You know, starting a business feels a lot like that it feels like we're holding on for dear life. And today on the podcast, we're going to talk about what that looks like when we get off that ride once and for all. Because we recognize that what we need is not on the ride. It's what we have on stable ground.

Andrea Crisp 0:59
Hey, friend, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea, I am so glad that you are here today. You know, I have been thinking a lot about what it's like when we are living in a mindset of scarcity. And so often we think about that in terms of money. You know, when we talk about abundance, we think about living abundantly We think immediately of our finances. And although I do talk a lot about finances here on the show, I also feel like there is so much more to living in an abundant mindset when it comes to our lives personally when it comes to our lives, professionally, in basically all the ways.

And so today, I want to talk about something that I feel like we don't talk about enough. And that is that you already have everything you need right now. Which means basically, you could turn off the podcast, because you already have everything you need. But unfortunately, what happens to most of us is that we're not accessing that part of ourselves. Instead, we're living in these old programs. And we are rehearsing these old narratives, these old stories, things from our past, maybe from childhood, maybe something that someone has said to us over the course of our lives.

And we're living out of those old stories. And it really stops us from living out of a place of abundance, out of a place where we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have everything we need right now. And that you have everything you need right now.

Well, this became really clear to me when I started coaching, and I don't know that I recognize this prior to that, because I think I was just living more out of effect in my life. At that point, I was kind of living in a place where I thought things were happening to me. And you know, I was not in control of my life. I was not in control of my destiny. And even though I felt very purposeful in things that I did, I really felt as though I was kind of a victim to my life. While that has changed. I don't live like that anymore.

But it really took me being in this industry in the coaching space to recognize so much more about how I was living at a place where I was not accessing the best parts of myself, the most authentic parts of myself, the parts of me that were secure and safe and able to empower others. And I think that oftentimes when we start businesses, and when we get into this online industry, we think oh, yeah, like, you know what, it's going to be really easy. I'm going to just be able to make money really quickly. And things are just going to, you know, fly off the charts.

Because a lot of people on social media are actually talking about their lifestyle and how Of course, you know how easy it was for them. Which in reality, it's not, it's really not as easy as people make it seem that's just more of you know, smoke and mirrors for you to buy into the things that they're selling. But when I first started in the coaching space, I thought things were going to be easy. Like I had like rose colored glasses on I was thinking oh my gosh, this is going to be amazing. I've always wanted to be a coach and I got my certification. And I remember planning out how many clients I would see week like this is no joke. I literally wrote it down on a piece of paper.

And I was like if I had this many clients a day and then I'd have this many per week and if I charged some amount, I literally calculated hourly how much I would make. And I thought to myself, Wow, this is going to be amazing because I'm going to make more money doing this than I would at my full time job.

And so when I started coaching, and I just immediately thought, that's how it works like, right, you become a coach, or you get into this online space, and then right things just happen. And that's not what happened at all. So here, I was waiting for all the inquiries, just to like start rolling in emails to start popping into my inbox.

Nothing happened, nada. And here, I was thinking to myself, Oh, like, what have I gotten myself into. And that's kind of what I started this down hill spiral. And I was frustrated, I was frustrated and myself, I was, you know, giving into insecurity and getting into frustration. And there was this like, low level anger that I didn't even acknowledge that just kind of was there all of the time.

Because I thought things were going to be so much different. And I was looking for all of this external validation, I was looking for this external help and support in the process. And really, I didn't realize that everything that I needed, I already had. And I doubted myself. And I see so many coaches in this space, who are super qualified, who have, you know, amazing intentions, and really desire to help other people not really thriving, because they are in this place of insecurity, and doubt, maybe because of things that they've seen on social media, maybe because things didn't pan out the way they had originally anticipated. I mean, there's all sorts of reasons. But you might be in a place right now, in your own life. And in your own business, where you're like, I really was hopeful at the beginning. And I thought that I was ready.

And I thought things were going to happen so much differently. And now here I am, doubting myself very frustrated, feeling really insecure about myself. And, you know, when I was starting out, I didn't feel insecure at all at first, until things weren't going well. And then all of a sudden, I was like, Well, this must be me. And I'm, you know, doing things wrong.

And I started to play that game. And I started to, you know, let my inner critic rule my life and be basically, it really exacerbated what was already happening in my world, it just shone a light on it. And it was not something that you know, was created when I became a coach, it was just something that was magnified when I became a coach. And I think that's not often what we are looking at in our lives. But when you're in this space, in this online space, as a coach, as a mentor, in whatever capacity you are functioning as, really everything that you believe to be true about yourself is being magnified. And it comes to light, and it comes out to play. And if it's not really dealt with, then you're going to be struggling to try and figure out what you're going to be doing. Maybe hiring coaches, buying into programs, doing all sorts of things, to help you figure out how to sell more or be more all the things when really, it's an internal problem. It's an internal thing that needs to be worked out and solved.

So when I was in that place, I hired a lot of coaches, I hired a lot of programs, I didn't hire them, I just I bought into them. I mean, I have a list of a litany of things. I bought into things to help me build an email list to create a funnel to name my niche to create memberships to get better at social media, like you name it, I was buying into it. And I have to say like here, there are so many really, really good programs out there. There are so many fabulous coaches that are doing really good work. But if you're not in the right headspace to actually do the work and to hold space for what they're asking you to do, then it's almost like a futile attempt. And if you've ever done that, and you know what I mean? Then you're like, Yep, I totally get it.

Your mindset has to match up with where you're going. And if you don't hold space for that next version, that next level of yourself and of what you're capable of, then you're not going to be able to build a solid foundation for your business, for your coaching for your clients, in any way at all.

Sowhen I was in this place in my life, that's when I kind of, you know, started to see that debt was mounting, I was losing sight of what I truly wanted out of my business, I started doubting my abilities, my ability to coach even because I thought, well, if I'm failing at business, obviously, I'm a terrible coach, which was not true at all. The problem was, is that I had a lot of old negative programming that was just running in the background. And I did not know that I needed to address those mindsets that I that I needed to address those wounds. And I needed to reframe how I was seeing myself seeing others, seeing the potential in my business, seeing who I could be, and realizing that everything that I needed, I already had inside of me, I was just seeing it in a way that was not being helpful in any way, shape, or form.

So I wanted to share with you a few things, three things that I really believe are going to help you when it comes to just really building your mindset in a way that helps you navigate this industry that helps you move forward, that helps you be more confident in your coaching in your business. Because here's what they're not telling you, you are actually your biggest asset. Like you have everything in you right now you can build any kind of business you want. So doesn't really matter what they're telling you out there.

You can build whatever it is that you desire, you can move through fear while you're building a business. So it's not like you have to just stop and just work through mindset, you can actually do it in tandem, you can work in ease and flow and you don't have to hustle for your worth. And you don't have to hustle for clients. And it's not all about like work, work, work, work work, it's really about truly understanding yourself and understanding that you can call in the right clients, and then you can take aligned action to be able to call them in, and you already have everything you need. Right now. It's just a matter of activating it. So this all starts with your mindset.

So let's let's look at it in terms of like building something. So when you're building like a house or any kind of structure, if you're building it on shaky ground, then it's likely that it's not going to hold up, right, it might implode if there's you know, winds, high winds, it's going to be knocked over if you know there's a earthquake, it's going to crumble, if there is a storm, it's going to be washed away. Like I mean, think of all of the you know how we build structures, we have to build them on something that is concrete on some sort of real concrete foundation. And for you in your business, that means that your foundation is going to be built on you. And that all starts with trusting yourself. Trusting that you know that you can do it that you trust that you are capable, that you trust that you are committed to the process.

And that you know that no matter what you're going to figure out what needs to take place. And a lot of coaches lack that like that trust, they think, you know, I just need to do this or I need to hire this out or you know, maybe this person can help me figure this out because they don't really trust their own intuition, or their own decision making, or their own abilities to actually come through for themselves and for their clients. And so that that piece of trust is so so so, so important. Now, the second thing is that if you're building and you're focused on doing too many things at once, like I don't know if you've ever been on a on a job site where there's like, all these contractors are coming in on the same day. They're trying to do too many things at once.

Well, it creates a lot of chaos, and then things don't get done or they have you know, they get done with you know, shoddy you know, basically like shoddy I can't think of the word it's it's escapes me. workmanship, shoddy workmanship.

And all of a sudden, you know, it's just like chaotic. And when you think about your business in and when you're trying to do too many things at once. Like maybe you're launching a podcast while you're building a Facebook out group while you're starting an Instagram while you're trying to get clients, while you're, you know, doing all of these things, you're focused on too many things at one time, and it becomes overwhelming, it becomes chaotic, and you're not really able to pour or invest into something that is going to be lasting. So it's really, really important that, that you are staying committed and focused on building the right foundation, and building things as you go. And as you go, you can increase on those things you can add to, you can you know, start implementing more? I too, you know, I've been doing this podcast for almost five years. But I don't know that launching a podcast, at the time I did in my business was really the wisest decision.

Because I pivoted in my podcast many times, because I was pivoting in my business. So you know, when I think about, you know, when people ask me, like, should I start a podcast? I'm like, Well, do you really know who it is that you are speaking to, because if you're gonna continue to shift who you're speaking to, then what's the point of actually starting a podcast, you know, it's maybe like five steps ahead of where you want to be. So it's really important that you're focusing on what it is that you need right now. And again, that starts with your mindset. So staying committed to what it is that you are building in your business, trust, right, trusting yourself.

The third thing is, when you are on a job site, and you're seeing a building being built, you want to know that the contractors that are working on the project, that they've done this before, they're not like somebody who's literally just, you know, picked up a hammer and started to try and put something together. And so many people in this industry, tout that they are the experts in certain things. And, you know, that may just be good marketing, they might be making money, and they might even have some sort of lavish luxury, luxury lifestyle that seems like it's really bright and shiny. But at the end of the day, where is, you know, where are their results? Where's the value? What are they truly offering you and are they in integrity in their business. And so it's so important that you're getting support from coaches, from mentors, from industry leaders that really are walking in integrity. And there are a lot of them that are many, many, many I have worked with many of them, I see many of them. But it's so important that you are getting the support you need from those who are in integrity in their business.

So just kind of looking back, it's important that you lay the right foundation, that you stay committed to doing that one thing that's gonna move you forward, and that you get the support you need. And here's the thing, friend, like all kind of going back to mindset. This is so important. Because when you are building your business, when you're building your coaching practice, you really have to have the mindset that you already have everything inside of you that you need, you're going to learn and grow as you go, you're going to build the foundation, you're going to stay committed to the process, and you're going to learn and you're going to keep moving forward, and keep elevating to that next level and that next version of yourself, and you're going to do it with people who are supporting you, and really see how you can move forward and help you do that. So I hope that this has really helped you today. I think that you know, so often we're looking for that external validation from others, you know, pointing us in the right direction.

But what we truly need to remember, in this business is that, really, we have to trust ourselves. You already have everything you need right now. You can listen to your intuition and be guided by that. And trust that you know, exactly what is the next step for you? Well, friend, thanks for hanging out with me today. If we've not connected, I would love to connect with you. I'm hosting a free weekly zoom call for coaches and online entrepreneurs. And this is just a real great place to receive support, to network to build community with one another. And there are so many places where we're, you know, not really free to show up as ourselves and be authentic and kind of share what's truly going on. And this is a space for you to do that to do so it's called the mind. It's kind of easy for me to say it's called the mindset mentor circle. And there's a link in the show notes. I'd love to have you it's Wednesdays at 12pm Eastern Standard Time.

All right friends. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Until next time, remember you have everything you need to live bravely.

Andrea 0:48
Hey, friend, welcome to The Corage cast. My name is Andrea, I am your host, I'm also a mindset and confidence coach. And I'm really excited to chat with you today about this topic, because it is something that I have been thinking about. Of course, in my own life, I've been stepping into, I've been working through and as you know, I love to share the things that I have been out working with in my own life. And today talking about embodying the next level. Now, just the other day, I was sitting working, and I got a notification that my Mac air needed to have an upgrade. But here's the thing, it's an older Mac air, it's doesn't have a lot of memory on it. It's full to the brim with stuff. And I can't do any more upgrades, because of the amount of programs that are on my computer. And I can't afford to delete those programs off my computer. But I also can't upgrade those programs either. And I can't upgrade my actual software system, because of the fact that I have too many things running on my computer. And it has been something that I've been thinking about for a while I am constantly like shuffling things around. I'm trying to move things from here to there to hard drives. I just really know that when I'm done with something, I've got to delete it off the computer in order to have more space for something else.

