Hello, welcome to the courage cast, I am so glad that you're here today. Before I jump into the podcast episode, today, I just want to chat with you a little bit about the mindset mentor circle, and I want to invite you to join me every Wednesday 12pm Eastern Standard Time for a connection call. Now this is a call that is free. And it really serves dual purpose. It's for deep connection, actual genuine connection, which a lot of the times we don't get that online. And also to really get the support, you need to move your life and business forward. There are so many times when we get on these networking calls that they're really great. But we talked for like 30 seconds, we don't really you know, connect on a soul to soul level. And this is really about creating that community and synergy to help you move forward in a way that will propel you and give you momentum to keep going. So I'm gonna put the link in the show notes. And I want to encourage you to join us it is free. And it's every Wednesday at 12pm. Eastern Standard Time.

Okay, friends. So I am excited to talk to you today about the difference between getting a quick win when it comes to coaching and playing the long game. And this is really about what it looks like for you when you're getting coached and mentored. However, you can flip it around and utilize it for your own clients as well. So I love coaching in all its forms, I have been a mentor, I have been a coach, I have been a counselor, I have been all of the things over the past 20 years. And I've had some incredible people in my life mentor and coach me, which is why I am where I am today. And every one of those people were amazing humans. But I often get asked the difference between what is short term coaching? And what is long term coaching? What are the benefits? How do I decide what I need? And what would be most beneficial for me. And here's the thing, friend, in every stage of life that we're in, and especially in business, there are times when we need to be able to discern what we need at that time. And there have been moments when I knew that I just needed a quick when I needed to jump on a call with somebody and get an answer for something that was really bothering me or I couldn't move something forward and I needed help to be able to do that. And then there were times where I needed to go a little bit deeper when it came to my own personal life when it came to my transformation, when it came to really, really creating something solid in my life.

That was when long term coaching was really beneficial for me. So you're in the coaching industry, you're an entrepreneur, you're someone who is in this space. So you know that there's all types of different coaches mindset sales, storytelling, business, financial health, I mean, it runs the gamut. Everyone has some sort of expertise and really offer something amazing within the space and I've worked with many different types of coaches. I've also worked with different healers, Reiki healers, people who do hypnosis, EFT, energy, intuition, all of those things. So, with so many things out there, how do you know what is the right coach for you? And just just not that long ago, actually, I jumped on a strategy call with someone who was considering working with me long term. And, you know, I went through what I do and how I help people get transformation and get results within their life. And we decided that, you know, I would circle back with her in a couple of weeks. And when I did, she let me know that she had decided to work with a different coach. And normally, you know, in in circumstances like that, you know, it can feel like, oh, no, I lost a client. But for me, what it really showed me was that I'm staying in my own lane, and I'm offering exactly what I need to be offering, and there's someone else that really fit her need. And she was able to find that and discern that for herself and move forward. And that is exactly what we need to be doing.

So I wanted to share a little bit of my own coaching journey and how I have been able to find the people in my own life that I need as coaches as mentors, and how that has helped me. And, and then I'll talk a little bit about, you know, how I work with my own clients as well. So way back in the beginning of 2010 2011, is really when I was introduced to the coaching industry. And it was a time in my life where I was pastoring. And I remember speaking to my lead pastor and feeling like I just, I don't know, I was like a fish out of water, there was something more that I needed. And I was expressing that to him. And he suggested that I look into life coaching. And I was like, What in the world is life coaching? And I was like, did they help you with her life? Like, what is it? What are these people do? And so here's the thing is, I really was in a transitional space in my life, I lacked purpose. I lacked intentionality, I was bored of what I was doing. I felt as though if I stayed where I was, I was basically going to walk out of there 30 years from then, never really having accomplished what I felt was inside of me. Because there was a lot of dreams or a lot of things that I wanted to actually see happen in my world, and in my life, and where I was, wasn't allowing for that. And so I was just kind of like going in doing the work. And although I felt like I was making a big difference, I wasn't really truly acting on my own dreams. And I wasn't even letting them to come to life. I wasn't even allowing them to become something more than just a little thought and a little, you know, dream for what could be.

