As we embark on another holiday season I want to remind you that you are the sole creator of your experience. The holiday season can be both magical and also one of the hardest times of the year but it all depends on your perception and on how you decide to show up for yourself.

On the podcast I want to share with you how I have learned to keep my peace in the midst of unmet expectations, being single during the holidays and why I believe it is important to set an intention for what you want to manifest.

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

As we embark on another holiday season, I want to remind you that you are the sole creator of your experience. The holiday season can be both magical and also one of the hardest times of the year. But it all depends on your perception and how you decide to show up for yourself. So today on the podcast, I want to share with you how I have learned to keep my peace in the midst of unmet expectations being single during the holidays, and why I believe it's important to set an intention for what you desire to manifest even during the holidays.

Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love? Welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, mindset coach, author, and a multi passionate entrepreneur. For years, I was afraid to allow myself to shine that was until I discovered that I could step into my own power, shift my mindset and take ownership of my own destiny. Now I coach women across the globe who are ready to own their life and make a massive impact. Each week I'll share conversations with amazing humans who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hey there, welcome to the Courage Cast. My name is Andrea and I am so excited. And not just because it's podcast day, but because we are merely weeks away from Christmas. And I feel like I have honestly been celebrating the holidays. Probably for I don't know since the beginning of November. That's what I put my Christmas tree up. I absolutely love Christmas. It is I don't know, it's just one of my favorites. But I used to not have that kind of love for it, even though I wanted to I really didn't. And a lot of the reason for that was because there were a lot of an unmet expectations. I don't know about you. But that seems to be the case.

So often, when we have big holidays, big family gatherings, when we're really, you know, expected to do a certain thing, show up a certain way, follow certain traditions. And you know, maybe we're living in a different way than our family. Or perhaps we're not going to be with family. And a lot of those things just kind of leave us feeling a little bit less than Mary. So today, what I wanted to talk about is I want to share with you how you are the creator of your own experience. And this is the holiday edition. So I want to start by asking you, How are you planning on spending the holidays? Are you gonna be with family? Are you someone who prefers to take a vacation to a sandy beach? Or do you just love like the whole cabin Christmas winter thing? What is something that you're going to be doing over the holidays?

Now, I definitely love having Christmas at home. But a few years ago, I spent two Christmases back to back in Florida, on the beach and not gonna lie. I loved it. It was awesome. I didn't think I was gonna like it at all it you know, it was really unfamiliar. I come from Northern Ontario. It's always generally snowing around Christmas time. And I thought to myself, am I even going to feel like Christmas like is even going to feel like the holidays. And I absolutely loved it. But this year, I'm going to be up in Cape Town where I live and this is the first year that I'm going to be spending Christmas. The holidays without my immediate family. What I know, can you believe it? I'm 48 years old never spent the Christmas holidays apart from my parents. Now I say that. And my family was supposed to have left about two weeks ago for Florida. They have still yet to leave and it is now December 9.

So at the date of recording, I am planning on spending the holidays by myself. So one of the reasons why I am not going to Florida is because of my dog coffee. And she's a year and a half old and she is a bit of a hurricane. And honestly, she's just not ready for that kind of travel and to be away and to do all the things and so it would just be a bit of a nightmare to try and navigate all of that. So I decided that I am staying put and I am going to be here over the holidays. But back I don't know about six weeks ago maybe I had a conversation with my friend Wendy and we We had this huge conversation around holidays. And this is actually was the catalyst, leading me to record this podcast episode for you.

So as with anything in life, if we have expectations around certain things in our lives, circumstances, events, holidays, or expectations really on what we believe is supposed to happen, what we think is supposed to happen, it's entirely possible that those expectations will not be met. And we will end up disappointed. So I wanted to share with you how can you really be the creator of your own experience. And this applies to anything in your life, but it can certainly apply to the holidays. So when I found out that my family, my parents, were going to be in Florida for the month of December, like I said, they still haven't left yet. Then I was like, Oh my gosh, I might be so lonely. And I started down this like whole rabbit trail of how possibly awful it was going to be okay. Like, it was like literally, one of those moments where I'm like, you know, worst case scenario, this that next, and I thought, oh, my gosh, Andrew, this is crazy. So I decided I was gonna get really clear create an intention, and how I wanted to feel over the holidays. So I was not really in control of what was going to happen, where I was going to be, who was going to be with me. But I really wanted to create an intention for myself so that I would have a great holiday, even if I was alone. Now, the beauty of this is that it's really not about what happens, it's not about whether or not I'm invited somewhere, or I'm spending a certain day with someone, or really what happens over the Christmas holidays or Christmas Day, Christmas Eve.

It's really about how I feel about the situation, how I allow myself to be within those few days. And so creating an intention for myself felt like the best thing to do. And we are the creator of our experience. So we can create what we desire. And it's all about being at cause and knowing that you are at cause for your life, you are responsible. You are in the driver's seat, you are taking ownership over how you want to be, and not being at effect not being at the mercy of what happens. Because, honestly, so often things happen that are out of our control that we just don't anticipate. And it could totally turn everything on its head. But if you already know exactly what you want to feel, during a certain period of time, especially during the holidays, then you're gonna be like, You know what, doesn't really matter. Because I'm going to experience the joy and the peace of Christmas, no matter what.

But for years, it was not like this for me, because I was someone who had really high expectations when it came to the holidays. And there were often Christmases, Thanksgivings, like just many, many different holidays, that I was disappointed, because I wanted things to be a certain way I wanted the circumstances to be a certain way. And he didn't realize that it's really not about the circumstances, it's really about our perception or attitude around what is going on. And when I really started learning about how we are deliberately creating our lives, and we can create with intention, then I started to see that no matter what the circumstance, I could decide how I was going to feel and how I was going to be no matter what happened. So I want to just share with you how you can do that. So perhaps your holidays are often filled with toxic family members or situations where you would just rather avoid maybe you have a propensity to want everything to be just so you want things to be perfect.

So you want everything decorated a certain way. You want everything to be a certain way you want people to show up a certain way. Or maybe you're in a position right now where you're like, oh my gosh, I'm going to be alone like no one's going to be around. Case in point myself. Maybe you are someone who has experienced trauma in your life, you know, it could be serious trauma, it could be small t trauma doesn't really matter. But maybe there are some fears of how you're going to be over the holidays. Maybe you're just thinking to yourself, you know, I don't fit in with my family, like they don't get me, you know, they don't understand what I'm about, or there's just a lot of complexity in the family dynamics, whatever you are going to be facing over the holidays, I want to let you know that when you create how you want to show up for yourself, and for the people in your life, and how you want to feel, then you can create that experience, no matter what happens. And really, when you think about manifestation, we attract what we think about.

So if we're going into a situation concerned or worried that something's going to happen, oh, my goodness, I'm going to be alone, how am I going to feel it's going to be awful, then it's entirely likely that I would feel all of those things. And I would have the worst Christmas, I don't know, maybe I'd be crying my eyes out all day, Christmas Day, who knows. So what I want to suggest to you today, is get really clear on how you want to feel over the holidays, maybe it's over a course of a few days a week, maybe it's just a day, maybe it's just, you know, saying to yourself, I really want to be at peace over the holidays, well, I don't want you to just stop there. And just say that, you know, I really want you to take a little bit of time and write it out. You know, put on some Christmas music, visualize yourself, enjoying yourself, and feel in to that emotion, feel into that peace and that joy, and allow yourself to compulsively create what it is that you desire.

Because I can almost guarantee you that when you really are intentional about visualizing and creating what it is that you desire over the holidays, you will feel so much better than what you might think you're going to feel like now. And the circumstances may even align for you in ways that you would have never imagined. Now, as I mentioned, it's December 9 Today, as I'm recording this podcast episode, so we're just a couple weeks shy of Christmas. And, you know, as I said, my parents were supposed to have left already at the beginning of December. So they ended up having some van trouble and then they both got sick. And so it's been delayed, delayed delayed. And you know, it was really interesting was when I first wrote out what I wanted to say on the podcast was weeks ago, it was well before they were supposed to leave. And now looking back, I'm like, Oh my gosh, this is so funny, because we've had so much more time together through the beginning of December to do different things, drive around, see Christmas lights, go to some parties together, do some things like I mean, it's just it's it's so funny because I create an intention about how I wanted to feel. Not saying I attracted them staying here. But you never know.

And,even I think I had said in a previous podcast about how I thought I was buying tickets to stars on ice. And then I didn't buy them accidentally. And so I was left without a ticket. And I just waited on it. I just decided I would get it at the last minute. And as it turns out, my mom's gonna be here. And she's going with me. So we bought tickets. And we're going to be headed tomorrow to see the stars nice holiday show. So I say all of this to say sometimes, it's really all about creating how you want to feel and how you want to be not how are the circumstances going to play out for you. Because you're not in control of the circumstances, how things are going to work, who's going to do what how people are going to respond, how people are going to act. But what you are in control of is how you are and how you can experience something because you are the creator of your own experience.

So I would encourage you if you're in a position in your life where you're thinking to yourself, you know what, Andrea, this is totally me. I might be triggered over the holidays, things might happen. Set aside some time to visualize how you are going to be over the holidays and really allow yourself to be in that zone, just be in that frequency be in that energy. It'll be what it will be. And that will be okay. But you don't have to be reactive to what is going on, you can set the tone for what you desire, and allow the universe to bring you what it is that you need, and allow the universe to bring you what you've created. So having said that, and we're since we're so close to Christmas, I want to wish you, your family a very merry Christmas. I just feel so grateful that we have been on this journey together. And we have one more podcast for 2022 which is going to come up next week. And then we'll be well into 2023. And I'm excited about that. So friend, I love ya. You're the creator of your own experience. You can do this.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly. If you like this episode of The Courage cast, we'd love to hear from you. Hey, friend, are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love? Welcome to the Courage Cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, Mindset Coach, Author and a multi passionate Entrepreneur. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brief steps in your own life and business.

Well, hello, friend, I cannot believe this is literally the last podcast of 2023. I have been reflecting for weeks on this year, and what has been and how I have grown in my own life. And I wonder if you have been to if you have taken this time, these past few weeks to really get honest with yourself about where you are in your life, where you are in your business, where you are in your finances, where you are in your relationships, and where you want to be.

And this is a perfect time for you to release, what is no longer serving your highest good. And when I say that, what I really mean is that there are probably some things that you did this year, there are some things you took part in, there are some relationships you had that were good, but they're not where you're going, they're not going to help you really get to a place where you desire to go. So today, I decided I'm going to kind of ditch all the notes, I am going to speak from the heart. And I want to just share with you, you know how this year really went for me. And what I'm leaving behind.

