writing a blog, writing content, our voice is really coming from our source of power. So whether you're speaking it, singing it, writing it, it doesn't really matter. When you are disconnected to your voice, and disconnected to your power, you are not really able to make the impact that you truly desire to make. And when you're not making that impact, you're not calling in abundance in the way that you want to, you're not magnetizing clients the way that you want to. And a lot of that can be fixed. Okay. So there's some really good things that you can start trying, that are going to help you get reconnected reacquainted with your voice and with your power. And just the other day, I was talking on stories to a friend.

And we were talking about, you know, how we are connected to our voices, and to our power. And one of the things that came up over and over again, was that when we are there's this ease, and this flow. And when we are disconnected, it feels like there's pressure, and there is a lot of striving. And so if you feel like you're always striving or you're always feeling this pressure to perform in some way, and to share what you're doing, then it's likely that you're disconnected. So the first thing I want to talk to you about is the mind body spirit connection. When it comes to our voice. This is something that I work with a lot of my students on whether they're kids or adults, it has come up over and over again. When they come to sing for me. I can immediately immediately sense whether or not they are connected into their power or not. And the way I know is how they're first of all, how they're singing their body language, what's actually happening when they're trying to, you know, sing for me and I get that it's always a little bit nerve wracking to sing in front of someone.

But that's really when it comes out is when we are trying to do something in front of other people. You can really tell whether or not there is belief there. And there have been so many times where I have been working with a student. And I asked a question like, you know, how are you doing today and you're like, Well, I wasn't doing well in school today and things were happening, or I, you know, had a problem with my friend. And all these emotions were coming up within them, they were stuffing them down, and it was being held within the body. And they came to their voice listen to sing, it came out through their voice. And so what people are receiving from you, oftentimes, is those bottled up stuck emotion that you are maybe not dealing with, because you're thinking, well, if I just push it down, or push it away, or push it to the side, is eventually going to go away.

But that lingering frustration, or annoyance, or anger, or just pressure, anxiety that you're feeling is showing up in your body, in subsequently coming out through your voice. And you're not having the kind of power you want, because you're not showing up in that way. And those stuck emotions, they could be rooted in unbelief, the need for approval or validation from someone else, the need to really show up in a certain way that doesn't feel authentic to who you are. And in every way that we are using our voice, we are actually exposing parts of ourselves to other people. And you may not see it right away.

But it can become extremely evident to those who are following you, to those who are watching your journey to your potential clients, and to even allowing your career to be successful, and thrive in every way in your life. So whether you're a coach, you're an entrepreneur, you're an artist, in some way you're performing, if you are not dealing with these emotions, and if you're not dealing with the unbelief, that comes with just life in general things that we're everyday going through, you are not going to be expressing yourself to the fullest of your capacity. And one of the ways that I work with my students is we get to the root of what they are holding on to what is that belief or that emotion that is prevalent right now within them. And you might even know immediately once I say that exactly what that emotion looks like for you and how that is playing out.

And maybe even how you're showing up and sharing your story or sharing your voice. And I can even tell the difference, even in how I'm recording podcast versus yesterday, when I recorded this podcast. So yes, this is the second time I've recorded the podcast. In fact, it's more than the second time I recorded it so many times yesterday, they got super frustrated. And then I thought no, I'm gonna wait. And I'm going to record it again today. And today, I'm recording it. And I feel like I'm in a different energy. And I feel like I've released a few things. And that is why I'm able to show up differently and share differently today. And it's not about being perfect. And it's not about you know, being exceptional and everything you do, it's allowing yourself to really be heard in a way that is true to you. And that shows who you are.

So when you are not releasing those emotions, then you are not releasing yourself to truly be connected to the source of who you are, to divine, to your higher power, to whatever it is that you believe that you are connected to. And so along with that Mind, Body Spirit connection, is really being rooted and grounded in the knowledge that who you are and who you have been created to be is someone who can express themselves and express the truest form of who they are. And that will come through in so many ways. But definitely through your Your voice. So if you're struggling right now, with your voice, and you're struggling to communicate who you are, to show up in your power, I want to encourage you to take a look at where you might be holding on to those stuck emotions, to those things that have maybe happened in the past beliefs that have really kept you hidden and small, and not sharing your truth.