Andrea 2:25
But what it does is it limits me, it limits me from actually producing better content, producing better quality things because I don't have the upgraded software. And I've been thinking about that for some time. What would it look like for me to upgrade and uplevel. And I don't want to just go to like the next version of the Mac air. I'm thinking about going back to a MacBook Pro, and really having the storage and the space and the solutions that I need, which is what I had prior to this computer.

Andrea 3:03
Now the reason why I share this with you is because so often that is where we are living, when it comes to our life and our business, we are running with old programs, we are running without an upgrade, we are running with little space, little capacity for growth. And there is no way to move forward to make traction and create momentum in our lives and in our business because we're running on these old operating systems without the ability to upgrade. Now, there may be an area of your life right now that you can think about that you know, needs an upgrade.

Andrea 3:45
Maybe it's your physical fitness, maybe it is something that comeswith business. It may be it is your relationships, maybe it's community building, perhaps it is creating more wealth, whatever it is, there's probably an area of your life where you're thinking, Oh yeah, that is like the upgrade I need. Well, here's the thing.

Andrea 4:09
We can't upgrade one area without upgrading all of the areas. So think about it. In terms of software. When I lack the ability to upgrade my computer, all of the software on my computer stays the same. Because in order for me to upgrade any one system I have to upgrade the entire system.

Andrea 4:38
And so for you if you want more abundance, or creativity, you want to be able to express yourself your message more confidently. You want to be more impactful or more influential. Be a thought leader. Not only do you have to up grade that area, but you have to to up grade, everything, your entire system has to go to the next level.

Andrea 5:08
Think about that for a moment.

Andrea 5:11
And that may be the reason why you're not taking that step, that you're not actually making the forward movement. Because the price is too high. So I want you to think about that. What would it look like for you to go to the next level, in order for you to take that step,

Andrea 5:36
you have to take a look at where you are right now.

Andrea 5:39
And when I thought about that, for my life, I was taking a look at some of the things in my life, I had, you know, recently felt more overwhelmed with how many things I was doing. And I felt out of alignment in certain areas of my business, I felt like I was, you know, not really fully taking care of my body, I wasn't really getting the sleep I needed, my eating patterns were off. I wasn't building community quite like I wanted to. And so when I started to take a look at everything in my life, I started to realize, Wow, no wonder I'm running at such a low capacity. All of these areas are really suffering. And in order for me to expand, and for me to embody that next version of myself, I really have to become aware of what I want in all those areas of my life. And for me, this expansion really started about a year ago when I joined fast foundations mastermind and I talked a lot about that on the podcast over the past year. Well, I've been out of the mastermind now for a couple of months. And of course, I noticed a huge difference right away as soon as I was done. I mean, I did need a bit of a break. It had been a lot. It was amazing. But I also felt like I kind of, you know, took a little bit of a downward turn when I left fast foundations because I did not have that support system to really up level me the way it had for almost a year.

Andrea 7:08
And so it was time for me to really consider Well, what does that take for me to now shift to that new level that I need in my life and in my business. And one of my friends, and I were talking about doing 75 heart. And if you've not heard of 75 heart, it is a fitness program that is based around doing two workouts a day, which are 45 minutes. Being on a strict eating plan, you have to drink a gallon of water, have no alcohol, read 10 pages of a book. And at the end of it all. You're doing it for 75 days. So I was like okay, yeah, this is something that I can totally commit to. But as I started doing the program, I started realizing that this upgrade that this upper level in my life was not only up leveling, my physical fitness, but it was also my eating, I was getting mental clarity. I was you know, getting more sleep, obviously, because I was more tired from all of the workouts I was doing. And all of a sudden, I started noticing that it was having an impact in all areas of my life, my business, my capacity for, you know, building more community for wanting to build more community. And I started to see that in order for me to really embody that next version of myself that I have to be very aware of where I am now.

Andrea 8:40
So I'm going to ask you a question. Where are you right now when it comes to your life and in your business? Have you been able to identify what comes next for you? Like, do you even know what that gap would be? To go from where you are now to where you want to be? I mean, that's the first step right is to identify what it is that you desire. So when I was first starting 75 hard, I knew that I had an ultimate goal of the amount of weight I wanted to lose. But within the first 75 days, my goal was 20 pounds. And I chose 20 because I felt like that was a safe, healthy amount to lose. But I also felt as though it was a challenge for me to do so. And I had to start to see myself as that person who was 20 pounds less. And what would it take for me to close that gap between where I am now and where I desire to be.

Andrea 9:43
So once you have identified where you're at, then you start to see okay, well what comes next? Where do I want to go? And how am I going to take a step into that next version of myself and then how can I embody that version of myself. And this is where the mindset work came in for me when it came to 75 hard because at first I was doing all the workouts, I was drinking all the water I was eating, you know what I was supposed to be eating, everything was going great. But then I started to plateau. And the reason why I plateaued was because I had not been doing the mindset work required to release the old version of myself, and to really step into that new version of me.

Andrea 10:35
And so I had to start to, you know, see myself as who I was, but also start seeing myself and embodying the version of the woman that I am going to be 20 pounds less, what is she doing? How does she feel about herself? Where is she going, What Is she capable of, at 20 pounds less. And it's not just the the 20 pounds, it's really having achieved the goal, it's having, you know, gotten to that place where she feels more confident, more self assured, and, you know, is excited about buying summer clothes, I mean, all the things, right.

Andrea 11:11
And I think it's really important that we're able to see where we want to go. So let's bring it back to you know, business. Because when I started to shift my business and start to coach coaches, it wasn't a natural transition. At first, I knew that that was something I wanted to do. But I had been coaching women in their purpose, and women who wanted to leave their nine to fives and kind of come into more purposeful career for themselves. But now I was stepping from that into coaching coaches, and I knew that that was where I was supposed to be. But in order for me to actually attract those coaches into my business and into my world, I had to embody that next level version of myself, or else, I would just continue to attract the clients that I had been working with up into that point.

Andrea 12:09
So I had to, first of all, start seeing myself coaching influential coaches, and I had to envision myself, you know, working with them and envision who they were, what kind of characteristics they had I had to start working on myself and up leveling my knowledge base. So for me, that was learning NLP. And it was, you know, really getting a handle on some new coaching certifications, so that I had more tools to be able to help coaches in a better way.

Andrea 12:46
I had to take a look at what I was offering, you know, was that something that they were going to want? Would it resonate with them? Would they want to actually be in those programs, and then I had to start showing up as that influential coach myself. And that is where the mindset piece really, really kicked in for me. So you see that all of this relates to one another, whether it's your physical fitness, whether it is your business, whether it is abundance, wealth, mindset, relationships, that doesn't really matter. But we're always moving forward. And all areas of our lives will move forward as we start to tackle even one. So I have some questions that I want to leave with you today. And I want you to think about Degas, if you're going to step into that next level version of yourself and really, truly embody that version, you have to number one, release, what is holding you back, kind of like the upgrade system, right?

Andrea 13:50
So for me, you know, going through my computer system, like deleting files, deleting pictures, and all sorts of things leaving music, well for you, it's more about, you know, really letting go releasing old thoughts, old ways of being old habits, things that you have been doing, because what you are doing now is not going to get you where you want to go.

Andrea 14:15
And that really requires you to take a look at what is holding you back right now. Are there mindsets holding you back? Are there environmental influences holding you back? What's holding you back, currently keeping you from embodying that next version? Number two, get really, really clear on who you want to become and how you want to make an impact.

Andrea 14:43
Take a look at how would you be thinking, what were you what would you be doing? Who would you be hanging out with? How would you feel about yourself in this new version? Because I would bet money that this new version of or self is more confident and self assured, then the the version of you now, how is the new version of you impacting others in the same way you are now? Or is it at the next level, right. And if we're really clear on what that is, then it's easier for us to get there, then be like, Well, I don't really know, maybe I'll be doing this, maybe I'd be doing that just get super, super clear on what that is. And then of course, number three, take action, you've got to actually do, you've got to do the work, you've got to put action in the embodiment piece. You can't just manifest it into being or think it into being or prayer or hope it or wish it into being. It's so so important that as you get clear on what it is you desire. And as you release those old limiting beliefs and those old patterns that are holding you back, that you start taking action, moving towards where you want to go, and how you can start embodying that next level version.

Unknown Speaker 16:05
Because as you take one step and embody that step, and that version, it just increases and increases and increases, you don't have to jump right straight from where you are now to where you're going. There's going to be incremental shifts along the way, and you're going to be able to move forward as you go. But it is so important that if you really truly want to make an impact, and if you want to start moving forward, as a coach, as an entrepreneur, in your business and in your life, because they both go hand in hand, you're going to have to start embodying that next level version of yourself now.

At one time or another, we face hurt or rejection of some sort. And oftentimes, we take a look at what that looks like within our friendships or our intimate relationships, we don't often look at what that looks like in our peer relationships or our coaching relationships. So today on the podcast, I am talking about how to move through hurt and rejection in our life. And the beauty and growth that comes when we do.

Andrea Crisp 0:56
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast, my name is Andrea Crisp, I'm thrilled that you have joined me today, we're gonna be talking about something that can sometimes feel pretty heavy. But I hope that through the course of this conversation today, that it really helps encourage you, if you have been through something in your life, a hurt or rejection, whether it's in real life, or in the online space.

You know, I started coaching over 10 years ago, and I had my first real hurt as a coach early on, probably within the first year. And I talked about this on a live that I did on Instagram just this week, actually. And if you want to go ahead and listen back to that you can you can find me on Instagram at @andreacrispcoach. But I will give you a little bit of the story. One of my friends was also really interested in coaching. And so she asked me where I had gotten my certification. So I told her where it was because I was raving about my trainer and my coach. And you know, I was super excited to be, you know, starting my coaching career. And this particular friend of mine was like, she was like one of those people who's a boss, like she had been an entrepreneur for years. And she just I don't know how this charisma about her.

Well, anyway, she ended up getting certified. And towards the end of her certification process, she asked if I wanted to be involved in something that she was doing. And I gotta tell you, when she asked me, it really triggered me. And I was like, What do you mean, you want me to be a part of something you're doing? I think because I had gotten certified first. And, you know, I really wanted to be successful first. Let's just real talk, right? And so I ended up, you know, thinking to myself, like no, like, Absolutely not. And I'd ever really told her that. Instead, what I did is I just ghosted her. And for years, I never really talked about what had happened, or why I did what I did. And it wasn't until many, many years later that the situation kind of came to a head. And I'll get to that a little later.

But today, I wanted to talk about what happens when we encounter something in the online space as an entrepreneur or as a coach, that feels really wounding. And I know that we've probably all have been there, whether we've been on one side or another. And so I want to speak a little bit to both, because I think that's, you know, the case for many of us, you know, there are times in our career or times in our lives where we do something, whether unintentionally or inadvertently, that hurts somebody else. Or we're on the receiving end of somebody else being triggered by something that is going on in their own life. And so whether you have been on either side, I think it's really important to take away some really big lessons from these opportunities, because I think these are always opportunities for us to take a look inward to see what's really stopping us what's holding us back from moving forward. Is there an area that we can be growing in? Is there something that you know, is going to help us be a better entrepreneur, a better coach, a better human? Right?

So the very first thing that I want to talk about today is what happens when you are feeling like you have been hurt by somebody else in the coaching industry or, you know, maybe you've hired somebody and they weren't exactly what you hoped they would be and you've spent a lot of money in the process and you're feeling a little bit down and let down by the whole situation. Maybe You are, you know, feeling as though you are duped, you know, you bought into something and they just did not deliver on what they said they were going to deliver, perhaps you bought a course or a program or just you know, something that somebody didn't show up as their best. And you got the brunt of that, and then you felt really hurt? Well, the first thing I want to say is, when stuff like that happens, it really is an invitation to really take a look at what it is that we need to learn about ourselves. Now, oftentimes, we want to make it about that other person, we want to say, well, they were just a bad coach, or they, you know, weren't trustworthy, or they didn't have integrity in the business, or, you know, they were this or that.