Because I know moving forward, there is no longer room for those things, because they are not serving who I am becoming. And I believe that you are also probably in a place in your own life where you're thinking to yourself, you know what I do want to transcend to the next level, in my life in my business, I want to expand I want to grow, I want to really grow my income, my impact, I want better, stronger, more intimate relationships. And you're not going to get there if you are doing the same things you were doing this year. But I first want to start with something that may be a little bit surprising. And I want to say this, you know, we can look for all the outside reasons and circumstances and things that we should let go of. But I want to start by asking you, what have you been holding on to about yourself that you have almost allowed to make excuses for yourself, where you've allowed yourself to make excuses for your behaviors, or make excuses for your lack of action, or make excuses for the fact that you are still doing the same things over and over again.

You know, when we're really looking at what is no longer serving us, we have to realize that we're in the driver's seat. We have to take ownership over our own lives, because no one else is going to do that. And when I was thinking about you know, leaving behind what is no longer serving me, the big thing that stood out to me was leaving behind the old stories, the old narratives, really the old identity that I hid behind for so long. Because I needed a reason to be where I was at, I needed to feel better about myself. So instead of trying to get where I wanted to go, I came up with reasons and excuses of why I was still here. When I think of what is no longer serving me, the mirror is really pointed at me. So I want to encourage you to really take an inward look at where you might be standing in your own way.

When it comes to having a thriving business, when it comes to really making progress on your financial goals, when it comes to developing those intimate relationships, when it comes to establishing yourself as an authority. What is the story you have been telling yourself? What is the narrative that has been playing out in your life, until you get sick and tired of that old narrative of that old story of those excuses of those reasons. Thinking that you're at the effect of what is happening in your life, you're probably going to stay the same. And likely having this conversation in another year, saying to yourself, oh, my gosh, I probably should have let go a lot sooner.

And that is where I found myself. For a long time, I wanted things to change, I wanted circumstances to change. If only this would happen, then I wouldn't be here. If only I could make more money, then I would have a better business, if only I would. And the list went on and on and on. So from my finances, to my relationships, to my business to really even my health and wellness goals. I always wanted to point the finger out at the circumstances, and not really take a look at where I was falling short, and how I was standing in my own way. So there are three things that I want to leave you with as you move into the new year. So the first one is to really take a look at what it is that you value in your life.

Where are you placing your attention, because what you value will be what you focus on, and will be the plumb line for the year. It will be how you show up for yourself. And just a few weeks ago, I sat down and I rewrote some of my own values. So that I could really get clear on how I wanted to show up. And when I started to look at those values, I realized that I wasn't showing up in that way. And that in order for me to do that, I was going to have to let go of my fear, I was going to have to let go of feelings of doubt, of insecurity, I was going to have to let go of uncertainty, I was going to have to let go of being comfortable. And those five values for me, are something that I truly want to live by as we move into 2023. And I'll probably share those with you as we move into the new year.

But I encourage you to sit down and really ask yourself, what do I value? And how do I really want to be in my life. And in my business. Because how we do one thing is how we do everything. And then the second thing is to take a look at the story you're telling yourself because it's really through our perception of events or perception of ourselves or what is happening or not happening, that we create a story or a narrative that we live by. And we get so used to believing that story and that narrative and focusing on it that we call it into existence.

And you might be living a story right now that you really are thinking to yourself, how did I get here? But if you trace it back to what you were thinking maybe 369 12 months ago, then you might say Oh, that's how I got here, whether good or bad, because it's all about what your perception of reality is, and how you are filtering that reality. So if you don't like it, then you're gonna have to start creating a new narrative, a new story for your life. It's as simple as writing it out, it's as simple as connecting with it, visualizing it, and really getting it in your heart, your soul and your spirit. And then the third thing is, who are you being? What is the identity that you're living out?

When I started to look at that for myself, I started to realize, when I looked, took a mirror to my life, you know, this is not really who I want to be, I am not really living out my fullest potential. And the reason I'm not is because I'm identifying as someone who has what I have now. And in order to create the life I want, and something that I desire to be in in the future, I am going to have to step into the identity of her now. And so it became really clear to me that I have to create an identity of the person I want to become the woman I want to become the business owner I want to become, and my focus has to be on becoming her now, not waiting for the future, not putting it so far away, that it's never going to happen. But realizing that truly any thing is possible.

So between really evaluating your values, and how you are going to move through the world, what you value within your life and business, the story you're telling yourself, and the identity you are living out, I believe that will shine a light on how you can create what you desire, and release. What no longer serves you. Now, having said all that, there is a few things that I do want to say, I want to tell you, you've come so far. And this is something that I've been reminding myself, you know, there's so much grace for what you didn't know already, and for where you've been and the things you've tried, and perhaps you've really, really been trying for a long time. And it almost feels like you're beating your head against the wall.

Friend, there's so much grace for you. Take some time to be grateful for how far you've already come and what you've already been able to do in your life. And recognize that when you know better, you do better. And now that you know that you want to create something even more spectacular in your life. And you want to have more impact and more income. And you want to really step into that identity of that version of yourself that you've always known yourself to be. Then release yourself. Release the shame. Forgive yourself, and really allow yourself to step in confidently to that next level version of who you are becoming. And let go of what has been bless and release. Because how you are going to step in, is really how you're going to create something magnetic in your life. So my friend, instead of thinking about all the things and friends and people you have to release from your life, all the opportunities, which Yeah, are great, and sometimes that is necessary.

The person that you might have to release is that old version of you is that former self, the one who has been holding you back, and there's grace for that. So as you're entering into this new year, I just want to say that you are very loved. And I hope that we can continue this journey moving forward in 2023 that you have the most blessed New Year.

And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly. If you like this episode of The Courage cast, we'd love to hear from you. Leave us a rating review and while you're there, hit subscribe so you never miss an episode. Original music and production by Steven Crelly.

243 | How Creating Room For Expansion Changed My Life And Business

WITH ANDREA CRISP

When you choose a word for yourself you may even want to take a deeper look at the impact it will have on certain area’s of your life.
— Andrea Crisp

Every year I chose a word for the year. It's something I have done religiously for the past five or so years. It's a word that I deeply connect with and something that I want to build my entire year around in every area of my life. When it came to choosing a word for 2022 I knew that I had some work to do to help me truly move beyond where I was.

The word'expansion' kept coming up in my life and when I sat to really think about what I wanted -- it was the word EXPANSION that I knew was what I needed for me to take the next steps in my life. Today on the podcast I want to share how I have allowed myself to expand and what that really looks like for me.

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

Every year I choose a word for the year. It's something I've done religiously for the past five or so years, a word I deeply connect with and something that I want to build my entire year around. But when it came to choosing a word for 2022, I knew that I had some work to truly help me move beyond where I was, and the word expansion kept coming up in my life. So when I decided on what word I wanted to use for the year, the word expansion was the choice. I knew I needed to take steps in my life to expand in every area. Today on the podcast, I want to share with you how I have used the word expansion, and what that has done for me, as I've allowed myself to expand in my life, and in my business.

Each week, I'll share conversations with amazing humans who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hey there, welcome to the Courage Cast. My name is Andrea and I am your host, and I'm so excited. You're here today, oh my gosh. Today, I went for a walk to coffee out into the trails. And it is like about two weeks from Christmas, maybe even a little less. And honestly, it is so cold. Winter has descended upon us. And as I was walking through the trail, it was almost as if I couldn't believe that this is where we're at. It seems like just yesterday, I was starting off 2022. And I was planning out what it was going to look like. And here we are at the end of the year. And I wanted to talk about a word of the year, something that we use to really set our intentions around. Now I am someone who does take time every year to reflect back on the year. And I also plan out what I want to see happen.

Now I'm not meticulously planning every single detail. But I like to have some sort of idea. So that I know what is the roadmap and where am I going? And how am I going to get there. So this week, I'm going to be spending the weekend planning and reflecting on my year. And if you're somebody who likes to do that, I would encourage you to take maybe even a day to get away, maybe get alone, go to a coffee shop and just grab a coffee, get your journal and just sit and reflect on what has been what went well, what you'd like to change, and what do you desire for the new year. Now, it's not a resolution, I think that's something completely different resolutions are things that we use to say I will never do this again. And really, that doesn't work.

Because when we focus on things we don't want to do, we end up doing more of the same. So I want to ask you have you already created your word for the year have you set your intentions for 2023 This is the time you know, by the time the holidays roll around, you're going to probably be well on your way into you know, doing family things, maybe traveling. And so now's the time to actually take you know, an hour, take an afternoon, take a whole day, whatever it was whatever you want, and really set aside that time for yourself. Now, for me, the word expansion kept coming up in my life. And so when I was thinking about what I wanted my 2022 to look like the word expansion was basically the only choice for me. And I knew that it was because I wanted to grow. I wanted to really open myself up to new possibilities and I knew that meant learning more. It meant you know, making more room for things in my life. And the beginning of the year I actually kind of thought oh the word expansion is kind of sexy. And after the end of the year I'm like it is definitely not it is definitely not sexy. It has been while expansive. I have had an entire year of growth. So I always I always laugh and say,

Be careful what you wish for Be careful what you are intending on doing. Because when those things manifest, kinda like, well, I set myself up for this. So the word expansion has been the catalyst for change in so many areas of my life. And I hope by sharing my experience with you, that it will help you to create a word for yourself moving into 2023. But before I do that, let me tell you about my own process. So when I pick a word, I generally know that it's going to touch every area of my life. So I look at it in the financial sense, I know that I want to really be intentional about my health and wellness, my relationships, my professional life, my emotional bandwidth, and even my recreation. And now even just think about it so funny, like how the word expansion really has touched every area this year. So as I look at my year, and I look out, generally, what I like to do is I like to look at it in quarters, or 90 day increments, because it's easier for me to focus on 90 days at a time and really be intentional about that, and maybe know what's going to happen the next 90 days, but not be so in that second quarter, or that third quarter until the time comes. So for me, that's what I like to do, I like to look at it in chunks, the first 90 days, first quarter, second, 90 days, and so forth. So when I chose the word expansion, I knew that I wanted to focus on a couple of areas at the beginning, because that was going to be what was going to basically be the catalyst for everything else. So the first one was finances. And the second one was my business. And then the third one was my personal growth.

One of my big takeaways was how much I learned about how to deal with money, the mindsets that have held me back and how I have been actively blocking my own abundance, through my mindset and through the stories that I have allowed myself to really believe. And it was truly eye opening. For me, it was the exact expansion, I needed to put myself in the driver's seat when it comes to my finances when it comes to money, learning about money, learning about money mindset, learning about the energetic flow of money, how to call it in with ease, and how to really just be okay with money. And it's so interesting, because many of my clients that come to me, we end up talking about money. And it's one of those things where I completely understand and I, I know the barriers that we all face when it comes to money.