So I was introduced to a lady named Kathy, and she was a life purpose coach. And so we started working together. And soon after we started working, I was absolutely in love with the coaching industry. She was so good at holding space for me in that transitional time in my life. And we went over so many things that not only helped guide me to where I am today and really helped me with the vision and purpose of what it is that I'm doing now. But it has seen me through so much of my transformation. And during the time that I was working with Kathy, it was a long term commitment. Because there were many things that I needed to go through in order to get to the space that I am. And once I was doing that coaching, I loved it so much that I decided I wanted to become a coach. So then I started doing training with her as well. So of course that kept me in the space a bit longer. And I was able to really get what I needed in a long term commitment with Kathy, because she was guiding me through the process. When I really had no idea what I was doing, or how to get there. She was somebody who did, and I recognized it right away. I connected with her. And I trusted her to move me forward.

One of the second coaches that I worked with, his name was Luke, and he was also amazing. And what Luke did for me was a bit different. There were times when he coached me in quick wins. They were like 15-20 Minute Calls, that I would be able to talk to him and during one of those calls was actually when I made the decision to write a book and he literally coached me through my perceived limitations within a 20 minute call. No joke. I went from not knowing that I could even write a Look to being so empowered to write a book that I made that decision and it was literally locked and loaded within me within a 20 minute call. And that was the difference between, you know, having a long term approach where she was guiding me through a transformation, versus really being able to shift my mindset quickly, within a very short time. So both of those are amazing, right? But how do you decide, you know, what is for you? Now both of these coaches were just a little bit different Kathy specialized in life purpose coaching, Lodz was a leadership coach. So it was a little bit different in what it was that I needed, and how I needed to show up for myself. But once I actually started my business, I wrote my book, I self published it, I started getting going, I recognized as a, you know, a new coach in the industry, that I still had a lot to learn, and that I had a lot of limiting beliefs that were popping up, as most entrepreneurs find when they are starting out. That's a lot of what happens like it's so much about the personal development within the first few years.

And that was really kind of what was coming up for me over and over again, which is when I met Kate, and Kate became my next coach. And Kate helped me not only in my business in really like determining where I wanted to focus and how I wanted to grow my business. But she also helped me with the mindset. So I jumped in her, I jumped in her mastermind, and worked with her for six months. And I also worked with her on a one on one basis as well. And during that time, I really felt as though I got really clear on what it was that I needed. But in that in that timeframe, I was surrounded by other women within the mastermind. And I was getting the one on one coaching, which is really what I needed. Now, the amazing thing out of this was, I was able to move forward. And some of the people within that mastermind ended up becoming my clients later on, which is the power of a community. So that long term coaching was really, really good for me. But it only brought me to a certain level. And so that is when I joined fast foundations with Chris and Laurie harder. And at that point, oh my gosh, this is like when I basically took a quantum leap in my business things took off because I was surrounded by entrepreneurs and people who are playing at a much higher level than I was. And in those months that I was part of fast foundations.

I literally saw so much growth in my life. That's when I got NLP certified. That is when I really started seeing my own mindset shift. Like really, really quickly. I was working with my coach Kyle who was foundational in that process. And then I started working with my next coach, who was Jillian Murphy. And Jillian, after sales and social became my one on one coach, because she is an expert in sales. And I was at a place in my life where I knew it was all about learning how to sell my offers, and sell what it is that I do to help other people and transform their lives. So that's when I started working with her. And I went into that situation with Jillian at times needing quick wins, and at other times needing community and support. And so I had to discern whether or not it was a time where I just wanted to jump on a call with her quickly and get a quick win, or whether I was going to jump in her mastermind and actually be in a supportive community.

Now I don't want to forget, another coach that I work with. His name is Alex and I've talked about him a lot here on the podcasts. He's been a guest several times. And Alex really was instrumental in helping me craft my messaging and my story. And we worked together for three sessions. And in that time, I was able to learn the process of how to share my story, how to write it, how to you know, articulate it, communicate it, and it was so beneficial, but I didn't have to work with Alex long term. It was more of a short term program for for me in order for me to grow.

The next coach that I work with is my friend Vanessa and Vanessa is a money mindset coach. And Vanessa was incredible helping me uncover the limitations I have had around money, and how that was showing up in my business and how that was showing up in my personal life and how that was keeping me from really making my business grow and expand. And over the course of a year with Vanessa, as I worked with her in both within a VIP day, and also within a coaching container that I was in with her, I grew so much. And here's the thing, friend, I think so often we think, Oh, okay, well, I need a coach that's gonna, like, be with me forever in a day. And there are many coaches, that that's what they talk about, they're like, you know, stay with me, you know, one year, two years, three years. But for me, often I need a change, I need to, you know, move forward and to expand more. And I don't need forever with a person, it doesn't mean I'm not going to be in relationship with that person. But it just means that I can learn from them what I need in that time, and then I can move forward.