And the next thing, and when we do that, what we're actually doing is we are taking away our power and giving it to them. And really just like letting it go saying, I care, go ahead have my power, you know, and trust me what I say, I have been in the position because I have been in the position many times where I felt like I didn't get what I paid for. And I felt really hurt. And some of these people were people who I really, you know, had close relationships with prior to even hiring them.

And for a long time, what I did was I kind of sat in this victim mentality of, you know, this happened to me, and look at how terrible that person is, or, you know, they are out of integrity, or they lack values, or they lack character, whatever, whatever you're, you're going to think about that person. And I did not take the time to look inward at myself, and go, Well, what was really stopping me from getting what I needed out of that time, what was stopping me from reaching a little deeper digging a little deeper into myself to, you know, find out what it is that I need out of this relationship out of this program out of this course.

Why was I not, you know, upfront and forthcoming about what I was feeling or what I needed, or what I felt was lacking. And I'll and oftentimes, when we do that, it really opens up the opportunity for that other person to speak into that, you know, maybe they need to learn something, maybe it's about the growth of both people. But whatever it is, there's always something to learn about ourselves.

Now, I want to tell you another little story about a coach that I had not that long ago. Now, I was getting over some of this hurt that I'm talking about. Gosh, it was taking me for years, like I really, really avoided I pushed it away to the side, and I'm not gonna lie. But I hired a friend of mine who was a confidence coach. And I remember at a certain point, she did something in one of our groups that really triggered me. And I say she did something. But at the end of the day, it's her business and what she did, you know, she was totally entitled to do. But what I did in response to that was I kind of, you know, sent her an email that I really didn't think too much about, and I just kind of shared how I was feeling and blurted it all out there. And she was so gracious and so kind. So she responded back to me. And she said, How about we get on a conversation, a call. And so we ended up talking through what had happened. And I was able to tell her, you know what, hey, listen, I guess there's some wounding in me still, that I haven't really addressed. And, you know, this is really bringing it up, it triggered me and now I have been forced to actually face this hurt that I've already been facing, just wasn't willing to deal with.

And so through the conversation with my coach at that time, she was able to be the person who helped me to move through that. And she didn't do it intentionally to hurt me. It was just something that had happened. And I was triggered by what it was. And it was an opportunity for me to learn more about what I needed in my life, the healing that still needed to be addressed, and to really start to reframe those old stories that I had been playing about the hurt. And I'm so grateful for that opportunity and that she took that time to do that. And to this day, I think it was such an important lesson for me. And I believe even for her because, you know, she told me that there were things that were happening in her own world that it was helpful that I spoke up even if I didn't speak up, probably the best way that I could have You know, there's always a good way in a bad way.

I think I chose Bioware for this one. But anyways, I digress. So number two, when hurt happens in relationships, it makes room for the people in our lives who really, truly need to be there. Like I mentioned in the previous point, this particular coach that was in my life, you know, obviously, she was somebody who I needed. And it helped me to really move through that particular issue. But what else it did for me was it pointed out that I had outgrown our relationship. And so it was time for me to move on.

So when it came time for me to renew that particular coaching relationship, I knew that I needed to go elsewhere, because I had outgrown what we were doing. And it was time for me to move on. And I think so often, we want to be so loyal to people that were willing to, you know, just stay in the relationship or willing to put up with whatever it is that's going on. Because we don't want to cause any waves, we we don't want to hurt them. We don't want to be hurt, we don't want to face any kind of you know, uncomfortability in any kind of the situations. So we just don't say anything, we stay in the relationship. But what hurt does, when it happens, what rejection does is it opens us up to being able to evaluate who needs to be in our lives, and who has, you know, moved on or needs to move on in our lives. And here's the thing about that.

Oftentimes, we want to feel like, okay, I just want to push them to the side. And you know, like, thanks for being here. But you know, I don't need you anymore. And that's not always the case. I think that sometimes when we outgrow people, it's a good thing. We've worked with them for a reason. And now we have grown to maturity, and we're able to move on. And that's okay. And so when we get to that place, you know, when we're working with someone, and we've outgrown them, we have to realize that, you know, we can say thank you so much, this has been amazing. You're amazing. I'm gonna keep referring you to other people that I know, need you. But I feel like I need something different within my life and within my business right now. And similarly, there are times when we're working with clients, that the same thing is happening, like someone is outgrowing us. And, you know, we might be you know, like, well, I'll take it personally, like, does that person, you know, did I do enough for them, you know, was I showing up the way I needed to show up as a coach for them. And so often we take things way, way, way too, personally, we have to realize that yeah, it's okay when people outgrow us, and it's okay, when we outgrow others, it just makes room for the people who need to be in our lives. And the universe always delivers that next person. And point number three, it shines a light on areas of growth that we need to be focused on within our lives. And that is the biggest thing, you know, you could be in any kind of relationship and when things go south, and things are really not working out the way you had hoped they would work out. That is an opportunity for you to take a look at how you can grow in your own life. Is there an area that you've been neglecting? Is there something that you have kind of been pushing to the side that you can start seeing as a potential area for you to move through and mature in and start to gain traction and momentum in your life through growth. And that happened to me not that long ago, when I was in a pure relationship with somebody. And I realized that, you know, through, you know, some conversations that we had, like things just weren't gelling anymore. And, you know, I was like, Oh, I don't know how to handle this. And I was like, you know, what, what do I do next. But what it revealed to me was that there was an area of growth that I needed to grow in, in my life, and she could not hold space for me in that area. And I needed somebody who could hold space for me in that area. So I was able to get the attention and get the help and support that I needed from somebody who had already been through that. And who had already achieved the things that I wanted to achieve in my own life. So sometimes those you know, uncomfortable situations really give us an opportunity to see where we can grow in our lives and in our business. So, okay, those three things, teaches you more about yourself. makes room for who needs to be there and shines a light on an area of growth that you might need to work on. So what do we do? Once this has happened, right?

Well, here's two things that I want to suggest to you that will help you as you're moving through periods of hurt or rejection within your life, especially when it comes to peer relationships within your business. So the very first thing is you want to release them graciously. And one of the things that I have started to doing and I absolutely love this, I do this now, with my client calls, I do this so many times in my week, and it's just really become a practice for me that it feels so good. And it's an energy clearing. So we want to release them energetically, because we want to allow them to be able to move on as well. So what I do is I use the whole upon upon a prayer, and that's a Hawaiian prayer of forgiveness. And it is just such a beautiful practice. There's meditations that you can find on this, but it's really very simple.

So the first thing is, is you just say, I love you. And you allow yourself to truly, truly get those feelings of love towards that person and project that towards that individual. And then the second thing is, you say, I forgive you. And oftentimes, like, it's not something you're bringing up that, you know, you particularly want to forgive them about, but just like forgiving them for maybe you know, what it's caused in your life. And then the third is, I'm sorry, so you're kind of turning that back around on you and saying, all right now I'm sorry, for what I might have done, that would have, you know, wounded you or cause you to not be in, in full alignment with who you're created to be.

And then the fourth thing is, I release you. And this is something that I do with my students with my clients. And it really, really helps me to release energetically, anything that is lingering, so that I can make space for what it is that I do desire, my life, those people that I want to be in that space. And then following that, I would say, it is so important that you focus on what it is that you do desire within your life. Because when you're focused on the hurt, when you're focused on you know, how wounded you feel about a particular situation, or the loss of a friend, what you're doing is you're energetically attracting more of that into your life. So it's so important that you go through this releasing process that you go through, you know, asking yourself these questions, you know, how am I being taught about this? How, what is there for me to learn out of this particular situation? Who needs to be in my life? And how can I grow. And those questions will really help you to start moving through some of the hurt and rejection or even just really uncomfortable relationships that you might have found yourself in. And then when you really do know what it is that you desire, you can start focusing on that, on creating those relationships on attracting them into your life. And here's the beauty of this, we're talking about hurt. But in so many ways we can be talking about anything else in our lives. When we focus on what we desire, we attract more of that into our lives. So at the beginning of the podcast, I told you about this, you know, a situation that I had been in with a friend years and years ago. Well, as it turns out, we had both been invited to be on a radio show for a mutual friend. And so we showed up at the radio station. And we were sitting in the waiting room, just the two of us waiting to go in to the show. I was going to be interviewed first and she was second. And it was so funny, because here we were, hadn't really, really spoken in years. But we had been brought together by a group of mutual friends. And I just had the conversation with her. I brought it up and I just said, Hey, listen, I need to apologize. And I need to really just tell you, I'm sorry. Like at that time of my life. I was insecure. I wasn't sure what I was doing. And you know, I didn't handle the situation well at all. I should have handled it much better. And through that conversation again. She was super gracious and we were able to you know, have resolved in the relationship. And to this day, we are friends. And that's the beauty of being able to really work through hurt and rejection and uncomfortable situations, in peer relationships in our lives.

Oftentimes, it takes a little bit of humility in order For us to do the right thing. But at the end of the day, there is so much that can be learned. And generally speaking, it's about us. Alrighty, I hope this is helping you if you're going through something in your own life that you can start to move through that. I love to chat with you, if you are having difficulty doing that, or you're just really feeling really triggered. There's things in your past that are still holding you back. And you're just really wanting to release those things. I'd love to, you know, book a session with you and walk you through some time techniques and really get you in a position where you can release those limiting beliefs, those things that have been holding you back. So reach out to Andrea crisp.ca forward slash schedule and we can book a time together. Friend, I'd love to hanging out with you today. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

Andrea Crisp 0:58
Hello there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea crisp, I am your host. And I am really excited to be back with you, I took a little bit of a break from recording, went on vacation, it was amazing. And I was prepared in advance which you gotta love when you take the time to do things in advance. So the past few episodes have been pre recorded. And I was ready to go all the way up until now. So I am now back in the studio. But always so excited to be with you. Honestly, this is one of the most fun things I do in my business, I really have to say that it is something I love to do. I have been hosting this podcast for four and a half years, almost five years. And I love taking the time to press record and just sharing some of the thoughts that I have been learning things that are happening in my world that I hope will help you to live bravely in your life and in your business.

So I want to share a story with you today about something that happened while I was on vacation. And honestly, it was something that really helped to reframe a perspective in my life that I didn't even realize needed to shift. And when this happened, I started seeing myself in a whole new light. And when I tell you this story, I would love for you to look at your own life in context of what is happening in your particular situation right now. So whether that is in business, whether that's in relationships, finances, health, in any particular area, you can apply this particular principle to your life. Because so often when we are faced with indecision or face with overwhelm, we can limit ourselves because we're waiting for this like magical moment to happen, or like the, the answer to appear. Right. And for some people, even it's to get God's will for their life. And for me, that was something that I ascribe to for many, many years, as I was in the Christian faith, and I would actually everything, every decision I would make, I would want to know what was God's will for my life. And I would not make decisions. In fact, to my detriment, until I knew that it was like a yes from God. No, I'm not really sure what I was waiting for, to hear to be quite honest with you. And I think I had a little bit of the theology screwed up if I'm, if I'm really honest with you. But there were a lot of times in my life that I put things on hold, I put my life on hold, waiting for an answer to a question that was never going to come. And I was paralyzed. And I did not make those decisions. Or I waited too long.