And it's one of those things that Vanessa has said to me and really to the group over and over again, is that it doesn't matter how much money you're making, you could be making, you know, basically the poverty line, or you could be making like 50k a month doesn't matter. Whatever you are doing. And however that looks in your life, there is money blocks that you are going to have to work through. So this is continual expansion. And the beauty of what I feel like I have been able to do this year with being a part of that cohort, unblock abundance, is understand that my financial journey and the expansion of my financial journey is on going. And I'm okay with that. And I know that as I go, I'm going to keep growing, I'm going to keep learning, and I'm going to keep accumulating wealth. So I love that. So it has been a complete game changer.

And, and as if that was not enough, she actually created a second program called unblock your business. And so we are now in the midst of diving into the expansion of our business finances. So it has really truly changed the game for me. Now the second place that I wanted to focus the expansion was in my business because I knew that I had to take a step back and see the big picture view of what was happening. And I had been trying many different approaches and many different things over the year. And I knew for me expansion meant learning about my business specifically and about learning how to sell effectively and how to create leads and cultivate community within my business, all of those things. And so the next area that I really wanted to focus on was in my business and so I enrolled in sales and social.

I had already been working with Gillian Murphy who is a phenomenal sales mentor and This container, wow, it was expanding, oh my goodness, the amount of things that she was able to teach us and I was able to learn about how important not only sales are for our business, but learning how to build relationships that convert into sales and how to not be like a sleazy salesperson. But to really offer impactful things that people really want to be a part of and are willing to pay for. That was so, so helpful for me in understanding how I wanted to run my business. And so I took six months of the year to really dive into this process for myself, and I know have still so much to learn when it comes to this area. But it was definitely something that I knew I needed to focus on. And the expansion that I had, because of it was e Norris. The third area that I want to share with you is really expansion in my personal life.

So it's hard to tie this one up in a nice neat bow, because there's still so many things going on. But over the past few years, throughout the pandemic, I feel as though I had kind of been pressing pause, I guess, or putting myself on hold. Because I was intentionally working in my business, I have been living in a rural small town in northern Ontario feeling kind of like, you know, there's not much to do here other than just work and be at home online. So that was what I was doing. But I felt the nudge, and a big nudge at that, that it was really time for me to start putting myself out there again and start to create community here where I'm located, to build new connections, and really to create a life for myself, apart from what I'm doing in my business. And you know, I've always been the type of person where, wherever I am, I can build community and I've have amazing friends in real life and have amazing friends online. But I have to admit that over the past few years, it wasn't easy, it was actually really difficult. And I really almost like got to a point where I was like,

You know what, I'm just not going to do it, I guess I'm probably not gonna make friends here. And I'm not going to have a community here in northern Ontario. So I'm just going to go ahead, put my head down and focus on my work. But that match was really strong, and I knew that I had to follow it. So I was allowing myself to lean into that expansion. And you know, as the saying goes, you know, when you are expanding, it is not easy, there is stretching involved, and it can be challenging. And so I decided that one of the ways that I was going to do that was I was going to go and join a community center, who that offered programs, workout programs, and workout classes, gym, pool, squash courts, all the things. And for me, it was so funny, because it was a very simple thing to do. But when I started going, it was almost as though I came back to life in a way that I had not really been experiencing it over the past few years, you know, being in isolation up here in the northern part of Ontario. And so I really, really started to see myself living outside of just my online business, which was amazing.

And I'm so grateful because I am now going to the community center several times a week, I'm back to going skating, and really just back to enjoying my life and creating something for myself. That feels really good. And I'm still allowing myself to lean into the expansion. But as that came that came towards the end of the year. So as I was focused on the 90 day increments it started with finances then moved into business, and then personal. And generally what I like to do is I like to do three things in a year. So that's how I focus myself. And choosing the word expansion, when it came to my personal growth is really where most of it took place because I had to move out of my old paradigms, my old thought patterns, the stories I was telling myself so I could see where I could actually create something that I wanted to live out of. And throughout the year as well.

This is something that I have not mentioned, but I was studying NLP manifestation human design, and just even doing that was so so helpful for me, because I didn't realize up until that point that I had such a fixed mindset, but allowing my myself to learn these modalities really has opened me up, to know that I have so much to learn still, and there is still so much growth. And I was noticing patterns in my life that I was able to start to shift. And that was all because of the expansion that I had really been intentional about creating within my life. So I wanted to share with you just some of the people who have been my expanders, because, you know, it's one thing for us to, to do things on our own, and to focus and be intentional about creating things on our own.

But it's a whole other thing to invite people in on the journey with us. And so I'm going to share with you some of my people, some of the the friends and mentors, peers that I have been walking this journey with. So the first person I want to share about is my friend, Stephanie, who I have been meeting with weekly for over a year, her and I met in fast foundations, and we connected we connected very quickly. And we decided that we wanted to be holding each other accountable. And over the course of our relationship, we have experienced huge expansion within our lives and in our business. And because we have been on a journey to learn and grow in our self development, and in our business development, we are able to really help one another see each other's blind spots. And it has been just a tremendous catalyst for expansion within my life. So grateful for Stephanie. And it's so funny because I have never actually met Stephanie in person. So I am excited for the day when that will actually happen.

Hopefully, it's 2023 that we will actually meet in person. The other two expanders that I have been meeting with are also coming from fast foundations, which are Amanda and Christina, and they are beautiful souls. And both of them. And the three of us decided that we were going to meet every second week, after we wrapped fast foundations, which was back at the beginning of 2022. And in our container, what we do is we talk about our businesses, we troubleshoot areas that we really want to work on. And it has really been an area of of my life where it's I'm able to kind of get granular and really talk about some of the things that are not working. And on top of that, we've just also been able to just share very candidly and openly about how we feel about business and what things are going on. And it's so cool, because Christina is in her 20s Amanda is in her 30s and I'm in my 40s and so we span the generations, so we have such unique perspectives to bring. And yet we are all so like minded, which is just amazing.

So both Amanda and Christina have been amazing expanders within my life. And of course, my wealth abundance buddies, my my wealth expanders, Vanessa and Tamiya, who we have been basically meeting over the past probably six months. So as I mentioned, Vanessa is my money mindset mentor. And Tamiya is also in the groups that I have been in with Vanessa. But what we have been doing is really connecting on the level of finances and holding space for one another in that area. Oh, my gosh, if you don't have someone in your life, who has a wealth expander you need to get one. This has been such a tremendous, tremendous blessing for my life. So I recommend that to anyone. When you are trying to make strides in your life, you're trying to move forward, get a wealth expander. So as you can see, my whole entire 2022 was filled with expansion, really focusing on my finances, my business and my personal growth, to really start showing up for myself in a whole new way.

I'm grateful for the programs and the masterminds that I've been part of. I'm just super, super grateful for the friends, the peers who are on the journey and are willing to do this work with me and walk alongside me I'm grateful for Stephanie for an for Amanda. I'm grateful for Stephanie, Amanda, Christina, Vanessa Tamiya. And of course, the mentors that I have worked with over the year, which at the beginning were Chris and Laurie harder. And at the beginning of the year were Chris and Laurie harder as well as Gillian Murphy. So, man, when I think back of this year, I am just so so grateful of how I was able to utilize my word for the year, and truly create expansion in my life and in my business. So I hope that this has encouraged you to be really intentional about creating a word for yourself. And for setting aside the time to choose the direction you want to go. Because Because where you put your attention is exactly where you will end up.

And so even as I'm saying that I am reminded myself to be so intentional about choosing a word, sometimes, you know, choosing a whole big path seems daunting, and a bit overwhelming, quite frankly. But when you choose one word, and just keep coming back to that word, and you know exactly what that word means for you, you cannot go wrong. So I'm going to be including in the show notes today, a free guided meditation to set your intentions for 2023. And I hope that it will help you to start on the path to really have the best year you've ever had in your life and your business, your relationships, your finances, all of the ways. So make sure you go to the shownotes and you can click on that link and it will take you to a free workbook and a free guided meditation just for you to help you as you are sorting out your plans for the new year. Okay, friends, I am excited.

We are a couple of episodes away from the end of the year. Oh my gosh. And just like right around the corner is Christmas and super excited for that. So anyways, love you. 242 | How To Move Towards Your Goals Faster

WITH ANDREA CRISP

If you are focused on who you are right now (the identity of your old behaviours) then you will stay there.
— Andrea Crisp

Your desires and goals are important. So important (in fact) that once you have thought about them they are in the creation process. But that is where most people get stuck. We allow ourselves to dream but then place our attention back on what we lack when really we need to be focusing on what we desire. Today on the podcast I'm going to share with you how I have changed my perspective when it comes to manifestation and how I personally move towards my desires and goals.

Journal Prompts:

  1. Is this serving me (these thoughts)?

  2. What are you trying to get away from?

  3. Are you trying to justify your old circumstances?

  4. Do you believe that you deserve or are worthy of your goals /desires?

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

Your desires and goals are important. So important, in fact, that once you've thought about them, they are in the creation process. But that is where most people get stuck, allowing ourselves to dream, but then placing our attention back on what we lack, when really, we need to be focusing on what we desire. Today on the podcast, I'm going to share with you how I've changed my perspective, when it comes to manifestation, and how I personally move towards my desires and goals.

Each week, I'll share conversations with amazing humans who have been willing to face their fear and pursue their purpose. I'll provide a blend of practical and spiritual advice to help you take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hey, friend, welcome to the courage cast. This is Andrea, I am your host, and I'm excited to be with you today. Oh my gosh, we are nearing the holidays, we have just had American Thanksgiving, which you know, of course, I did not celebrate because I'm Canadian. But you know, the whole world basically stops for American Thanksgiving. And of course, all the Black Friday stuff. And this year as Christmas kind of edges closer and closer. There are a lot of things that are different for me. And I am feeling this sense of anticipation and excitement. But here's the thing. This is the very first year, like in my whole adult life, oh, probably also in my whole life in general, that I will be spending Christmas without my immediate family. I know crazy, right? So I am in love with Christmas, I love the holidays. So it does feel a bit strange that I will not be with my family. But I have decided that I am still going to be very intentional about keeping my focus on what I choose to create around the holidays, even though I will be on my own.

So that brings me to a question that I wanted to open today's podcast episode on. Are you someone who is moving towards your desires and goals? Or are you someone who is trying to move away from your current circumstances? Now, you may not think there's much of a difference between those two questions. But there really is and how you approach your own growth and expansion will determine the results that you get when you are creating a goal in your life or when you are being clear about your desires. And I spent the majority of my adulthood, moving away from my circumstances, trying to escape whatever it was that I wanted to move away from. And instead of looking at how I could move towards what I desired, I was always running from the lack in my life. And I thought that I was doing the right thing. It felt like what I was supposed to be doing. But it was really a futile attempt at trying to change my life. And even when I thought about the Christmas holidays and how you know, it's quickly approaching. At first I was like, Oh, well what if I'm really sad and feeling alone and you know, all of these things, right? And I was thinking, what if I feel bad. And that would be me trying to move away from circumstances.