For you, it may look like you need to actually be in long term relationship with them to really see yourself grow. And that's when you have to kind of make the decision between whether or not you want to be in a short term coaching container with them, or a long term coaching container with them. When it's a quick wins situation. It's really about fast action. It's really about implementation, it's really about, you know, taking what you're learning and moving on it quickly. When it's long term, it's more about how do you integrate what you're learning the transformation you're having into your life into your business in some way. And then, of course, you know, there are masterminds, which provide community which, which provide a way to network, which provide a way to uplevel in a whole new capacity.

One of the things that I have done is I've offered group coaching, I've offered masterminds one on one, both short term and long term. And now I'm offering VIP days, and that is virtual and also in person. And honestly, it really depends on what you need. So I'm going to walk you through even what it is that I offer and how it's beneficial for different people. So for people who are really looking for fast action for something to Quantum Leap them, to really get them exactly where they want to go quickly.

That's when I say a VIP experience is exactly what they need. Because we take a day, we set aside a day. And we actually walk through whatever transformation they need in their life and business in that moment. And then we take 30 days from there, to integrate that into their lives. But that first day really is designed to get you into motion, to get you into momentum and to create that quick win in your life. That's when people see that they are able to show up in a whole new way their business takes off, they're making more money, they're signing more clients, because it is something that really is quick. Now the difference between a VIP experience, and perhaps saying a three month or a six month coaching commitment is really when there are mindsets that you want to shift.

There are things in your life and transformation that you know you need in order to build the foundation of your life and your business. And with a three month or a six month coaching container. That is when we're actually able to see transformation happen over a longer period of time, and build a solid foundation for who you're becoming your future self. And really substantiating who you are in your business. And here's the thing, friends, I think some people think, well, if I just get a quick win, and you know, boom, I can move forward. But the benefits of long term coaching are that you are growing, and you are building a super solid foundation. And my hope is that you are going to outgrow me, you won't need me anymore. And then you'll be able to come back if something in your life has shifted and changed and you need to go to the next level. And it's not like I want to keep you forever as a client in the sense of like, keep you you know, paying me forever.

I want you to have the winds and make the progress you need to make in your life so that you can move forward. And then of course if things happen You can always come back. So that's a difference between like getting a short term win within a VIP experience and having a long term relationship, which is three to six months. Now, I also offer what I call a Power Hour. And the Power Hour is really for people who've worked with me before, who know exactly how we work and can get a quick win fast.

Or maybe you're somebody who's never worked with me before. And you just kind of like want to dip your toes, and you're like, I do need a quick win, I'm not sure I can invest completely right now. So I want to invest right now in a Power Hour, get a result, and then see how I can start moving forward. So you can be on either side of that coin, either somebody who has worked with me before, or someone who really wants to see a shift in their life without making a huge investment right away. So I want to encourage you that there are all types of coaching, and mentorship out there. I've had amazing experiences with all of my coaches. I mean, there have been times where I have felt a bit let down different ways. But a lot of that had to do with the place I was at in my own life, and what I needed. And so I had to sort through that and realize that your coach and mentor, their guide, they're helping you get to where you need to go. And there's always going to be growth along your journey, and times where you need a quick win. And times where you need strategy to play the long game, and a transformation that will help you to really anchor yourself and who you're becoming, to really make an impact in the lives of the people that you're serving, and that you're doing life with. And as we close today, I just want to give you one takeaway and ask you a question. What type of support do you need right now for this season.

I have talked a lot about the last 90 days and quantum leaping your success as you're moving into 2023. But if you don't know you need, then it's going to be really, really hard to get clear on how to move forward. So I encourage you just to jump on a discovery call with me. And we can talk about what are your options and how can you start moving forward. And if it feels aligned for you to continue working with me, then great, we can do that as well. So you can find that link in the show notes or go to my website, Andrea crisp.ca forward slash schedule and you can book a free strategy call. And you can book a free discovery call with me, friend, love hanging out with you.

I hope this is helpful. Hope you can get a quick win today. And also know that when you need that long term coaching and mentorship that it's also available for you as well.
