159 | You're Too Good Not To Ask For Help

WITH ANDREA CRISP

You don’t need help because you suck. You need help because you want to reach your potential and then some. And deep down you know that your potential has room to expand.
— Andrea Crisp

About This Episode:

Do you ever feel like you're too good at what you do to enlist the help of others?

In this episode, we're talking about why going it alone never works, and being independent is way overrated. I'll be sharing what I've personally learned about asking for help and why I almost didn't ask when I needed it the most.

You've got so much to offer the world, and playing small will not fulfill your purpose. It will only make you feel less than and unworthy of what you have to give -- which is your gift, your services, and your message. Truth be told -- You can be good, but you can also be GREAT!

158 | Why We Silence Women Who Tell The Truth

WITH TIFFANY BLUHM

We don’t get to dominate anyone else’s time, physical space or body without their consent.
— Tiffany Bluhm

About This Episode:

When we think of speaking up on behalf of women so often there is a fear associated to how it might impact our lives.

Did you know that 90% of people will only ever be a bystander to some sort of impropriety which means that we need to examine our role and the complicity when we find out a woman has been abused physically, emotionally or spiritually?

The big question is how do we ensure the safety and equity of women in the workplace and in places of worship?

Today on the podcast I am chatting with Tiffany Bluhm, the author of Prey Tell  -- Why we silence women who tell the truth and how everyone can speak up.

We'll be talking about why women stay silent, what is the role of the gatekeeper, how we're benefiting from broken systems, and what it takes to become an ally.

Tiffany Bluhm is the author of Prey Tell: Why We Silence Women Who Tell the Truth and How Everyone Can Speak Up. She is co-host of the podcast Why Tho and speaks around the world. Her work has been featured on the YouVersion Bible app, Publisher's Weekly, Sojourners, and the Jenny McCarthy Show.

157 | Why You Need To Speak Up

WITH ANDREA CRISP

Squarespace Bio Pic.png

Maybe you’ve experienced a time in your own life when you felt knew deep down that you had something to share - a story, a message, the truth about who you are and instead of stepping up and sharing it you sat waiting and secretly hoping someone would give you permission.
— Andrea Crisp

About This Episode:

There comes a point in our lives when speaking up is not only important but absolutely necessary to thrive. Women have a tendency to downplay their own unique skill sets and what they have to offer when it comes to relationships, opportunity, and money.

It has taken me a really long time to see how this has played out personally in my life. And today on the podcast I want to share the 5 times I wish that I had spoken up sooner and the lessons I've learned along the way. With a little bit of encouragement -- I hope that you will start speaking up for yourself as well.

WITH ANDREA CRISP

Maybe you hope that someone will take pity on you and throw you a few bucks here and there so you can stay in the game — but at the end of the day you REALLY don’t feel like you deserve or are worthy of getting paid for what you can do.
— Andrea Crisp

About This Episode:

Have you ever felt like the gap between where you are right this very moment and where you want to be is so wide that it's almost impossible to close it? Maybe you've been dreaming of launching a course and helping so many people with what you've been learning but you feel like there are mountains standing in your way. So often we think that it's about strategy when really it's about shifting our mindset about what is possible in our lives.