And instead what I decided to do was to focus on creating intentionally what I desire in my life around the holidays. And that really boils down to peace and joy and contentment and fun. And I bring all of those things. So I can have all of that even if I'm not around my immediate family. This was a huge reality check for me, because I started to see that when I am trying to run on things, I'm actually staying in the vibration and the frequency of what I'm trying to run from, versus when I am moving towards what I desire, and allowing myself to already feel that way, then it's almost as though it has already happened. So I want to talk to you about what it looks like to move towards your goals, and how that works when it comes to manifestation. And, you know, maybe you're in a place where you're thinking, you know, I want to grow my business, or I want to earn more income, or I want to work with different kinds of clientele. Or maybe you want to get fit and healthy and lose weight. And all of those things have been different desires, and goals in my own life. And I have to honestly say that many times probably all of the times that I've tried to accomplish those goals, I maybe got to the goal, but then like, totally went backwards, and gained all the way back or found myself yo yoing in my finances, or found myself not really moving forward with my goals. And so I wanted to share with you what I have found that is working for me, so that you can apply this to your life as well. Here are a few examples. First of all, when I wanted to lose weight and get healthy, you would usually put my attention on how much weight I wanted to lose, right, because I was creating a goal.

And I would say if I wanted to lose this many pounds this many inches, and almost becomes you know, moving away from this weight, you're at the current weight, you're at the current state you're in to get to where you want to go. But I would find that I always hung on to those pounds, like they never left me, no matter what I did, I could be eating all the right foods I could be working out, I could be drinking water. And I never truly truly lost the weight. The only time that have ever been successful when it comes to weight management in any way, is when I wanted to train for a 10k. And I've talked about this before in another podcast, and really, you know, planning on actually achieving something and focusing on the achievement of that thing, which was running 10 kilometers, the byproduct of which was losing weight, because I had to train for it. And in training for it, I actually lost I think probably over 30 pounds at the time. Now here's the thing, I was focused on what I desired, not focused on the weight I was at, or the current situation I found myself in when it came to earning more money and my business, it was the same thing. My attention was on what I was currently doing how much money I was currently making, not on the amount of money I wanted to create not on moving towards that and what that would look like to move towards that amount.

And then thirdly, the the last example I'm gonna share with you, when it comes to this is building new connections and having deeper relationships. Now, this one has been a little easier for me. But in the past, when I would focus on, you know, what I didn't have, I didn't have friends, I didn't have people in my life, I didn't have, you know, the right kind of connections to you know, grow or to expand. Then I stayed exactly where I was. And I that was exactly what has happened to me over the past few years. I'm not gonna lie. Being in a small town, I had it in my mind that there was no way that I was going to build relationships. And I had to shift my perspective and think about what I do desire and start relating it to other times in my life where I have been able to make friends. And it's been so easy to make friends. Because I was focusing on what I desired.

So maybe you find yourself in a position in your life right now where you're like, Yeah, I do have desires. I have goals, like maybe you're trying to finish things off for the year, but maybe you're trying to think about what do you want to build next year and 2023 As I've said many many times before, where your attention goes is exactly where you will end up. So let me spell it out for you. Okay, where your attention is placed, is going to be what you attract into your life. So if you're looking to move away from something, and you're focused on moving away from it, versus on really attracting what you desire, you will attract more of the thing you don't want. And when I say the word attract what I actually mean is that you'll be so focused on What you don't want that it will consume your thoughts. I don't know if you've ever had this happen, where it's like, literally, your mind is being bombarded by thought after thought after thought. And you'll end up taking action from a place of lack versus taking action towards what you desire, which is from your desire, it's like taking action from it already being accomplished.

Like, if you knew already, how you were going to accomplish something, how you were going to achieve a certain goal, how you were going to get there, then you would know how to take action from that place. So I want to invite you to think about a current goal you have in your life right? Now, you may want to pause the podcast, take a moment to write it out. Really get specific about what you want the outcome to be. And when you're doing that, take a moment to write a how you're going to feel when you've accomplished this goal, or you've achieved this particular thing, or you've manifested something into your life. Visualize yourself having accomplished the goal, or receiving the desire, see yourself in that place, feel what you're gonna feel, hear what you might hear someone say to you, make it so real for you, as if it has all already happened.

Okay. And as you're doing that, how do you feel thinking about that goal, like, if you're already there, and you've already achieved something doesn't feel amazing, because you're already there. Now, if you've never done this before, in full disclosure, it may seem a little strange, because you're like, Well, I've never done this, and I don't know how I'm going to feel. So I would say, start with something small. And start with something that you can actually have that feeling, you can understand how you're going to feel you know how you would feel, maybe you're going to even equate it to something else in your life that you have had a result in. So let's use this as an example. Maybe you want to make a certain amount of money in your business. But you have never done that before. So you're like, I have no idea how I'd feel if I did that. But you do know what it takes to run a 10k or half marathon or marathon even you understand that feeling will then replace that feeling with the one that you desire, so that you know how you would feel you'd be like, well, if I crossed the finish line, I would feel amazing will imagine yourself crossing the finish line. But being making the money you desire.

And allow yourself to truly feel that. In my own personal life. One of the goals that I've had over the past few months is to be more present in my real life and make more connections in real life. Okay, so I've already kind of mentioned this. But when I was first thinking about this school, I was focusing on the fact that I didn't know how I was going to make friends here in the small town that I live in. Because I've lived here for three years, I have not really made any friends. I mean, no, that sounds really sad and pathetic. But in my life, I have lived a lot of places and I have made friends super easy. But then the pandemic, all things right. So I was like, how am I going to do this. And when I was focusing on what I was not able to do on the fact that I've already been through here three years, on the fact that there was a pandemic, on the fact that people really don't kind of have the same kind of interests that I do. Then I was like, Oh, I'm gonna stay stuck in this rut. So I needed a new approach.

In the past, I might have approached things much differently, I might have approached it from the fact that I've been, you know, alone for so long. I'm in a small town, all the things, but I knew that was not working. So I had to focus on what I desired and moving towards the outcome and the result. You see how it works. Now, it was so interesting, because as I was writing this podcast today, I actually came across this quote, when you are enjoying your own desire, that means you're in the vibrational vicinity of it, you are cooperating with it. And that's an Abraham Hicks quote. I love that when you're enjoying your own desire you're in the vibrational vicinity of it means you're closer to so when you are thinking about what you desire. When you are in the energy of what you desire, you're closer to the desire. The more you are in the lack. The more you are focused on what you don't have, the more you're going to be out of vibrational frequency of what it is. means there's going to be more resistance, more blocks, more things that are going to keep you from what it is that you desire. And I cannot stress to you how as many places as has come up for me in my life, I wouldn't even have enough time to tell you on a podcast, how often this has manifested in my life, because I was always constantly, I was consistently focused on what I didn't have.

So, here's some fun things to think about. When you think about it, you have the fun, you get to enjoy witnessing your desires coming into reality. Like think about that, like it's a process, it's a journey, you actually get to be witness bear witness to the creation of your desires. And when you think about that, it's like, Oh, my goodness, this is gonna be so fun. Like, this is the thing I desire. And I wonder how it's gonna happen? How I don't know. But I'm excited. And I'm anticipating it happening, and knowing that you can turn your thoughts into things. So when you're thinking about your own circumstances, and your own desires, the things that you do want, here are some things that you can be taking a look at it, do you think to yourself, well, I need this because my circumstances aren't good. Because if you're using that, as you know, kind of like the plumb line for yourself, then you're probably going to be looking at the lack, right? I need this because my circumstances aren't good. Versus I desire this, because of how much it's going to benefit me or how it's going to make my life better. See the difference?

Because I know that part of you wants the goal. But the other part of you is really holding on to the lack. Because if you're gonna stay in a position where you're justifying defending your current circumstances, like, oh, it's never gonna happen. These are the reasons these are the circumstances, oh, poor, me, I'm the victim in this, you are going to stay in that vibration, you're going to stay contrary to what your desire truly is, which is the result, the goal that you want. And that's going to keep you in resistance, and keep you from moving towards what you desire and receiving what you desire. So here are four questions that you can actually journal on to really ask yourself whether or not you are moving towards what you desire. Or you're focusing on what you lack.

Number one, is this thought serving me? Wow, okay. Just even that right there? Is this thought serving me?

Number two, what am I trying to get away from? Am I trying to justify my old circumstances?

Am I trying to defend them?

And then the fourth question is, do I believe that I am worthy of deserving these goals and desires, these four questions are going to help you to know whether or not you're in the energy of lack, or you're the in the energy of receiving or of abundance. Because if you're focused on where you are right now, the identity of your old behaviors, the old limitations, the old ways of being, you're going to stay there, and you're going to keep attracting more of the same. But when you step into the identity of what you desire, that is when you are going to attract what you desire.

And then it's easy to take aligned action because you already know you're worthy of achieving that you're worthy of having that because you can already feel as though you have created it because it has come into being even though it has not come into reality. And then look for the evidence, look for things signs to show up to indicate to you that you're on the right path that you are moving towards it that you are getting there. Allow yourself to have more expectation of receiving it than doubt of not receiving it. Okay? Now, all of this is really to help you to move towards your goals in a way that just is an alignment with who you are right? And I titled it faster, but I mean, really, to move towards your goals is just generally what we desire, and what we want and moving towards becoming that version of ourselves that has those things.

Now, moving forward into the new year, I am going to be opening up spots for the VIP experience. And I've called it the limitless VIP experience for a reason. Because I truly believe that we are all meant to be limitless and that we can be in the energy of what we desire, whether it be in our personal lives or Whether that be in our business, and so often we get stuck in the old mindsets, the old behaviors, the old identities of who we believe ourselves to be. And we know we want to move forward, we know we want to get there.

But we're not really entirely sure how to do that, or how to move past it, or how to integrate these new thoughts. Like, you know, maybe you think you're never going to get there, you're never going to achieve the success you desire, you're never going to have the clients to have a sustainable business. The limitless VIP experience is all about you, stepping in, you taking that opportunity for you to move towards your future self. And really embodying that in a way that truly allows you to attract what you desire. Sometimes it’s not the big decisions that are the hardest to act upon, sometimes it is the small ones.

The reason you are in confusion has nothing to do with the lack of clarity you have in your life and business. It is simply a bi-product of doing nothing and yet hoping that things magically fall into place.

Your blocks (limiting beliefs) may be telling you that you need more clarity but that is really your old narrative trying to keep you from moving forward.