Now, I mentioned earlier in the podcast, that there was a time, about four years ago that I went through a situation that I lost my voice. And I've never really talked about this publicly. But this was a situation where I really felt this is when I was singing, that I had more to give. And I was already in my 40s. And I was already feeling kind of like, you know, my time was almost up. And I had a situation where someone sidelined me, and, you know, basically said, Okay, well, we're not going to use you anymore in this capacity. And when that happened, for me, I took it personally. And I shut down. And I almost made it mean, I didn't almost make it mean, I made it mean that I was not useful anymore, that my voice was not welcomed, or needed, or powerful, or good, really, I made it me and all of those things. And I actually started to believe that I didn't have power anymore, that my voice was not necessary that I might as well just sit on the sidelines. And this not only played out in this context that I was in, but it also played out in my business. And it hasn't been until very recently, that I recognized that this hurt. This wounding that I went through was a belief that I attached to that I didn't have anything left to offer.

And there has been this subconscious belief that has been running the show for me, that says you don't have anything left to offer. And it's been playing out in my business, in my relationships, and in many other ways. And it wasn't until I started thinking about just even sharing this podcast, that it came for me. And so even in recording this episode, I don't really have notes, and I'm just kind of shooting from the hip. And I feel in some ways that I'm a little bit all over the place, to be honest with you. But I knew that there was something I needed to share. Because I feel like so often, we don't really share what is going on behind the scenes. And until you recognize and realize that the subconscious beliefs that are running the show for you are actually showing up, you won't make a change, you won't actually get help to really remove those blocks. And to get a more empowering thought. And for me, just even the acknowledgement that I have been running in this belief is enough to shift it for me that awareness to know that I am no longer going to live out of a not enough belief. And what was said to me, probably wasn't said out of malice. But how I took it was the real problem, right? And often, that's how it goes. Whether it's an intended hurt or not, is we take something and we make it mean something and we make a belief around it and a story around it.

And so, I am releasing that belief. I am releasing that story from my own life so that I can free up my voice and free up my power. Because I am enough and you are also enough. And there's power in your story in your voice and what you have to share with the world. And when you reconnect with your voice, you will also reconnect with your power. Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

Your intuition is one of the biggest gifts and capabilities that you have to navigate your life and business. And if you're not already using it to its fullest potential, you will not have access to all the gifts that God in the universe has desired to give to you.

Today on the podcast, I want to share with you 10 reasons why I believe it is so important to grow your intuition. Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love?

Welcome to the courage cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, mindset coach, author and a multi passionate entrepreneur. For years, I was afraid to allow myself to shine that was until I discovered that I could step into my own power, shift my mindset and take ownership of my own destiny. Now I coach women across the globe who are ready to own their life and make a massive impact. Each week I'll share conversations with amazing humans who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hello, friend. Welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm glad that you're joining me today. We're talking about intuition. And I'm really excited about talking about this topic today. I feel very passionate about it. And it was so funny, because yesterday, I recorded the episode. And it's like 20 or so minutes long. But at the end, I just felt like something was off. My intuition kicked in. I was like, Nope, this is not what you're supposed to release. And this morning when I came down to rerecord it, I thought, well, maybe I'll listen through and pick, you know, pick some pieces out of it or whatever. But no, I deleted the whole thing. And I'm back, I have my notes, but I'm not even sure I'm going to use them.

So when it comes to intuition, how are you using your intuition? Or better question? Are you using your intuition? Every single one of us has intuitive capacity, we all have an inner knowing and an inner sense that guides us to what is the best direction for us to go, the best decision for us to make the best possible solution for an outcome. But so often, we defer our intuition, our inner knowing our God voice to the voice of someone else, to what is happening out in the world to what the mass is doing. And then we wonder why we're frustrated, why we're overwhelmed, why we feel burnt out. And why we feel as though we cannot make clear decisions on our own. There have been so many times in my life, when I had an intuitive hit about something. And then someone in my life and authority figure was actually telling me to do the exact opposite thing. And there were times that I listened. And I actually did what they were saying and didn't feel right at all. And there were times when I kind of went against that authoritative voice. And I did things myself, cause a little bit of conflict. But in the end, I felt as though that was the right thing for me. And if you're in the online space, you are likely being bombarded with so many voices, with coaches telling you to do certain things with mentors promising you that they're going to lead you in this direction or that direction. And you're gonna get this or you're gonna get that and how do we possibly make decisions when we are being bombarded with people's opinions, with voices with all sorts of things, right? So imagine what would happen if you just slowed down. And you really started to get in touch with what your intuition is telling you with what your god voice is speaking to you.