I lost out on opportunities. All because I wanted to be in the perfect will of God. Now, I had no idea that this old conditioning was actually a narrative I had formed about how I did life, how I did business, how I was in relationships, and this narrative seeped into my subconscious and it really penetrated For all of my decision making, so when it came to making any type of move in business or trying to figure out whether or not I should, you know, launch a course, or put out a new coaching program, or what podcast topics, should I do this week, I was always waiting for the perfect answer the right answer. And I didn't realize that I was actually really just holding myself back. So when I went away, in, back in and the end of March, beginning of April to Florida, I decided that, you know, I really needed to kind of take a break from the overthinking and the overwhelm. And it had been, you know, a really tough season, the pandemic, you know, just kind of coming to an end sort of, and we had been in some lockdowns, and I was just really tired, and I was just over it, I was over it. And I was offered the opportunity to go down to Florida to visit my folks in Panama City Beach, my brother was going to come and watch my dog. And so I decided to take them up on the offer. And with a week, you know, notice I decided to get on a plane and head to Panama City Beach. And when I arrived in Florida, I was exhausted, like, I was so tired, it took me days to actually unwind and relax. And it was the first time in about two years that I had gone anywhere. And so I was really like stressed out thinking about traveling and flying and all of those things. Now, I didn't realize at the time how much that the past few years had impacted me. But as soon as I started traveling, and, you know, got into a new place and a new location and was like, Oh my gosh, things are so different here. That's what I realized how I had really kind of been living in this like fog. And friend, I don't know if you've ever been in a place in your in your life where you're just kind of like coming out of that the slumber. But all of a sudden, when you have this, like huge realization, you're like, oh my gosh, how I've How have I even been living like this, like this is crazy. So I was in a real state of analysis paralysis. And I was feeling all sorts of emotions in my life. And they were coming up fast and furious. Like there was a lot of fear, and shame and worry, and all of these things. And they were just like, you know, bubbling up to the surface bubbling up to the surface. But every day, I made a decision that I was gonna go out to the ocean. So my parents lived right across the street from the ocean. And I was gonna walk in, oh, my gosh, it's like so beautiful. If I could tell you describe to you the most pure white crystally soft sand with beautiful turquoise ocean. And it's like sunsets for days. Like I mean, just an amazing, amazing, amazing view. And I would walk the beach. And as I would walk, you know, every day got a little bit better for me. And I was starting to unwind and relax. But every time I would go on a walk, I would ask God universe this one question, I would say, What do you want to talk about today? And I was really hoping that I was gonna get you know, is a magical answer. As I talked about before, because I always want to do the right thing I want to be in like the will of God, I want to, you know, make sure that I'm always doing what it is that I need to be doing. So anyways, so in particular day, I'm walking. It's actually close to the end of my trip. And I just had the sense like this phrase comes into my mind, you get to decide. And I stopped in my tracks and I thought what do you mean, I get to decide? And like I get to decide what we talk about or what. And what I really felt in my spirit was you get to decide how you want to live your life. And it was like all of a sudden, a light bulb went on. Here I had been wanting answers for so long. And God universe was saying to me, Andrea, you get to decide. And the reason why you haven't got the momentum or the movement in certain areas of your life is because you're waiting for an answer that only you have get to decide.

And I was like, Oh my gosh. And I started to see in every area how I had put this limitation on myself on opportunity, on growth, on relationships, because I was thinking, well, certain things are, you know, what God wants me to do. And I didn't take into consideration that the creator of the universe, universe itself, God would give me the option of creating, designing and deciding what I want for my life. And the reason I wanted to share this with you, because it was so impactful for me. As someone who grew up in the Christian church in the Christian faith, it has been really hard for me to peel back some of those layers as I've done a faith deconstruction. And as I'm working with coaches, and online entrepreneurs, and artists and creatives to help coach them with their mindset, and to help put them on a path towards really living out their full purpose and potential in their life. It is important for me to consistently be doing the work in my own life. And I had started to realize that this was going to limit me and limit what I was capable of doing. And the only reason it was going to limit waves because I was letting it not because I am innately limited. Because I'm not, I am full of possibility. There's possibility Around me there is nothing that I probably couldn't do. I mean, maybe apart from being in the NBA, or the NHL, or something like that, or an Olympian. But I mean, even maybe if I learned something, there's nothing that that we cannot do that when we put our minds to it. And when we know we are skilled to do that particular thing. And we limit ourselves because we think that there needs to be the perfect answer the perfect solution. And we're waiting for this magical moment to happen for us to then say, okay, yeah, this is it. This is exactly what I need to be doing in my life. And, friend, here's the thing, you get to decide. You get to create exactly what you want in your life. And in your business. You get to create exactly what you want. In your finances, in in your health, you get to create exactly what you want in your relationships and in your experiences in life. And yet, we hold ourselves back. Because we feel as though we only have certain options, when really, we have been given the opportunity to create whatever it is that we desire. Now, just because we decide to do it doesn't mean that it's a fait accompli. Okay, there's a little bit more to it than just that. But for some of you right now listening, you haven't even gotten to that point yet. And, hey, there is no judgement here.

Because, as I said previously, I was also in the same place where I was waiting for the perfect answer, the perfect moment, the perfect thing. And really, I think the underlying root for me was the will of God. For you, it could be something completely different. But what I want to encourage you today with is that if there's something that you want, you get to decide if you want to do it or not. You can say yes, and you can say no. So I want to encourage you with that today. Now next week, I want to continue with this conversation. And I'm going to talk to you about a little bit more about expectations. And I want to talk to you about what does that look like when you're setting those expectations in your life. So once you've decided what it is that you want, how do you take that and manifest that in to your life. So I love for you to join me next week. And I'll be chatting about that. But if you need a little extra support over the week, and you would love to join me for a free zoom call, I am hosting the mindset mentor circle every Wednesday at 12pm. Eastern Standard Time. This is a safe space for online coaches and entrepreneurs to just be real, and to have community to receive coaching, and to really release some of these limitations in a space where you can get a rapid transformation. And you don't have to worry about any fear of judgment, you just get to show up and be yourself. And of course, the bonus is it is free. So I'd love for you to join me. There is a link in the show notes for you to join and sign up for the mindset mentor circle. So I just want to say thanks for hanging out with me today if we have not connected I hope that we do. You can find all my links in the show notes afterwards. And I can't wait to be with you again next week. Until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live bravely.

Your mindset is your greatest asset! But it is also what may be holding you back from taking that next step in your life. Are you ready to reframe your mindset so that you can step more confidently into your purpose?

Andrea Crisp 0:00
The beauty of believing that you are in a place of expectation in your life is trusting and knowing that God universe source desires to give you anything that you desire in life. But on the flip side, when you're living out of a place of worry, that's when you're playing the what if game. So today on the podcast, we're going to talk about how to go from a mindset of worry to a mindset of expectation.

Andrea Crisp 0:50
Hey there, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am your host, and I am so excited to be joining you today to be talking about a new dimension of expectation.

Maybe in your life, you have been in a place where you are just like, Yeah, you know, I don't really expect anything. I don't really put anything out there. Because well, you know, I'm never sure that it's going to come back to me. Well, one of my friends, not that long ago actually told me that she does not expect things to happen. So when I asked her why that is, she responded and told me Well, you know what, honestly, I'm just afraid of being disappointed. And that is no way to live.

When we don't expect things to happen in our lives, just for fear of disappointment, of rejection of even, you know, uncertainty in our lives, we get a whole lot of nothing back. Okay? And how sad is it to go through life with this belief that God source universe does not want to deliver anything that would help us give us prosperity, or abundance or happiness or joy within our lives.

So today, if you are struggling with worrying, if you're struggling with that uncertainty, you're struggling with thinking that there's just not enough and you want to raise your level of expectation, you want to elevate your mindset, then I want you to stay tuned, because we're going to talk about how you can do that. But before we do that, before we get to that today, I want to share with you that I am starting a brand new coaching program called well... duh duh duh... Elevate Your Mindset. And we're going to do that exact thing, we're going to go through the five key shifts that I believe every coach and entrepreneur needs to make within their life in business, to really move past those limiting beliefs, of comparison of lack of feeling like you're not enough, so that you can start living out of a place of expectation, because here's the thing, friend, what it is that you are putting out into the universe, you attract back to you.

So if you're living out of a lack mindset out of a limited belief, you are going to attract that back into your life and into your business. And that might be the reason why things are not moving along as fast as you'd like them to. So when you shift those beliefs, you start elevating your mindset, you're going to see that you start attracting new things into your life and into your business, and is going to totally shift the trajectory of where you have been going. So I will put all of the information in the show notes and you can take a look at it. We're starting May 12th. love to have you join me for elevate your mindset.

Okay, so let's get back to the topic at hand, which is really stepping into a new dimension of expectation. So last week on the podcast, I was sharing with you what happened to me personally when I went to Florida, and I had this huge revelation around the fact that I get to decide what it is that I want. And I really felt like this was a huge pivotal moment for me because it really helped me to see that I am truly add cause for my life. Now if you haven't had a chance to listen to the episode, go ahead and pause this one and go back and listen and then you can jump back to this one again.

But today, I want to talk to you about kind of the next point which is setting your expectation. Because if you're not expecting things to happen in your life for good things to happen, then you're on the flip side where you are in a State of worry. Now Bob Proctor talks about it this way, the same amount of energy really is fueling both worry and expectation. And if you've ever found yourself in a state of worry, a state of uncertainty, maybe around your health, maybe around your finances, maybe around your relationships, you know, that it is likely that you continue to attract that into your life. And you're like, Yeah, I keep getting sick, I keep losing relationships, I don't really have what I want in my life or in my business. And that is because what it is that we put out there is what is coming back to us attracting back basically, like a magnet, because we are energetic beings. And everything around us is energy. So we are attracting like to us. So it is so important that we shift from a state of worry of lack of limitation to a state of expectation. And the beauty of all of this is that you get to decide what it is that you want. Going right back to last week's episode, right? You get to decide what it is that you desire, and expect out of the different contexts in your life, whether they be health, finances, relationships, your business.

For years, I worried myself into toxic relationships, I worried myself into jobs that just weren't fulfilling and ended up getting fired many, many, many, many, many, many times. I was in jobs that were so stressful, and disempowering that it left me feeling as though I was never going to move forward within my life. And those worrying thoughts really spiraled into anxiety and depression. And that kept me from being able to really build the business, the coaching business that I desired. And it took me many years to really understand and pull all of this kind of apart, seeing how I limited myself, how I had really set myself up to be in this place of uncertainty and worry, and never really, truly seeing that I could expect something amazing to happen. And what I didn't know, then, but I know now is that worry is actually a self fulfilling prophecy. So I was literally attracting those negative things into my life by worrying about them by thinking about them. And when I was in my, you know, beginning stages of coaching business, I was doing the exact same thing as well. And in fact, I remember meeting a good friend of mine, and he was telling me how hard the coaching industry is and how so few people make it, and most people will fail. And guess what I bought into that believed it, set it as my expectation and really thought that that was going to happen to me as well. And I even had to pull that apart and say, You know what, if that's what I expect to happen, then that is what is going to be happening in my life. So how does this apply to you?

Well, maybe there's an area in your life right now that comes top of mind that you're like, oh my gosh, Andrea, you are hitting the nail on the head when it comes to this because I am living in a place in my life. In a state where I'm worried about something I'm worried about how things are going to shift are going to change. What if this? What if that.

And I want to tell you right now that you don't have to stay there. One of my coaching clients that I was just talking to not that long ago, we talked about a relationship in business that he had recently lost, and in this relationship was a tremendous amount of income that was flowing into his life. Okay, when that relationship was lost of no fault of his own, he was worried that he would never be able to recoup that money, that that income was gone forever. And so he was worrying himself into like, now what what am I going to do what's, you know, oh, no, like the sky is falling, the sky is falling, right? And here's the thing we talked about, well, what if you started to shift that mindset and reframe it and start to see the possibility of what if this new relationship is actually going to propel you even further in your business give you more growth, more opportunity, and it's even better than the one you previously had. But all of this is really about getting super clear on what it is that you desire. And putting forth those expectations in your life, and believing that God universe desires to deliver on those things.

And sometimes it feels like oh my gosh, well, how do I go from one to the other? How do I switch from a place of worry? To a place of expectation? Well, first of all, you want to know, what is the limiting belief that is holding me back? What do I believe to be true about my life? And why am I in this state of worry? What is holding me back and keeping me in this place of continuously? Asking the what if question. And when you start to see, okay, well, maybe this is a pattern from childhood, maybe this is something I learned maybe this is something that was said to me, you can start to root out that belief. And you can replace that belief with something more empowering in your life. And if you're not sure how to do that, I'd love to help you with that, I can walk you through a process that will help you to not only discover what the belief is, but actually to shift it and change it. And we're actually gonna be doing that within elevate your mindset.

So when you are able to root out those limitations, when you're able to root out those limiting beliefs in your life, and start to see the possibility, that's when you're going to go from worry to expectation, and that's going to raise you up, that's going to elevate you to really start attracting what it is that you desire within your relationships, within your finances, within your business in all areas of your life. So I would love to have you join me for this a five week coaching program or starting mid May jump in this is the very first round that we're doing the investment is incredibly good. It's only $555. So easy for you to jump in and make these shifts right now in your life and in your business. So go ahead, click the link in the show notes. You'll you'll see all the information, feel free to connect with me. Ask me any questions that you might have. But don't miss out on this opportunity right now because I really truly believe that this could be the exact thing you need, really to shift you out of this place. And I would love to help you and guide you in this journey.

Friend, thanks for hanging out with me. I can't wait to see you be a part of Elevate your mindset. And until next time, remember, you have everything you need to live briefly.