The truth is you need to take action. Your confidence and clarity will increase exponentially when you take one step. And then another, and then another. The key it to act!

In this episode I am letting you in on what I have learned through action and inaction.

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

The reason you are in confusion has nothing to do with the lack of clarity you have in your life or in your business. It's simply a byproduct of doing nothing. And yet hoping that things magically fall into place. Your blocks, or your limiting beliefs may be telling you that you need more clarity.

But that is really your old narrative trying to keep you from moving forward. The truth is, you need to take action, your confidence, and clarity will increase exponentially when you take that one step. And then take another and another. The key is to act. In this episode, I'm letting you in on what I've learned by taking action. And when I never took any at all. Are you ready to take courageous steps to create a life and business you love?

Welcome to the courage cast. I'm Andrea Crisp, and empowerment coach, author, and a multi passionate entrepreneur. For years, I was afraid to allow myself to shine. That was until I discovered that I could step into my own power, shift my mindset and take ownership of my destiny. Now I coach women across the globe, who are ready to own their life and make a massive impact. With a blend of practical and spiritual advice. My hope is that the courage cast empowers you to take brave steps in your own life and business.

Hello, friend, welcome to the Courage Cast. I don't know about you. But this past week has felt a bit like a whirlwind. And we're just literally getting into the holiday season. Today is Black Friday. And honestly, it was intense. And looking back at the day, I almost wish that I would have just turned my phone completely off and went into isolation for a few days. So notice off, maybe that is exactly what I need to do next year. So when I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you for this week's podcast episode, something came up for me, and it feels a bit personal. So I hope that's okay, because we're just gonna get down and dirty today.

But I want to share with you what I have been learning about who I am, and what I'm capable of when it comes to taking courageous steps in my own life. So I titled this episode, Courage comes through action. And it's been literally about five plus years since I started the podcast. And when I decided to start it, I call it the courage cast. Because there was a need in my own life to be courageous, I needed to remind myself that it was okay to take baby steps. And that things did not have to be perfect for me to take action. And as a recovering perfectionist, that is a pretty big deal. So I knew that I wanted to live a bigger life.

And I knew that I was playing small, I was not taking action on things. I was not really living into my full potential. And I knew that there was more for me. So courage was something that I needed. It was something that was really important for me, in order for me to create that momentum in my life. And if I needed it, I know that there are other people who also need it as well. And maybe you are one of those people. And so here we are many years later, many episodes later. This is episode 241.

And I find that I am still learning this lesson, still trying to take brave steps in my life. And there have been many times when I have let the overwhelm keep me from moving forward. Keep me from doing what I truly believe is necessary for me and the growth of my business. So I want to start this episode by sharing a story with you. And for those of you who don't know, I am a huge ice skating fan, especially when it comes to ice dance. It probably in past episodes. You've heard me talk about my love for ice dance. The Olympics has virtue Scott Moyer. All the things. I'm literally obsessed. So I go to every single skating show possible. And I love going I get front row tickets. My mom and I by the backstage meet and greets. We go and meet all of the skaters.

It's like literally, like the best thing, and I love everything about it. And every day, my mom and I go to see the stars on a show in Toronto. It's basically our Mother's Day tradition. So when I found out that they were having a holiday show, I was so excited. The only problem was that I didn't have anyone to go with, my mom was already gonna be in Florida, she leaves very soon. And I don't really have any friends here that love ice skating, or interested in going to sea ice skating. So I was like, Okay, I guess I'm going to be on my own. And I thought, Oh, I don't know, do I really want to go on myself. But deep down, I really wanted to go. So I decided to take a look at the website and see how much the ticket prices were. And I know that they're pretty expensive.

And just as I expected they were and I kind of was like thinking okay, maybe I'll go maybe I won't, maybe I'll buy you know, maybe I'll get Senator ice tickets, maybe I'll find tickets are just a little less expensive. So I was in a bit of a quandary. And I was thinking about it, thinking about thinking about it to the point that I was driving myself crazy. So I decided I'm gonna just go ahead and buy myself a ticket, which is what I thought I did. However, as I was preparing this podcast, I was looking through some white emails, I was looking through the website to find the ticket that I bought. And I realized that I made a huge mistake. And I have thought that I bought the ticket to go see stars a nice holiday show. And upon investigation, I did not buy the ticket. So just trying to tell you, I'm actually feeling my blood pressure, just increase right now. I was so mad, like, I was like livid. And for several reasons.

Firstly, I thought that had bought and paid for this front row ticket that was very expensive. And I was excited to go. And it was only like a few short weeks away from the show. And now I don't have the ticket. And secondly, I have waited, I had waited so long to take action on buying the ticket going back and forth in my decision making that I ended up not even buying the ticket, which is crazy to me. So my indecision had cost me it was basically my lack of action, in full effect, which I have been finding lately, is the exact reason why I am not creating momentum in my life. And I'm not creating what it is that I truly desire. So when I titled this podcast episode, Courage comes through action, I'll tell you what comes through inaction. Indecision comes before inaction.

Okay, so here's the thing, I can still get the tickets, right, I can still go on the website. And there are still tickets available. And I can purchase one and especially because it's just me, there is a possibility of me being able to find a ticket and go. But the problem is, is that a I've got to come up with the money again. And I wasn't prepared to do it now. So not only is this showing up in my life, in this regard, but it's also showing up in other places as well. This is just one small example of how this has manifested in my life and will continue to manifest in my life. If I continue to stay in indecision. And, friend, if you are finding yourself in the same place, where you are being indecisive about things when you are not taking action, for whatever reason, that is, you will also stay exactly where you are. Let me ask you, where is inaction or indecision showing up in your life?

Are you sitting on something in your business right now? Maybe not taking action? Because you think Well, I just need a little bit more clarity. If I had more clarity on this, then I would know exactly what to do. And I would make the decision or are you finding yourself indecisive about joining a particular Coaching Program, or being in a mastermind. And every day that you sit on this particular decision, the price goes up, or the seats fill up, or all of a sudden, you won't be able to get in because it's not available anymore? Or are you going back and forth between which coach you want to work with, and you're just getting more and more confused? Because you keep thinking, Well, what if this one can offer this? Or that one can offer that? Or perhaps you're, you know, not only feeling this in your business, but you're also feeling it in your life? And it's showing up?

Like, when you think about, you know, what do I want to do for the holidays? Do I want to, you know, go see my family? Do I want to stay where I am? Do I want to be with friends? How much time do I really want to take off, and you're just all over the place. When you lack the courage to make decisions, you will stay stuck, you will stay in the exact same spot you are in, when I think about the fact that I was sitting on this decision to buy the tickets or not. And then here I am with no ticket. Even after months of thinking I had one. It is a reminder to me that when decisions present themselves, it is important to take action right away. And here's the thing, oftentimes, we're intuitively guided, and we know that we are but we still don't take action, which was exactly where I found myself. And when you lack the courage to take action, it actually keeps you in overwhelm. It keeps you in that confused state. And it keeps you like searching and searching and trying to find the next best thing.

Because you feel as though you're always missing out on something. And when this shows up in my life as a pattern, it becomes something that I know that I need to pay attention to. And that is exactly why it was like, it is so important for me to record this podcast episode, because it's something that I'm currently going through. And even like when I take a look at how this is, you know, reflecting in my business, I'm putting off decisions when it comes to my schedule, I'm putting off decisions when it comes to the direction of my business. And because of those indecisions. And because of those lack of action and intentional action, I have felt internally confused, there has been a lot of chaos. And even some days, I feel like I'm just so overwhelmed that I don't want to do anything at all. So I'm going back into the story. So as I sat there was looking for the tickets and of scouring these emails. I thought to myself, You know what, I need to learn how to make decisions, no matter how big or how small right away, no matter the consequences, it is time to show up courageously in every area of my life. And I challenge you to do the same.

I challenge you to start showing up courageously and take action, the moment the moment you feel like the decision has been made. So here are maybe some of the reasons why you are not taking action. The first one is no surprise, it is our need for approval. So whether that is showing up in your business or in your personal life, if you find that you are in constant need for someone else's approval, whether it be your partner, your family members, your coach, your mentor, or even your biz bestie if you are looking for someone's approval, you are either going to make a decision that does not feel aligned with you. Or you may sit on making a decision because you feel like you don't know what that person would really approve of. And would they approve of that decision? Would they approve of you taking that action?

And that will keep you from moving forward? Or maybe you're afraid of how things turn out or that they won't turn out the way you expect them to turn out. You know so often when we are are trying to make decisions, we are not in control of the outcome. So when we are making a decision, we're basically rolling the dice anyways, because we don't know we're not guaranteed any results. But the first step is always making the decision. And the second step is taking action. And the last part is releasing the outcome, which means that we don't really know what's going to happen. So there's a little bit of surrender involved. Okay, there's a lot of surrender involved. The next one is maybe you just have this fear of disappointing someone in your life, maybe you've, you know, really been trying for a long time to make someone happy. Maybe you're in a relationship where, you know, you've spent a lot of money and you're just trying to think, Oh, I just don't want to disappoint them.

Again, I don't want to fail again. And so you have this pressure on yourself to perform a certain way to act a certain way. Because you are in fear of disappointing someone that you care about. Or the fact that maybe it's all going to go wrong, and then what, maybe you're going to have to start over again, maybe you'll have to, you know, do 10 more steps to get back on track. I mean, there is really no guarantee to anything in life. But you're not going to find out what's on the other side of your decision, until you make that decision. And until you take action. And the last one, which is really scary for a lot of people, myself included, is what if I lose out on money? What if I lose out on the time? What if I lose out in relationships? Because I've made this decision? There are so many times where I've hesitated to do things, for fear that I wouldn't have the money, that I wouldn't make the money that I would lose a bunch of time or that I would lose time freedom in my life? Or what if I, you know, don't have that friend anymore? What if that person doesn't like me? What if they reject me, all of these things play into our fears and our hesitations around making decisions and around taking action.

And I know that you have probably bumped up against all of those things, probably multiple times in your life. So I propose that we learn to start taking decisions in a way that really allows us to create momentum, to create freedom, and to create exactly what we desire in our lives. So instead of focusing on what we might miss out on, I want us to take a look at the possibilities of what could happen when things go right. Like perhaps we just learned to discern our own internal guidance. And we know that no matter what, when we're following our intuition, we're always being led in the right direction. So whether or not things turn out or not, we know that we took the step we needed to take, and whatever we're going to learn from the outcome was meant for us. And, hey, no matter what happens, it is for our good versus looking for the approval of someone else. And we really don't know if whether or not we were supposed to gone down that road or not. But we did because we were looking for the approval of someone else. And we had to take three steps back and completely go around the mountain to get right back to where we started. The next one is realize that sometimes things go sideways, no matter how hard we try, and that's just life. And that's okay. Like I said before, there is no guarantee. But when you start to live, like there is no guarantee, then it becomes okay, like, oh, well, this might fail. And then I get up and try again. And then I pivot and then I grow and expand and learn something about myself.