Not that long ago, I had to make a decision about whether or not I was going to continue in a mastermind that I'm a part of, and I wanted to share the story with you because I feel like it really shows how to activate your intuition. And this is a credible mastermind it is one that I highly highly endorse. And I absolutely love the community that's in it. I love the coach that runs it But when I signed up at the beginning, which was six months ago, I had an intuitive hit that it was only for six months. But it was such a phenomenal experience that I was thinking to myself, Well, this must be going for longer, I'm probably going to be led to continue in this mastermind longer than six months. And As the time approached, for me to make that decision, I still did not have a clear yes, that I was supposed to stay in, even though I wanted it to be a yes. I talked to different people in my life, different advisors. And they just really told me to listen to what my own intuition was telling me. I was like, Well, how was that helpful? You're not even helping me with this. But that is exactly what we're talking about today is really listening to that inner guidance, that inner voice that tells you when something is for you, or is not for you, even if it is amazing.

So what ended up happening was, it came about two weeks out from when I was supposed to make the decision. And I felt compelled one particular morning to text my coach and say, I would no longer be part of the mastermind at the at the end renewal date. And honestly, I was like, Oh, I just I don't really want to do this. I have so much FOMO. But I just knew that that was the right decision for me to make. And so I sent her the message. Of course, everything was fine. I felt sad about it. But at the end of the day, I was like, No, this is the right thing to do. And there are often times when we don't have a clear reason, or logic for the decisions we make. And that can feel like oh, well, that isn't the right thing that because there should be some sort of logic or reason behind this. But following your intuition is really stepping into the unknown. It's being in a place that doesn't feel comfortable all the time. Because what we're doing is we're tapping into something other than just our logic and reasoning behind life. And that will only get us so far, because we can make great decisions with doing pros and cons.

But there's often times that we really do need to trust and tap into that intuition and into that guidance. And you might think, well, I don't even know how to do that I don't even know how to tap into my intuition and guidance, well, I have a few things I do want to share with you today, that I think will be helpful for you, so that you can utilize your intuition to a higher degree. For me, it really, really looks like guarding my energy, because I am not only intuitive, I'm also empathic. And there is a difference between being intuitive and empathic. And when you are intuitive, you're listening to your own voice when you're empathic you can take on the energy of other people. And so for me, I've had to really, really like ascertain, Is this me? Or is it somebody else? Is this my voice? Or is it someone else's voice? Is this my emotion? Or is it someone else's emotion.

And so sometimes, for me when I'm making these decisions, I have to be very, very clear on what it is that I want on what it is that I desire. And really, really taking a step back and getting a loan, so that I am super clear on what my intuition is telling me or guiding me. And your intuition can come in so many different forms, it can come when you're in prayer or meditation, it can come when you're walking in nature, it can come when you're having a conversation with a peer. It can come when you're writing in your journal or even when you're reading a book, all of these intuitive downloads are often when something is happening, or when you've taken time to be alone and just listen. But it's really about recognizing what it is that is happening when you get your intuitive hit when you have that inner knowing.

For me, it is this sense that I know that I know that I know. Like you cannot tell me otherwise. And even if there's a ton of logic or reasons to back up the polar opposite of what I might be doing. It's just like Like, no, I just know. And that's that. And so here are some of the ways in which I have been working this out in my own life. So I have 1010 things that really are like my guidelines, my guiding posts for really staying in my own lane, and allowing myself to really listen to my intuition.

So number one is I have boundaries, and I create these boundaries around my energy. So even though I love being with people, and I'm definitely a people person, and I can be with someone for an extended period of time, I also know that it's wise for me to limit my time with people. And then if I want to extend it, I can do that. Because I can really ascertain at a certain point, when I'm with somebody whether or not I need to then get alone, or whether or not, I can stay with that person and be in their energy. And it honestly has nothing to do with other person. A lot of times, it's just about what I'm doing, and how I am receiving the energy at the time.