Andrea Crisp 0:58
Hello, friends, welcome to the courage cast, I am so glad that you are here with me today. And I've got a really incredible episode for you. We're going to be talking with Rachel Weaver today all about how to write copy from our human design. And this is something that I have only recently been introduced to and honestly, totally blowing my mind, totally blowing my mind. And Rachel really helps us to understand the different parts of human design, as well as how we can use it within our marketing, specifically when it comes to what we're writing, and how we're putting our words out into the world. And so you are going to absolutely get so much from this conversation. So without further ado, here's my conversation with Rachel Weaver. Rachel, thank you for joining me on the courage cast. I am so glad to be chatting with you today. Thanks. I can't wait for people to get to know you. Honestly. Thank you for being here.

Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited for conversation.

Hello. I just love talking sowell, then you're in the right.

Yes.I like listening.

You know, it's it's funny. The listeners may not know this, but unless unless they've like watched my stories or even read some of my posts in Instagram. But we tried to record this episode about a week ago. And right in the middle of the episode, we probably like 30 minutes into the conversation. I had this like overwhelming sense to stop the podcast recording. And and I asked you if that would be okay with you. And you graciously said yes. And I was really overwhelmed. It was me. It was all me. Yeah. And I've never done that before. And I just want to thank you for coming back. Even though you're rudely interrupted the first not really at all, um, it was it? Honestly, I could feel that there was a difference in your voice when the first time we had talked the week before that. So I'm glad that you said something. And I will never ever, like go against someone's intuition. If their intuition is telling them something, then oh my gosh, like by all means, listen, let's read. Let's come back to this. revisit it later. Yeah, yeah. And I wanted to bring that up, because I think it's important to our conversation today. Because you are all about human design, you do copy and writing for people, and also just helping them understand a little bit more about how they can communicate through human design, knowing their own human design, and I'm sure we'll get to that.

But a lot of that does revolve around energy. And, you know, the energy that we're in. And I had, previously to our conversation had, you know, launched the 200th episode of the podcast, and then two days later, put out an additional episode, which I never do. I never launched two episodes in a week. And I was really, really exhausted. My energy was very drained. I was coming from a place that felt very depleted. Yeah. And I know when you're working with people, you probably talk a lot about the energy that they're in. Why is it important that people are in the right energy for them, when they are doing things in their business in life? I think the start Yeah, it's a great place to start. I think when you have two people doing the same actions, and they don't get the same results, right? We hear all the time like gurus are telling you do this, this and this and you can copy what they do verbatim but not get the same result as them. Why?

Because your energy isisn't in alignment in that moment, when you're doing those actions, there's like a head and heart coherence that needs to happen. where your head is on board, your heart is on board your desires, and you're actually moving towards something that you truly desire. Not just like ego, one ego, want, desire, but what you truly, truly desire. And I think we get lost in that. But yeah, really understanding.

Rachael Weaver 5:26
I think the hardest part is understanding and knowing what energy you're in, in the moment, because it isn't always blatantly obvious, like, sometimes it is when you're just crabby, right? Or you're just happy and excited, right? Like, those are the easy ones. But there's subtler differences, too, when you're just doing your thing, you're just in your business working on things. And you don't necessarily realize the undertone of your energy, and what you're putting out there. It could be an undertone of frustration that like you're been writing these things, and nobody's really posting, but you got to post anyway, like, you really have to be cognizant and aware of what's going on in your head. Because that'll give you an idea of what your energy is doing.

Andrea Crisp 6:10
So if somebody you know, like, we're talking about that, you know, that, you know, feeling maybe emotion that somebody might feel when they are about to put something out into the world, like, you know, could be social media posts could be a podcast episode.

What What should someone look for when they are about to do that? Yeah. Are there things that they can just even like? Start a starting point? Yeah, I think the starting point is, what is your intention with posting? What is your intention? That's really right. It's really, what is your intention? Or is your intention just to post because you feel like you need to post something? That's not going to be the best energy is your intention? Because you are wanting to share what your offer is? Okay. Are you excited to share it? Or do you feel like, oh, I don't have any clients lined up, I need to go post something, because I need to get some clients booking. Right? Like, what is the intention behind the post? From the get go? Yeah. So there's a lot of, you know, people who are, you know, at the beginning stages of their business who maybe don't, like you said, have a client that's lined up. And I think that they, that's when you get into that spinning cycle of like, you know, I don't have anybody coming. So what do you usually suggest to somebody who's in that position where maybe they're starting out, and they're not seeing people engage right away? And yeah, what would you say to that? Well, it's honestly, it's like anybody that pivots in their business, or they change the message, you kind of, it takes a certain amount of time for people to catch up with you and realize what you're doing. So you can feel like you're talking incessantly about something you are. So in your business, your the energy is intense that you're like, I this is what I'm offering that right, you're, it's feels big to you, but what you're actually putting out there is only like one or two posts here or there. And not everybody sees it, because algorithms and whatever. So what you're actually putting out there doesn't match what you think you're putting out there. Does that make sense? Like, yeah, and so in the beginning, yeah, you got to talk incessantly about what you do. And when you pivot, and you change your message a little bit, I'm famous for this, I changed my message, I pivoted, I think, like three or four times in the last two years.

Rachael Weaver 8:34
And it, you have to take a step back and really lay the foundation again and tell people what you're doing. And it takes them a few weeks to catch up with you incessantly talking about it. And then they're like, oh, okay, then you can back off a little bit, then you have like, what you call, like, you're known for something specific, right? But you have to talk about it all the time in the beginning, the first little bit, right? And in the energy of like, I'm just really excited to share that I can do this for you that I can help you with this. Now, is there ever a time that somebody can share out of maybe a little bit of frustration or angst, and have it be a good thing?

Um, I'm sure there is. But I think ultimately, the, the outcome you want is not in that energy. You write like, you can get people contacting you off of posts that you wrote when you were frustrated. But are those your ideal clients?

Maybe not, maybe they're people that maybe you were stuck in the pain of frustration, right? So you put this post out there, and then the people you get coming to you from that post are second frustration themselves and can't figure out how to get out. And okay, yes, wehelp people through their frustration.

But there's a difference between people that are ready to hear what you have to say and ready to, to work on that frustration and get out of it, right? versus people that are just stuck in a story and can't get out of it no matter what you say. Right. Okay, so So I guess what I, what I'm understanding or hearing you say is like, if you're frustrated with something and you want to talk about that topic, then it's probably a good, like, you know, take, you know, take that topic and kind of put it to the side for a little bit until your frustration eases and then talk about it from a place that you're in a better energy. Yeah, that would bring a better result, a better result that, you know, then just out of frustration, is that yeah, and I think it still comes back to the intention of why do you feel like you need to say this? What is the intent behind saying this? Yeah. And if so, yeah.

Yeah, there's like, for example, I just know, the like, lately, there's one particular person I follow, I will obviously not tell who this person is. She's the coach, she makes a lot of money. And she's been not well, and she talks about that a lot on her Instagram. And, and then she's selling as she's talking about it. You know, I haven't I haven't been well, and I'm selling and selling. And like, for some reason, I at the beginning, when I first started following her, I was finding a lot of value out of what she had to offer. And then the more she was talking to me about not feeling well. I tuned out. Yeah, yeah. And I was like, Oh, I don't know that I really want to work with you. Yeah. Is that kind of what you're talking about? I mean, he had it.

You can't go off of what other people do, because number one, we may not be the best client for them. We may not be what the type of person they're trying to reach, right?

Maybe we are. And but you have to kind of look at what other people are doing and discern like, does this sit well with me? Do I? Do I? Am I attracted to this? Or am I not in my pulled away from it? Right? And just trust your own judgment of the energy in in a way that it's they do whatever they want to do? And that's fine, right? Like there's no judgment or shame on what they do. It's just that doesn't resonate with me. But what does resonate with me? How do I want my people to feel when they're reading my stuff? What is the intent behind me helping them? Right? If there's an intent of like, I need to make money?

Andrea Crisp 12:48
Yeah, so somebody is not necessarily going to write that. But that comes through. Yes, the intent of needing to make money that neediness comes through. Yeah. And how does that come through? Like Wait, like, wait, I'm so curious. I think it's more than just feeling I think people don't give enough credit to how they feel. So somebody may read a post, okay. So say I write a post them like, I really need to make some money. Like, I'm like, things are getting really serious around here, we got some bills to pay, but you know, I'm really worried about him, right? So I'm going to put up these posts, I got it, I, I can sell this program, I know I can, I'm going to put it out there. And if your intention and thought is I need to make money, it gives it a desperate energy in the post. So not you could have it literally could say the exact same thing, but with a different intent and different energy behind it, and it will reveal different results. That's what we're talking about.

Okay, so that's why it's important to do the work the inner work. Yeah, yeah. Because you can, you can literally say the same thing, but it has a different energy behind it, and it will attract different people. And I think when your intent is to truly help people and to truly just give your service, then I feel like the universe lines up behind you and was like, Alright, let's do this. And it'll help you with the algorithm like they're getting it out and in front of the people that need to see it, it the universe will help you and support you in doing that. But if your intent is more scarcity, and I need to make money and I need to make this business work, then the universe is behind that too. But it's going to deliver it to people that are in that same frame of mind, and those are not the best clients to have. Those are the refund seekers. Yeah, I have two two friends that come to mind that are both amazing and both that operate at a very different energy frequencies like in the sense of like, how their personality comes across. And one is very calm and very peaceful and the other one's a little bit more like you know, hard hitting you

You know, doesn't take any, you know, shit off anybody? Yeah. And I'm equally drawn to them. Yeah. For what they do. One does completely different thing than the other person. Yeah.

But it's so interesting because, you know, like, it's not about the personality, right? Like, it's not about your personality, it's about the energy. Exactly. Yeah, you can be soft spoken and introverted. And just softer, right? Like, you're not that bold in your face kind of person with beautiful energy behind you with an intent of just to share your gifts, and you will be just as successful as somebody that is bold in your face doesn't take shit. And if long is their intent is again just to serve what they're what they their gifts are. And yeah, yeah, it doesn't matter what your personality is the

Rachael Weaver 15:52
Your personality is amplified by the energy behind it.

Andrea Crisp 15:56
Oh, that's good. Wow, that's good. Your personality is amplified by the energy behind it. Yeah, that's really good. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, okay, that's really good.

I'm thinking about, you know, just even, you know, the past, how maybe I operated or shared my, my voice or my story. And for many, many years, probably was afraid to be who I truly was. And I think there are these sides of me, that I feel are more approachable. Yeah. So it's like, it's easy to put out the side of you, that feels approachable. And then the side of you that is a little bit like, more intense, I would say.

So the side of me that was more intense. I wanted to kind of like, rein that in, because I was so afraid of that intensity being off putting that I only allowed my, the part of my personality that is going to be like approachable. Yeah. And spent a lot and but now that I'm thinking about that, and it's like, I never really allowed the intense part of me come through with the right intention.

Yes, held it back. Yeah. So I just stopped it completely. So never really being as truly authentic as I could. Because, yeah, I thought, Oh, that is going to put people off me. When really, if my intention is in integrity. I hear you saying, Yeah, then it's going to attract the people who need to hear it anyways, because it's not necessarily how I'm saying it. It's about the intention and the energy that's behind why I'm saying yeah, absolutely. Yeah. We all have like multiple voices within us. I myself, like I played a lot when I had a photography business. I was either like really sassy, and kind of cocky, almost to being very flowery, flowery and poetic. And, like two very different.

And it's so funny, because I can see both out of Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of like, this is what my clients see in this. This is what my friend group sees. Mm hmm. Yeah. And, and, and like, could you marry the two? Yeah, like, can you marry the two in business, you can marry the two. And again, it comes always back to intention for me the sassy, cocky one came out when I was feeling scared. And not in control. That's when the sassy girl came out. The flower girl came in when she was like, Yeah, that's good. It's like peace, love from the 70s. Like, yeah.

Rachael Weaver 18:50
Um, yeah. So it was, it was how I was feeling the mood that I was in depended on the voice that came out. So I had a lot of work to do to figure out like, what?

What was going on there? Um, but mostly, yeah, you can bring the two together, and understand that they're all part of you. And they get to have a voice. But you get to decide like, ultimately, in what energy am I going to deliver this voice? Mm hmm. Today, I was working on launch plan for one of the groups that I'm gonna offer in the spring. And I was trying to make a decision between launching it soon. Or a month later, like 30 days later, it was either going to be now or later.