The next one is letting go of other people's expectations for us or of us. We're never going to be able to really live up to them anyways. So what's the point of trying to live up to someone's expectations of us us or for us, then we just need to surrender to the outcome. It's okay. Whatever happens, happens, whatever happens was meant to happen is for our good is for our growth and expansion is going to lead to the next thing that we need. Almost like saying, this is actually how we're meant to live life is by trying, finding out something didn't work exactly as intended. And moving forward anyways. I mean, I don't know about you. But yeah, that sounds like someone who has success in their life. And then the last one is nothing lost, nothing gained.

If we're not willing to try, we will never know the possibilities we will never receive what could be on the other side of our actions. On the other side of just being brave, and taking those courageous steps. And this was a big lesson that I needed to learn when it came to finances. So a few months ago, I was trying to decide whether or not I should invest in a program that would help me with my business finances, even though I knew that it would be beneficial. There was a part of me that was in fear. A part of me, wasn't really sure if I was ready, there was a part of me that wanted to say yes, but I literally hesitated for over a month before I took that step.

And it wasn't because I didn't know what I wanted. Because I actually didn't know what I wanted. It was because I was acting out of an old paradigm, or an old identity, the identity of someone who lacks the confidence to make decisions. So this past week, we were on a call. And spoiler alert, I did sign up. And my money mentor, Vanessa calls us out on her hesitations. And she says, the reason why you're not taking action is not because you don't have clarity. It's because you're operating out of a version of yourself. That as a lack mindset, and that lives in scarcity. And honestly, I just sat there in complete shock, because I was like, You're right. I had to really take that in, in that ask myself, what am I really afraid of? What is the limiting belief that is keeping me from taking action, and even when I know what action I should be taking. And it can come down to all sorts of reasons, all of the forementioned reasons.

And for you, you might be hesitating on doing something taking action, because you're living out of an old identity. You're living out of scarcity out of fear. And for me, it was just needing the approval of the people in my life to take those steps. Even when I know that there is something for me, I have found myself hesitating. And so I was asked myself, well, why? Well, because deep down subconsciously, I have a fear that my decision, the one I'm making is going to be the wrong one. And that is an old paradigm, an old narrative that shows up in my life over and over and over. And it is revealing itself to me so that I can do the work to change it. Now for you, it may look different, it doesn't necessarily have to be approval, it doesn't have to be, you know that you're in fear of scarcity, it could be many different things.

But what I do know is that if you don't identify where that limiting belief is coming from, and then shift the belief, you will continue to operate out of it. You will make decisions out of that belief. And then you will take actions that are in alignment with that belief, or in my case, not take any action at all, which can be the same result. So sometimes it's not just the big decisions that are the hardest Act One. Sometimes it's the small ones, like the example I gave you of buying the ticket or enrolling in a program. It doesn't matter how big or how small the decision is that you make.

It's about being courageous and taking those brave steps and being in intentional about the action you take. So I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you for the next seven days to take action on all the small things in your life. Every little decision that comes your way to make an immediate decision and take action right away and I want to do the same thing. We're going to be courageous decision makers. And in order for me to hold you accountable, and support you in this journey, then I want you to find me on Instagram at at Andrea Chrisp Coach and DM me and let me know that you are committing to taking the next seven days, and being courageous and taking those courageous steps in your life.

And you might be listening to this podcast many, many, many months after I recorded it, it may not be near the time that I have recorded this podcast episode. But that does not matter. Because you are hearing this podcast episode when you need to hear it. So I encourage you to still follow through. DM me, and let me know so that I can support you to take these brave steps in your life. Friend, I know that there is so much more for you. And courage comes through action. So it's time for you to take those brave steps. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

Hey there, welcome to the courage cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I'm so glad that you are joining me today, you are in for a treat, because we're going to be talking about success and what it really takes to be successful in your life. And if this is something that you have felt as though it has been eluding you, then I want to encourage you to press pause on the episode right now, go grab a pen and paper or open up your notes app on your phone and take some notes. Because honestly, I truly, truly believe that if you can start out working these three principles, these three keys in your life, everything in your life will change. And you will start being successful at a whole new level.

There was a time in my life that I absolutely hated, running. Like when I mean hated. I really like had this loathing feeling to running. It felt a bit like the bane of my existence. And it all stems back to when I was in college. I was basically I think, forced into taking a mandatory reading class. And it was something that we all had to take in my college, it was a Christian liberal arts college. And I don't know it sounds super archaic now to think about the fact that we had to take a running class. But we did. And I waited and waited and waited to finally sign up for this class. And it was literally the last thing I wanted to do. Now, I'm not sure if I made it up. I mean, there's been so many years that have passed since then. But I really, this is the excuse I used, I would tell the coach every single day that I'd go into the class that I had shin splints, and this actually got me out of running. So either was the smartest person in the world, or the stupidest depending on how you look at it. Because when the last day of our running class came in the spring of that year, our coach called on everyone to go outside and we were going to run the track. And I remember thinking to myself, like well, I probably shouldn't be running the track, considering you've had me on the stationary bike this entire time, because I had shin splints.

But I ended up having to run alongside every other person in the class, who had been preparing for an entire semester for this running test. Now I've blocked out a lot of it, I have no idea how many kilometers or miles we even ran. But honestly, it was the worst experience. So here we were standing at the track, we were put into pairs I was paired up, surprisingly, one of the fastest and best male runners in the class. So we were going to be tallying everyone's laps as they ran. So I had him and I would count how many laps he had. And basically what we were doing is you know, we were cheering that person on. So of course he ran his, you know, time it was so fantastic. Everybody was cheering him on at the end. And then it came time for the girls to start at the starting line. And the first little bit seemed fine. It's like anything right? You start running and you're like yeah, okay, I can do this. But then as I got through like basically to the end of like lap one. I was dying like my legs were cramping. My heart and my chest like they felt like they were going to like, just completely burn up and explode. And I was so dry, like, my mouth was so dry, I could barely even swallow.

And so what we were doing is as we would lap through, we would give popsicle sticks to our partner. And that was the way to count how many laps that person had left, which I mean is crazy, because they didn't want anyone to cheat. So they use popsicle sticks. And as I started, you know, basically to get worse and worse with the running. My partner would run alongside of me when I would go by him on the side of the track. And he would encourage me, he helped me keep going. And then as we got closer to the end of my time, he was literally running the entire way around with me, just to keep me motivated. And just to keep me going. And when I finally crossed the finish line, I literally collapsed to the ground. And I remember laying there like I thought I was literally going to die like the coach was telling me to get up and walk around and I was like, get up, walk around. What do you what are you kidding me like I can barely I'm like, I'm barely breathing, let alone walk around. And as I lay there on the ground in the grass, I made up my mind, I would never, I mean, I would never run again. I was not a runner. I had never been meant to be a runner. And I would never, in my lifetime ever run again. And the reason why I tell you this story is because literally almost two decades later, I found myself living by that narrative that I was not a runner. It was part of who I was, I had taken on the identity of someone who really never ran.

And I would joke about I only run unless I'm chased. And honestly, it was something in my life that I lived and breathed by. And I would brag even that I wasn't a runner, I created an entire narrative and entire identity around how bad of a runner I was. And that kind of stayed with me up until I was probably about 38 years old. I'm thinking it was 38. Now when I look back, but when I was 38, I was working at a church. And I was working with some of the younger staff and we were talking one day. And they were talking about training for a particular race. And one of the girls had been running for some time. And she had just completed a race in Toronto, and she was going to prepare for another one. And she said to me, why don't you train with me? And I was like, you've got to be kidding me. You must not know. I am not a runner. So I went into the whole spiel of what this all entailed. And for some reason, Michelle convinced me to try. So I don't know what she did. That made me even think it was possible. But I actually decided that I would start training for a race.

And I was thinking probably I should do a 5k first that was like my my first gut instinct, because obviously that's what people do is a 5k. And she encouraged me she's like, You know what, I would go bigger than that I would go right to a 10k. So, before I knew it, I was signed up for a 10k it was the zoo run in Toronto, and I basically needed to start training right away. So this podcast title today is basically titled How you think, feel and act will determine how successful you become. And the reason why I'm relating this story about running to this particular topic is because this is something in my own life, an example a real example in my own life, where I saw this completely change in my life and I'm going to share with you how that change and what manifested within my life.

But it all started when I started to realize that my thoughts have power and everything that I really had believed about myself whether that was relationally physically, business Spiritual, financial, anything, anything and everything all stemmed from what I thought. So I started to recognize where my thoughts were coming into play here, I started to really become more aware of what I was thinking all the time, this is something that I'm doing on a regular basis, this is something that I even work with my clients with, is becoming aware of what are we thinking, because our thoughts are really so powerful, that we can think ourselves into an entire story, or perception about something in our lives. And everything that has manifested within your life up until this point, has stemmed from what you think and feel, and the action you take to manifest it, whether it be good or bad. So for me, it was thoughts like I'm not smart. And that one came from a narrative in high school where I just consistently failed grade 10 math over and over and over again, then, of course, I will be the last of my friends to get married.

This is also something that manifested in high school because I remember thinking to myself, all my friends always have boyfriends, and they always easily get dates. And I had this whole story wrapped around how I had a hard time dating, and I would be the last person to get married. And sure enough, here I am. 48 years old, never been married. Okay. So if you don't think there are power in your thoughts, let me tell you right here and right now, there are significant power in your thoughts. So you may think to yourself, well, Andrea, like, if there's so much power in your thoughts, and why haven't you changed your thought patterns around getting married, I have to honestly say to you, this is something that I'm actively working on. And I know that has taken me a long time to get to where I am today. And I have to undo and reframe, though thought those thoughts in my own life.

Another one was, you know, when I became an entrepreneur was I will never have a successful online business. And that was a story that I told myself, when I started seeing everyone around me that was starting their businesses start to succeed, and I wasn't succeeding as fast. So I developed a whole narrative, a whole story around that, and what that looked like for me, and all of these thoughts, every one of those thoughts, and many more that I've had to work with, I've had to deal with, I've had to uproot in my life, I've had to reframe, were really about me not being smart enough, not being able to be in relationships, not being able to be successful, not being able to be financially stable. And those thoughts, those thoughts, all culminating together, became my identity, who I was identifying as, and I literally had taken on the identity of someone who was not smart, was not marriage material was never going to be fine, financially successful, just like I had taken on the identity of not being a runner. And so wasn't until I really started doing this in depth, the work, the mindset work, to learn that we have the power to shift and change how we think, how we feel, and how we act.