The second thing is really being in some sort of routine and having rituals, this can look different for every person. But I really truly believe that we can all have some sort of routine or ritual, even if it is really, really simple. And every morning, and every night, I have a morning routine and an evening routine. And those are both fluid. So I don't do exactly the same thing. And ever in the same order every day. Sometimes I switch things out, sometimes I move things around, I like to have a little bit of flexibility. And I like to have a little bit of change. So for me, the important part of it is creating that time and space for myself to prepare for the day, and unwind from the day. So what happens within that routine, and in with those rituals is really how do I feel that day? What do I need listening to my intuition? Do I need rest? Do I need to meditate? Do I need to move? What is it that I need to do and really being aware so that you're actually taking steps towards what it is that you personally need. So I could tell you what my routine is, but I don't know that would be super helpful for you.

The next one is naps. I am a pro Napper I love to take a nap every single day, I generally try and keep them pretty short because it is a reset. For me, it is a time where I can reset my battery, where I can literally recharge for the rest of the day. And that also gives me time alone.

The next one is movement. And movement can look like yoga, cardio dance, it can look like going kayaking, walking, it really doesn't matter as long as we're moving our bodies and we're allowing the energy to flow within us and through us. That is the major part of this. Because when we are in movement and in motion, we are allowing our intuition to be activated and to really share with us what we need. And oftentimes we think, Well, I just need to sit still and meditate. Well, there are times when we're gonna get intuition and download when we're sitting still and meditating. But quite often, you actually might get an intuitive hit when you're on the kayak, or when you're doing your favorite activity. So don't underestimate what your thing is like, if you're a runner and you love to run, you're probably going to activate your intuition on run.

The next one, which is my favorite is music. So there are times when I like to be very still and I like silence and I just listen. And I'll get an intuitive hit really, really quickly. There are other times though, when I will play music, whether it's me playing myself, or it is listening to a song. And I can have literally so much come through at that time. It's almost like it's just like a channel that's just been open and like receiving so much through that moment. Music for me that frequency when I'm attuned to that frequency is like so, so much comes through.

And of course there's journaling. So processing your thoughts through writing them out, reading them back. Oftentimes, there are people who like to draw and that creates an opening receptivity to intuition as well. So if like art is your thing journaling, writing, however it looks can be on a computer can be an actual journal can be on a writing pad, whatever it is for you allow that to come through through that way.

The next one, which I can honestly tell you is not one that I'm really great at, but it is eating, well, eating healthy eating for your body, really being aware of what your body needs in order to function optimally. When I'm at the highest vibe. I'm definitely eating well, when I feeling low energy, low vibe, it's probably because I've been eating too many things that are not great for my my particular body. And I know right away, I can start feeling used to I would not know right away, but now I can eat something and be like, Yep, I shouldn't eat that. And I'd like I shouldn't eat it. But it is, well, do I want to feel this way or do I want to feel better. So I've decided to be more intuitive when it comes to what my body wants to eat.

The next one is alone time, I need more alone time than I do with people. Now I live with my parents and six months of the year they are traveling and in Florida will actually probably more than six months. Because even when they're back in Canada half the time they're not here. So there's a lot of time when I'm alone. And then there's a lot of time of the year where I'm with them. And I love spending time with them. But even when they go out for the day, it's like something in me just feels this release, because it's my alone time and it is so nice. So that is often when I'm going to get intuition, my intuition is going to come through for me is when I have a long time, animals, they're very calming, met, whether it's like your cat, or your dog or your bird or pet snake or whatever it is not me for a pet snake, I'll stick with a dog, but I find them very calming, very helpful, I learned a lot of lessons from my dog, I'm not gonna lie, because she teaches me so much about myself. And she's a mirror for me, she mirrors back what it is that I need to see about myself.

And the last one is gratitude. When we are in gratitude for things, and we're really in a space of just being thankful and thoughtful about what is happening in our lives. So much more comes to us because we're in a space where we're actually raising the vibration. And we're raising the energy to really receive that intuition and that God voice speaking to us. So every single day, I want to encourage you to really carve out something in your life that allows that intuition to come a little clearer for you think of it almost like a radio, if you are tuned to the right signal, then you're gonna have the right radio station come through. But if you drive out of that signal range, then it's going to become a little fuzzier and it's going to be harder to hear. So it's really important that you're tuned into the right frequency.