Andrea Crisp 19:43
And I had a video of kind of a launch strategy that I was going to rewatch and it's really good. But as I was watching it, and I was writing things down, and I was like, thinking to myself, this is really, really but it doesn't feel like it's where I'm at. So I turned the video off, and it turned some music on. And I just started to sit there and I'm like, Okay, I'm going to tune into my own intuition here. Like, what is my intuition telling me? Yeah. You know, do I need to launch it now? Do I need to launch it? Right. I guess the question is right now. Yeah, like not Yeah, you know? And

I was like, No, yeah, I don't. Yeah. I mean, financially, yes. You're like, obviously, like, the sooner the better, you launch something, right? They take messy action. But in the same way, I was like, No, that doesn't feel in integrity with where I'm at. And what what I want to put out, I want to put out something that feels really aligned. And, and so as I was doing that, I was like, I stopped doing the planning process, and I just kind of decided to dial it back and like, go and clean, do some other things. And just allow myself to settle a bit so that I could get the download of what it was that needed to come through. Yeah.

When you're doing, you know, launching or any kind of sales pages or anything, like how, how do you want to be when you're in that process? for myself or for clients? Either or who, um, for myself, and I know, what I've really learned this last year is that there is a dance between taking messy action and listening to your intuition, right? And it comes back to are you willing to step fully into yourself and who you're becoming? Because every time that I've held back, or I felt like no, now's not the good time, is because I wasn't ready to step into fully who I am. And for whatever reason, right, like you.

Rachael Weaver 22:11
And you can unpack that. And now that I see that, when I come to a spot where I'm like, Well, why don't I want to do this? Like, why do I need to hold back? And it's usually because like, No, I'm, I'm holding my own self back. Because I'm not ready to step into who I am. And then then it's asking, Well, what do I need to step into this? What do I need to feel supported? And then I can step into this. And then usually everything kind of the dominoes all fall into place.

For clients, it's really sussing out understanding, where are they at right now? With their message? Where do they want to go? And why are they not stepping into it right now? What's holding them back? What's scaring them, and giving them anxiety, that if they step into that full version that they know is there, right? It's almost like you're on the end of a dock. And life, as usual, is behind you. And you can see a glimmer of what's possible out there in the water, but it's fogged over. And you have you can put one foot in the boat and one foot on the dock and it's super wobbly. You're like wobbling back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, right? And the fog is kind of there. But then it clears and comes back and you're just in this like back and forth, back and forth, back and forth energy. But the second you commit and jump in that boat, the boat settles, and you can sail out and the fog clears. Right.

So it's understanding. Are you on that dock right now? Or you're just Yeah, I can't.I'm scared. Yeah. Oh, are you? Are you legitimately waiting for a download? I think honestly, the universe will give you a download the second you are ready for it. So if the download was not there, then what's missing? Like, what are you not stepping into?

Andrea Crisp 24:10
That's good. That's really good advice. When I was I think that I can I can apply that in my own life even just thinking about I have been putting off launching.

But today I was Today felt like the first day that I'm like, No, I feel I feel like I could do that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Like, like, like you said, I didn't have words for it, like stepping into that version of myself. That embodied that Yeah. Instead of feeling I think before there was a part of me that was like, knew I wasn't there. I was, you know, and so it was like, Okay, I better not do it because no I better not to but that's just how it felt like yeah, that was the the dialogue in my mind, but

Um, now is this different for different types in human design? Like, we haven't really like chatted about that. But yeah, there are different types. Yes know much about human design. Yes. What does that mean? When you're, you're actually working with human design, and you're messaging, both. So when I'm looking at someone's chart, I can tell what's likely to hold them back and make them not want to commit or be scared to commit.

Rachael Weaver 25:29
And that's the openness, the white part of your chart, right. And when we can step more into the defined areas in our chart, those wobbles become less, they become easier to go, Okay, I see what's happening here. But you have to be in your energy, we're the white parts, you are conditioned by the world around you. So if you have an open head and open agina on the two at the top, like you can overthink things all the time you identify, yeah, in then you identify with those thoughts, you're like, well, if I'm thinking this, then I must not be ready, right. And that's not the case at all, it's just your head doesn't have anything, a way to process that information in a consistent way. So it kind of goes haywire until you see what's happening, and then you can rein it in.

And I've also seen where defined areas defined channels to your throat, can be shut down with conditioning as well. So like, if you have a channel from your, the will center to the throat, it's very much I want, this is what I desire. It's very, it's ego, but it's ego from a higher place. But it comes off in our world being very ego driven, like you are very determined to have what you want, right? If you grow up in a household that doesn't allow you to express that, it's like what you want doesn't matter. And you it gets shut down. And then as an adult, they want to talk about what they want, but they can't they just feel like there's just so much there that it's blocked, right? And so it's clearing that channel and understanding that, no, you are meant to talk about this. And you can do it in a way that is fully in alignment with yourself and everyone around you. So it's, it's looking at a person's chart is more than just your type. This is like looking at the nuances of your chart, and understanding how the energy flows through your chart and up and out your throat.

Andrea Crisp 27:41
Okay, which I find fascinating. I have no idea what any of that means.

Although, like, I know, I've downloaded my chart, I even sent my chart to you, I've had another friend look at my chart, and explain a few things to me.

But I just see a lot of like these little things. And I'm like, I don't know what any of this means. You know, but that's why it's important to have somebody who knows how to read it. Yeah, and understand how it all works together to communicate. Yeah, yeah. How is it? What is what is the premise of human design, it's, um, it's pulling different things together. So it's like astrology eaching, the chakra system is pulling all these different things together and creating a system from that. So it's based off of your birth date and time. It's an imprint of how your energy works, both how it interacts with other people, as well as how you communicate with the universe, and how the universe communicates with you.

How Okay, can you say that, again, how you how you communicate with the universe, and how the universe communicates with you. So you communicate to the universe through respond or through your strategy. So that's for manifests, it's initiating, you're communicating thing, and you initiate and go after something. It's communicating to the universe, that this is what you want for generators and manifesting generators is responding. So you're responding to everything. By the way in the world, you're responding to energy, you're responding to people's words, actions. All of it, you're responding in every single moment. So you're using your gut to go yes or no to things. And with that, you're saying yes to this and no to that, and that's telling universe more of what you want. For projectors, it's invitation so you're waiting for an invitation to give your energy to people.

Rachael Weaver 29:43
You don't have to wait to like write a post or anything like that, but you need to wait to give your energy to another person. So to coach someone to help them they need to say hey, I want your help right the invitation.

The reflectors needs to wait 30 days a lunar cycle because they don't have any definition or any defined centers in their chart, which means they need to kind of work through the energy in a cycle of 28 days to really understand what it is. That's correct for them.

Wow. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. And then, um, theuniverse communicates with you through your authority. So that's the way you make decisions. So the universe can respond or for back to you with like, your intuitive hits. This is where like in splenic, intuitive knowing comes from the sacral gut, yes or no. There's emotional wave, there's G center, and there is head, like, there's multiple ones and different ways for you to tap into that intuition. Depending on who you ask. Okay, so there's ways you're communicating with the universe, which is the first step you talked about ways the universe is communicating with us. That's like the download. Yeah, basically what we're talking about. Yeah. So the universe is communicating with you and how you're receiving that. Yeah, how you're receiving it? Oh, yeah. And how it's going. So every person's a little bit different. Yep. When you say how we are communicating with the universe, Does that just mean?

Andrea Crisp 31:22
Does that mean people to or does that mean? Just like the universe? And I don't know. Does that make sense? Am I I'm late bores people different.

Rachael Weaver 31:37
Like how I would communicate with someone else? Yeah, how I communicate with people? Well, I think I mean, we're all communicating with each other all the time. Right. So like, this is a very sacral conversation. Manifesting generators and generators, respond. So having a conversation back and forth is really helpful because it gives us something to to bounce off of, right? Yeah. Okay. Um, and even projectors, too, because they're looking for an invitation. So somebody that interviews the projector via lots of questions, asking them how they work through things, how do they see things? Right? That is their invitation then to share what they know. I'm a manifester is more, it would be questions like What do you see? And like, what is this?

Allowing them to go where they want to go? And follow their own guidance? Right? Does that make sense? Yes, yes. Okay. That this is very, it can be very complex. Yes, it is complex. But I think when you start to understand how the whole system works together, then you're like, Oh, well, this relates to this. And this relates that, and it's an experiment. Don't take anything that anyone says, especially in social media, in like these little sound bites as gospel. It's not it's your experiment, your experience with this system, right? And how does your intuition talk to you? How do you relate back and forth to it? How does it show up in your life and play with it? That's the whole point. It's an experiment.

Andrea Crisp 33:17
So if there's things that you find are not working for you are ways in which you've been doing things before, and you feel like you're continually coming up against a block, then it's like, okay, well, experiment with a different way. Yeah. Until you sense that that is how what works for you. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, I've been finding lately for me. And this is where I think a lot of my where that pressure was coming from, like, just our feeling of overwhelm. Yeah. Was when there were too many voices. And I was listening to too many of them. I would get, I would feel overwhelmed and not confused, maybe, but overwhelmed with the amount of options, even if a lot of the options sounded very similar. Yeah. It was like, Okay, this option, but this way, this option, but this way, I was like, oh, there's too many things. What should I do? And I was neglecting to really tap into my own intuition and go what is right for me? Like I was always externally looking for someone else to have the answer. Yes. Oh my gosh, that's like indicative of being on the end of that dock and having one foot in one foot out, because you're looking for someone to make that decision for you. And say that, okay, it's safe to get in the boat or it's not safe, right? You're in you can't see what's possible or even like where you're need to go because there's, there's so much noise around you. Right.

So, so tapping in and if I if I so what I ended up doing with that, you know, particular scenario is, I was like, Okay, I can't listen to all these voices I have to like, say no, I have to say no, in order to really hear myself. Yeah. Yeah. Because I think I was getting confused, then like, Is this me? Is this them? And then because you know, when we talked having the open head, I would get into the overthinking part of it, which would, then I would do nothing.

So, learning to tap in to myself to my own intuition so that I can take action on that. Or do things in that space? Yeah.

Rachael Weaver 35:45
Even if it seems a bit messy. It does seem a bit messy, to be honest. But yeah, no, there is that. Yeah, like, kind of like, Am I on the right path? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah, you got to tap in and it's trusting your own intuition will guide you. And I think this is the biggest piece that we're,

I feel like most people are starting to understand that we have intuition that we need to trust it, right. But we're still a little bit in this ground of, I'm not sure I do trust it with everything, like I trust it in this area of my life, but I don't trust it in this area of my life. And it's, it's another experience for you to go in and trust it in that area of your life, right. And the only way you learn to trust it is by listening to it doing the thing and then going, Oh, it worked.Yeah, we're not listening to it and going shit, it didn't work.

Andrea Crisp 36:43
You know, when I think about that, like in just a very practical sense, just to like, bring it down for people who are like, What the hell are these talking about?

I mean, I'm sure there's probably people who could explain this or listening to this. But there may be somebody who's not. But in a very practical sense, I remember when I used to be a pastor at a church, and I did music. And so for me, it was really interesting that when I would do on a Sunday morning, or whenever I would lead a song service, and I would be doing the music. And I was really in tune with when the pastor would come onstage, and knowing and the verbal nonverbal cues of what was happening. And I was in charge of leading the band, and also leading vocally. So I had to watch the nonverbal cues of whoever, and it was always a different person. Yeah. There's always other things happening. I always had to be listening to the music also, and listening to like, what's happening in the moment where we are even spiritually, yeah. And people would be amazed, and they would talk to me later and say, How do you do that? Like, how are you doing so many things at one time? And feel seamless? Like I never second guessed? Am I doing this? Right? Yeah. Yeah. And it was like, I'd be playing the piano or I'd be doing whatever I was doing. And I'm like, I'm just there's the sense of intuition.

And I never second guessed it. When it comes to stuff in business. I'm second guessing things left, right and center.