And when I started to understand this principle, when I started to live this principle out in my life, and started to see that things were shifting in my life, I was shifting beliefs. And I was shifting the identity of who I had made myself be. And no, I read the book, I think it's called unbecoming it's Glennon Doyle. And this was years ago. And I remember thinking like, wow, like, Isn't this so much the truth because, you know, we spend a majority of our lives trying to become something. And then we have this like epiphany, and something happened in our lives, where we're like, we're gonna burn it all down. And Glen and Doyle talks about, unbecoming who we thought we needed to be. And for me, and becoming, was really about unraveling these beliefs, unraveling this identity and letting go of what I thought I was, and who I thought I was.

So just the other day, I was chatting on Voxer in Voxer, for those of you who don't know, is a text app and this is something that I use with my coaching clients, and we text and audio back and forth throughout the month and they can ask questions, we can talk about some of the limiting beliefs in their lives, I can give them real time answers and ask questions to help keep them moving forward. This is like a very, very powerful way to integrate these new thoughts in our lives. So on Voxer, I was chatting with one of my clients, and one of one of these things came up for her specifically. And I started to share with her how you think you feel an act are all going to be how you are going to shift your identity. But when you become aware of what those thoughts are, or when you become aware of the prevailing feelings or emotions that are present in your life, or the actions you're taking, that are in like hustle, or they're in inaction, you know, either one, that is really going to be telling of where you are now, and really how you can shift it to move forward.

And so as we were talking through Voxer, I was encouraging her to really start to shift her identity around who she is becoming. And we had already done the process of the unbecoming, which is identifying the limiting beliefs, which is really getting clear on where did that root in her life? And how do we start moving that forward? Now, I want to go back to this example of running, okay, so, as I mentioned, like, you already you already know, you already know, I, I had this belief, I had this identity, I was living out of the identity that I was not a good runner. And I basically had proof that I wasn't because obviously, I had failed or an in class lay laying on the grass, you know, thinking I was going to die. And identifying where that belief originated for me was step number one. So here it was 38 years old, and fast forwarding to when Michelle has asked me to sign up for this race. So we've signed up for the zoo run. And I'm going to start running and training for a 10 gay. And here I am, I'm going to go to the gym. And I'm going to start on the treadmill, because that's basically all I really knew. And it was still spring and so still pretty wet and cold outside. But if I had allowed for that old story in that old narrative to keep me where I was, in the past, I would never have even allowed myself to start.

But I was starting to uproot this belief and this story, this narrative around who I was as a runner, and I had to start applying these principles to my life, I had to think as a runner. So before I even lace up my shoes and went to the gym, I literally had to believe that I am a runner. Now this didn't start right away. Like this is something I had to kind of ease into. Thankfully, I had friends who were training with me, and we were checking in with each other, and we're watching each other's progress. And I didn't feel judged, I didn't feel shamed. I just kind of felt like you know what I I'll do what I need to do. And I literally remember running for my first consecutive five minutes on the treadmill. And it wasn't very fast.

But I made it through five minutes. And I was looking at the clock on the treadmill. And I remember going back to my condo and talking to my brother and telling him that I'd run for five minutes and how excited I was. And here's the kicker, my brother in high school, long distance runner, I kid you not. So I mean, is that not irony or what? So he was so proud of me. And he's like, good job, Andrew. And so he funny for him, because he's always had the identity of being a runner, even since he was a kid, and I did not have the identity of something else. Now, as I was like learning to think like a runner, then the next stage of it was starting to feel starting to embody what it would be to be a runner. And for me, this was all about having some sort of an emotional connection around the belief that I could be a runner. And as I continued my training, I would go through these highs and lows of being a runner. And you know, some days I was really sore. And some days I felt really good. And some days I didn't. But I was deeply, deeply connected with this vision and belief of myself running. And before I was ever running the 10k which I honestly never did until the day, I think two days before I was going to run.

I never had actually run 10 kilometers, but I had to envision myself doing it and see myself at the finish line like I had to endure Vision, I had to feel it in my body, I had to emotionally connect with it. And even when I talk about that with my clients now about how that that plays out in their lives, how are they feeling, and connecting with the vision for their lives and the vision for what they desire in their lives, it really is about deeply being connected to the outcome in a way that they can actually envision it happening. And so it's holding the belief as though it is already done. And then the third stage of this principle is really taking action. And so this is not necessarily just going into like hustle culture and hustle, you know, for your worth, or hustle and get all the things done. It's about being super, super intentional with your action. And when I was in the process of training, I remember one particular day I was running outside and I was coming to the end of my run.

And I must have been going like, I must have looked like I was dying because honestly the guy that was coming towards me, he he was like, you know, running full speed. And he literally put his hand out to High five me when he ran by. And as we like connected our palms to one another. I was like, literally infused with something that was like felt like otherworldly to me, I felt like it could do absolutely anything. Because I had embodied this version of myself, that was a runner. And it was almost as though he was allowing me to be part of this, this group of runners like he was say you're a runner. And, and I think that was the thing, like, as I've learned more and more about running culture, and as I learned about, you know what that feels like, it's like, you're a runner, even if you don't run, like you're a runner, if you've run five minutes, 10 minutes, five hours, I don't want to definitely do that. But, I mean, who knows, maybe someday. But here's the thing. As I was doing that, as I was thinking and feeling and acting like a runner, I literally had this moment where I was like, You know what I need to go out and I need to just buy myself some new gear. So when bought some new running shoes, I went and got some, you know, new Lululemon pants and like, just this whole outfit. And first it was like something that I was going to do as a reward to reaching a certain milestone.

But I honestly started to realize that this is not just a reward, like getting something new is not a reward. It's actually embodying and so often people talk about, like, get yourself something as a reward, and you're gonna look forward to it. And I say, you know, what, what about if you get it at the beginning, and start embodying that version of yourself now, like be her right now. So not only was I starting to dress like a runner, but I warmed up and I cooled down like a runner, and I had a playlist on my phone, I was literally a runner, even if I had the probably the slowest time on Face the earth. And it was a far cry from being in college like I kid you not. But when we learn to think, as what we desire, we take on the identity of what we desire. So whether that be success in our business, whether that be attracting a relationship clients, with that just is really about being confident in who you are. When you think as though you are that is actually coming to you. And the next step is feeling is really connecting emotionally to that outcome, connecting emotionally to who you are becoming in that, and allowing ourselves to envision ourselves in the outcome and being fully immersed in the emotions in the process. And then of course, acting as though we are in alignment with the outcome that we desire. It's taking that aligned action, it's about really discerning and being quick to decide on things that are full body Yes.

And like yes, I'm going to do that and I'm going to totally step out of my comfort zone and make that happen. So wherever you find yourself on this journey, when it comes to your mindset when it comes to really stepping into that next level version of yourself is always going to be necessary for you to think and feel and act as though it has all ready happened. So I was 38 when I ran my first 10k and since then I have run several races since and I even ran 10k on my 45th birthday, which was about three years ago. And honestly, I think back to my very first zoo run re so I was If Michelle and Peter and we had some other friends there, and my parents showed up, my dad, who was 65, at the time, even signed up for a 5k race, and he ran the 5k, while I ran the 10k. And while Michelle and Peter ran the 10k, and honestly, it was like one of the most monumental days of my life, it was a pivotal day, in who I am. And just last week, I was thinking about where I'm at with my body. And you know, just things that I've been going through physically and in through this year. And just like feeling like everything in my body is changing and shifting, and I feel I feel out of control of sometimes I really just do. And so I made this decision, that I am in a place in my life right now, where I, I really, truly want to embody the next version of myself when it comes to my health.

And when it comes to my fitness. And so I don't want to be a woman in her 40s, late 40s at that who's overweight, tired, moderately active, like that is not who I want to be. So I made a decision, then to start running again. I made the decision to embody this next version of myself in my fitness and in my health. And as I started doing that, I started going back to these principles, how do I want to think about me as a runner? How do I want to feel? And how do I want to act? And it's so surprising to me, because already it's almost like as though I'm infused with this running vibe, like your runner, Andrea. And the day I decided, I went to the gym, I got on the treadmill, and I ran my first five minutes. And you may say, well, it's only five minutes. And I'm like, No, I remember the first time I ran five minutes and how proud of myself I was. Because I had started, I had begun the process. And so even if it was painful, and it was, you know, like, I felt like my legs were burning. And they were, I ran my first five minutes. And I am embodying this next level version of myself by thinking feeling and acting as though I am her now. So my friend, I encourage you whatever goal you have, whether it's a goal that is going to complete out the year, or it's to start thinking about what's coming. If you truly want to be successful in any area of your life, any doesn't matter if it's relationships, business, health, fitness, whatever it is. It really is all about how you think, how you feel, and how you act and really stepping into the identity of the person who has already manifested that reality. And if you're thinking to yourself, Andrea, I want to do that that's exactly what I want to do. I want to shift something in my life and I am ready to take that step. Hey there, welcome to the Courage Cast, I am so glad that you are joining me today. My name is Andrea, I am your host. And today we're going to talk about something and honestly, I hope that this challenges you to step out of the way you are normally doing things and embrace something brand new. And so today I want to talk to you about creating more space in your life for abundance. And when we're talking about abundance, that can mean anything, it can mean better health, more income, wealth, better relationships, healthier relationships, however you define abundance. That is what I would love you to listen to this podcast through that lens. How do you create more space in your life for abundance? Now this has been coming up over and over and over again, in my life. And of course, you know, I always talk about things that are happening currently, things that I'm going through.

And usually it's not that far beyond when I'm actually recording the podcast. But this has been coming up with a client and we've been talking about it. And so it's something top of mind for me, because, you know, I struggle with wanting to control things, I struggle with wanting to have things a certain way to have an outcome that is what I anticipate that it should be. And just like everyone else, I'm in the process of also creating more space in my life. So if you are someone who struggles with control, or wants things to be a certain way, then this is an episode that I really encourage you to listen to with an open mind. Now, I want to ask you a question, because we always start with some questions. Are you currently in a place in your life where you feel like you're holding really, really, really tightly to the need of something happening by certain date? Like you have a timeframe or a time limit on something?

Maybe you've set goals in your business? Maybe it's something that you really want to achieve? Or you have a certain timeframe that you want something to manifest within? Are you currently holding on to the need for something to happen by certain time? Or are you finding yourself wanting to make an exact dollar amount, like you have it down to the dollars and cents, you know exactly when it's supposed to happen. And you have like that number on lock. Or maybe you find yourself in a relationship quandary. Maybe you are calling in a partner you're calling in someone to share your life with but you have these really, really strict qualifications or standards this person needs to meet or requirements. And you are just like, you've got it all written down. You know exactly what you want. You're like, Okay, I'm going to manifest this, I'm going to tell the universe exactly what I want. And this is what I want. No more, no less.