And when you're applying any of those 10 things, I'm sure there's definitely more that you could do. or less, depending on on how you are wired, then I encourage you to find out what those specific things are for you, so that you can really listen to your intuition, be guided to make the right decisions, and really know for yourself exactly what is the next step for you to wrap up the story that I shared at the beginning of the podcast about this mastermind, that a man?

Well, I have two weeks left of the mastermind, and I still am not entirely sure why I'm supposed to be at the end of my time, other than I know that where I'm going is going to require something different. And so I really that's all I know, is just that and so I have to really be in a space to trust that I'm I'm being led in the right direction, and that I can trust myself implicitly and and trust my intuition that is guiding me that this is the right decision for me. And so it's not resolved yet I don't have an answer for you for why it is that I am supposed to be leaving this mastermind, but I really truly know that this is the right step for me and trusting myself along the way.

So I love To hear, what are some of the things that you do to increase your intuitive capacity in your own life? Or maybe where do you need to grow? I would love to know. So, screenshot this episode, write your takeaway and post it and make sure to tag me at Andrea crisp coach.

And I would love to hear what takeaway you have and how you are growing your intuition. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

Are you ready to move to the next level of your life and business, you will always be faced with the exact challenge you need to create next level expansion in your life. And it's up to you to decide whether or not you will rise to meet the challenge or shrink back in fear. Today on the podcast, I'm sharing the exact steps I take to move forward to the next level in my life.

Each week I'll share conversations with amazing humans who've been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hello, friends, welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm so glad that you are joining me today. Honestly, this podcast today is totally going to inspire you to take your business and your life to the next level. So get a pen and paper ready because we're going deep.

I have absolutely been loving doing this 90 Day quantum leap with you taking the last quarter 2022 and being super intentional about moving forward and finishing the year strong. But in case you haven't already join me, this is literally a container that will encourage you inspire and motivate you to finish strong on your terms. I'm sending out a weekly email on Sundays. And it really is that simple. Oftentimes, we're looking for a whole lot more to encourage and motivate us. But sometimes it's just knowing that there are other people doing the same thing that allow for you to move forward and to actually crush your goals to expand in every single way. And so the reason why this kind of came up for me specifically was I was looking back at the entire year 2022. And at the beginning of every year, I pick a word. And that word for me is what I want the year to encapsulate and how I want to focus and so when I chose my word for 2022, it was expansion, you know, to say that this year has been expansive is an understatement because it has been expansive every single way in my life.

So whether it be personal growth, knowledge, my beliefs, my finances, you name it, I'm I'm expanding. And it's been sometimes a little bit challenging and uncomfortable. But it has been awesome. And I've even expanded when it comes to surrounding myself with people who are also doing work, which was one of the things I was most intentional about. But when September hit, I got sick. And if you have listened to the podcast, any previous episodes, you'll remember me telling you that I got COVID at the beginning of September, and literally like everything that I had planned for September just basically went out the window. And it was that that point that I kind of took, you know, a step back and said, you know, in order for me to actually finish strong, I really need to be intentional about the last 90 days and almost take everything I've learned in the first three quarters of the year and accelerate a quantum leap the success. So that is exactly what I want to talk to you about today, the steps that you're going to have to take in your personal life, in your business life in order for you to get to the next level. And it's going to come out of my own playbook, I'm going to share with you what I've done in my own life to allow for expansion. And hopefully this will help you to create steps in your own life. So you can move to the next level.

And if you're listening to this, and you're like oh my gosh, Andrea, I do not need any more expansion, then it's entirely likely you are the exact person who does need it and who needs to listen to this. Because it's really too easy to become stagnant and complacent with our growth and be like yeah, I've grown enough. I've gotten enough knowledge. You know, I'm done. I'm good. But in order to really truly manifest your desires, you have to allow for more growth and more expansion. And some of the most influential people in my life mentors that I both know and I kind of follow from Far, they're always in a place where they are allowing for expansion in their lives. Because they see how important it is for the health of their personal lives or business, their vision. And in order for them to keep moving forward, they have to constantly be expanding. So it's not like you just do you have expansion, and then you stop. Like, that's not how this works. You continually expand to upgrade and get to the next level. And that's how people keep moving forward. And this was driven home by Lindsey Schwartz, cuz she was in one of the masterminds I was in she was a guest speaker in sales and social with Gillian Murphy. And she said, The reason you're not where you want to be is because you're not ready for it. And I was literally stopped dead in my tracks. Because I so resonated with that statement. The reason you are not where you want to be, is because you are not ready for it. And I was like, Oh, my gosh, I'm not ready for it. What do I need to do to get ready for it? What is in my way? What stopping me? I'm like, Okay, I'm stopping me. So I want you to ask yourself a couple of questions. This is going to, you know, lay the groundwork here to see where you're at. Are you ready to go to the next level? Are you ready to upgrade? Are you ready for the expansion? So question number one is, do you have the capacity right now, to serve at a higher level? So think about where you're at? In your business right now think about where you're at when it comes to working with clients? What is your capacity? Currently? And do you have a capacity to serve at a higher level? So if you had clients come to you with different issues with higher level issues, if you had clients who required a bit more of you? Do you have what it takes? Have you done the expansive work in your own life to hold space for that?