And And here, I look at this like place in my life where everything felt really natural. Yeah. And very in tune. It's not like I didn't get things wrong. I got things wrong for sure. Yeah, but but in the same way I guy is it a lot of it is is like you said is like like learning, getting it wrong. Tapping in Yeah. And then knowing that feeling, what it feels like when it when you are in alignment. Yeah. No one can tell you what that feels like. We can kind of tell like we can say from our experience, right? But we can't tell you what your experience is. And I can guarantee you that when you were in doing that musical thing. You were present in the moment you were like zeroed in, there was nothing else on your mind you were present 100% right there in the now. That's when we can tap into our intuition. The second we start over what thinking about the future overwhelmed with the past in our emotions, and when we can talk about the emotional wave for those people that have that as their decision making. But when you are in a ton of emotion, you really hard to hear intuition. It's really hard to be in flow because you're just you're human. You're being an a human having a human experience right now.

Okay, so can we talk about that for just a second. So a lot of things going on past couple of years. Obviously, we all know what they are. Yeah. Just more recently, the war. Yes, Russia and Ukraine. Russia invading Ukraine. Yes. Many, many, many emotions. Yeah. So many things energetically happening. If a person feels influenced by a something happening a crisis in the world? Or is that a place where they maybe need to stop and go, okay, like they need to, like, settle their nervous system and their emotions and make their decision outside of that? Yes, absolutely. Like, okay. We can't make the best decisions for us when we are in fight or flight. And when you are reacting to the world, you're in fight or flight. So we need to process don't stuff things away and say that you're not upset about something when you clearly are, right, that's not healthy either. So I mean, processing emotion, get sad, get mad, go through it. And then once you're calm, then go, Okay, what is there for me to do? What can I change in the moment right now. And that's when you get intuitive hits, that's when you're in truly that's the action that is going to have the most impact is your process, you dealt with it, now you're ready to go, now you're like, let's, let's make something happen. Let's make some change happen.

Rachael Weaver 41:27
And I think people that are, we all experience emotions differently, too. So if you're defined in your solar plexus, then you're experiencing a very consistent wave, it happens very much the same every time, where if you're undefined, you're not experiencing emotions the same at all, you're very much influenced by those around you. And you can be easily overwhelmed with those emotions, you're taking them in and you're amplifying them back. Think of, I see it with my kids, all the time, my son is defined emotionally has a very consistent, like, he gets pissed, he holds on to it for a certain amount of time, and then lets it go and everything's fine. And then 30 minutes later, you'll see my undefined daughter lose her shit. And you're like, why? She took all of his crap that he was going through on herself and was like, I don't know what to do with this, but, and freaks out and loses her mind. Okay, am I undefined? Or my defined? Do you remember how she was going to pull yourself? I'm going to do that. Right?

Andrea Crisp 42:32
That I mean, that makes a lot of sense. Because I've often wondered and talk to people about, like, you know, I always say like, I'm empathic. But that makes that really makes a lot more sense. Because I see in my, some of my family members how, like, they can get upset with something and then move on, like they're done. Right? Like, I may not do anything, and seem fine, but then it is I'm internalizing it like crazy, I think, no, you're defining because we talked about this, you die, I think so let me double check that I think you're defined. Um, but that's not to say that you can't be empathic to other people's emotions at all. Like, I think that's there's some misinformation out there. The word misinformation? No.

Rachael Weaver 43:18
No, you are undefined. Okay. Yeah. Okay. You're a sacral. Yes. Okay. I was thinking someone else. Um, so you're undefined. Yeah, you're taking in the emotions of those around you. It can be environmental to like, you can watch the world have the worst thing happening and taking all that in. And I know that if I sit in that for too long, or read too many stories, like I can't function, it's debilitating, defined or undefined.

I have to be really careful. Like, I can read a story or two, I can pull it in and like but immediately have to go okay. This is not my emotion. I can feel it. But it is not mine. It's, I found it easier. I can do that a lot easier now with world events and not as reactive to world events last two years has given me lots of opportunities to work through that and work this out to work it out. But with people around me, like my husband or my kids, it's a lot harder because they're, you're in it right? It's right there in your reality. And two separate is a lot harder. So my husband is a emotional projector. And we were looking for a house last year. And we would get I would get caught up in this like frenzy of like, oh my gosh, we have to find a house and we're being outbid in this like crazy market that I'm in I had to separate that. And then on top of that, then he would have his own emotional response to all of it and I would feel his emotional response. And every time that I am deeply emotional or in it experiencing either the collective his emotion, whatever. I cannot hear my sacral to save my life. Like it's not there. It's dead in the water there is no Yes or No is just, you're out there like flailing around, you're on your own.

Andrea Crisp 45:18
So, so how did you learn to deal with that? And what did you do to? I processed it? And then yeah, um try to only make decisions when I was not in my emotions and try to go is this truly and really asking? I asked so much for guidance, so much guidance when we're in it in it. Because I didn't I I couldn't with the way the market was how many offers we had in I was just like, just give us the house that we need right now. Just give us the house that we need right now. And I trust that this is all going to work out. And we got an amazing yeah, you know, it's so funny with the with this. You know, what's going on right now currently?

I haven't been watching the news, but I did watch the news for a couple of days. Yeah. So I found there was one particular night I woke up around four in the morning, and I had the most anxiety I've had any years I used to someone anxiety well the night. And I haven't, but I had lots of anxiety. Yeah. And I was questioning everything in my life. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, I mean, you name it. I was questioning it. Like, I'm we're gonna we're done. I'm, I'm pulling the plug on every day, like I was like, and I remember I got up, went to the bathroom, got a drink. And I said, Andrea, it's the middle of the night. You're hot. I was hot. Also. You're anxious. You're feeling anxious. You watched the news? Go back to sleep. And tomorrow, sort this out? Yeah. And I, you know, because I realize that a lot of the things that you know, the stressors or overwhelm are things that we find ourselves in, when we take something on energetically, then all of a sudden, we think that we're making every decision out of that place. But I had to recognize, yeah, this is really about something very different. Yeah. That I'm emotionally processing. And I don't want to connect my business or what I'm doing. Yeah, with this, I need to like, and I thought, you know, like, as a like, when I think about who I am out of integrity. I know that I'm the type of person that I do need to know what's going on in the world. I am very compassionate. I do want. I am justice oriented, there are things about me. But in the same way, I can't stay in that space. I have to process through so that I can then continue to do the things that light me up. Yeah. And we're no good to anyone. If we're stuck in anxiety, depression and, and chaos. We're no good to anyone. No, that's so true, right? That we can't affect change. We can't because we can't see beyond our own limited mind. And we have to process the emotion and get present. To be able to trust and know what the right next step is. Yeah. This is so so good. Okay, so to kind of bring it back around. Yeah. We've talked about a lot it was very like, wow, that was the conversation I wasn't expecting.

Love it. You talk to me more and you'll realize that happens more than you think.

No, but I think that it's important for for entrepreneurs, for coaches, creators, anybody that is really sharing their gifts their story with the world to to understand because I think there is there can be a lot of frustration in this way of wondering why am I not attracting what I want? Yeah, in my life. Yeah.

You know, I work a lot with, you know, people on their mindset around what they believe to be true and the stories and the narratives and stuff like that. And but understanding Okay, once you are reframing those and you are kind of putting yourself in a position to you know, have those mindsets reframed, and you're in a place to share what it is that you have to offer the world. Then being in alignment with, you know, what you're putting out there with your copy with your messaging. Yep. How you operate out of your human design is I think, really, really important. Yeah.

So I thank you for, for sharing your wisdom and your knowledge. How can people find you and connect with you? Yeah, so you can my website is Rachel weaver.com and it's I have an extra a in my name ich al

Andrea Crisp 0:46
Hey, friend, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, and I am your host. I'm also a mindset and confidence coach. And today we're gonna be talking about something super deep, we're talking about standing in your worth. And friend, this is something that I have struggled with myself, and I am on the other side of I'm very happy to say. But honestly, when you don't feel worthy of things in your life, you are constantly going to be standing in your own way.

It wasn't that long ago that I was part of a mastermind to fast foundations, which I absolutely loved. I was in two rounds of it. But during my second round, I was triggered a lot. There were so many high level coaches in there, that were making really good money. And they had these fancy Instagrams, and like, I would look at them and they were like, you know, super shiny driving these really nice cars. And oh my gosh, like if I could even describe I can't even describe to you like what it was that I saw. And every time I would get on these calls with these people, I'd be like, Oh my god, goodness, like I cannot compare to these people. And I'm never going to be as good as they are. And I was really downplaying my ability level, I was downplaying who I was what I had to offer the world, and really not thinking that I was worthy to be in the room to be quite honest with you. And if you found yourself in a position like that in your life, maybe you're in a networking group, or you're in some sort of coaching mastermind, and you find yourself in this position, comparing yourself to others, or judging what they're doing, because you're like, Well, I would never do that. And I would never post about that online. Or you find yourself consistently hesitating, when it comes to making decisions or putting yourself out there.

Or you're looking for approval, you're needing their attention in order to feel good about yourself. Or you are just thinking, You know what, I should probably post something that doesn't feel in complete alignment with the, because maybe then people will pay attention to me. If you're doing any of those things. Can I please just ask you right now to stop.

So many of us are not living out of our true worth, not only as coaches, but as humans. And I think before we do anything in the coaching space, it is so important that you know your worth. And you may say well, how do I know? Like, how do I know if I know my worth? Well, you be asking questions like this. Am I good enough?

Maybe you're comparing yourself against other people. You're like, am I as good as this person? Am I as good of a coach? Do I have a good system? Do I have a good program as a person? I don't feel like I'm enough. Or maybe you're growing and scaling but you're like, I don't deserve this or do I deserve this? Or maybe you're thinking to yourself, you know, I really love being in this program, but this other girl is triggering me all the time. And you're wondering, Is she better than me? Do all the clients want to go to her?

Or maybe you're finding yourself, like chasing other people wanting them to be your clients or in collaboration with you? Or you might be questioning all the time.

What did I do wrong? Did I do something wrong? If you're asking yourself any of those questions, then it is entirely likely that there is something that feels off in your life and you are not truly living into your worth

And when I talk to my clients about this, it is a really heavy subject. Because at the end of the day, we could have all the money in the world, all the clients in the world, all the success in the world. But if we don't feel worthy of that, if we don't feel like we actually truly deserve it, then it's not going to amount to anything.

And if I'm really honest with you, for a long time, in my own life, I felt as though I was not worthy. And I was trying to build a business, I was trying to do all sorts of things, based on my gifts and talents and abilities. Because I knew that I was really good at those things. But I didn't feel worthy of them, I didn't feel worthy to have success, or worthy to have love are worthy to have these amazing clients in my life. And so what I did was I just I try to source my worth, from external things, by peers, getting around people who I really respected and thought were really cool. And if I was in the same room with them, then maybe it would rub off on me and I would like learn how to be worthy. Well, you can't learn how to be worthy, you either feel worthy, or you don't feel worthy.

I spent a lot of money on getting more credentials, and you know, learning more things, getting more tools in my tool belt to help people. And gosh, I mean, I feel like I have so many tools, I sometimes don't even know what tools to use, because I have so many tools.

I joined masterminds, I joined coaching programs, I, I did all of these things to feel like I was worthy and to source my worth externally. And you know, it, even when I would hear people say stuff like, Oh, I love your hair, you know, like things like that your background and your Instagram posts, like, those things were like, Oh, I'm finally worthy. But at the end of the day, none of those things truly made me feel worthy. None of them.

I had an underlying belief that I was not worth being seen, being heard, being loved. And all of that stemmed back from things in my own childhood. Now, I know this is hard to hear sometimes, because oftentimes, it's like the thing we don't want to do, well, I don't really want to do the inner healing work, I just kind of want to make money, I just want to, you know, make an impact in the world, I don't really want to have to deal with my own transformation.

But honestly, friends, if you're going to really make an impact in the world, you have to deal with those things in your own life that are holding you back. And you might even be making a lot of money right now, and scaling your business, but you still do not feel worthy of that success.

And if you don't feel worthy of that success, or having those clients or living the life you're living, then it's time for you to actually do the work so that you can hold that space safely and in integrity for your clients. Because they deserve that. Because you want your clients to feel worthy of their success of what the transformation is that you're providing them.

And in order to really do that, you have to have the transformation. You have to do the work, the inner healing, the mindset work, the shifts that aren't sexy, don't feel glamorous, and to be quite honest, can be difficult at times.