Now, if that is you if you find yourself in one of those three positions, and trust me when I say there are many, many, many more. You might actually be keeping yourself from calling in abundance in that area. Mm hmm. Right now but when I first started learning about manifestation, and I was doing mindset work myself, I was learning all sorts of things about like, what is manifestation? And how does it work in my life. And you know that I have had many different podcast episodes on manifestation here on the courage cast. But, you know, as I have moved, I've been moving through it in my own life, one of the things that I have been recognizing, when it comes to creating a life that I truly desire, and that I want to live, is that the more specific I am, and the more control I am trying to have over the outcome of something, the more I call in what I don't want, the very thing that I don't want, I'm actually calling in, or I'm repelling what it is that I truly do desire.

And this has happened to me in so many areas of my life, I can honestly like, I can pretty much say probably every area, it's happened to me when it comes to my financial life, my relationships, my business, you name it, because I've always been somebody who has been pretty specific in what I want, like, I know what I want, and I want what I want, if you're like that type of person, but like, ever since I was even a kid, like for my birthday, I know exactly the gift that I want. And if somebody's gonna give me something that's not going to be what it is, and I'm kind of like, wow, you know, thanks. but no thanks. I just know exactly what I want.

Like, if I want to buy a certain kind of makeup, I want that kind of makeup or face creams, I want that thing. If it's like a color or have something of clothing that I want or a pair of shoes, I only want the certain thing that I know that I want. And I feel like it's a trait in me that is very decisive. And I know exactly what it is that I like and what it is that I don't like. But in some instances, that actually is working against me. And the reason why is because we all have a limited, limited scope of what we think is possible. Even if we feel like oh, anything's possible for our lives. And, you know, I'm so open minded. And I truly, truly believe anything's possible, really, you probably don't, you probably have a cap somewhere on what you feel like is possible for you, and what is possible for your life because we all have what is called an upper limit. And so when you hit that upper limit, you think that is as far as I can go. And that is as far as I can see. And everything else has to happen, you know, within that, basically within that confines. So in order for you to truly move and transcend through that upper limit, and start calling in what it is that you truly desire, you're going to have to let go of a little bit of what you think is required for you to get there, or required for the universe to deliver, or the exact timing on things on how things are going to transpire in your life.

And I wanted to share with you three reasons why you actually may be creating more lack in your life right now. So when I say lack, again, this can be when you think about abundance, it can be it's the thing you don't want when it comes to like your health, your relationships, your finances, your business, all of those things, right? So here's top three reasons why you actually may be creating more lack in your life. Number one, your fixation is actually telling the universe that you want more of the same. So when you're fixated on something, you are fixated, generally speaking on what it is that you want. But when it's not happening, then our attention goes to what it is that we are not getting, right, the lack of it. And you end up fixating on the fact that you haven't gotten it. And the more you fixate on it. The more you think about it, the more you put your attention on it, the more you call in the lack of it. So you might be thinking, oh my gosh, like I'm totally thinking that I'm fixating on what it is that I want. But if you're really honest with yourself, think about really what you're thinking about. Are you thinking about the design and how you gonna feel when you have it? Or are you thinking about, Oh, I haven't had it yet. I wonder when it's going to come? Oh, no, like, it just hasn't happened yet it hasn't manifested. And yet the feeling is a very, very different, right between that, and the feeling of like, oh, this is gonna be amazing.

And I feel so good. It's almost like a habit already. And it's so exciting to very different places, very different emotions. And when you are in the lack of something, you are creating a frequency of vibration, which is calling in more of the same more lack. However, when you're in the frequency of abundance, and feeling what it's going to feel like when you have it, you're actually position yourself to receive it.

The second reason, your attachment to the outcome is actually not allowing for things to unfold organically, or in a way that the universe God source can surprise and delight you. So, this, my friend, is me to a tee when it comes to gifts. Okay, so I told you, I want what I want, right? And so if I don't get what I want, it's like, it's almost like I just don't enjoy it. Like it's like, Oh, right. And I've actually been thinking about this quite a bit in my own life, about how, when I am too attached to what I think the outcome should be, I'm actually not creating space for miracles, I'm not creating space for magic, I'm not creating space for these really incredible spontaneous events to happen, because I'm so attached to how things should go, that I'm not making room, I'm not creating room for there to be something that would come in and be like, Wow, this is even better than what I thought.

Because, again, back to our limited scope. When you have only your own purview, you're only seeing what you can see, you can't see beyond what you know. And so if the universe gods or desires to give you something greater, even more expansive, and you're like, oh, I can only see within this like scope, then you're actually limiting yourself to what is possible in your own mind, not what is possible when it comes to the universe. And so your attachment to that is keeping you from being open to the possibility of what God universe source desires to delight you with. And the third thing is your need for control is actually pushing away what you desire. For years, I've been a complete control freak. I like to control how things happen when things happen, or how things look in my business.

Like down to the typography down to the fonts, like little little crazy details, almost of the probably to the fact that it's like, oh my gosh, this is like being neurotic. And when I think about how many things I've probably not been able to receive into my life, because of my need to control something, it actually blows my mind. And the more I relinquish the control, the more I let go of my need to have everything a certain way all the time, I am finding that there is more beauty, there is more ebb and flow there is, you know, definitely a higher awareness to what is possible in the world, and how I can step into that. But my own need to control how things are happening is an indication that, you know, I don't trust that God, the universe, desire to give me anything good.

And so it's really been something that I've had to work on for myself to let go of my own need to control like, I'm the only one who can dictate how this is going to happen, when it's going to happen. And all of those things. And let me tell you, it's one of those things that when you start doing it is not easy. It's it's actually a little bit sobering when you think about how you have to let go of your own need to control absolutely everything in your own life. And so instead of like being fixated on, you know what you want or being attached to the outcome or really trying to control all of it. I want to encourage you to start focusing on creating more room more space, okay in your life. So that can look like creating a more time for things you enjoy. Like it could be taking walks in nature could be taking up a hobby, going to show like some something you really enjoy traveling more, creating more room for time with your family. However that looks for you people that you love, like just inviting them into that space, creating more space, more quiet, more stillness, whatever that looks like for you start focusing on creating more of that.

And the reason why that is so important is because the more space you create, it's almost like you're saying to the universe, alright, I'm open. I'm open to receiving through any way. I'm open to receiving. When I'm in, in a conversation with someone I love, I'm open to receiving when I'm out in nature, I'm open to receiving. When I'm, you know, driving somewhere, or taking a road trip, you create this expansiveness within your life, because you are focusing on creating more room to receive what it is that you want, versus being like so fixated on getting things done, and making things making shit happen. I think that's really what I wanted to say making should happen. So really, it's like this huge shift, huge paradigm shift. Now, I'm not saying that you don't work. And I'm not saying that you don't do things. And I'm not saying that you don't have goals.

I mean, all those things are awesome and are going to help you move your business forward. But to the extent where you are not allowing for things to manifest and happen in your life, it really has to have some sort of a balance. So creating room allows for you to be able to then get like the flow, and have ideas and downloads, so that you can take action that is aligned to where you really want to go and expedite those things, versus hustling it out, grinding it out, making it happen. The next thing is start envisioning yourself with your desires, and be in the emotion be in the feeling of it as though they are currently happening. This is something that I've been doing a lot when I go skating.

I love skating, I go to the rain on Fridays, and I put my music on. And because of like just be gliding around the eyes, it just feels so freeing, and there's just such such a joy that happens. So that's a really great time for me to be visioning things that I really desire in my life because I'm in the energy of what I love. I'm doing something I already love. And I'm already good at and and I'm already having this joy. And so when I am also visioning for things in my life, I'm in that energy already. And now I'm thinking about the thing that I desire, versus being in the lack energy, where it's like, oh, that hasn't happened, and why isn't it happened and I'm so discouraged and frustrated. And then you're in this like energy that goes down, down, down, down, down until finally, you're like, I'm never gonna call this in. I was will just give it up. You know, and you just get so discouraged that you completely give up anyways. And of course, what happens is you call in more of that, right? And the third thing is be okay with things transpiring out side of your comfort zone.

We all have a comfort zone, an area in which we're like, yep, things can happen in and around this. Yeah, I'm good with that. I'm okay, up until this point, and everything that's within that comfort zone that range that area, you're like, I welcome that. I love that. But anything outside of it, you're like, Nope, don't want anything to do with it.

Because when things are outside of our comfort zone, we can control everything, every single detail, we are not the person who is in charge, we are not totally aware of what can happen next, right. So in order to create that room to call in more abundance within your life, you are going to have to be okay with things happening outside of your comfort zone. So, if you find yourself currently right now within your life and your business, feeling like you're stuck and stagnant in some area and you know exactly what you want, you could tell me, like, this is exactly what I'm calling in, this is exactly what I need, this is exactly what I want, I'm super, super clear on that, I want to, I want to encourage you, that you might be holding on too tightly. And that you might want to revisit the timing, you might want to revisit the number you want, you might want to revisit the requirements, and start creating more room, more space, more breath, for God universe to co create with you something that is so magnificent, that is so wonderful, that is actually going to be even better than what you could have imagined what you could have jumped up, and so far beyond maybe even what you feel like you're capable of currently, right.

And I want to encourage you to do that this is something that I am putting in place in my own life, I am encouraging my clients to do the same thing. And I encourage you to do that. So maybe there's one area right now that you're like, okay, yeah, that's where I want to, I want to start looking at creating more room when it comes to like time or money or requirements, and really just creating that space in your life. Friend, if you are struggling with this, and you're like oh my gosh, Andrea, you are talking to me when it comes to being fixated. And you know that you really do have some subconscious beliefs that are holding you back, it could be that all you need is one shift, something that is really going to take you from where you are right now fixated on something specific on an outcome in order to release that, and start to live out of a whole new mindset, a whole new paradigm.

And I'm offering power hours, it's a one hour session, it's actually just a little bit over an hour, 75 minutes, in which we will work on identifying what is the limiting belief that you have, where is rooted, and actually release that belief, so that you can start living out of a new mindset. And then if you are really, really wanting to take it to the next level, I'll invite you to join me for a 30 day Voxer support. And we'll integrate that new belief together. This is literally transforming my clients lives. Right now. This is something new that I've started to offer. And honestly, it is a huge game changer because I'll walk you through the process. And we will see the shifts happen within 30 days in your life.

So this sounds like something you're interested in. I encourage you to go to my website, Andrea crisp.ca forward slash schedule, and the link will be in the show notes. And you can jump on a call with me ask me questions, or you can just book your session right away either one. But let's create room. Let's create space for magnificence for something so incredibly powerful and special to happen in your life. Or a friend. Thanks for hanging out with me. Love you so much. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.