When I'm working with clients, I see this all of the time, because, generally speaking, they're successful. And when they're coming to me, there are often areas of their life that they're telling me, you know, this is not exactly where I want it to be. And the moment we address a limiting belief in that particular area, or something that seems to be stopping them, all of the sudden, it translates into also into their business. And it opens up something because it's always connected to something else. For example, a relationship issue is generally speaking, not just about your relationships, a financial or a lack limitation, is generally speaking, not just about your finances, all of these things are inter woven together. And so when it's popping up in one area, it's generally going to be seen in multiple areas. And until you are at the point where you can say, I wonder what this limitation or this belief truly is about, and get to the bottom of it, it's going to cycle through almost every area of your life until it gets your attention. And until you do the work to expand and move through it. So when when you're thinking about having capacity to serve at a higher level, serving at a higher level is going to require you to be at the level to serve the other person, and to help them move forward. And I have seen this time and time and time again, I wonder often like why am I going through this? Like why is this coming up in my life? And within like, I don't know, a week, two weeks, three weeks, I'll have a client come through that had literally the same issue. And I'm like, Oh, now I understand.

This is why I had to expand in my own life and move through so that I could hold space for them and serve at a higher level. So the next question is, are you emotionally, physically and spiritually ready to hold space for what is coming? Now the reason why I said all three, emotionally, physically and spiritually, is because if you are weaker in one of the three areas, it's important to focus on one of those areas. Maybe you're like excelling it too. But the third one's like I don't No, I'm not really great at that. Make, for example, emotionally right now great, spiritually great physically, not so great. And for you, it may be completely different, maybe physically, you're doing really well, maybe spiritually, you're even doing really well. But emotionally, you're not doing well. So when you're thinking about, are you at a place in your life emotionally, where you are doing the work to be able to move emotions through where you're at, it's at a place in your own life, where you're feeling where you have the capacity to help other people, and not be just completely overwhelmed by it. Are you spiritually in a place where you are co creating with higher power with source with divine? Are you physically in a place where you are feeling in your body, like you can hold space for other people, for example, when I got sick back in September, it was a huge, huge motivator for me to say, Andrea, you're not in a physical space right now, to be able to move to the next level. And that has been kind of like a red flag for me. Like, okay, this is the exact thing you need to focus on.

And then third question is, when you're met with challenges, do you expand to meet them? Or do you shrink back? Now this is going to come up in your life at every turn, right, because you're always going to be met with a challenge or something that is going to be presented to you to move towards? For me, this comes in various forms, like it can come in making a decision in my life in my business. I can even be in times where I feel like, I have to move away from something that's really even good for me, because it's not serving me at the next level that I'm going to be at. And then I have to actually move through the challenge of letting it go and releasing that thing. And there's always going to be something that is coming up in your life that causes you to grow and to expand. So are you shrinking back? And be like, Oh, I don't know? Or are you rising to the challenge to meet them.