And when I looked at my own life, I started to realize that a lot of this inner healing work that I needed to do was going to be the very catalyst that would propel me forward. And I have been working on my mindset for years, and I have been really leaning into my worth. I've done a lot of therapy, coaching, energy work. I mean, you name it, I've done it. And and to be honest, a lot of those modalities were super, super helpful. But at the end of the day, I had to champion myself. And I had to believe that I was worthy of everything that I desired in my life. And if you truly want to make an impact in the lives of your clients, to have success in your life and success in your business, then you are going to have to stand in your own worth as well. So maybe you're asking

So okay, well, like what do I need to do here? Like, what are the steps I need to take? Give me a list, let me do it. Okay. So I'm going to tell you a couple things that I think are going to help you. But you have to listen very carefully to how I'm going to instruct you to do this. Okay? So the first thing is get support, but get support from people who are doing the work, don't get support from people who are doing the same BS you're doing right now.

Okay, you have to get support, from like minded, honest, real people who are walking in integrity, have done the mindset work, or living out of their worth. Because if you find yourself around other people who are not, you are going to be staying in that low energy and low vibration. So it's really, really important that you get around people who do believe that they're worthy. And I found that to be so true for myself, if I was constantly having conversations with people who are in doubt and unbelief about their theirs themselves in their business. And this is not clients, but I'm talking about friends, or peers, then I felt like, oh, well, I don't feel worthy of that. So I needed to cut that out and cut those people out of that space in my life in order for me to truly be able to be around other people who are living in their worth. So you can join a mastermind of people who are really, truly investing in that in themselves. You can take a look online, you can join the mindset, mentor circle that I run. But most of all, I encourage you to do the inner healing work yourself. And it doesn't have to be long and involved doesn't have to take years of therapy. In fact, it can be one session that will truly transform your life and help you to step into your worth.

The whole reason you want to make an impact is because you know that you can help other people transform their lives. So you have to transform your own life. Okay? So just make it really simple.

Get the help that you need, the mindset shifts that you need, so that you can start making a bigger impact on other people, and truly be in integrity. Living out of your worth.

Friend, I love you. I know this has been kind of like a straight shooting episode today. But I really felt like it was so important to share this with you because I don't want you to walk down a path that you feel as though you're trying everything in the world, but you just really, really don't feel worthy. And if that's you and you're like, Okay, Andrea, I do I want to take that step I want to you know, move through some of these limitations that I'm feeling. Let's jump on a call. We can work through it in one session. And you may, that just may be what you need is one session. If there's other things that we can do, and we want to build something around that then we can but just give yourself that gift of doing the inner healing work. You can find the link in the show notes and book a session with me and you will be amazed at the transformation that happens in your life. Friend, I love you. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Until next time, remember you have everything you need to live briefly.

That can be scary because a lot of times we feel like, well, if I let go of that then I don’t have anything coming in. I don’t have any business, any income, any of those things coming in. But oftentimes it really, for your highest good. We need to be able to let go of what is no longer serving us so that we can create space for what is coming in.

Andrea Crisp 1:06
Hey, friends, welcome to The Couragecast. My name is Andrea Crisp, I'm your host, I'm so glad you're here. I am a mindset and confidence coach. And I work primarily with coaches, entrepreneurs, and creatives, who are really wanting to make an impact in the world, but are finding it hard to move past their own limiting beliefs. You know, the whole reason I started coaching in the first place was because I had a huge desire to help others follow their dreams and passions. And back in 2011, when I first became a coach, my focus was primarily on helping women discover their purpose, I was so jazzed up about doing this. And I was so keen to help women discover their purpose that I created these coaching groups. And I had zero experience doing that. But as I started it, I just kind of went with the flow. And I built these groups and women just kept coming to them. And to my amazement, they were really successful. In fact, I am in touch with many of the women today some have built businesses others have, you know, started their dream life. I mean, so much came out of those first coaching groups when I was first coaching. And the synergy in the groups and the bonds that those women formed, really helped them take brave steps in their own life. But when I left my full time job in 2014, and stepped out into coaching full time, I was kind of in a space where I had no idea what I was doing. So I had been I school music teacher, and then I was a pastor and now I found myself as an entrepreneur. And even though I felt really confident about my coaching, I had no idea how to run a business. And so I started to research how I needed to do things. And I quickly found myself buying into and when I say buying I truly do mean buying into systems strategies, coaching programs, that promised to make me money fast. But before long, I actually found myself in a place where my mindset could not support what these coaches were asking me to do. Now I'm not saying what the coaches were asking me to do was wrong. But they really weren't in touch with where I was at as a brand new entrepreneur. And they weren't really vetting me properly. They were just wanting to sell me a program and make money. And they were doing a really good job at it. Their marketing skills were like, super high, and I thought I needed what they had to offer. And because I didn't have anyone around me to truly ask, and there was no one else that I knew that was in the online coaching space at the time. I was really just trying to figure it out as I went along. And so what ended up happening was, is I found myself in mounting debt, because these programs were actually not really working for me. And I if I look at like how many programs I've actually purchased, oh my gosh, you didn't you don't want to know. But I found myself feeling really, really anxious about what I had done. I'd quit my job and started this new business. It was things weren't working out. I felt like a complete failure as a coach, because I felt like I was trying everything and nothing was working. And I was in also a lot of emotional pain from the past that had really not been healed. And I've talked about this a lot in other podcasts

But I haven't talked about it in this particular way. And I was rehearsing these old stories from my past. And these limiting beliefs were coming up about who I thought I was, and who I truly believed myself to be.

So even though I felt like a really good coach, because I knew my skills are on point, and I even had the certifications to back me up, and years of experience in being a coach in as a high school music teacher, and as a pastor doing all that work, I found myself in a place where my business was in a complete standstill, and literally thought there was no way that I would be running a business in two to three years. And so I did what everyone else did, I bought another program.

I figured if I would master the art of email marketing, or doing webinars, maybe, you know, figuring out how to do a really cool reel or get another launch strategy that I would finally figure out what I was doing, because I thought something must be missing.

I also hired a Kajabi expert, a podcast intern, I even traded my services to have someone pitch me on podcasts, okay, so you know what had ended up happening from all that?

Nothing, I did not get the results that I was looking for. So friend, if you are finding yourself in that place, where you have bought absolutely everything, and you are not getting results, please stop buying more systems.

That is not what you need. Okay. And the reason why I know that is because until you get to the heart of what is holding you back, you're not going to be able to attract the customers and clients that you desire into your life and business. And when I started doing the work, the inner work for myself, when I started doing the mindset work, that is when I started to truly uncover those old beliefs, those limitations that I had been believing to be true about myself. And at the heart of it, I felt like I wasn't worthy. I was allowing fear to get in the way of even my own zone of genius. And I was playing really small. And you may be thinking, what does that mean playing really small? Well, I was allowing other coaches to, you know, take up all of the clients because they had some fancy marketing. And they promised to help them, you know, make 10k a month. And I just sat on the sidelines because I didn't feel like I could help someone else make $10,000 a month. And so who was I to promise anything.

But what I was missing in all of that was the fact that holding space for someone in a coaching session as a mindset and confidence coach, and allowing them to process through where they have been holding themselves back. And helping them to reframe that and get to the heart of why they have been doing that and really release it is completely transformational. And I was thinking that that really wasn't all that fancy or shiny, and who really wanted to do that work. And yet, I know at the heart of it, that is the only way people are going to get results. Because you can have all the amazing fancy systems in the world. You can have the best team in the world. But if your mindset is not where it should be, then you are never going to feel truly happy, fulfilled successful in your business. Okay, so

I want to call bullshit. Okay. There are a bazillion coaches out there peddling false hope, promising to help you make 10k in 90 days. Grow your list by 1000s get you on TV. And I call that bullshit marketing. And you know it when you see it because these people are sliding into your DMS and they are asking you to like join their next program and you

You don't even know them, you have not built a relationship with them, or they haven't built a relationship with you. And all of this is to make them money. And I can tell you this right off the bat, that if they're doing that kind of kind of sleazy marketing, they're probably not really able to help their clients. Okay? When I first started coaching, back in 2011, I got a certification and became a life purpose coach. And then a couple years later, I got another certification became a leadership coach. And, and then I from there went on to get life and success coaching certification. And from then on, I got certification to do EFT, hypnotherapy and NLP, and so on and so forth. And this is all after I have a Master's in Counseling, and over 20 years of experience in the helping industry, both as an educator, a pastor, doing so many hours of one to one, coaching, okay, so I know what I'm talking about, when I get in a session with somebody, and I'm able to chat with them and talk to them about what is going on in their life. I know what I'm doing. So when a coach comes in and says, Oh, you know, I got a coaching certification, I'm going to coach you, and I have zero experience in how to actually help you. But I'm going to help you build a business and get you to a 10k a month.

There is no way friend, there is no way. So I needed to tell you the truth about all of this, because I don't want you buying into the same nonsense that I found myself buying into. Here's the thing, you're doing amazing things in the coaching space. And the reason I know that is because you're listening to this podcast. And obviously you're resonate with me for some reason. And I would imagine that you have a lot of integrity in your business, and you know, that you can get your clients results.

You're a high achieving ambitious coach, and you know, the value of it, investing in yourself, and you know, the value of helping yourself move forward. And that's why you've hired the best coaches to help you grow and scale. But here's the thing, underneath all of that. What about those fears that are keeping you up at night? What about those things that make you feel anxious, that make you doubt yourself, or tell you that you're not good enough to be doing this or to be in this space?

If you are walking around trying to coach your clients, with your own scarcity mindset, and you feel discontent in your life and in your business? How do you think that's going to translate to them?

Do you think that they're actually going to get the results that they need, when you are feeling the way you're feeling?

So I just have to be real with you. There's not a program out there, no fancy schmancy system strategy that is going to help you to navigate this, to get through this. Because the truth is your business is built on you, your your business, if you're a coach, if you're in this field, then you are the business. So if you're not in the right headspace, then you're never going to really be able to help clients the way you truly desire. Okay, so, let's be honest, as a coach, it can be really, really hard to know where to get the support. Okay? You really have to be able to know who has integrity, and who does not. And mean you could ask me I can recommend amazing people to you. In all of these different fields, like I know amazing money coaches, I know amazing relationship coaches, sales coaches, story coaches. I mean, you name it, probably almost every person that is on my podcast that has been a coach is someone that I recommend, okay? Sothey're out there, it's not like they do not exist, but to just buy something because you think you need it is definitely not going to help you. Okay?

If you want to truly show up as the authority in your life and in your business, then you need a safe place for you to actually talk about those things in your life that are coming up those fears, those old beliefs, those limitations, so that you can root them out, and you can start moving forward.

Because let's be real here, I know that you're not going to go into a Facebook group and post about it and ask for help. Because what if your potential clients are there, like, you're just not going to do that, right? You need a community that is going to hold space for you.

And in order for you to grow in your business, and make an impact, you need that safe space, to talk about the challenges that you're facing in your business to talk about how you're feeling about what you're doing, or maybehow you're in lack or disbelief about things. And if you are, it's okay, because that is so normal, especially when you're up leveling in your life and in your business. And the more honest and real you are about working through your mindset blocks, and your own personal transformation, the more effective you are going to be at serving your own clients. Okay. So that is why I created the mindset mentor circle. Now before you think oh my gosh, now she's asking me to pay for this crazy program.

Nope. Friend, it is free. I knew that there was something missing in the coaching space. And that is a safe space for coaches, to truly have community with one another, to be able to work through those mindset shifts that they really need quickly and effectively. So they can get back to doing what they truly love. And so I have created the mindset, mentor circle, we're going to do it every Wednesday. And I love you to be a part of it. So I'm going to give you a link in the show notes. And all you have to do is click on that and join my email list. And you're going to hear of all the information about it. You'll see if this is something that you truly think fits you. And if you feel like you want to show up for one time, and see if it's something that is really helpful for you then please do and if you feel like it's not where you're at, then that's okay as well. The whole reason why I am creating the mindset mentor circle is really to have that safe community for coaches to truly get the help that they need, which is something that I did not get when I first started coaching, the best part of this, like I mentioned, it is free. So, friend, having said all of this, if you feel as though you're struggling and you have been struggling for a while, and you're just really not sure what to do, I want to invite you to join me for the mindset mentor circle, and to really experience humanity in a way that will uplevel you and help you on your way. You can find all the links to connect with me even if you want to ask me questions about it in the show notes today and I hope to see you there. Until next time, friend. Remember you have everything you need to live briefly.