So here's the thing, here's how I personally, am allowing for expansion in my own life. And I have three steps that I think are going to be helpful for you to be able to take a look at where you're at, to see how can I really get to the next level in my own life. So step number one is really want to get clear on what that next level looks like. Okay, because it's like playing a video game, right? I'm not a video game player. So it's not like something that I know a whole lot about. But I do know people who play them when they're getting to like the next level. It's all about learning, like the pitfalls and all about learning, you know what they're going to need in order to be able to be successful in that next level of the game. And really, when you're getting clear on what you want your next level to look like you really want to know, okay, well, well, what is required of me in the next level? Am I going to be serving higher level clients? Am I going to be in a better leadership position? Am I going to be required to speak at more events? Am I going to be required to, you know, understand how to communicate my messaging more clearly? What is it going to be for you? In that next level? Do you need to have all of those things? Maybe it's growth in one area? Or maybe it's growth in multiple areas? So take a look at who is already there? Doing the same thing, doing the thing that you are wanting to be doing yourself? What is that level look like for them? What is required for them at that level?

So for example, like one of my mentors from afar, and you know, I feel fortunate to have been mentored by her personally within fast foundations is Laurie harder. And when I listen to her podcast, or I am watching what she's posting on social media, I'm taking a look at like, What is she doing? What are some of the challenges she's rising to meet? What are some of the levels that she's at, because if that's the level, I want to go to that I need to be aware of what that level looks like, what is going to be required of me so that I can be clear on how I need to get there. So take a look at who's already in that space, what they have done to get there. And if you have an opportunity to engage with them and ask questions, get in their space in their orbit, find out, ask questions about how they were able to move through certain things so that you can have an understanding of what it's going to be. What is going to be required of you to get to that next level. Step number two is ask yourself what your expansion requires. Okay? So, when we're thinking about expansion, I mentioned that there's, you know, many, many areas, and oftentimes they're, they're tied to each other. But does it look like therapy? Or does it look like more like subconscious reprogramming or moving emotions through your body?

Does it does it look like, you know, working with someone who is a naturopath or a healer of some modality to really move you physically, emotionally, spiritually through where you're at? Are you needing a coach or you need needing someone to help you be forward focused, and really take you to that next level, and help you vision forward? Now, we all know in a coaching industry, there are so many different types of coaches, right? So depends on where you're looking to grow, you might need that particular expertise. For me, when I wanted to communicate my message more clearly, I was looking for a storytelling coach, when I needed some healing from past spiritual wounds, it was through a therapist who focused that was her expertise. When it was someone who I wanted to help with mindset, I looked for a mindset coach. So it just really depends on where you're looking for that expansion within your life, and find out what it's going to take for you to actually get there. And what it's going to require of you. Seven, number three is invest in your expansion invest in your growth. So that's going to mean that you have to take that financial leap forward to invest time, money, resources, to really find someone who's going to help you move forward. Here's the thing about expansion.

There is a lot of work you can do on your own, when it comes to expansion. I am, you know, a huge proponent, if you know what you're doing, have someone who is, you know, doing the inner work, who and I'm highly motivated. So I do a lot of it myself. But I'm also surrounded by people who are also doing the work or who are ahead of me that I can ask questions, who I can be in their programs, who I can hire for one on one. So I'm always looking for people who are able to help me in my own growth, and I am consistently investing in it in every single way, time, resources and money. And here's something that you want to look for, make sure that they've done the work themselves. And they're not just, you know, someone who got a certification somewhere and then is now doing it. There are a lot of people coming through as coaches. And I'm not, I don't want to judge anyone when it comes to this. But if you really need, especially when it comes to mindset or subconscious reprogramming.

If you want to have a shift in your life and a transformation, you truly want to work with someone who has done that, who has had that transformation, who knows what it takes to do it, not just someone who knows about it, because there is a huge difference. And so the same applies for other expertise, especially as you're moving forward. And you're going to those next levels, it's so important that the person you're working with has done the work themselves. So make sure that you are setting aside time for that expansion, and growth.

So those are the exact steps that I personally take. When I'm moving to a new level in my life. And in my business, I get clear on what I want the level to be, what it looks like, who's there, finding out how I can be mentored or how I can get in their orbit to find out what's going to be required of me. Number two, I asked myself, What is this expansion going to require of me personally, and what do I need to do? Do I need to you know, do therapy coaching, what is it going to take for me to expand? And three, I find a way to invest in my growth in some way. Now I have to say over over the past few years, especially you know in this expansion journey for me. I have been so particular about being in the right programs, the right with the right coaches. so that I can expand. And when you are in a coaching relationship with somebody who there is like absolute synergy, you can create magic and something can happen for you so quickly.

So I just really encourage you to do your due diligence and really be mindful about choosing what it is that you need.
